Happy Spring!

Today I'm releasing a pattern that I really enjoyed making. I had to help a very large black carpenter bee that had gotten stuck inside the porch. When I brought it out into the sun I was hit by beautiful blues and blacks and I instantly was thinking of this variegated thread I had stashed. It's my first time doing a more "traditional" style pattern but I had a lot of fun!

January Patreon Pattern ~ Firefox

Based on Finnish lore, Tulikettu, also known as a firefox, is mysterious and whimsical at the same time. At night, his fur lights up like fire and as he trots across the snow, his tail sparks and creates the Northern Lights.

My firefox is doing a big stretch, with the galaxy and Northern Lights within him. Small backstitch detail is of the Vulpecula constellation, which is the "little fox."

My Christmas gift came today! Typically, I use my Christmas money for something fancy for my kitchen. This year, I got this Baba Yaga Halloween sampler with hand-dyed thread so that no two kits turn out the same. I splurged and bought the actual kit instead of simple the pattern, so I got to start it right away.

We're super close y'all! Yep this wedding gift is almost 3 years late but my sister doesn't care because she knows she'll get it eventually XD

I could finish stitching it today but I might not as I have my stream over on Twitch, my name on there is JZsketch and I'll be doing a craft stream so feel free to drop a follow and come along, and my current set up isn't cross stitch friendly so I might be doing something else. But I also need to decide how I want to finish this, I was initially going to frame it but depending how difficult it is to find a frame in my very small budget I may make a pillow, suggestions are welcome!

My completed & custom framed Counted Cross Stitch Sampler!

The employee at Michael’s custom framing dept. asked if I did the stitching & said I picked perfect matting colors & that it’s beautiful.

Can’t wait to hang it up in my living room whenever I can get all the painting done.

I will continue stitching colour wheels until I am stopped. Blackwork embroidery on 14-count Aida.

This one uses just seven thread colours (six for the fills, plus white for outlines). Each section has a 3-part gradient on a bit of a curve, which was a bit different to design, but no harder to stitch than my earlier 2-part gradients.
