Updated Dammon Build Guide!

Sad because you need more Dammon? Here is an updated guide on how to make him into your player character or dream guardian.

First, let's discuss the mods you'll need if you want to get your player character as close as possible to Dammon's long-lost twin or evil clone. Are you on a console or don't want to mod? No worries, alternative suggestions will be provided in this guide too.

Clothing:

This is only needed if you wish for him to wear the same outfit and for it to be the right color. If you want to keep the number of mods on the low side, you can use Basket Full of Equipment instead. It does have a blacksmith outfit, scarf and his boots too. (The boots are called: Black Leather Footwear D, just dye them brown. The scarf dye Swamp Green.)

Just know as of posting this, there is no dye in the game to match Dammon's existing choice of colors on his blacksmithing outfit perfectly. I would recommend when using Basket Full of Equipment to go with the scarf-free version and dye it Faewild Green and Dun Dye. Then you'll find his scarf in the cloak bag and dye that Swamp Green. If you can't get your hands on that rare dye Swamp Green works great too.

Eyes (and a jump start with the dream guardian):

What do I mean by jumpstart? Well... the modder here made a great start of what Dammon looks like. But I suspect the way the mod and/or game functions, some of Dammon's coloring is a little off. His horns are nearly white, and his eyes are brown, that is if you're trying to make the dream guardian look like him. This might be corrected in the future.

What's important about this mod is that it unlocks Dammon's unique eye color for not only the Guardian but also the Player Character. It's the only one I've found so far that does this. If there are other mods that come along that just unlock his eyes, I'll be happy to include them here too.

Don't want to install mods or can't? Try the Blue 3 or Sapphire 4 eyes. Or if you want them to glow more then have central heterochromia Elf Blue 1 and 2 are nice options as well.

Fun fact: Dammon's eyes are blue with central heterochromia.

Oh, and there is also the option to go with his Early-Access eye color Elf-Gold 3 if you're feeling particularly nostalgic.

The Quick and Easy Way:

Want to make the player character and every companion in your party look like Dammon? Well, this is the mod for you. There is however a caveat. He's stuck in that blacksmith outfit. As in not even for love scenes will he get naked. Alas, the real Dammon model doesn't have a nude character model option-at least not yet. Any who...

Onwards to the rest of character creation!

But first, a few quick side-by-side final comparisons to confirm the appearance you should get when following this guide.

Head, Skintone, and Horn Color:

Head 4

Blush Tone 5

Malbolge Spires with Dusty 6 for both base and tip color.

Hair:

Style - Arabel Ribbon Hair Color - Blonde 3 Highlight - Red 6 Intensity 70.

Makeup (optional):

Eye Makeup - Butterscotch (Intensity 40, Metallic Tint 10, and Glossy 10) Limp Tint - Red 1 (Intensity 10, Metallic Tint 10, and Glossy 10) For makeup, I'm unsure if Dammon wears any but in all the images here I did add a subtle amount to try to make his eyes stand out a little. This might be helpful if you're stuck using Blue 3 or Sapphire 4. I thought to also add a tiny bit of gloss to his lips since he's not hanging out by his forge so much. This is just a personal preference.

In fact, Makeup 12 comes in handy for guys or gals in general at a 10 to 50 tint level to make their eyes look a little deeper set, tired even and um... more broody? Play around with this and other make-ups and have fun.

Scar (optional):

Dammon does have a scar over the bridge of his nose, under his right eye, and on his lower left lip. But on him, as seen below, it's faded. Scar 3 comes sorta close but it's rather distracting. Until we can get a scar depth or age slidder from Larian (or a mod) I would skip it entirely for now.

Class, Race, Voice, and Stats (optional):

According to the Wiki Dammon is an Asmodeus Tiefling but you could subrace him into Mephistopheles or Zariel as head 4 is available to all subraces. Changing his subrace might prove advantageous depending upon what class you wish to play.

For voice, nothing can replace Frazer Blaxland's, but... I found Voice 3, out of all of them, is similar in depth and warmth.

If playing as Dammon and you want to get as close to his abilities, and fighting style as possible, it's all an educated guess. This is only mine on one class example: Druid.

To start, I made sure that all his stats were at least 10 in everything just like his original. For the extra points left over, I put them into upping his Dexterity as it helps with dodging damage. After all, you don't need a lot of hp if you can dodge damage. I also put a few extra points into the main stat for his class and a bit in Charisma just to make conversation rolls easier. For background, I went with Guild Artisan to further help him with persuasion, give him some insight, and for roleplaying purposes since he was a blacksmith. For cantrips, I would highly recommend picking Guidance if available to further aid all conversation rolls.

I went with Druid because it lets him wield a scimitar right at the start. On the Nautolid you can usually find two of these weapons. "Who uses wooden tools!" Dammon shouts as he throws that ugly staff overboard into the fires of Avernus. The second reason is perhaps while he was in the grove he learned a thing or two. He did after all pick up a few skills while in Avernus, why not at the Druid Grove too? It's just one level and you could multi-class him into anything later on.

The third reason I went with Druid for class is your doppelganger gets a discount from Arron, the other merchant to be found there.

But of course, you can make him any other class you wish or multi-class him. I did so myself by adding dragon sorcerer and bard to him later on. This is just an idea, but one could use his playthrough to try and get the Jack-of-all-Trades achievement.

If I had to go with an official class for him, my money would be on Artificer with a subclass of a Battle Smith, to be precise. The video down below explains what they are, and as early as Act II Dammon can literally craft us some bombs and free armor if you bring him the right things. He would be the perfect Artificer companion if we in the future get that class in a DLC. (And romance option-yes while keeping most of his mystery too, Frazer. This will explain just one example of how it's possible.)

Sadly, no official Artificer class yet but there are a few mods you can try out by just searching the term Artificer on the Nexus. But this mod looks so far the most polished and fleshed out called:

How to bake your way to a smith´s heart

Part 1

( I think you can read this as a one-shot)also caution it´s not proof-read

Emma left an hour ago, that means that you´re left with cleaning up the bakery, you two own. It isn´t big and it did cost a fortune but with your parents help you two were able to buy it and finally fulfill the dream you both had since growing up.

As kids you two would build your own bakery with cardbords and use mud or sand to make your dough while flowers and grass were used as sprinkles.

Sighning, you wipe the floor clean from all the flour, losing your hope that Dammon would visit you today. Perhaps you did creep him out by comming unannounced and even telling him that you´ve been watching him.

After you came back you didn´t dare to look out of the window, too embaressed that he might catch you.

Finished wiping the floor, you stand up with aching knees to wash the dishes next in the other room.

While washing them, you hear the door´s bell and annoyed you come out at the desk to tell the customer that you´re already closed for the day.

But to your surprise; Dammon is standing there with a small bashfull smile, carrying your basket in his hand. "Am I disturbing?"

You hold your hands up and shake your head "No, not at all... but we are all out off sweets, unfortunately." You give him an apologetic look.

"Ah, I´m sure your treats are much tastier here, inside the quiet bakery than in my forge... but I´ve come to bring your basket back." He puts the item on your desk as he looks around, admiring the decoration and it doesn´t seem like he is ready to go yet.

"Do you have any plans for tonight?" you catch the faintest hint of blush on his cheeks as he rubs his neck while asking.

Your own face heats up "Uhm, yes, erm- I mean no I don´t have plans but yes I-I would spend it with you- if that´s what your asking of course..."

Dammon chuckles at your behaviour and you can´t help but laugh a little too. It´s clear that he knows you have a crush on him which gives him the confidence to ask you out.

"Then we could go for some tea or a light meal in the tavern?" You nod and look down on yourself then back at him "but I´ll need to go back home and change real quick, if that´s ok."

The tiefling agrees and tells you that he´ll be back in an hour to pick you up, so that you two can walk together there.

After he left you run up the stairs to your room and get ready as fast as possible. You put on nicer clothes and decide that you should let your hair open. Quickly putting on a little makeup, you grab your bag and go downstairs. The half finished dishes are long forgotten in the sink.

Dammon´s already waiting for you outside, wearing a simple shirt and vest, with his sleeves rolled up to the elbows which reveal several little burns and scars on his arms from working in the forge.

You rush outside, his tail wags excitedly as he catches the sight of you by his side. "I hope you didn´t wait too long" you start.

He offers you his arm which you bashfully accept. "Don´t worry, you´re right on time." He offers you a smile and guides you to the next tavern.

All while you feel your heart beating against your chest because of how close he is. You´re itching to put your other hand on his arm as well, curious how his muscel and rigged skin must feel like.

Even though it´s almost 10 p.m the city is still wide awake, there are a lot of people who are also very drunk but the walk to the tavern isn´t long and you two arrive it in less than a 15 mins walk.

The noise of the tavern makes you feel a little uneasy since you´re not a fan of loud sounds in general and it seems that Dammon also caught up on that by your tense body language.

That´s why he guides you to a small table in the corner, hoping that it would ease your mind a little.

"Do you already know what you´d like to order?" he asks as you both look at the menu. "Yeah I think I´ll take the same as always; some fried potatoes with the yoghurt sauce."

He nods and calls for the waiter to order for the two of you "I´ll have the chicken steak with grilled vegetables and for my partner fried potatoes with yoghurt sauce. For drinks we would like some lemonade." And with a nod the waiter is gone.

You can´t help but figet a little on your chair as he called you his partner. "You look quite lovely tonight, [Name]" and again he manages to make a blushing mess out of you.

"Thank you, I know I probably looked a bit messy earlier when I came to your forge" you admit but he chuckles fondly and assures you that "No, I actually thought you looked quite adorable even though you came straight from your bakery. The flour on your clothes actually suits you very well."

The waiter is quick with your order and as Dammon thanks him he leans back with his drink "Don´t worry about being messy around me, I think you know my work isn´t the definition of clean."

And you do just that, you both dig into your meal and it seems that Dammon was very hungry since he eats way faster than you do.

After minutes of silent eating he begins "What made you decide to open the bakery nearby?"

Swallowing your food you start to explain "Well, it was always my dream to open up a bakery with my friend Emma. Even as kids we would tell everybody that we will have our own bakery someday. But without her and my parents I wouldn´t be able to, even though I had a lot of jobs to save up the money."

Dammon listens and nods understandingly "I feel the same way about smithing... and I´ve also worked extremely hard to forge my name in this town..."

He chuckles before looking at you "Pardon the pun."

Taking a bit of his meal he continues "How has business been going for you?"

You are relishing the possibility to talk about your bakery "You know, sometimes it goes good and then bad agan. It´s a constant rollercoaster actually so it´s never really steady. Also the customers for some reason rarely try any new receipts out and sometimes they are so rude about the littlest thing which leaves me questining humanity at some point."

Dammon smiles warmly with understanding eyes and he can tell that you are very passionate about your bakery.

"But how is it going for you?" you ask in return.

Before answering he takes a sip of his drink "It´s been an experience, for sure." He puts his glass down and rubs his chin thoughtfully, "The locals seem to appreciate my work, some of the adventures I forged weapons for have come back for more." he proudly tells you.

His expression sours for a second "Not everone is a fan of a tiefling though, at least not at first. I suppose my appearance can be intimidating."

Feeling bad for him, you put your hand over his "I´m sorry, I cant imagine how horrible it must be to be the victim of rasicm. I´ve also heard how some people talk about tieflings."

He turns his hand around to hold your as his voice falters a bit when he mentions "Yes... I´ve heard my fair share of slurs while walking the streets. Many avoid me or give me dirty looks."

You squeeze his hand, thinking about how people could be this mean to someone so nice, even if they don´t know him. "If it´s anything worth I think your tiefling features look good and I had no ill thoughts about you." Confessing this makes you avoid his gaze while your cheeks heat up.

Even Dammon can´t hide his blush as his tail stills before wagging happily again. "Thank you... that´s very sweet of you to say [Name]. Not everyone appreciates my infernal features, even me sometimes."

He chuckles and strokes his thumb over your hand. His hand leaves yours and you already miss his warmth over your now cold one.

The rest of the dinner goes rather quietly. You two talk a little about this and that, getting each other to know better.

As the waiter comes back for the bill, Dammon is quick to turn down your offer to at least pay for yourself, reasoning "Please, allow me to pay for today. I don´t often have someone to dine with and I´d like to repay you for the sweets today."

On your way home he again offers his arm which you happily accept. You two walk in silence, finally the city quiet down which creates a comfortable atmosphere between you two.

A shiver runs down your spine as the wind blows against your back. "May I?" he ask while taking his arm out of yours to put it around your shoulders, nodding you allow him as you snuggle his side.

Being this close to him, lets you feel his warmth and smell his scent, which make you weak once again.

At the entrance of your bakery, he starts "Today was really nice, I hope we could repeat it sometime."

"Yes, I´d love to." You give his cheek a little peck while he squeezes your shoulders. He watches you get in before waving a little bye, making sure that you´re save so that he can go to his own home across the street.

You don´t really feel like sleeping, thinking about the dinner causes you to giggle and kick your feet. You can´t help but daydream about the next steps with Dammon. How and when he would confess his love for you.

Another ask!! Yes!! Of course!!! Here are some new sketches as well!

I am in the process of writing a fic, so I don't want to reveal too much without spoiling some plot points I have planned. Regardless, here are some basic character facts: Age: about 23-24 Height: 5'5 Weight: ~150lbs Body Type: She has a sturdy build, especially for tieflings who I think tend to be a bit more wiry/lithe, and has a bit of pudgy-softness to her form. Skin Color: Golden, like Dammons, but she has a pale chest and belly. Hair Color: Golden brown with reddish highlights Eye Color: Hazel-green Char Stats: STR: 10 DEX: 12 CON: 17 INT: 8 WIS: 11 CHA: 15 She's got one-braincell syndrome, but boy can she take a punch. Upon waking in the nautiloid, she hits her head pretty good and realizes shortly after that she has no memory of her personal life. Whether this is due to injury, the tadpole, or something else is something that ties into her character arc. Relating to this, she does have a name! Tav is a moniker given to her by Shadowheart very early on in the story. Her real name will be revealed as the story progresses. Her amnesia seems to obscure only her personal history; She has intact "common knowledge" about cities, recent world events, races of Faerûn, etc. Basically things most people would know, etc. She is a tiefling (Asmodeus), but has some unusual features. Her horns are initially filed down to the base, and her nails have been trimmed so she no longer has the typical claws we see on other tieflings in bg3. As time passes in the story, she does regrow her horns, which is why you might see my depictions of her with varying horn lengths. Due to her amnesia, she is unsure of what line of work she once occupied, but it's apparent she's a proficient martial fighter. She develops a slight father/daughter relationship with Zevlor after saving the grove from the initial goblin attack, and it's his influence that guides her towards becoming a Paladin. This vocation suits her for a variety of reasons, mainly due to the fact that she's inherently selfless, often to a fault. I would list her positive traits as being: kind, self-sacrificing, charismatic, courageous, enduring and practical. I would list her negative traits as being: Reckless, stubborn, naive, dense, tactless (compulsive truth-teller), and overconfident, although this stems more from her naivete rather than arrogance. In short: She's a good aligned, folk-hero paladin, aka Astarion's antithesis (at least in the beginning). I think it's an interesting dynamic to explore that relationship and contention between the two of them, and how ultimately they're good for each other. Hope you didn't mind my rambling! For background, I went with Guild Artisan to further help him with persuasion, give him some insight, and for roleplaying purposes since he was a blacksmith. For cantrips, I would highly recommend picking Guidance to further aid all conversation rolls.

For Class, I went with Druid because it lets him wield a scimitar right at the start. On the Nautolid you can usually find two of these weapons. When it comes to his eyes there is a slight hiccup. They are currently only unique to Dammon. The closest we can get to them is Blue 3. I vaguely recalled that if one was a tiefling in Early Access even if one were to pick the more human/elven eye colors they would still have a slight glow to them. This is currently not the case as of launch and I'm not aware if there are any mods out that can give us the proper eyes. :

Actually, after some thought, another color might be better than Blue 3 called Sapphire 4 as it's a little more intense.

For make-up, I don't think Dammon wears any but I did add a subtle amount to try to make his eyes stand out a little more and added the tinest amount of color and gloss to his lips. So the following is optional. Personally, I find that particular eyeshadow comes in handy for guys overall at a 10 or 20 intensity level to make their eyes look a little deeper set and um... more broody?

For the hair, you may want to experiment with the red highlight. I don't think I got the color spot on. Below, I outlined other possibilities. On a darker red you may want to go higher in intensity than just 60.

The horns I also worry I made a touch lighter than Dammon's but if you go with a Dusty 6 or 7 that might correct the minor difference.

Below is a final side-by-side comparison in the same lighting. Again, you might wish to experiment and go with a slightly darker red for the red hair highlight and the same with the horns. Also, the dyes I end up using for his gear are Swamp Green or Green to complement his original outfit colors.

In my excitement, I may have gone a little overboard. Be warned @itstheelvenjedi heheh...

Tavetha/Dammon (From Sweetums and Sunshine) 2. Do they like each other's friends? Do their friends like them? I would like to think so, after an adjustment/getting to know you period most people go through.

At worst, there is a very real but still playful rivalry between Tavetha and Rolan where they try to magically outdo one another but also swap little tricks like baking recipes. Come to think of it they exchange those too. Lia, Cal, and her will also gang up on and mercilessly tease Rolan but only when he gets too full of himself. Dammon often will back one of his oldest friends up if three of them get too roundy. Tavetha’s little secret pet project when it comes to Rolan is finding him someone special. Since Lia and Cal have seemed to find their someones she’s deep down worried about Rolan feeling lonely.

As for Dammon when it comes to Tavetha’s friends, he's a little shy and unsure of how to be around Astarion and Lae’zel the most at first. The elf is so outgoing, rule-bending, and flirty, and our favorite blacksmith I see as more reserved, straight-laced, and introverted. Until Astarion learns to dial it down and Dammon realizes he needs to loosen up a little, things are polite but a touch awkward. Dammon also had zero clue how to chit-chat with Lae'zel until the subject armor and weapons were brought up. But even then their knowledge only overlaps a little as they come from two very different standpoints of user and creator. However, she doesn’t look down on him for not being a warrior and offers to give him a few pointers on how to dodge and at least avoid getting hit. She also respects his craft and provides feedback on how to improve the designs of weapons and armor from her experiences in combat of what works and what doesn’t.

When it comes to Gale, Dammon is an expert on how to chat a wizard up as his father is one and he spent most of his childhood growing up around them and other magically inclined peers. He finds Gale far more charming, and believe it or not, humble than most he’s delt with in the past.

Shadowheart, Halsin, Jaheira, Misnc, and Dammon are perhaps the most indifferent to one another but not unkindly so. Honestly, I just can't think of anything they could talk about besides the weather, swap a few stories, and debate over current events. My version of Dammon is he struggles a bit with idle conversation but he tries his best to be at least a polite listener. But if you come to him with a problem he’s great at providing thoughtful questions to help guide them to a solution.

Out of all of Tavetha's friends when it comes to Zevlor, Dammon is ever polite but it's for her sake alone. Like many tieflings from Elturel, he struggles with trusting their former leader or staying civil for long. Not after what Zevlor did and the events that unfolded in the Shadow Cursed lands. Anger will slowly build in Dammon the longer Zevlor is around. Eventually, Dammon will need to excuse himself or he will, in rare form, lose his temper and start calling out and confronting Zevlor about what he did. Perhaps it's easier for Tavetha to forgive the older tiefling because she did not witness the slaughter that resulted firsthand. But then she understands more than Dammon about what it was like to hear the Absolute's voice and fall prey to it. These realizations came to both of them after a few long, painful, but necessary talks after Zevlor paid his first few visits.

On a lighter note, I like to think Dammon and Tavetha also end up spending time with other married/coupled friends such as Bex and Danis, Wyll and Karlach as well as Alfira and Lakrissa.

5. How do they sleep?

In true dragon sorc fashion, Tavetha tends to make both a nest of and hoard the covers as well as sprawl over the entire bed. But at least she drapes over or even sleeps on top of Dammon protectively rather than pushing him out of it. That is when he's not spooned up behind her with his chin resting upon the top of her head and his every limb wrapped around her.

These two are, in Astarion’s words, “the most absolutely disgustingly clingy cuddle whores” when they sleep together. They rarely sleep apart. Both run hot, and after so many cold nights apart, as they made their way to Baldur’s Gate separately, they crave a lot of skin-to-skin contact and sharing their warmth. So sharing a small bed or snoozing together on a lounger of some sort is not a problem for them. If they drift off after sex Dammon will usually hold her very close and even stay inside her. Yes, they are that clingy. Perhaps another factor as to why this happens is during the day Dammon and Tavetha are pretty focused with their various projects. Some of it is sweaty and usually, it's Dammon who doesn't want to get Tavetha dirty. So until they both call it a day and wash up they only share a few pecks at most.

Mindful of the sharpness of his horns Dammon rarely if ever ends up falling asleep on Tavetha’s breast or stomach and the same goes with any other guest to their bed. He’s not a fan of wrapping or capping his horns at night. So he takes care to keep his head up above anyone else's. He gets a little nervous over his vestigial wing tips and clawed toes scratching her too so he’s picked up the habit of filling them down a little to blunt them and sometimes even wearing a nightshirt or socks to bed.

Is Dammon’s tail wrapped about her calf, thigh, hip, or waist? Oh yes, nearly all of the time. He doesn’t sleep well and struggles to fall asleep even if he can’t wrap his tail around some part of her. Tavetha doesn’t mind one bit. If she had a tail, she's be wrapping it around him right back. His only presents a minor challenge if she needs to sneak off to pee or raid the kitchen in the middle of the night.

17. Do they believe in marriage? Yes but… they are open to more partners to create a semi-closed polycule. They don’t sleep with strangers or do anything on a whim, it’s just not their thing. Careful consideration regarding all parties and a deep and trusting friendship must come first. Dammon and her are most of the time a package deal. They live together full-time at his forge and are the first to marry and start trying for a baby once the city is saved.

So their other partners, what’s the setup? Karlach of course Dammon and Tavetha pounced once she became touchable. She was the first they both fell in love with hard and together they helped her make up for ten very long and frustrating years. Astarion’s interest was peaked by all this but he wasn’t ready for anything more than flirting, cuddling, and kissing until a few months after his master was slain and the elder brain was destroyed. When Karlach had to go back to the hells that’s when she and Wyll grew very close and fell deeply in love.

Who all stays with them? Mostly Karlach and Wyll once her heart is all sorted out along with Astarion before that. All three of them are the more extroverted ones who work outside of the home and play a hand in helping run the city. Tavetha and Dammon are both introverted artisans who spend all day making things at home. Dammon of course is busy making his weapons and armor. Tavetha creates and enchants jewelry and even some of Dammon's finished pieces. They don’t deal with customers directly so much anymore and leave that task to Cal, Lia, or Rolan at Sorcerer's Sundries who take a small cut.

All five of them are intimate with Halsin and Shadowheart too but only on occasion as they both only visit once in a great while.

Look, it’s not as wild as one thinks. Not everyone is having sex constantly with everyone else. Some couplings happen once in a blue moon. There’s more swapping of partners, group cuddles, and only occasional threesomes or foursomes. An all-out orgy is rather rare and just sometimes happens. Once or twice a year at most and it’s never really planned.

Habits over time have emerged too on who sleeps more with whom. Karlach and Wyll tend to pair up more together. The same goes with Tavetha with Dammon. Astarion tends to split his time among the four equally. He likes sleeping in between them all if only to get extra warmed up and spoiled. He occasionally goes off to pay a visit to Sebastian or Halsin. He also has unspoken dibs to pounce Halsin first whenever he comes to the city. Shadowheart prefers just to have sex with Tavetha, Karlach, Wyll or Halsin on occasion. But honestly most of the time everyone is cuddling and kissing far more than having sex.

Gale and Lae’zel have been offered to join in however they please but both have declined so far as polyamory is not their thing and that’s okay.

(This all sorta just evolved because I can’t stand the idea of some of the characters missing out on various romance options. I love all of them and like to think in Faerûn polyamory is far less stigmatized and vilified.)

3. What's their favorite thing to tease each other about?

They don’t tease each other a great deal. They’re surprisingly gentle and reassuring with each other’s egos. Well, at least at first once they figure out each other’s limits it does pick up. They bicker like an old but still very happy married couple right from the start.

Instead of disapproving at worst, Astarion now only teases Anna for being still such a bleeding heart for every charity case they come across.

Anna tends to tease him for primping more than she does. When it comes to going anywhere it’s him that always makes them “fashionably late.”

They joke over their mutual little crushes regarding Dammon, Wyll, and Karlach. Astarion especially loves to point out Anna seems to have a strong preference for the infernally touched.

Lastly, they do imitate one another but this also kind of falls into what habits they take from one another too.

6. Do they have pet names for each other? Do they like them?

It took Anna a while to use one pet name on the regular which she secretly settled upon the moment she began to fall in love with him. She fell fast and hard for him, despite her jaded heart and his few red flags. One of her flaws is although she can charm and flirt causally as well as any warlock, deep down she doesn’t have much confidence when it comes to romance when she starts to deeply care about someone. Other more generic endearments such as my dearest, husband, my dear, sweetie, and honey all came easy. But calling him Star for some reason felt more important and deeply personal.

Similar to Astarion she’s been hurt deeply in the past, feels tainted, and unworthy of love. She can be triggered too, freeze up, and even lash out just as bitterly as he does. She can hide it most of the time and seem aloof and calm but in reality, she might be silently panicking and figuring out how to flee a situation that’s overwhelming her emotionally.

The first time she called him Star was when they were in the full throws of having sex for the first time. As she climaxed, harder than she had ever had before, she couldn’t hold back and it slipped out in a half-choked and moaning kinda way against his ear. Astarion chucked it up to just an interruption or cut off on his name and didn’t think much of it. The second time she screamed it when he took a particularly vicious strike, dropped like a stone, and blacked out. After that, she would murmur or whisper it on occasion when fast asleep or when she thought he was deep in his revelries as they cuddled together in his tent.

Astarion found her singular unique endearment for him sickeningly too adorable, lazy, and hardly original. (He also loved it dearly.) Worse a quiet desperation would grow in him if more than a few days went by without him hearing that “utterly silly nickname pff” pass her lips in some form or another. Something about the name Star lightly scratched at the barrier to his memories before he was turned. He could only guess that perhaps someone long ago used that term of endearment too. His mother? A lover? A friend? He had no idea but whenever Anna called him Star he felt like he reclaimed a small piece of home.

He made a point to at least offer a delighted soft knowing smile when she slipped and called him Star for the first time in front of the others. Even better it took her a few seconds to realize what she had done before she so deeply blushed the cutest shade of pink and clamed up. He will never forget how she offered a slow shy smile back when he drew near and she instantly relaxed when he kissed her forehead. When it dawned on her that he was not annoyed or would mock her choice the only time he now hears his full name is when she grows cross with him or is striving to be very serious.

As for Astarion’s pet names for her, we all know he calls the player character darling, dear, and my sweet. But there is one I have for just Anna that came about because I used to daydream a lot about her playing with his pewter (I’m guessing) buttons on his old coat in Early Access.

She played with them whenever they cuddle. One in particular she messed with far too much to the point it ended up wiggling loose and just popping off in her hand. She’s a touch horrified and unsure what to do as she knows he takes great pride in his appearance. With someone else, who was abusive to her in the past, this kind of thing would have also resulted in her getting screamed at or worse. So in a moment of panic, she tucks it away into her pocket. Thankfully, he doesn’t notice it’s missing until later and assumes it just fell off at one point during the day.

Since it’s the third button down on his left side he mentions he’ll just need to relocate one of the lowest ones or one from under his belt to make the loss less obvious. But he will still be missing one and she can tell it deep down bothers him a little bit more than he will ever admit. She, of course, riddled with worry and guilt, offers to repair it for him. But before she can confess to accidentally tearing it off, he assures her a missing button is hardly of consequence. They do face bigger problems after all. He insists he can repair it himself and for her to not make such a fuss over it. So she reluctantly relents and decides to keep his button safe upon a bit of cord about her neck.

After every skirmish from then on, she developed a habit of checking him over for any damage, his coat included. He in turn does the same for her. Most of his attacks are ranged and even when he needs to get closer a majority of their enemies' hits never land. To his relief, he also doesn’t lose any more buttons, and any cuts or tears to his flesh or coat he manages to patch up overnight. Sometimes they help one another with soothing wounds. But there are a few nights when he feels more peckish than usual and in abundance of caution he advises her to keep her distance.

Gradually he also notices she fiddles with his coat buttons far less after he lost the one. Even going so far as to snatch her hand back to play with something about her neck on occasion instead.

He can never make out what it is as it seems so small that at first, he thinks she is just pinching a tiny button upon her coat shirt. Or it’s some old trinket she had on her before they were abducted he assumes. His curiosity is piqued but he never presses her about it as whatever it is seems to soothe her nerves or bolster her confidence again when feeling low. She would often seek to hold it while discussing their options and next move. Perhaps it held a helpful enchantment of incredible value if she so zealously hid it away from everyone, him included. Or it’s something her patron gifted her that would keep them in touch. Whatever it was he tried not to take it personally as it was just one little thing she decided to keep only to herself.

But then one night it happened. A small glint of something slipped free from her slack fingers as she drifted off to rest. Unable to resist he takes a peek and finally, spies in the darkness what she holds so very dear to her heart.

His missing button. Incidentally, one that had also been closest to his own heart, and in that moment he realizes just how deeply she truly loves him.

As if the pet name she calls him softly now and then, after the first night they made love, had not made it abundantly clear. With a smile, he finally settles upon a new and equally unique endearment for her and rests lightly until dawn.

The moment she stirs he breaks his trance leans in and affectionately whispers, “Good morning... my dearest button.”

”Mmm wha... good morning to you too my star,” she murmurs back with a confused but happy glow to her features under his warm gaze. Her mind is a little sluggish having just woken up. It takes a few moments before what he called her sinks in and she gives a little gasp of guilt. Her hand reached and clasped his simple button tight.

He wonders what she was bracing for and realizes, "You tore it off, didn’t you?"

"I didn't mean to! And I did try to offer to sew it back on. Still, I should have given it back. I'm-"

"No, I want you to have it,” he assured her before she could apologize. None was needed. Her sentimental nature tickled him as he teased, "If only you will spare my others."

15. What habits or characteristics have they picked up from each other?

What habits did Astarion pick up from Anna? Hum…this is a tough one. Aside from now having a slightly more charitable nature, humming. Yes, she hums often as she’s too shy to sing and is better at remembering a melody over lyrics. He’s not as good at it. He’s more nasally and rougher sounding. He kinda teases her with it by coming up behind her or another and playfully humming extra horribly when he wants attention.

In a small way to show affection, Anna would often help tidy him up. Pluck some leaves out of his hair, brush off some lint upon his shoulder, and adjust something just a bit off or out of place. Of course, at first, she always asked. But once he started doing it back seeking permission first defaulted to them just plucking and grooming one another on the regular like two cooing and fussing love birds.

What ones does Anna pick up from Astarion? Some of his more dramatic mannerisms and expressions. “What in the sweet hells were you thinking!” and simply declaring, “Shit” when she knows she fucked up for starters. All and all she learns how to move more gracefully and even strut a little thanks to him.
