I was thinking about the legend, specifically this bit which is meant to portray the “WORLDS’ edge” (thanks to the linked post that I previously reblogged by @abandoned-quiche), and looking at these images again, my brain asked:

What landscape are we actually looking at here?

Cause my first assumption (and I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one) was that it's a desert, but what if the sepia tone is disguising the true nature of what we’re seeing (like how it helps players to confuse Chara for Frisk in UT)? I mean, Hometown certainly doesn't seem to be near any deserts.

So what if those lumps aren’t sanddunes, but something else? Like snow?

Or… waves?

I mean, look at the weird ripple affect on the ground at the base of the fountain in the third image. Consider that the fountains are just that - fountains, geysers. Liquid.

And it kind of makes sense, right? For the border between worlds, one light and one dark, to be physically represented by a border between land and lake/sea? Especially considering the song from the sea, and, well, all of this?

Just trust me on this one, guys. I’ve called it.

My favorite thing about this piece is drawing KOTCS Frisk’s freckles as it’s a cute feature of hers that I love. ❤️❤️ (sorry, if it’s hard to see)

Wish it was same for their height difference 😫…I’m not going to lie, it’s hard calculating their size when they’re close to each other. But I do like a challenge 👌…and just now did I realize I drew the wrong outfit for Frisk 🙃

Luminoustale!

I have decided to finally share some basic info on my AU Luminoustale! Aside from a few important comics here and there I never fully explained it's concept, sooo....

In Summary: Luminoustale is based of the idea that the waterfalls in Waterfall actually do empty somewhere below the Underground. Frisk took a few extra years after a RESET somehow tampered with the timeline, causing a bug.

Monsters became desperate after so much waiting and decided to explore new possibilities, one of which included seeing if the barrier reached far enough to affect whichever area was below the massive falls of Waterfall. The operation was made in haste, and the King was pressed to act soon, so there wasn't much time for exploration. After it was confirmed there was any sort of biome down there, all monsters descended.

There is a full cave system larger than the UG below it, but no exit. All magic from the UG eventually leaks below into the Secondground, causing an effect that makes monsters develop luminous patterns in their bodies to adapt in their new darker environment. Hence the name, Luminoustale.

The AU basically follows Frisk once she finally descends to the Secondground to follow the monsters. She managed to recruit Flowey, who stayed behind, and now both brave this new event together! Neither has seen this before, and they're not sure if resetting works here or even if there is a way to compete any runs, so it's a concept-based au more than anything!

It progresses mostly through separate drawings, not a large comic or anything , I'll mostly be portraying it through slice of life situations or interactions amongst the characters!
