Skipping lunch might save some time, but if it leads to a lack of carbohydrates and sugar, causing a decrease in productivity during the entire afternoon, it could be counterproductive.
When will nutritionists finally invent nutritional packages? Preferably in the form of a liquid that can be consumed just once a day.
The time saved this way would be enough for me to read a few more research papers.
??: Hi, Lucien. Are you going to the lab?
A friendly voice from behind rings out, and I turn to look behind me.
Lucien: Hello, Elliot.
Elliot: Seems like we're both going to be late.

Exams may not be a cause for concern, but papers and classroom presentations still require time-consuming preparation.

The current issue is that the research progress is slower than anticipated, requiring extra time to meticulously review the results.
The once well-structured plan has become exceptionally tight.
How about cutting two hours off my sleep? It shouldn't significantly affect my regular routine.

Colt is not one to accept defeat easily, and he pulls us into starting a new round of the game.

I haven't responded yet when Elliot chuckles and shakes his head, then tosses a box of ice cream from the fridge to both Colt and me.

I've seen it in many convenience stores, but I've never been interested in buying it.
Elliot: In front of our little genius' brain, even the best luck can only yield to skill.
Colt: Sigh... the vacation is too short. It feels like it just started, and now it's already over in a blink of an eye.
Colt finished his ice cream in a few bites and tossed the empty box into the trash. He leans on the bar table, watching the new round of NOU craze.
Colt: How about we have another round of NOU to refresh ourselves after the experiment is over tomorrow?
Elliot: Lucien, are you joining as well?
Lucien: I have to start preparing for my thesis from tomorrow.
Lucien: The experiment has made progress as well, so I want to sort out the related processes.

I can almost imagine Dr. Lawson saying this with a furrowed brow, while Colt complains reluctantly.
"P.S. Lucien's personal research topic aligns with the conference theme. Although the application is a bit late, there will be people at the conference who have done related research."
"You can prepare a summary of your current progress and any issues you've encountered to discuss together."
"P.P.S. Welcome back, everyone."

And finally, it's done 🎉 If I'm being completely honest, the reason it took so long was because I felt that the end of this story seemed 'incomplete'—and I think it turns out to be true? Because the newest birthday story feels like it completes this story.
Still, just as he mentioned in "Distant Similarity UR' MQ," he's accustomed to working alone because there was no one he could confide in, often sacrificing his own sleep to fit more into his schedule. Due to his past self-reliance, he finds himself somewhat at a loss when others offer their assistance 🥲. He's someone who is deeply touched by even the smallest acts of kindness, and you can detect a hint of confusion in his usually monotone 'thank you.'
It's heartwarming to see that he receives small acts of kindness from those around him. His college life seems less hectic thanks to the support he gets from both his friendly seniors and caring mentor 🥺. I also enjoy their harmonious yet playful team dynamic, with Colt being my personal favorite because he reminds me of Fan Zihang, hahah.
Another noteworthy point is what Dr. Lawson mentioned about him being fundamentally an ordinary kid. I think it's accurate, because beneath his 'rush to move forward' demeanor, there's also a yearning for warmth and the opportunity to slow down.

God, I absolutely adore PG's writing and the beautiful metaphors they weave into the story. Through the story you can see how Lucien's barrier starts to melt by the warm atmosphere. And that's because he's an inherently lonely kid who also longs for warmth and mundane life. It's just too bad that the longing he had shattered in the face of his reality. If i had to describe what I feel when I read that sentence about the email, It'd be like waking up from a sweet dream, and now the sweet dream is tinted with layers of sadness🥲. The dream was over and he had no other choice but to bury his longing so deep.
Why the constant hurry? Because he had no choice but to grow faster than other kids; he didn't have the privilege to fail and try again. Why did he keep his distance from others? Perhaps because he doesn't want to experience another loss after his parents. Why didn't he go 'home'? Because at that time he didn't have anything that can be called a 'home'. Once he wakes up from this sweet but fleeting dream, the world he's diving into is even more treacherous than hell. So in the end, he kept his distance from others just as he said in Distant Similarity UR.

once upon a time, in a land not too far away…
there lived a royal family of four. a mother, a father, an older brother, and a younger brother. all were rumored to be vampires due to their sharp fangs from the king and queen’s two sons. the kingdom was a huge town, villages helping one another along with the royal court to help and build their land more stronger, bigger and also supportive to the people around. keeping the atmosphere as lively as it can be. the queen, a deep dark beauty that catches the attention of many gentlemen, along with the king, who’s presence alone was enough for someone to kneel down in front. as for the children, the eldest son, rei sakuma, the next son who would be stepping on the throne after his father retires from the role of the king. and the youngest, ritsu sakuma, rei’s adorable little brother—the male loved to sleep around everywhere in the palace. due to this, his royal guard; isara, would often have a hard time looking for the sleepy prince. ritsu’s job as his role of the prince was to maintain perfection and patience. gentle manners and a a soft tone is always a must.
private royal lessons must be required everyday for ritsu. either royal lessons or piano lessons from different occasions. with his older brother now busy with learning how the role of a king works, ritsu was left alone by himself to learn. only his royal guard was always with him, as it is important that he is of course. isara had been a royal knight to ritsu since day one after his family entered as servants in the palace. he and the dark prince got along well quickly, yet there were always consequences made after the both of them were caught playing so messily around the royal garden. and due to that, isara had no choice but to train as a knight, who would protect and serve for ritsu. although, even if isara had knew ritsu since they were both children, there was one thing he couldn’t get quite right answer in his head.
“my prince.”
“ah~ maa-kun, didn’t i tell you not to call me that?”
it was a force of habit, he says. “why is it every time we would walk in the garden, we always have to go by the roses area? do you like roses?” ritsu gives him a lazy grin, arms resting at the back of his head as he stopped walking, both arrived at the just mentioned location of what isara had just said about his favorite flower. roses. isara still had no idea why he loved them so much, he still couldn’t get the answer till today. most of the time he would answer, ‘because it’s pretty,’ or ‘i like the color.’
those were too reasonable. if ritsu had a liking towards something…or someone, he had a deep reasoning behind them. and that’s on fact of what his royal guard knew.
today, it was a normal day. the day started off very nice, yet slow, is what ritsu thoughts. the kingdom was as busy as always, supply delivery from other kingdoms, farm and garden crops that are highly needed for the town folks living, new place building, etc. at ritsu’s place, the royal palace was a little busy due to them planning for the royal ball that was to be held next week in order to look for a lovely wife for rei to become his queen. surprising enough, rei has not been able to look for a spouse, as he is always busy with his given task by the castle tutors—ritsu had knew his older brother wasn’t the type to just marry someone that had been chosen by their parents themselves. the sakuma bloodline had an agreement that they’ll always leave the sons or if had by chance, daughters to pick their significant other. however, the job had to be done as soon as possible.
despite being quite the good looking and heart throb of every girl in the kingdom, rei was not interested in getting a wife. though here they are, watching as the king and queen along with the servants plan for the royal ball in order to search for the perfect one. ritsu sighs, the castle has been becoming more and more busier. they often even called isara to help out, so he was back to being alone. he hated being lonely, ritsu really did hate being all by himself. it…scares him a little.
standing up from his chair that was seated next to an open large window, allowing every sound from the outside to enter the palace walls—ritsu yawns before heading out to visit his favorite spot to nap; the royal garden. it’s been almost weeks since he hasn’t visited the garden due to the private lessons. the royal garden was not only a silent sanctuary where ritsu could fully enjoy his nap time at cold afternoons, but it’s also a place where he could admire the fresh roses that grew by the garden house. the maids that worked there were kind of old, not to mention that half of the castle maids had already been working here even before ritsu was born as the second prince.
as he walked down the huge hallway, ritsu tried his best to keep his composure up whenever a servant would walk up and bow at his presence. if it weren’t for the ridiculously long private lessons from those annoying tutors, he would’ve been napping for so long right now as he waited for isara to return. well, never mind for that—for now, what was on his mind was just to finally nap.
“what do you mean the roses in the garden withered? didn’t i tell you to always water them in every hour? goodness, those were ritsu’s favorite…”
ritsu’s footsteps came to a stop upon hearing the voice of his mother and the sound of the maids apologizing in sync. he turns his head, looking to the left of the main hallway. the roses withered? what did she mean by that? does that mean the roses he adored so much died just by a week of not being watered? wait, were they even watered before that? did the maids who took care of the garden even bothered watering them? he can’t help but feel a little upset from the news.
“w-we apologize deeply, your highness…after miss agnes died from a heart attack, we forgot to even take care of the garden since it was not on our job…”
‘miss agnes? oh…the old lady who took care of the garden…what a shame..’ ritsu’s frown shrunk even more. well…that just added up more to his horrible hour of the day. with another sigh escaping his lips, ritsu listens more onto the conversation.
“oh agnes…she had been working here in this castle for almost forever. she was already serving here ever since i was a princess…truly tragic news indeed. i’m terribly sorry for her loss…” there was a slight pain in his mother’s voice, showing real empathy towards the passing servant of the castle who had worked for many years as a maid. ritsu too was fond of her kindness and tender nature. she was kind of like a grandmother figure to him, gentle and old. he had no idea where the former queen is, yet from the stories of his father he wouldn’t dare to meet her.
clearing her throat, ritsu’s mother fixed her posture and wiped the small tears away from her eyes, “i must see my husband shortly. however, i would like one of you to go down town to the nearby flower shop and buy a new bouquet of roses to replace the withered ones. i’m sure you guys would start taking care of the garden soon and…i want to see agnes’ family first. anyways, which one of you will—
“i’ll do it, mother.” ritsu slowly stepped out from behind the castle walls, and walked forward to the queen who seemed surprised to see his presence. the maids were quick to take notice at this and bowed politely at ritsu, in which he only smiled softly at and nodded his head. “my son….” his mother started, “how long have you been listening there?”
“not long, don’t worry. but i wanna buy the bouquet of roses you asked for. i think i’ll be able to handle it, besides, i nap at the garden anyways so…i guess all i could do to take care of them is to buy a new pairs of roses,” ritsu spoke, rubbing his eyes. the queen frowns, “no need to, ritsu. the maids will handle this job, you go back to your—
“mother, like i said it’s fine. i need to walk outside the kingdom too from time to time, being stuck inside this castle is boring. the lessons are getting a little boring for me as well…” slowly, ritsu looked over to the maids who stayed silent as he had a conversation with his mother, “don’t worry, i’ll handle in buying them. how about you guys start taking care of the garden while i go out to buy? is that ok?” ritsu asks. the maids exchanged glances at one another before looking over at the queen. at last, ritsu’s mother nodded her head and they bowed before taking their leave.
after they had left, the queen looked at ritsu with a sigh, “bring mao with you. i’ll ask one of the royal guards to fetch you the money.”
“thank you for this opportunity, mother, i’ll get going now. i’ll be back..” ritsu replies, waving goodbye to his mom as he heads out the castle gates. isara was already there when he arrived, money in the royal knight’s hand as he waited. “would you like to ride a carriage, your highness?” a maid questions to the prince. ritsu shakes his head, “no need. i wanna walk for a while. besides i’m just off to visit a flower shop with maa-kun. no big deal…” he says, and the maid bowed—respecting his decision.
the two headed off the beyond the castle gates, isara staying guard from behind while ritsu walked in front, leading the way. alas when they had arrived at the foot side of the villages, a lot of citizens greeted the prince politely, an old lady tried to give him some free pastry from their bakery yet he says that he’ll pay for it, ignoring her kind gesture of making it for free just because of his royal status. some girls were even asking if his brother had already found a partner (to which he just ignored and let isara distract them). the kingdom was indeed lively, his parents did a great job in putting their power together in order to create such a well established kingdom of villagers despite their appliances.
the flower shop was nearby, so ritsu hurried his feet. “it’s a little rare for you to suggest going out to do the task that was supposed to be for the maids,” isara started, now walking beside ritsu with his hands behind his back. ritsu just smiled in return, closing his eyes shut as he continued to walk, “it’s not rare~ do all of you think that what i do daily is only sleeping?”
“that’s what you really do though.”
“i-i mean yeah but, maa-kun you know what i mean. i like taking walks around as well, the sun warms me and i like it more better than the cold moon…” ritsu responded, waving at the people who were greeting him hellos. isara sighs, “i get it, but one more question, do you know where we’re going?”
“maa-kun you don’t trust me..? i’m a little hurt…” ritsu cooed at his friend, giving him those puppy-like eyes filled with sparkles in which it screams ‘adorable.’ his royal knight, flinches, and then shakes his head, “o-oh no, no, no…! my apologies…”
ritsu chuckles before facing back to the view in front of him, the sight of each folks going around town, shopping from nearby markets and food stalls along with the children running around the place. “the reason why i decided to buy the roses instead is because only i know where miss agnes buys the flowers for my garden.” isara glances back at ritsu with a slight surprised look on his face. “miss agnes? oh yeah, the one we would always see in the royal garden area. it’s a shame, really…i got quite upset when i heard the news of her passing…” ritsu hears him say, before going back to being silent.
the two of them kept walking front, ignoring the whispers of some people behind their back as they finally made it into the flower shop. the flower shop did change over the years. miss agnes would often tell both isara and ritsu how the flower shop was a little small before during her times when ritsu’s grandparents took over the throne—although now, it was much more bigger than before. the flowers that decorated over the shop designed like vines over trees and some were displayed from side-to-side, allowing passing citizens to admire their beauty. ritsu turns over to isara who looked back at him, “you stay guard here, i’ll be the one heading inside. it won’t take long…”
“huh? are you sure you don’t want me to come with you?”
“i’ll be fine~ you can watch over me from here. like i said, it won’t take long, maa-kun~” ritsu responded before playfully flicking the other male’s forehead. isara held the area where ritsu flicked him, and watched as his prince headed right inside the small flower shop, carefully avoiding the flowers that were too close. as ritsu entered right in, the scent of flowers were bombarded everywhere towards his nostrils. it was amazing, he won’t lie. no wonder why agnes decided to buy new bouquets here instead of the other flower shops. steadily, he walked towards the counter to be greeted by an old lady who seemed excited to see the prince.
“oh my great heavens, your highness! w-welcome to my flower shop…! what a rare opportunity for someone from the royal family to visit us—o-oh..! apologies, where are my manners? i-is there anything you’d like for us to give to you, your highness?” the old lady questions, stammering on her words with a bow. ritsu bows as well, smiling softly, “lovely afternoon. i would like a bouquet of your most fresh roses, please, if available,” he requested, and the old lady winces, “a-ah..! yes one bouquet of fresh roses coming up—uhh, y-y/n..! quick…! a bouquet of roses, honey..! it’s for the prince..!” the old lady shrieks to an individual whom ritsu couldn’t see from behind the large bombarded area of flowers and tall potted plants. with that, the old woman sent ritsu a smile before disappearing behind the flowers that block some views from the shop.
how odd. do folks like these usually not meet any royal attendants in person? ritsu was certain agnes knew this place quite well as a maid working in the sakuma palace for almost 30 years. yet again, he is one of the princes of the sakuma bloodline—and as one of the next prince to claim the throne soon, ritsu wasn’t sure if he’d be doing a good job in doing that.
“sorry for the wait, your highness…!”
the thoughts were quick to shaken off as a voice cuts through into his head, clear as day. appearing out from the side—a florist, who was around his age came out, holding a new fresh bouquet of flowers on their hands along with their hair flowing by into the direction where the wind blew.
ritsu felt like his world stopped at the moment their eyes met. all of a sudden, he felt warm and fuzzy at the inside of his stomach. the feeling of butterflies flying in his stomach almost made him fall down on his knees. his cheeks grew warm, and his red eyes were wide opened. the florist calmly fixed their appearance before taking a bow before the stunned prince. “i apologize for making you wait, your highness. here is your bouquet of roses. they’re newly fresh. i just cut them not too long ago,” the person says, a bright smile lingering of their face. ritsu wasn’t able to respond quick to their words, he was so distracted by their looks that he grew speechless.
h/l h/c hair, e/c eyes and with beautiful s/c skin…such perfection crafted by the hands of not only angels but by god themself. ritsu was indeed…attracted by their beauty. a simple florist working in a small flower shop. someone more lovely than each flower in a garden. nothing was compared—
“your highness?”
“huh?” ritsu was snapped back into reality just like that. the florist tilts their head, a little perplexed of what just happened to the prince. “is everything alright, your highness?”
‘their voice sounds so tender…something you could just fall asleep with…’
“oh, y-yes. apologies, i spaced out a bit there—here’s the payment,” ritsu took out the money his mother had lend to him onto the florist’s hands, trying his best not to stutter out with his words to show glimpses of nervousness. the florist once again, smiles at the male, and ritsu swore he saw heaven before his eyes. “thank you very much, your highness. please handle these roses with care.”
“will do. thank you too very much as well. these roses are divine, it looked like you tend to these very nicely. i’m impressed,” he says to the florist who bashfully laughs. “i-it’s not much, your highness. i’m a florist after all, it’s my job to take care of flowers and other plants to sell. we’re not here just for the tokens after all,” they say, and ritsu hums. no wonder agnes liked buying in this particular flower shop. unlike the other flower shops, this one doesn’t just do it for grand tokens or money—they really do love taking of flowers. and not only that, an attractive florist with a big passion for this type of job worked here as well.
“well then, i shall take my leave now back to the castle. once again, i am grateful for your hard work.”
“you are most welcome, your highness..! please do come back anytime.” the florist replies before bowing down. they had such a bubbly personality, friendly is what he’d like to mark it. he had just met them yet he felt like he and this person would get along very well. just as he was about to leave, ritsu stopped his tracks and turned around once again, his face a little red, “oh and hey.”
“yes, your highness…?”
“i haven’t heard your name, yet. pardon me, but…is it alright if i ask for your name?” ritsu says, his breath a little shaken. oh boy, this was the moment he’d waited for. there was a second pause before the florist smiles widely and says, “ah, i apologize for forgetting. my name is y/n, your highness.” they say with another bow.
those words repeated on his head. ‘y/n…what a pretty name. i’ll make sure to remember that…’
“y/n. what a lovely name. well then, y/n, i’d be delighted if i see you again one day. farewell…” and just like that the prince headed out of the store, not bothering to turn around to the two people inside waving goodbye. when he exited, isara was still there as asked. and when the royal knight noticed his presence, he was quick to question.
“finally. what took you so long inside there?” isara began. ritsu ignores him, eyes focused on the bouquet of roses handed to him by the lovely y/n. with that thought, his heart pounds a little, “y/n…”
“what?”
ritsu turns to his royal knight and smiles cheekily, cheeks turning into a blush pink. “nothing~” he replies to isara who rose a brow in curiosity. instead, ritsu hands the bouquet into isara’s arms as he began walking away, a small smile still lingered on his face like a permanent grin, “hold them for me, will ya…? c’mon, maa-kun. let’s head back.”
isara follows from behind, sighing as he held the roses properly in his arms. “you look happy. did something happened inside?”
“secret~”
“oh come on, you never hid secrets from me…!”
the two had a loud chatter on their way back to the palace. the king and queen were both bewildered of why their son was happy throughout the entire day.

the day of the royal ball had arrived.
royals from all different kingdoms had been invited along with all the citizens in the kingdom ruled by the sakuma family were allowed to come in the palace for the ball—in order to look for a perfect wife for rei.
ritsu was disinterested into this idea. yet at the same time, a certain person who he had been thinking about all week might be invited, too, with that thought ritsu was a little excited. he hopes y/n would arrive. the only main reason he decided to join in the party.
“so, any special guests arriving from different kingdoms?”
“prince leo tsukinaga from the tsukinaga family and prince tsukasa suou from the suou family, are both arriving with their royal knights izumi sena and arashi narukami. also along with prince subaru from the akehoshi family and prince hokuto from the famous hidaka family will be arriving as well with their royal guardians makoto yuuki and hajime shino.”
“well at least they’re coming…another reason to come along this ball party.” ritsu fixes his posture as isara calmly brushes his hair, along with fixing his attire for the royal ball party tonight.
“oh—and also, prince keito from the hasumi family with his two royal knights souma and kuro kiryu will be arriving as well to pay a visit to your brother. they’ve known each other since childhood if i remember quite well.”
“not like i care. keito is already skilled enough with the blade, i’m a little buzzed of why he needs two knight guards.”
“that saying much. look at your brother, he has one royal knight and two servants. twin pairs of you’d like to add it up…” isara says with a soft chuckle.
“meh. but i just wanna see my other friends again..i bet se-chan would wander over the palace along with prince leo to look for your friend. his name again…?”
“makoto, his name is makoto. considering they’ll be both arriving with their highnesses, i’m sure your prediction would be true,” isara replies, laughing a little. “also about prince leo, isn’t he going to have a coronation next month for his title as the king?” the royal knight questioned next. ritsu hums. “oh yeah…we should come over and visit him. we should also get him some presents to spoil him even more after he takes over his family kingdom’s throne. ahh~ i can’t believe how fast time pasts. i remembered the days he was just one loud prince roaming around the hallways of the palace. heh~”
“it’s crazy how it’s time for him to descend to the throne for the tsukinaga family. not to mention of how mature prince leo actually is as a prince once you get on his serious side…” isara comments, in which ritsu simply hummed in reply. he felt young when he’s around other princes. ritsu had no idea why, it was just a feeling he disliked despite being older than some of them. same age even. once the two were finished in getting ready, the clock struck at 6pm—meaning the ball was about to begin shortly.
dozens of guests had already arrived at the palace. some were even unmarried princesses coming in their best gowns to impress the one and only prince sakuma rei. familiar faces had also attended, like prince tsukasa who greeted ritsu with a warm embrace along with arashi, his royal knight. prince keito had also arrived shortly after, looking mature as always as he headed straight to visit rei at his room. duke adonis had arrived with a present for ritsu’s brother, and when one of rei’s guards, koga—saw him, he immediately shook his hand and walked away to follow him to where rei was currently at.
most of the visitors are not close with the second prince. and at the moment, it was only prince tsukasa, arashi, prince leo (soon to be king), and his royal knight izumi in ritsu’s room, getting ready and well rested before the huge party begins. not only were their presence made ritsu comfortable around them, but the way the topics they talked about was so familiar to his ears that it was satisfying for him to stay with them. isara had headed off to see prince hidaka who had arrived with prince subaru down the party that had begun.
“prince leo, please do watch your words…you’re going to be king soon, you mustn’t act like that.”
“i can’t help it…! not only did that prince tori got me into another word from my father but he even got his royal servant involved with our business…! argh..” leo leans down on his seat, crossing his arms as he muttered a few curses underneath his breath in complaint. “this is why i hate when the himemiya family comes to visit my father for a few royal talks…”
“yuzuru is not just an excellent servant for his highness tori but also a great knight. i’m a little jealous with his skills if i’m being honest,” izumi cuts in, comfortably resting his arm on top of the chair leo was sitting on. arashi hops in as well, still keeping her straight posture as she stood next to tsukasa, “a great knight and a good looking knight~! i’m jealous of the prince tori having such a handsome man like him to be his royal servant and knight…!” she exclaims, caressing both of her cheeks in awe.
“i can imagine dancing around the ballroom in the most beautiful dress…oh how i wish i was a princess…”
“i can request one of our personal dress makers to make you an outfit that’s similar to a dress if you want, narukami,” prince tsukasa tells the royal knight who bowed respectfully before him, “no need to, my prince. i’m perfectly fine the way i am. beautiful and brave.”
“that’s the spirit.”
“hey guys…i think we should head down now. the royal ball’s about to begin.” izumi began to fix his attire and waited for leo along with the others to stand up and head down as well. ritsu almost fell asleep on his bed, but good thing prince leo was able to wake him up.
the ballroom was exquisite. with a thousand glamour of each chandelier hanging from the ceilings, food placed across every table cooked by the most talented chefs in the palace, and not to mention the stunning women that arrived to hopes to be chosen to become rei’s wife for tonight’s royal ball. with a blink of an eye, everyone went in separate directions, leaving ritsu standing by his own. leo and izumi went straight to the food table, while tsukasa and arashi were both cornered by sudden strikes of conversations. and as for ritsu…he was bored. and alone. besides, the person he longed to see, was nowhere near his eye sight. with a yawn escaping his lips, he decided to just head outside as the party inside continued.
the air from the royal garden never failed to bring a smile upon ritsu’s face when entering. just the scent was enough to make him feel energized than before, striking up a straight posture as he made his way towards the roses section. he loved being alone at the royal garden. whether isara was available or not, he loves it. it was cold night, the sounds of loud crickets echoing in the wind while the other side was the loud blasts of classical music performing. he could some strangers’ loud chatting from out here, and ritsu grew a little annoyed. if only they would mimic their voices a little lower then that would be brilliant.
the male continued to walk down the path of purple tulips, with the most gorgeous patterned he had seen in the garden. his fingers brushed their soft petals, reminding him like a touch of a pillow case. he laughs at the thought, until his eyes caught a figure not too far away. ritsu stops right at his tracks.
‘hold on…they look…familiar…’ ritsu slowly adjusted his eyes. thank goodness the moon was shining bright tonight. within a further inspection, ritsu felt his heart racing like before.
the figure…it was them. it was y/n.
he can feel himself smile. he could’ve hardly recognized them. their attire…they looked so…amazing. with their hair fixed and a little brushed to the back, eyes looking to only the flower that seemed to be a peonie that lies around the other bushes. how their eyes reflected so tenderly beneath the moonlight that illuminated—ritsu felt like he was hypnotized by their appearance. he didn’t even felt like walking towards them due to how nervous he felt.
well, his prayers were definitely answered when y/n turns their head to his direction and immediately stood back up. “y-your highness…!” they say, a little startled as they bowed at ritsu, politely. “i’m really sorry if i somehow entered the garden area. i just couldn’t help it, i-i didn’t want to enter the palace just yet and—
“shh..” ritsu shushes them, a finger on his lips. y/n obliges. “it’s alright. no need to apologize, this area is allowed. for you that is…” now having enough courage to walk next to their side. y/n sheepishly fiddled with their fingers, eyes darting away from ritsu whom they thought was looking at them. turns out he was looking at the peonies.
“i don’t really like peonies…but they are pretty i must agree. miss agnes told me once that peonies can grow big and gobble me up if i don’t eat my vegetables…heh, i can’t believe i actually believed that….though, i was just a toddler during that time so i can’t really blame myself either…”
y/n looks at ritsu who then looked back at them, eyes meeting with one another. “miss agnes? oh wait, she sounds familiar..!” y/n spoke. ritsu smiles, looking over to the moon, “she was the garden taker here before at the palace. so whenever i visit the royal garden for a nap, i would see her taking care of the flowers no matter how many they are. but sadly…she passed away…”
“oh…i’m sorry.”
“you don’t have to be. it’s not like we’re that close. yet…yeah, i do kinda miss her…” ritsu’s face shifted into a frown, and the two were once again, clouded with silence. y/n didn’t know what to say. they were a little bewildered off what to tell the prince in order to give him some kind of comfort. they weren’t good at them…
“the roses..”
“huh?”
ritsu turns his face to y/n and smiles. “come with me, i want to show you were i placed the roses i bought from your store.” with a hand reached out, the intrigued florist took the prince’s hand, and they both sped out of the peonies section, onwards the rose garden. it was like a fairy tale, with the moon dancing underneath their faces that glows, y/n’s eyes could only follow prince ritsu’s hand that held on theirs, heart skipping beats.
as the two arrived to the rose garden, y/n’s eyes stopped to look at the entire bouquet of roses placed neatly on each collection, shaping into hearts and other shapes that caught her visible attention. the florist mouthed a small ‘wow,’ absolutely mesmerized by the sight. so…this was what the royal garden looked liked. so fancy, pretty and…mouth dropping. miss agnes and the other servants that took care of this garden indeed did a splendid job. “i like taking naps in here. if i don’t feel comfortable in my bedroom at afternoons, then i would sleep here in the rose garden. it’s more relaxing in the afternoon.” y/n somehow notices that when they saw an area on the side that’s able for someone to nap on.
“i see…”
“so, what made you attend this party? you certainly don’t look like someone to go out and wear amazing clothing.”
y/n lets out a sigh before answering. “after you visited, my grandmother heard the announcement of the royal ball that’ll be held next week. she thought that maybe i would make an amazing guest for the ballroom, since ‘we gave the most beautiful roses to his highness.”
ritsu chuckles, “is that so? then maybe your grandmother isn’t wrong.”
“you’re right, your highness. i don’t like going to events like this. i’d rather stay at home and help her work in the shop. my grandma could be so stubborn sometimes…she’s already old yet she still works so hard and often makes me head to bed first before she does…” y/n slowly sits down on a bench made out of stone, while ritsu did the same. “i work extra hard so that she won’t overwork herself. losing my grandmother is the last thing i’d want in this world…whenever she’d work a lot i start to feel worthless…it’s a pain sometimes, your highness…”
“don’t feel that way. look, you’re working extra hard just for her, you should feel better for that, already. it may not be noticeable, and i know i don’t always visit your flower shop, but i bet she’s proud of how determined you are just for her…” y/n’s eyes went wide a little, however they closed as they smiled softly. “t-thank you ever much for your words, your highness. that made me feel a little better…”
the conversation stopped when the sounds of violin and the cello began to play inside of the palace doors. the sounds of everyone’s footsteps in position, and the sounds of people dancing begun to run around ritsu’s ears in surprise.
ah, of course. it was time for the dance.
standing up, ritsu lends his hand in front of y/n who seemed stunned by the sudden action. with a deep breath, ritsu says, “the music is playing. now, may i have this dance with you, y/n?”
“eh? m-me?”
“well who else am i asking? it’s just the two of us in here. don’t worry, i wanna dance with you.”
y/n felt their cheeks heating up. as they took the prince’s hand, ritsu helps them stand up and now the two of them were in dancing positions. the music began to coordinate inside the room, and as it did, ritsu begun to lead the dance, making y/n yelp by how fast he was at doing so. the fear of stepping in a royal’s foot was on their mind at the moment. but ritsu cuts that off, “it’s fine. if you don’t know how to dance that is…” y/n blushes in small embarrassment. ritsu chuckles.
the two spun around blissfully in the garden, only the stars and heaven watching as the two danced beneath the moonlight. eyes staring at nothing else but at each other. it indeed came out straight from a fairy tail. a florist and a prince. how almost so cliche. but so lovely.
when the music stopped, the two stopped dancing as well—catching their breaths with small smiles. ritsu sends the florist a beam, and y/n smiles back.
“may i have another dance with you, y/n?”
“yes you may, my prince.”

PGR S Vera Character Profile
Hello! I'm back again with another PGR Character Profile. This time, it's S Vera! I am working on the backlogs of Character Profile and will post most of what's translated. There will be missing information for those released in JP server and I'll be adding those missing pieces when I unlock them. For the future characters that are released on the CN Bili server however, will be marked as beta as I'm transcribing what they say by ear so do take whatever I translate with a grain of salt and not use that as a measure of what is correct.

Truth be told, this wasn't the first time this model was used. Before it was officially admitted, Vera used this model under Nikola's orders to complete a particular "mission." As the model itself is an Armored-type Structure model, it's more fit toward breaching the front lines alone as well as combat against Structures in comparison to her Support-type Structure model, Cruel Radiance.

Fulfill the mission you have to accomplish, and annihilate the enemy you have to defeat—those are Vera's principles. The phrase "have to" in those principles is something no one but Vera herself, has decided on as part of both her aesthetic and responsibility.

Considering the extent of Vera's proficiency, although this model's default equipment uses the same katana as her Cruel Radiance model, the slimness of the blade is ill-suited for the model's combat style. It was changed to the current flagpole spear as suggested by Vera herself.

There are several irregular parts included in the production of this model. Even though there weren't any notable difficulties during the regular maintenance, Bridgette from the Support Unit still warns Vera to not hurt herself as much as possible. It seemed to be ineffective, unfortunately.

Vera procured parts and supplies they normally wouldn't get through a highly classified route for No. 21 and Noctis. As much as she thought the two of them didn't know about it, both No. 21 and Noctis were only pretending they don't know.

The power of the model itself is tricky to control and Vera crushed the cup she was using with her bare hands when she just had changed models. The people around her, however, thought that she was threatening them by crushing the cup.

According to No. 21's observation findings, at least 36% of the Structure soldiers seemed to have thought that Vera was "less frightening than before" after she changed to her latest model.

Vera prefers to do bothersome work for last—she also leaves the troublesome enemies for last and thoroughly enjoys finishing them off.

No matter how many times Nikola warns Vera, she would speak condescendingly to the people who came to pick a fight with her and hurt their pride rather than resort to violence, preferring to see their infuriated faces.

According to Vera herself, she still hasn't fully grasped the trick of when to use her spear during battle so she added a swift kick in her combat style to supplement it. In reality, both its stylishness and utility have gone up because of that.

Vera occasionally goes to watch a stage play of the World Administration's Arts Association alone, but she sits at a vacant corner and silently appreciates the show, vanishing from sight right before the applause from the audience ends.

Although she hasn't relied on No. 21 and Noctis, both of them seem to bring home information about the Gray Raven's commander from time to time because "their captain is interested in the Commander."

When Maa~kun’s not around, I’m always alone.
You think it’s already lively enough over there? Then I suppose we’re left with no choice – you’re stuck with me now ♪

It doesn’t matter if I tell you now. The materials have been collected, and the ‘secret’ has been set in motion… ♪
The book earlier this afternoon – the ‘cookbook’ was merely a cover. It’s actually a ‘book of magic’.
If you want to call forth a ‘miracle’, you’d need to go to a source of water that can foster the appearance of fireflies – that’s what the book said, and that’s why I’m here to collect water.
The ‘magic’ seems to be really powerful too. I wonder who left these kinds of books on the ‘floor’?
Luckily, it’s me who found it first. Normal people who pick this up may end up losing their way. Super duper dangerous ♪
Sigh… It’s really not because the water in this stream is most suitable for making sweets. I’ve literally never heard of fireflies liking clear and sweet water.
That’s quite a rude thought.
What a defiant expression. As it is, I have no intention of squabbling with a teenager, so how about I tell you a little more?
‘Producer’, did you know that fireflies are the spirits of the deceased?
The reason why sacrifical ceremonies are held during ‘Firefly Appreciation’ is precisely to appease the spirits of those who have passed on.
I’m not lying to you. Look – don’t you think the flickering of the fireflies resemble that of will-o’-the-wisps?
Who knows, maybe a lot of people have met their end here?
Because of the unnecessary grudges that you humans hold… or perhaps accidentally hitting their head on the rocks and falling into the water with an “Aaah—” ♪
All of these deceased still have lingering attachments to ‘this side’ of the world; after their passing, they’re reluctant to enter the cycle of reincarnation[1], and instead choose to wander amongst the humans.
As such, they’re able to exist almost like a living human, even though they’re already dead. Their remaining brilliance could add a touch of warmth to the world, and the thoughts that have yet to be expressed could be conveyed to some extent—
Hm? Of course, that’s impossible ♪
The light from the fireflies and will-o’-the-wisps are the same – they lack warmth.
‘That world’ and ‘this world’ are isolated from each other, destined to be left without means of communication. Just like how my world is incompatible with yours.
The souls of the dead can only wander alone, forever unable to break through the invisible barriers.
Even so……
Guess I should say he’s an idiot…? Heheh, it’s like I’m the only one who shouldn’t be saying that ♪
All in all, it’s supposed to be a very very very difficult task, something that’s simply impossible to achieve.
But still, he said something about wanting to drag me into that warmer world too.
I don’t really remember anymore… I think I’ve rejected him before, and I probably did stop quite a few times along the way.
And even went as far as to hurt him.
But he never gave up, and has been working hard every single day.
Why did he do this…? The reason is no longer important.
I… Even though I don’t want to admit it… It’s thanks to my brother that I, at the very least, am able to understand this one thing.
For someone else to treat me like that… I can’t not respond to the benevolence and the expectations that have been placed upon me. Cowering in my own little world isn’t an option either.
It’s precisely because I’m an old person who isn’t getting any younger – that’s why there are things that I particularly don’t want to lose, ideas that I sincerely hope to pass on.
Only teenagers would think that they have unlimited amounts of time and an infinite number of chances…
If you blindly cling onto other people’s intiatives… It doesn’t matter how passionate the other party is. You’ll be left disappointed and burnt out at the very end.
Although I do fear a lot of things… What I hate the most, would be to become something akin to those ‘lingering ghosts without a family to pray for them’[2], ghosts who can only wander around in vain.
So, I thought to start with things I’m already an expert in, and try to reach out.
It’ll be fine, ‘Producer’, there’s no need to worry. You’ve eaten them before, yes? The cakes that I’ve baked ♪
Their appearance may be a little shocking to you, but I’m confident as long as you try a bite ♪
You think so too? I’m relieved. Because ‘Producer’ has always been awfully close to Maa~kun.
You’ve been close to him the day you transferred to our school, you’ve been close to him during ‘DDD’, and you’re close to him even now.
But, I don’t know why… Recently, I’ve started to feel that it’s okay if it’s you, ‘Producer’.
So… Whatever I told you just now, you need to help me keep it a secret from Maa~kun, okay?
I only told you all of this because I trust you wholeheartedly ♪
If, somehow, Maa~kun finds out about it… I’ll use other methods to punish you, ‘Producer’. I know more than one type of ‘magic’…… ☆
You promise? As expected, ‘Producer’ really is a good kid, mhm, there there ♪

Turns out that there’s nothing in ‘this world’ that will remain unchanging… be it creatures, humans, or interpersonal relationships.
Summer has only just begun, but it’ll be over in the blink of an eye.
Things that remain unchanged… they’ll lose out on time, and they are unable to welcome the future. Eventually, they’ll be abandoned by ‘this world’.
Aah, my goodness. To me… there’s probably nothing more troublesome than what I’ve just said… ♪

Cartoon Network Hotel Review- Take 2
You know you’ve made it when you’re here.
Just about a month ago, I had my second stay at the Cartoon Network Hotel. I reviewed my previous trip here, and not a lot has changed since then. But I do have some more things to add from my stay this time.
First of all, this time I got a Powerpuff Girls room.
Looks nice, right? This wasn’t really one of my choices, but Gumball and Adventure Time were taken, at least with showers. I do love PPG, but only Craig McCracken’s run, and this represents the 2016 revival that I think pales in comparison. But it was still comfy, and the art was nice to look at.
Also, check out my view! Much better than my previous room, which had me out on the street.
This time, my top priority was to lay low, as I had just finished a heavy season of work and wanted to relax with some good cartoons before my festival the next day. As such, I kept the FanFavs channel on the entire time, and it showed the same series on a loop:

I think there was a pattern of which shows aired, but I didn’t quite crack it. And there did seem to be a limitation on what episodes were shown. I recall seeing the Craig episode where he abandons his warm clothes in the snow at least twice. I did occasionally switch to the the New Shows channel and saw bits of Victor & Valentino, Thundercats Roar! and Tig n Seek. Maybe also Apple & Onion? I get the feeling that these exclusive channels haven’t been touched since the hotel’s start up in 2020, so it’ll be interesting to hear if things changed.
A lot of what I experienced back in September remained the same, but a couple of experiences were available now that weren’t then, as this was meant to be peak season. Primarily, we got to do outdoor screenings.
Here’s the fire as we sat next to the giant Finn hat that played cartoons. They played one episode each of We Bare Bears, Craig of the Creek, Teen Titans Go! and Total Dramarama. I asked the person in charge of the projector, and he says that they have 3 DVDs that they rotate through. I’ve now seen two, as my previous stay had 3/4 shows, except replace WBB with Gumball, and all with different episodes. I wonder what the other DVD had.
This time I was able to have breakfast, and I got what they called character pancakes.

Do those sprinkles look familiar? It’s a shame that they didn’t add pink.
Besides Gumball, they had the option to do Adventure Time, We Bare Bears, Teen Titans Go! and something else, I think Steven Universe. It’s a cute option and the pancakes are rightfully tasty.
They also had arts and crafts, where you were able to make a bag and design it to look like one of your favorite characters. They’ll draw the character’s silhouette on a paper bag and give you paints to fit everything in. I did Gumball, but I never got my bag back. Ah well, they let me do it for free, anyway.
I said before that I probably wouldn’t go back here, yet I did. That’s mainly because it was much cheaper for me to book this extra day in PA, and it would have cost me almost as much as my trip to the CN Hotel to go a day later, so why not? It was fun, but I really do think this is my last time unless they seriously update it.
I wouldn’t change my previous review. I think this is fun, but it’s really meant for today’s kids and not for older Cartoon Network fans like us. I did see a few families have a good time, including one whose one child only seemed familiar with the Cartoonito content, which means that must be catching on. Good!
If you’re in the area, definitely give it a look. Check out the gift shop, or maybe the arcade and spend almost as much as I did trying to win a TTG! plushie (good luck). But unless this really sounds like something you need to experience, and you’re young at heart enough, I wouldn’t recommend staying.

Banri: With flowers in the room, the atmosphere will become more lively.

1st Anniversary and Exclusive Cards
It’s been a few months since this announcement now!
What would the new original cards be and what would implementing them into the EN server look like? 🤔
I think we’re still a long few months away from getting these cards but I can’t say I’m not excited to see what we get! In order to think about how this will happen in EN server, let’s take a look at how the other servers implemented their own server exclusive cards!
For all of these servers, the cards were usually announced around or tied into the 1st Anniversary event, “3 Cheers for Mankai Company!” (as named in EN, the original name in JPN being “Let’s Bloom! Cheer MANKAI ☆”. As per rule on this blog, I will be referring to it by its EN name and shorten it to “3 Cheers” from here on.) The only server to not have “exclusive” cards from this event was the JPN server, being the main server and already having many cards that have not been distributed outside of Japan through events, collaborations, and album releases.
3 Cheers first ran in the JPN server from January 12th 2018 to January 22nd 2018 to celebrate the 1st Anniversary release of the game (January 27th 2017). This was the first (and only) “Cheer” event (“Support” in JPN), which was unique even to Anniversary events because of the exclusive voting, or “cheer” mechanic. During the event, alongside earning points, you could earn cheers to send to your favorite boys and unlock special badges for them. They also counted as votes towards the character, and the top 10 characters’ vote rankings were posted partway through the event on January 16th, and final rankings were announced February 4th following the event.
The top ten characters got special character goods and the top three characters got “Choice Scout SELECTION” gachas! A Choice Scout is a one time only paid scout with rate ups of previous gacha cards of the specified character! Along with the ten cards from the gacha, you would also receive a “Choice Medal” to exchange for any of these specified character cards at the Trading Post (ex. if you pulled from the Itaru Choice Scout Selection, you would be able to exchange your medal for SSR [Office Worker Santa] Itaru Chigasaki or SR [Don’t Jinx It] Itaru Chigasaki, among other Itaru cards).
In this case, the top 3 characters were Itaru in first, Banri in second, and Misumi in third, so all three of them got Choice Scouts! Itaru’s Choice Scout ran from March 1st to March 5th, Banri’s ran from April 2nd to April 6th, and Misumi’s ran from May 1st to May 4th.
Not only that, but the top ranking character from each troupe were added as the cast to A3!’s first ever Mixed Troupe event, “I Come with the Night.” with Itaru in the starring role, Banri as the co-lead, Misumi as supporting cast A, and Tsumugi as supporting cast B. With this being a performance event, Itaru and Banri also got SSRs drawn by Ryo Fujiwara! This event ran from October 17th 2018 to October 26th 2018.
(Side note: this Anniversary event seemed to be a bit stressful for fans since there were only rewards for half of the cast, and many were disappointed to let down the boys that did not win. This could be one of the reasons that following Anniversary events do not have this character ranking element.)
The next server that held 3 Cheers was the TN server, with the event running from August 15th 2019 to August 25th 2019 to celebrate the 1st Anniversary release of June 2018. (It possibly came a bit late due to other event/gacha scheduling conflicts.) The event ran virtually the same as it did in JPN with the ranking results announced on October 25th. Where this event differs from the JPN version is that it was announced that the top three characters got region exclusive cards to the TN server, with first place Itaru getting an SSR, second place Masumi getting an SR, and third place Misumi getting an R card!
(Funnily enough, the results mirror the midway results from the JPN server, with Itaru, Masumi, and Misumi being the top three.)
The TN exclusive cards were released in the same Choice Scout SELECTION gachas that the JPN version had. These were only obtainable through the Choice Medal at the Trading Post. Misumi’s Choice Scout ran from February 13th to February 18th 2020, Masumi’s ran from March 4th to March 8th, and Itaru’s ran from March 13th to March 17th.
The TN server also got the I Come with the Night event from April 7th to April 16th and all the cards that came with it, despite the featured characters being the winners from the JPN server’s ranking contest (If the winners were to match the TN server’s ranking, the cast would have been Itaru, Misumi, Tsumugi, and Sakyo). This of course makes complete sense as I imagine it would be difficult to implement a full exclusive event for each server, especially with how long it took to release the event story and play in the JPN server and with the differences in scheduling that each event has.
(Side note: the Masumi banner seems to be an error with the colors and flower motif being Itaru’s gerberas rather than Masumi’s violets.)
The CN server was released November 14th 2019 and celebrated its anniversary July 22nd 2020 to August 1st. (It seemed to celebrate the anniversary early in order to preserve story chronologic order because they’re going through events much quicker than the JPN server did.) The ranking of the top ten characters was announced August 3rd 2020. Like the TN server, the top three characters in their rankings got CN server exclusive cards made by the Japanese dev team! The top three were once again Itaru in first place getting an SSR, Masumi in second place getting an SR, and Misumi in third place getting an R card!
The CN server also got a special illustration drawn by Ryo Fujiwara and an exclusive special event PV written by story writer Tom was released online!
The exclusive cards were announced February 8th 2021, as part of their Chinese New Year/Spring Festival campaign! They were once again released in the Choice Scout SELECTION gachas, with Itaru’s, Masumi’s, and Misumi’s Choice Scouts all running February 12th to February 18th. Just like the TN server, these cards were obtainable through Choice Medals exchanged at the Trading Post!
So far, the I Come with the Night event has not dropped in the CN server but it seems likely that it will proceed as a normal event with the JPN ranking cast.
So... what does that mean for the EN server?
The EN server was released October 23rd 2019 and celebrated its Anniversary with the 3 Cheers event running from October 15th to October 25th 2020. The event was nearly identical to every others’ server with the notable distinction of there not being a cheer ranking component to the event. It is unclear why this part was not included into the Anniversary event, (maybe Cybird had difficulty working under COVID restrictions or they wanted to avoid the popularity vote?) so many fans cheered for as many characters as they could rather than pouring all their cheers into their favorite. Around this time, Cybird also released a survey in-game asking fans how they felt about certain elements of the game. Some questions in particular asked what were your top three characters from the game.
Towards the end of the event, Cybird revealed the above announcement that Ryo Fujiwara would be designing “new original cards for the English version scheduled for a 2021 release!” on October 23rd. Since then, there have been no announcements on what these cards will be like, who they are of, how they will be released, etc. But, based on what we know of the other three servers, we can make some educated guesses:

So, who will the cards be of?
Since there was no voting announced in the Anniversary event for EN version, I don’t think they will use the Cheer points to determine who gets exclusive cards. This is probably for the best because the cards won’t be determined only by the players who spend the most in-game. However, because the survey asked for players’ top favorite characters, I believe they would use these results to determine the characters who get exclusive cards. This is a much more fair way to “vote” for characters because even F2P players and players who do not use social media were able to vote for their favs, and avoided mass voting because it was accessed through the players’ game.
Another option would be for Cybird or Liber themselves to decide who gets the cards. This doesn’t involve the players so I don’t know if they would actually do this but it’s still a possibility.
The last option would be for them to give new cards for all the characters. This would be the most fair and would probably generate the most money for them if all of them were available for paid gems, but it would definitely be a lot of work for a server that isn’t the main JPN one.
Of these all, using the survey results makes the most sense to me because they specifically asked for your top three characters (I wish I still had screenshots O|￣|_). Once again, it would make sense to eliminate the problems with the cheer rankings. Deciding on their own does not seem like something they would do and as much as I’d love every character to get a pretty new card, I don’t see why the EN server should get special treatment over the CN or the TN ones that only has three each for this event. It’s still a possibility though because the EN server is available across more countries, but I don’t think it reaches more players than the CN or the JPN server. So for now, let’s assume the new cards would go to the most voted characters of the survey.
The hitch to this idea though is mentioning Ryo Fujiwara, the lead character designer of A3! I think they did not draw any of the other exclusive cards, and only contributed to the CN server’s commemorative art. Their art is also only used in SR and SSR cards, I believe. They’ve done album covers that have been redeemed as SR cards in-game and does all of the performance event cards, which are all SSRs. If Cybird are having them draw these cards, these cards would definitely be very special and would most likely not include any R cards. This would mean that these exclusive cards will already be very different from the other servers’ cards.
How will these cards be implemented?
One theory I saw come up is that maybe EN server will have an exclusive performance event like how I Come with the Night was created as a result of the 1st Anniversary. While the fact that Fujiwara-sensei is drawing these cards support that idea because both the gacha and event SSRs would be drawn by them, I don’t know if Cybird has the liberty or capability to add something as major as a whole in-game event. The CN server had an interactive PV hosted on bilibili even though the scenario was written by Tom, the main story writer of A3!, which shows that even semi-canon events in other servers are not usually added to the game outside of the backstage stories of said exclusive cards. It would also be put in the middle of the timeline which would make formatting the server weird (already there have been some oddities from the timeline being off from the release dates of the JPN server) and would have to not further the characters’ development in a way that contradicts whats farther ahead in the timeline. What I love about A3! is that a lot of the interactions and conversations are remembered and referred back to in other cards and event stories so to have a whole event and not furthering the characters and have it not affect the three years the JPN server has on the EN server seems difficult to me. Plus, performance events in particular usually end up voiced and have play songs which I think would be a hassle to have to record for in a server the actors themselves don’t even play. I’d love it if they did and it would explain the wait time for these cards (plus it wouldn’t be too hard to skim over character development anyways since the I-Chu and PSYCHO PASS events were exclusive and I think the I-Chu event at least isn’t even canon?) and maybe it doesn’t even have to be a performance event but I do not think it will go this way.
Until we get more information, I assume that the exclusive cards will be released in the same way that the TN and the CN exclusive cards were by trading in a Choice Medal obtained from the Choice Scout SELECTION gachas. I also assume that the previous survey will decide which characters will get these exclusive cards. If anything, I hope the only difference the EN server gets is that since the cards are designed by Fujiwara-sensei, the cards will all be SRs and SSRs. I’m still unsure completely about the number of cards, but hopefully there will be more of them.
When will we hear more about these cards?
The JPN server concluded 3 Cheers on January 22nd 2018, announced rankings on February 4th, and had character Choice Scouts starting with Itaru in March. The highest voted character from each troupe were featured in I Come with the Night which ran in October. So ranking was announced under two weeks, Scout gachas started the month after, and the Mixed Troupe event ran nine months after the Anniversary.
The TN server concluded 3 Cheers on August 25th 2019, announced rankings on October 25th, and had character Choice Scouts starting with Misumi in February. I Come with the Night ran in April. So ranking was announced two months later, Scout gachas started four months after this announcement, and the Mixed Troupe event ran eight months after the Anniversary.
The CN server concluded 3 Cheers on August 1st 2020, announced rankings on August 3rd, and had character Choice Scouts all starting Febuary 2021. So ranking was announced two days later and Scout gacha started six months after this announcement.
The EN server concluded 3 Cheers on October 25th 2020. It has no rankings as of now (February 20th 2021, four month later) and therefore does not have Choice Scouts yet.
JPN had the shortest amount of time between the end of the Anniversary event and the beginning of Choice Scouts with only about a month in between. However, JPN did not need exclusive cards and did not implement the winners until I Come with the Night nine months later. Meanwhile, even though it took TN server two months to announce ranking results, both TN and CN servers started Choice Scouts six months after the Anniversary event. There’s no ranking in EN, so I can only count from when the event ended and the cards were announced at the end of October. If it were just exclusive cards, I would assume it would take six months like it had the TN and CN servers, which would mean sometime in April. But if they are doing something special with Fujiwara-sensei designing the cards, it would take some time, but not nearly as long as it did for them to come up with a whole new event scenario, so unless the EN version is getting an exclusive event, it should not take nine months which was as long as it took JPN server to get I Come with the Night. So before July.
So, based on all that and assuming scheduling is about the same as it is for all the other servers, we might be seeing these cards sometime between April and July.
What will these cards look like?
The JPN winners were cast members for the I Come with the Night play event, with the play being school themed. The TN cards were boba themed to reflect how boba has nearly become the national icon of Taiwan. The CN cards were Chinese themed with Shanghai and pandas included in the designs, fitting for Chinese New Year.
Basically my answer is I have no idea what EN exclusive cards would look like. The EN server isn’t exclusive to one specific region like the others are. Many different countries are encompassed in the EN server, so it’s difficult to say. But they will definitely be gorgeous with Fujiwara-sensei designing them.
SO WHAT IS THE TLDR???
LONG story short, I’m guessing the EN cards will be added sometime between April and July, via the character Choice Scout SELECTION gachas. They will not be determined by cheers but instead will be cards of the highest voted characters from the survey released around the 1st Anniversary. The number of cards, the rarities, the design motifs, and the characters are still unknown as of now.
I don’t know a lot so this was a pretty long winded way to say “I don’t know” and give the most basic of guesses but seeing the history and predicting based on the data was super fun. I feel that having an approximate date guessed is better than nothing but unfortunately that is about all I can surmise.

Smutember Day 3: No Regrets
Adrien was loose and relaxed in a way he hadn’t been in ages as he strolled into class. He smiled happily at Nino as he swung himself into his chair, which prompted a curious look from his friend.
“You seem oddly cheerful today. What’s up? Your dad take a vacation?” Nino asked.
“Sadly no. I’m just happy, that’s all. I had a good night,” Adrien said. He wasn’t about to tell Nino any details about the night before. Even eliminating the fact that he’d been with Ladybug and substituting an unknown girl, that would prompt questions that Adrien couldn’t really answer.
It was yet another secret he had to keep, but this was one was well worth it.
“Apparently it’s an epidemic,” Alya said from behind them. Adrien twisted around to look at her and, surprisingly as it was ten minutes before class started, Marinette.
“What do you mean?” Adrien asked, puzzled.
“Marinette had an amazing night too,” Alya said. “But she won’t tell me why.”
Marinette flushed. “I told you. I didn’t do anything special. I just got to relax for once,” she said.
Adrien looked at her closely. Now that he was paying attention, the perpetual dark rings under Marinette’s eyes seemed to have lightened. Her eyes were bright instead of drooping with exhaustion, and for once her smile didn’t seem forced. She did look much better than usual.
“Just relaxing when you could’ve been hanging out with me,” Alya said with a mock, put-upon sigh.
“Believe me, Alya, I have no regrets as to how I spent my night,” Marinette said with a smirk.
“Everyone needs the chance to relax sometimes,” Adrien chimed in. “I got to relax some last night too. It was really nice.”
Alya looked back and forth between them and then shook her head. “Okay, whatever. But we’re still on for tonight, right?” she asked Marinette.
“Yup. Don’t worry. I haven’t forgotten I promised to help you baby-sit,” Marinette said.
“Uh, apparently you did forget we had a date tonight,” Nino said to Alya.
“What? That was tonight?!” Alya groaned and slapped a hand over her face. “Babe, I’m so sorry. Mom asked me to baby-sit and I said yes without thinking.”
“It’s okay. You can make it up to me.” Nino wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.
“Oh honey, I can definitely do that,” Alya said in a low, throaty voice, leering.
“Eww,” Marinette moaned.
“That’s gross,” Adrien agreed, shoving Nino lightly.
“We didn’t do anything,” Nino said, but he was laughing.
“Ah, my sunshine children. Too innocent and pure for this world,” Alya said dramatically. “Adrien, I should take you under my wing. Teach you the secrets of a dom.”
Adrien snorted. “Thanks, but I think I’m okay,” he said dryly. Alya was a dom and Nino was a switch. Their relationship worked for them, but he wasn’t sure how well that would translate into Chat Noir and Ladybug. Besides, he sort of wanted to feel things out on his own.
“Adrien is just fine the way he is,” Marinette said firmly.
All three of them looked at her in surprise. Marinette’s cheeks reddened again at their scrutiny, but she tipped her nose up stubbornly and refused to back down. Adrien, for his part, was shocked. That was probably one of the few full sentences Marinette had ever gotten out around him without stammering, and it was in support of him.
Then, for some reason, Alya giggled. “You’re right. Sunshine boy is fine.” She whistled at Adrien.
Madame Bustier walked in before Adrien could think up a good response to that; he was used to people complimenting his looks, even catcalling him, but it was a little odd when the attention came from someone he knew. He gladly twisted back around in his seat, vaguely aware of Marinette hissing Alya’s name behind him.
Keeping one eye on the front of the room so as not to get caught, he fished his phone out of his pocket and opened up the messaging app that he and Ladybug used exclusively for talking to each other outside the mask. He hadn’t messaged her yet today, but he wanted to make sure she was doing okay.
CN: hey bug how you feeling?
Then he waited, knowing it wouldn’t be long before she answered. Especially after last night. He smiled again, more helplessly this time. Ladybug hadn’t gone deep into her subspace, but she’d definitely been feeling it a little after the massage. He’d stayed with her for a couple hours after and they’d cuddled on the bed, talking and drinking the juice Adrien had brought.
His phone vibrated and he quickly glanced down.
LB: I’m feeling a lot better actually
LB: you’re pretty at what you do, Kitty
She thought he was good at being a dom! Adrien’s smile broadened into a grin and he puffed his chest out a little.

There was a long pause after that. Adrien chewed his bottom lip, wondering if he was coming across too strong. But everything he’d said to her was the truth - and frankly there was so much more he could’ve said.
Like how beautiful she was when she had that soft, glazed look in her eyes, or how good she’d been for him. After that initial bout of hesitation, she’d followed every command without pause. She’d put herself fully into his hands and let go, knowing that he would take care of everything.
That meant more than Adrien could properly express. No one ever trusted him with anything. Nathalie didn’t even trust him to be able to choose his own breakfast, and he couldn’t even remember the last time Gabriel had trusted him to do even the smallest thing without heavy supervision.
But Ladybug...
Finally, his phone vibrated again.
LB: I’m really glad that we decided to do this. You’re exactly what I need. ❤️
He let out a slow, shaky breath as Nino elbowed him. Just in time, Adrien locked his phone and slid it away as Madame Bustier came over to hand out a worksheet. He took one and passed the rest back to Marinette.
Their hands touched as she took the papers. She actually smiled at him, and the glow in her bright blue eyes took Adrien’s breath away. He recovered quickly and smiled back before turning away to face the front.
He cupped his hand over his phone. At break, he’d be able to respond to Ladybug properly. For now, the quiet confidence her words had induced were more than enough to carry him through the remainder of the morning.
