So in mass Effect we know ✨adult films✨ exist and that Shepard is famous enough to have a VI made of them, meaning that there’s probably ✨ Shepard impersonators ✨

With that this is how I think the crew would find out. (Preface in ME3 if you romance Garrus, Joker sent him vids to help him woo Shepard)

for no other reason than i worked at an ice cream shop for eight years, here's what ice cream the mass effect characters would eat

shepard: neapolitan, strawberry for their paragon side, chocolate for their renegade, vanilla to balance

garrus: moose tracks, but will pick it apart just for the peanut butter cups and give shepard the leftovers

tali: literally any booze flavored ice cream

liara: mint chocolate chip because she secretly kind've fucks with the taste of toothpaste but will never admit it out loud

kaidan: butter pecan. it's not everyone's favorite, but it's his, and he's totally cool with it

ashley: whatever the 2183 equivalent to the tonight dough. cookie dough chunks, brownie chunks, butterscotch, chocolate chips, malt chunks, everything

wrex: this man is old as balls!!!!!! rum raisin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

joker: lemon sherbet. you cannot tell me that man is not lactose intolerant

miranda: cherries garcia, little bit sweet, little bit tart

jack: the most sickening sweet shit you can think of. cotton candy with marshmallow superman with a side of sugar

jacob: some sort of dark chocolate peanut butter ice cream that sounds good in theory but in reality you can only take like 3 bites of before you get a tummy ache

zaeed: banana splits that he likes to mash together with a spoon and eat like some deconstructed milkshake

kasumi: the weird avant gard shit you see in hipster vegan shops, like some bacon sweet potato rosebud ice cream

mordin: coffee ice cream, because he likes the taste of coffee but if he were to actually drink it he would spontaneously combust

grunt: those froyo shops that were everywhere in 2014 where you could make a bowl with like 5% froyo and 95% other toppings and it cost 14 dollars

thane: doesn't like ice cream because it reminds him of how he abandoned his child and how his wife is dead and he could never go back to the life he left behind, the life of stability, because his body is engineered for a deadly purpose and he can never atone for his sins rocky road

samara: this woman is old as balls!!!!!!!!!!!!! pistachio!!!!!!!!!!!

legion: tried vanilla ice cream. too sticky, got stuck in his wiring.

james: one of those brownie sundaes that weighs approximately 5 pounds and is majority whipped cream

steve: chocolate chip. classy, just like him ;)

traynor: something smooth and rich and velvety and inexplicably sexy, like raspberry chocolate chunk

edi: takes the idea of ice cream a little too literally and just has a bowl of heavy cream with ice cubes. is confused why everyone is disgusted.

javik: ice cream is for primitives (peaches and cream)

„Did you notice?“ Steve Cortez was already up and moving by quite some time when James Vega crawled out of bed in the morning.

To James, it felt like that guy never slept. At all. Not a single hour. And it wasn‘t like James spent a long time in bed either, but Steve? It was a miracle how he was able to stand on his own two feet and still be the best damn shuttle pilot James ever met. Maybe he was not only that but a real physiological miracle, too. The first human to not need sleep or something. Or he was on really good drugs. Whatever it was, sometimes James caught himself being envious on that guy.

„Notice what, Esteban?“ James replied, still tired and not yet near to where his brain would be after he’d had his first coffee.

„That she‘s spending her nights in the Kodiak.“

„Who?“

Steve folded his arms and shot James an uncomprehending look. „The Commander?“

James shrugged. „Maybe you and her share the same parents. Seems none of you need sleep. Not like the super-loser-rest of us.“

Steve shook his head, but didn‘t expect James to actually be a real help here. Not before he had his coffee, or until it was a matter of life and death, or he would personally trip over the Commander in the Kodiak and break his toe. „I don‘t think she‘s working there at night, Jimmy.“

„But?“

„Sleeping.“

James snorted, a he shuffled past Steve to reach the coffee maker. „Why would she sleep in the Kodiak?“

It wasn‘t like James actually didn‘t care about this or that he hadn‘t noticed. Of course he had noticed. Nothing stayed a secret in his cargo bay. But he knew the Commander, and he knew she wouldn‘t want this to be made a matter of public interest. Not even between Steve and himself. He had been a witness to her sleeping troubles back on Earth for months, and he had soon learned to not give it too much attention. Again, not that he didn‘t care. He felt for her, especially in this matter. He had seen it. She didn‘t just have some mild and minor annoying nightmares every now and then. He couldn‘t remember too many nights on Earth when she actually slept well and through. But in the end they all had those things that were haunting them in their sleep. He had his share, Steve had them, Shepard was no exception. One should rather worry about those who were able to sleep well these days.

„You really don‘t care?“ Steve raised his brows.

„You should know me better, Esteban.“ For a second, James pursed his lips, low-key annoyed that Steve would even consider that. Then he shrugged it off. „What do you wanna do? Pamper her?“

„No, James. But, I don‘t know, maybe get her a blanket? A pillow? I spend enough time in the Kodiak to know it‘s not the most comfortable place to sleep in.“ Steve knew this wasn‘t a big thing, and probably neither an important one, compared to what they were up to. But even the thought of sleeping in the Kodiak for more than one or two stranded nights gave him backache - and for Shepard it was a week now, if he counted right.

He‘d expected some kind of backtalk from James, but instead got some thoughtful silence and a slow nod. „Yeah. Yeah, I guess, that‘s kinda nice. Guess we could do that.“

There was a difference between not making a deal of something and completely ignoring it. And a blanket and a pillow probably wouldn‘t fall in the category of pampering the Commander against her will.

So, Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of my favorite movies. And I am currently obsessed with Mass Effect. This is what I think the Squadmates' opinions would be if Shepard put it on for everyone to watch it (many it would be their first time seeing it).

Ashley- She would say she doesn’t like it but it gives her an ✨awakening✨

Cortez- He appreciates it and likes it but isn’t a super fan. He did go to midnight showing, when he was younger.

Edi- She loves it. I think EDI would be a musical girly in general.

Garrus- He’s just kind of confused by it. He supports Shepard liking it but Hot Pootie gets stuck in his head all the time.

Grunt- He doesn’t get it but likes the vibes and violence. He would do the timewarp at parties with Shepard

Jack- She’s already seen it, she even thought about getting the Boss tattoo.

Jacob- He doesn’t really like it and is mildly concern that Shepard likes it

James- He’s an ally himbo so he loves RHPS. He’s trying to convince everyone to do a group costume next halloween, mostly because he wants an excuse to wear his gold shorts (that he already owns).

Javik- He is surprised how much he actually likes it.

Joker-He enjoys it but his favorite thing now it to put on Hot Pootie in the bridge anytime Garrus comes in to get the song stuck in his head, again.

Kaiden- He's similar to Cortez, he appreciates how RHPS helped the queer community 200 years ago but he's not a fan. He did go to the midnight showing once, in costume and learned to never again.

Kasumi- She loves a good time, and that's what RHPS is.

Legion- Understands why humans and other organics enjoy it but movies aren't super appealing to Geth.

Liara- She doesn’t get it and doesn’t like that she doesn’t get it. She ends up doing the research into the nuances of RHPS and the references. She then watches it again with her new understanding and becomes slightly obsessed with it.

Miranda- She likes it until she starts comparing the fact that she built Shepard and she becomes a bit uncomfortable.She becomes extremely uncomfortable when the others points out the similarities.

Mordin- He’s contacting his old Theater group to see if they can do a production of it.

Samara- She understands why others may like it, but it is not her cup of tea

Tali- She thinks it is fantastic! Touch-A-Touch-A-Touch-A-Touch Me is her favorite song

Thane- He loves that Shepard loves it.

Traynor- Surprisingly she's never seen it before. She really likes it and is debating buying a corset.

Wrex- He thinks it's funny. His favorite part is when they eat ✨️dinner✨️

Zaeed- He played Rocky at midnight showing one summer. It holds a special place in his heart.
