When The Last Titan drops...
and we go back to Northrend, I wonder what the new capital will be for the expansion. I doubt they'll go with Dalaran again, so operating on the assumption that we'll be using an existing location, I think that the likely options will be...
Grizzlemaw - now ruled over by Furbolgs that are finally purified
Zul'Drak/Gundrak - Could easily see surviving Drakkari finally banding together to rebuild, and maybe opening up to the other factions to ensure survival/out of desperation. I like to think it would be a coalition of living and undead trolls
Wintergrasp - Finally find some greater use for it
Moa'ki Harbor - According to Exploring Northrend, the largest Tuskarr settlement since losing Kaskala
Kaskala - Finally reclaimed
Pal'ea - According to Exploring Northrend, has been reclaimed by the Tuskarr and is currently expanding
Isle of Conquest
Strand of the Ancients
Azjol-Nerub - Not too sure about this one considering what's going on in tWW, but I feel like it's a fair possibility
Coldarra/the Nexus
Crystalsong Forest - Unlikely, but I could see them rebuilding in the Highborne Ruins, especially if they go with a Dalaran connection and the elven factions. Doubt it though, considering the expansion before this will be so Elf-focused
Didn't consider any Storm Peaks locations, considering that it seems we'll be fighting the Titans who will be based out of Ulduar, or Icecrown locations, considering I doubt that anybody would choose that. Sholazar also has Titan connections and also no locations that seem like they would fit for a capital city.

An acrylic on canvas painting I did last month! It had been a hot minute since I last used acrylics and I decided to go for Crystalsong forest in World of Warcraft.

Return to the world of Azeroth....in Morrowind, for today we're showcasing World of Morrocraft's beta release for the continent of Northrend!
A project two years in the making, World of Morrocraft aims to bring the realms of Azeroth to the game-world of Morrowind, largely using Morrowind assets to provide a new interpretation on the classic locations and environments found in World of Warcraft.
Tel Shadow's ambitious personal project, this beta release includes a mostly exterior complete continent of Northrend, covering the regional zones of the Borean Tundra, Dragonblight, Grizzly Hills, Crystalsong Forest, Icecrown, Storm Peaks, Sholazar Basin, and Lake Wintergrasp.
But this release is still exteriors only, no NPCs or enemies have been included yet, though NPCing and creatures might be included in the next update along with the zones Zul'Drak and Howling Fjord.
As a note, it needs to be emphasized that this is an interpretation of Northrend, not a 1:1 remaking of Northrend from World of Warcraft. Some things are different, like the city of Dalaran isn't floating in this version (due to performance issues), so keep in mind it won't look exactly the same (nor could it while primarily using Morrowind assets).
But either way, this is a really impressive project, with tons of verticality, and while there's not much gameplay just yet, the landscapes are a visual delight that manages to capture some of that nostalgic MMO magic!

Zariasona had gotten accustomed to the raven who lingered around her over the last few weeks. Ithilios had done more good for her than even she had realized. The black raven who was named Stolas was an ever lingering presence around her. Despite her dislike for pets, she came to grow used to the various animals around the home, the raven was a force to be reckoned with.
Always snippy, snarking, and snide, Stolas made it a point to always irritate Zariasona. She hardly could understand the rhyme or reason for it. She merely thought at this point it was just a game, or his natural manners.
However, in the midst of Crystalsong Forest Stolas appeared shortly after Ithilios disappeared back home. She expected him to appear after he left. What she didn't expected, was for the raven to take on a new form.
The ruffled feathers fell from him and blew behind him in the wind as he grew to three times his size. The now 6 foot tall quel'dorei man stood several feet away from Zaria with straight, long black hair and the same silver eyes that she had. Slender in form, he gazed upon her. His voice had an unusual timbre to it, leaving her to wonder if it was masculine or feminine in pitch and tone.
"Archon, We have much to do even still. I can't very well help you in that form."
"You mean to tell me, this whole time you could have shifted to this form and not stayed in that bird form?!" Zaria was clearly not amused.
"I take it you don't have a good experience with animals?" Stolas asked inquisitively.
"No. The only reason I am comfortable with you, is I can actually have a full fledged conversation with you. I cannot do that with that damned parrot." She crossed her arms over her chest completely averting her gaze. "I cannot deal with you right now."
"And I am not giving you a choice. You hid away for long enough, Archon. Your King may have awoken you, but you are not yet fully awake. He is right, You need to learn to harness that power. You can do it, You just need to stop running from everything, including me."
His words clearly struck a nerve. Her hair had started to turn from that vibrant teal to the purple. The tips of her ears showed her rage as they darkened with color and it wasn't long before the shadows started to pull from the darkest recesses of the forest and swirled beneath her feet. As her rage built up, the more they licked her calves and threatened to consume her form.
"Have you ever wondered why your shadows only come when you're upset? It's because you lack control, you lack discipline. I am trying to teach you, and yet you suppress me at every turn. You can do so much more and yet-"
"ENOUGH." Her voice boomed loudly, echoing into the vastness of the forest. Even more alarming was the shadows that now consumed her form. Her hair was still turning that bright purple, the tips coming to fade to that brilliant sea green.
"If you don't calm down, you very well could end up in a blind rage just as he did. Do you really want that?" He bellowed out in return. "You know what you did when you accepted me. You let me in, and now you cannot part with me. I am forever a part of you, Archon. You'll either swim, or you'll drown."
Silver eyes pierced that think purple misty veil, her hair now fully transformed and full of its own life. It blew idly as if there was wind moving it while she continued to stare him down. "What do you want?" She bellowed out to Stolas.
"You need to focus. You feel something, Hone in on it, learn what that feeling is. The King was right."
Even in her blind rage, she stood there and focused on the feeling that dwelled within her. Silently she stared him down, and as she did the shadows that swirled around over form dissipated and left her in her altered form without the shadows. She stood there with defeated and solemn eyes. "That.. That's it?"
"That's it." Stolas said in reply with a single nod.
