saw your tags on that diana post!! the thing is. it wouldn't have worked if she showed up while scully was sick. and csm didn't really want scully to die but i think he's always been willing to sacrifice her if "necessary"
i think scully's cancer & mulder becoming jaded is why diana was sent in. mulder was so determined to save scully and he wasn't pushed into csm's arms to do it, he found another way. and then season five happened, and cassandra became involved, and mulder was pushing harder to expose the government conspiracy & pulling back on the alien aspects of it. diana coming in after this saying 'hey good catch,' saying she believes him, she's on his side and then getting shot. these are the things that drew him to her. and all of it amps up scully's insecurities sooooo much. like, he fled in detour and she accepted it. she's a liability with a chip in her neck who can only believe with concrete proof. cassandra & gibson were turning points for her. but then mulder ~needs her rationalism & science so she doubles down and then he gets so frustrated with her. she can't please him or help him and she's trying so hard. and while csm doesn't know everything, he does watch them. he is aware of a lot.
the timing is just sooooo calculated, it's incredible.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaabsolutely.
Eating your thoughts up with a spoon rn.

Soooo Mob psycho episode 10, eh.
God the direction in this episode was amazing. The eeriness of the start with the aftermath of the crash, the music from the stop light playing...and then going into the reactions of people once they realised what happened and then Mob's powers flaring up, smash cut to the OP.
The effects and animation on ???% is so good, I love how he seems to have little expressions visible now so you can almost get an idea of what he's thinking, plus when he bent down to look at Teru... so creepy. It looked amazing though.
Speaking of Teru... god he was so good in this episode. If the other episodes have been amazing at showing Mob's growth, this one was to truly show Teru's.
The cinematic parallels between this fight and the fight from season 1, like the choking scene or Teru useless punching ???% chest like how Mob useless punched him instead of using his powers.... Teru's constant and unwavering stubbornness, him losing his hair and clothes yet again...
And then Teru in the end deciding the way to beat ???% was not to overpower him, but to save everyone else (which is also what Mob would want), showing that despite the parallel's he's trying learned... just. UGH. It was so good. ONE's writing is really amazing.
And all the little details, like Seriwaza using his powers to stop the books from falling, everyone recognizing Mob in the photo when before he used to fade in the background because they just know him so well (And also, who else could it be?), and Reigen's expression when he realises who is causing all the earthquakes...
The Claw members (and Teru) not being angry at Mob for what ???% is doing even if they don't understand what's going on, because they all trust Mob to not be malicious, to know he has to be having a reason to do this, to have been set off, (though Teru assumed it was because of his crush, since the phones being messed up means no one really knows Mob was hit by a car).
Just, ugh it's all so good.
And then our lovely little suicide squad comes up for a really good cliffhanger for the episode.
Loved the commercial bumpers as usual.
This episode did not feel like 20 minutes. I cannot wait for more.
