small peek at a WIP i’m working on, but i wanted to talk about my Lamb’s horns and what they symbolize…

So my Lamb is originally a ewe if it wasn’t already obvious by some of my other posts. (She/they prns up until godhood in which it’s only they/them). Upon meeting Narinder again after slaying Leshy for the first time, he can tell she’s desperate to ask a favor of him. It’s an odd request really, but in sheep culture, longer curlier horns were associated with strength and longevity. So she asks for ram horns to be grown as a reflection of her power, and asking him since she doesn’t have full control over the red crown yet.

So for each bishop killed, the horns grow, and grow, curlier and more full until they are faced with dethroning their most beloved god. Battle ensues yada-yada, but at the end of it all, they notice two small bumps on their forehead beneath their wool that are similar to that of a baby lamb’s.

A final gift, he thinks, though never telling. A silent offering of respect. They have grown far stronger than he had foreseen. And for that, they are granted a small set of horns.
