Been thinking about a human CSM band au (w/ @raggedlyshorn )! They’re The Powers That Be and they’re supposedly angel/devil themed, though it’s not very cohesive because Aki refuses to wear a costume.

5 hc au: if you have read csm, an au where Izuku (and cast members of your choice) are devils in disguise? I think it would fit if Izuku was the Quirk Devil, and represents the fear of superpowers

1 - Inko finds a child covered in blood someday and naturally decides to adopt him and to teach him the usual things like "Brush your teeth after you ate.", "Study at school.", "Don't eat people. You don't know where they have been.", "Always remember that your mom loves you." and so on. It's pretty obvious that Izuku is not human and he does feel the urge to grab superpowers here and there but his life is pretty good... until Inko gets really sick. Izuku, who is about 16 at the time, needs money for her treatment. He is recruited by the devil hunters.

2 - Izuku's boss, Akatani Hisashi, is a very creepy and incredibly scary man (well, to most people. Izuku's sense of fear is a little... out of this world). He is actually the first Quirk Devil. Back with All Might's fight, Hisashi came so close to death that a new Quirk Devil was born into hell but the bastard managed to drag himself back from death, creating the very first existence of two Devils sharing the same concept. Hisashi then made a contract with the HPSC... I mean, the government, who were positively drooling at the idea of having such a powerful Devil obeying them. I am certain it will have no unfortunate consequences.

3 - Izuku gets Todoroki Touya as his supervisor. Touya is a hybrid that fused with some kind of Fire Devil (maybe the Holy Flame Devil) that has excellent results on paper but everyone refuses to work work with him. They are soon joined by Touya's brother, Shouto, who has a contract with three Devils and a sword.

4 - Uraraka (Gravity fiend) and Bakugou (explosion fiend) are in another team. Takami Keigo is a normal devil hunter and Touya's sitcom nemesis.

5 - Hisashi fully intends to kill Izuku before too long because even if he is fascinated (and kinda flattered) with the occurrence of another devil sharing his concept, he can't really tolerate someone else like him. He gave him to Touya's team because he knew Touya wouldn't realize the danger Izuku's in.

6 - Yoichi used to be a human guy who had the misfortune of meeting Hisashi.

7 - Izuku can both steal quirks and devil powers. For the latter, he sometimes eats them.

8 - Izuku has the habit of wearing gloves. Inko was a really good mother but she messed up on some points.

9 - This is sadly the AU where Natsuo was accidentally sacrificed to a Devil by his own father.

Have you considered a Shiki Chainsaw Man AU? I know you did a snippet of JJK Shiki world hopping into the CSM verse, but what about one where Shiki is a native to the latter universe?

Although the setting would be different the premise could be similar with Shiki's family having been caught in a tragic accident (or incident), leaving the young girl orphaned, comatose, and on life support. As time passes and Shiki's prospects for survival gradually fade a miracle occurs, causing the girl to recover moments away from death's doorstep.

However something about the girl has fundamentally changed. Her calm demeanor is a far cry from a child in primary school, her skin and hair already pale before the incident are paler still, but most notable of all are her eyes. Deep dark blue eyes that seem to see right through you, gazing into the deepest recesses of your mortal being and finding it... lacking.

Sorry for getting a little dramatic at the end there, but long story short during her coma Shiki made a new acquaintance in the form of the Death Devil. Now whether this is a reincarnation of the 4th Horseman as was the case with Nayuta or a contract similar to Denji's would honestly be up to you if this idea is given the light of day.

I haven't really been following Chainsaw Man recently but I heard that the Death Devil is being involved (?) so there will potentially be more information on that soon that might contradict anything we come up with here.

Given how distinct the MEoDP look, I think it wouldn't be too far of a stretch for others to look at Shiki and come to the conclusion that she is either a Devil or a Fiend. Normal humans don't have eyes like that, after all.

Except Shiki is human. She doesn't recall making a contract with a Devil, and she's fairly certain that she isn't a devil. All she knows is that she woke up one day in the hospital with these strange blue eyes, and no one can explain how things happened.

Her parents are dead. In this world, there is no Nanami. There is no Gojo Clan.

Just Shiki, alone against a world where other people look at her and see Devil.

I can imagine some of the Class 1-B kids making a quip about Ichigo being Kendo’s long lost older brother once they meet

Ichigo would be scary and intimidating too but he’s genuinely a sweetheart

SetsuDen (Setsuna Tokage/Denji)

Listen to me, both got sharp teeth, powers with some body horror stuff going on and they’ve also both got detached/split limbs

These two would meet pre-canon in an AU where Setsuna finds/meets Denji in an alleyway with Pochita (since he’s still homeless in this) and Setsuna’s still in middle school/junior high so pre-U.A.

They’d sneak around often and Setsuna (canonically a recommended student = MONEY) would bathe his ass like a dog and get him a new change of clothes

Denji and Pochita contract still happens so obviously he’s still Chainsaw Man in this but since this is in the MHA-verse CSM would be classified as a vigilante while Setsuna gets into U.A.

Denji doesn’t get groomed by Himeno, Makima, and Fumiko, in this too

My own interpretation of Jane Eyre if she was my OC ( also for my CSM AU)

Jane Eyre

Date of birth: 9/9/81, 19 years old

Gender: female, she/her/it

Family: The Reeds ( Aunt & cousins) [debatable], Megara Reed ( Mother, deceased), Ah Huat Lee ( Father, deceased), Helen Burns ( blood sister, devil, currently acts as her heart)

occupation (s): Pre-school teacher, private devil hunter, Public Safety Devil Hunter division 6

Contracts: Canon Devil ( Helen Burns)

Jane had a soft spot for devils, not because they were good but because she always thought of herself as one. She was treated like one by everyone she knew, so in her mind she was just like them. Her aunt Reed and her cousins would lock her up in the boiler for prolonged periods of time and beat her up when she tried to escape. When they went on family trips Jane would be locked in the house for days and she had to resort to stealing and tissues for food. Soon enough, the neighbours found out about poor Jane’s treatment and CPS was called.

Bribed with money, they let Aunt Reed go off with no charges as long as she sent her to school. So off to boarding school it was for Jane. Lowood was a good enough school, Jane could follow the lessons and the beds were a great deal warmer than the concrete floor she had at Gateshead. Every month or so there would be a devil or criminal attack near the school, it was near a ghetto. But that just kept things interesting for Jane, she loved watching the devil hunters fight, so she didn’t mind it.

But Lowood was lonely and quiet most of the time, and it was getting on Jane’s nerves.

Until she met a small bird with a cannon on its head, it said its name was Helen, and that she’d been there since before the school existed. Lowood was said to be hundreds of years old, so naturally Jane was curious. The wise bird had the voice of a girl-child but had the knowledge of a 1000 year old man. Soon Jane would find that Helen was the Canon Devil itself. Weakened by the lack of war for the last hundred years. The two of them became good friends, and Helen was the fist- thing- to acknowledge Jane. Helen was Jane’s whole world.

Jane and Helen would go out to hunt smaller devils on their own when night struck, and Jane would let Helen ride on her shoulder when classes were out. Jane slowly brought up her own savings after selling the flesh of smaller devils, and her smart brain was bringing her good grades. So things were going great for Jane and Helen. Jane found out a spray paint and would occasionally paint portraits of random people on walls.

Until Jane fell sick.

Jane had tuberculosis, probably in its most fatal state. Helen was there for every second when she was in bed. But there was no saving her as she was now. Immortal being that she was, and devil that she was, Helen struck up a contract with Jane.

“ I’ll become your heart, and in exchange, keep on existing”

So Jane lived on until she graduated. Eventually, and miraculously, striking a job as a kindergarten teacher. She worked surprisingly well with small children, considering her background. But she was still better and hunting devils.

Now immortal - her limbs would reattach if they fell off- she started to hunt larger and larger devils to pay the bills her job wouldn’t. But unbeknownst to her “ news is boring” person, a war was starting.

A war on terror. Far away, in Iraq after 9/11.

Fear of war started to spike up again, and thus so did the fear of cannons. Once, when Jane transformed into her cannon form, she accidentally injured a civilian in the torso. Not knowing her own strength before and horrified by it, Jane ran to turn herself to the Public Safety Devil Hunters bureau so that they could contain -or kill- her. She got recruited instead.

And that’s how she met Edward Rochester.

running here because i caught up w csm and your makima duology but i have to know if you think with how possessive nayuta is with denji, do you think that same possessiveness with extend in your series with the new version of reader and nayuta??? because omg imagine reincarnation reader trying to make new friends at school

i think that nayuta would be possessive to an extent but that it is more manageable in the canon divergent au i wrote. but it was probably at its worst in the beginning when she and reincarnated reader have to start interacting with others their age and branch out to make connections with other people

like, she hasn’t killed anyone thankfully but she probably got close in the past and it gave himeno a huge headache. nayuta probably gets scolded more in the makeshift family situation she has going on now compared to being raised by denji in canon so she is more wary that her actions have consequences. but it is in the nature of her devil to be possessive so it is something that would never truly go away but c’est la vie

Kishibe doesn't need a roommate and he reminds you of that at least 12 times a week but he wouldn't dream of having you leave. He's so much more sentimental than it seems. Who would've thought that stone cold bastard had such a big soft heart? He lets you decorate any room you like for the most part and he'd be lying if he said he didn't appreciate the warmth that comes with another life in his home. You two don't need to fill all the space with chatter but after a while, you do get him to open up a bit and you learn a lot from the man's life. He learns a lot about yours too. Idk, it's just the right amount of cozy.

Baker!Aki is dying for your attention after the fist time you visit his shop. It was dead on a weekday afternoon. He gave you a deal on some cookies, insisting it was the end of the day, that they'd go to waste. Since then he's tried to catch your eye and your fancy through some new desserts, pastel macarons, and cute little pastries, and delicate fruit tarts. He listens to you talk when you bring some friends to study there. He's not trying to be weird, but he hears you're not from Japan and starts making German treats he think maybe a taste of home could be nice or well he's ... he's trying okay? He thanks the gods the day you ask him why the menu always changes because you finally give him your number with a promise to teach him how to make some real bread.

Yall have been inseparable for the last two decades. You spent your youth together. You shared nearly all your elementary and middle school classes together and and never struggled to make time for one another. For his part, he gives you energy and hypes you up all the time. He even hypes you up for that date he doesn't particularly like that you're going on tonight because he doesn't think the guy is good enough for you. But he's still gonna help you pick an outfit and tell you how great you look because he's honest and he cares about you and well, he trusts you to make smart decisions.

I know in the beginning of part 2 she isn't, because I wanted there to be a sort of "spin-off" story w/ Gabi going back to America for a while to figure out some sorta problem 💭💭 So like. She's doing that in America while part 2 is going on. BUT IK SHES GONNA COME BACK!!! Just gotta ... figure out when ':3

I've got a few ideas on how I wanna re-introduce her to the part 2 storyline, but I think I wanna see how things progress a little before I make any ideas canon. So far though, I'm sort of leaning into the idea of bringing her back either right after the Eternity Devil Aquarium arc, or during the Falling Devil arc, but nothing quite concrete yet!! I just know she's gotta come back for her bf and their kid (nayuta) <//3

Having said that!! Whenever Gabi comes back, she probably won't go to the same school as Denji. She'd graduate early !!! Get herself a GED n stuff •□• Much to Denji's displeasure (he wanted to go to school w her!!!) But I don't think she'd wanna go to school if she could help it. Might change depending on how the story goes tho!!

HOWEVER I do also have like... an "AU" of sorts where Gabi gets introduced only in part 2. In that case, she'd have a more active role in part 2 - she'd go to the same school as Denji (just in her senior year, so like a grade above Denji? Sorta? At least I like to hc he's in his junior year. Cause I'm fairly sure he's 18 currently? But I thought it made sense for him to be in a grade below), would interact with him, Asa and Yoshida more,,, stuff like that :3c

I'd like to say that Part 2 Only!Gabi would've been present for the Aquarium date (which would've been framed as a hangout bc when Asa tried to ask Denji out, Gabi was there too and she didn't wanna be weird) and would've been over at Denji's place with Asa (The kiss still would've happened, but Gabi wouldn't have been effected much by Nayuta - which is its own plot point that I can elaborate on if someone's interested!!!!), and most likely would've been present in the Falling Devil arc!!!
