The fact that Xaden is drawn as much (or perhaps more) to Violet's intelligence as he is to her physique is refreshing. So often an MMC comments on the FMC's looks or emotive qualities, sometimes even their physical strength / prowess. Rarely is the comment made about the FMC's intelligence. I'm here for it.

i think the diamond dogs should play improv games just bc it would amuse me, an ex theater kid, specifically
#ted and beard ofc are reading each others minds#trent is shockingly good at it but only when he forgets to be self conscious#also see: he does both best and worst with ted (best when he's not being self conscious#worst when somehow the prompt gets too touchy or 'romantic' bc Crush Crush Crush Brain Panic)#(please the image of ted in character hugging him or something and trent just. red. brain crashed. no longer improving just frozen. barely#manages to recover and even then it was not subtle. unclear if ted is a) genuinely oblivious b) teasing him and thinks trent knows that#c) something else(??) )#roy is too stiff most of the time but if he gets really into it he gets REALLY into it.#best way to get this result is to involve phoebe or another child#higgins did community theater at some point and is the one teaching them all the games. beard also seems to have done intense research#but higgins is the one with EXPERIENCE#not that i think beard and ted couldn't have done an improv duo in college or something but in this scenario they did not#nate surprisingly is pretty good at it once he gets into it like it takes him a second but#then he's like. really getting into it and he's very quick on his feet#new way to go mad with power (affectionate): the rush you get when you make the perfect snap back comedic line/acting choice#also while trent is so good paired with so many of them i think he and nate would be a hilarious duo. they're SO funny.#they complement each other well and are both quick & clever#esp if it's about a mutual interest (although one of them taking the lead on something else like nate and music while the other plays off t#em is also good) but like#please i just had the iamge of them basically doing a bit where they're like. those mean old gay muppets in the theater?#like trent and nate improv duoing as some bitchy reviewers just going back and forth and it's so FAST and SO funny#beard records it and posts it somewhere and it goes viral.#god don't even get me started on the idea of some sort of official richmond social media/the gang posting random clips on social media#bc the ideas i have are so funny.#also largely trent centric but what do you want from me okay i'm just a little slut.

#gael garcía bernal#desierto#ggb filmography gifs#desierto 2015#gael garcia bernal#this is ultimately a pretty standard thriller of the being-chased-by-an-inexorable-killer type#where the cast is picked off one by one until only the most conventionally physically attractive remain#this is good news for gael's character#on account of being played by gael#i think this one is elevated by the setting both in terms of beauty (it is stunning) and by making effective plot use of it#that apparently meant they were shooting two hours' drive away from the nearest towns with no cellphone reception etc.#which may be why we don't see more films set here#also elevated by the performances which are uniformly good#also elevated by the themes (jeffrey dean morgan's antagonist is targeting migrants crossing the border)#so we're back in the territory explored in documentaries like who is dayani cristal but this time as fictional thriller#this film came out as the trump wall discourse was hotting up and that was naturally something that got talked about in interviews#clever inclusion of antagonist's dog which effectively constrains what the characters could do to get out of the situation#so unlike in many films of this type there isn't a screamingly obvious course of action that they should have taken but unaccountably don't#still it remains a genre film sticking broadly to the conventions of that genre so the plot isn't going to astonish you#i've still avoided giffing the most spoilery moments though#tbh i suspect gael's character is still screwed at the end but then i think that's also the point (see: themes)

Moore is#fine‚ nothing more (potentially controversial take? i don't rate her as an actor) and the rest of the cast is nothing to write home about#the fx are sometimes goofy and sometimes gore splattered ingenuity; the final act contains some real gruesome body horror#oh and as the poster subtly suggests‚ this was shot for 3d so expect much pointing into the camera and stuff jumping up

wow i always forget how little time there is between the first great glacier trip and the munna arc. its like 3 filler dungeons a pop
#i dont think this is a huge deal gameplay wise though. at least compared to the other games#bc if you wanna slow down the pace and grind up paradise points then you do that in companion mode at no real cost#besides not being able to use your hero/partner#i personally dont mind that though cause i love emolga and hes usually the one left behind#and besides him there are plenty of gen 5 mons in this game that i love playing as#buuut story wise it can be a little distracting to get back from one huge trip then take another pretty much immediately after#like rescue team and explorers both had more time between their journey arcs#(though i wouldnt say rescue teams is the best pacing wise)#that all being said- im only just now realizing the pacing when you find out about the balls of light-#that very same night is when munna finally connects with you and you become her new target#which is clever and a good subtle bit of foreshadowing that somethings wrong#echoed voice#pmd posting

#good morning my friend 🌻🌻🌻#jackdaw update! i've finally found a way to observe them relatively unnoticed 🤐#and look at their shenanigans... 🤪🤦♀️😳#you see that feeder that's hanging open + the jackdaw flapping on it... a suet block was put in there not ten minutes before i filmed there#they really like the suet blocks and will beeline for them whenever they see a new one#and since they are fairly big and strong they can just??? tear the feeders right open and peck out the block as you can see 😩#(there is also a rook that comes now and then and he pries open that block feeder like it's nothing. he's so big and strong)#i know i said before about the songbirds going through so much seed but they really do take the cake... we only get like 20 blocks per order#and they go through one a day pretty much 😂#i think those corvids need to go on a diet!!! i do admire their cleverness and their acrobatics however#that is how things are in the garden 😌💖#i hope you are keeping well my friend... sending you lots of hugs and love!!! 💖💖💖💖💖#jackdaw#corvid#birds#cute

i was about to make a post about an updated ‘the complete phantom of the opera’ with equal attention going to all the adaptations instead of shoving nearly all of them into 10 pages like that book, but then i remembered that this one exists! :D
and it’s perfect! ;D
#it looks like it dedicates plenty of pages to most of them! :D#the title chapters are so clever! ;D#a few of them are obvious as to what adaptation they're telling of but some are a bit tricky#'an opera ghost's love story' is probably the musical and maybe 'the torture chamber' is susan kay's phantom?#it's pretty neat to see something more complete than 'the complete phantom of the opera'! :D#the book was updated in 2006 so there are a few new adaptations to add (like 'ghost'! ;D )#i was thinking of writing a complete poto book but that's mostly to have the rewrite at the end ;D#and this one is better than anything i could put together!#i think i'll write a complete palais garnier book instead! ;)#edit: turns out susan kay's phantom is in the novels appendix so the torture chamber one is a mystery! :o

i think more people should play the Blue Skies mod in minecraft bc it is like. The best fucking thing
#the music slaps the biomes are gorgeous the mobs are fun and interesting#the fucking MUSIC#it's all on spotify and it's so good it's by Lachney#there's TWO new dimensions to explore#four total new bosses with apparently more to come#interesting new items and gear and the fucking SOUND DESIGN like oh my fucking god the mob sounds the block sounds they're so good#like the rimestone block it sounds so crunchy and icy and crystally#and just like the plants and new wood types and decorations are so fucking pretty#i love this fucking mod#it works so well and it's really clever in how it gets you to use all the materials it provides you#like how it encourages you to get the new armour and tools from these dimensions by making Overworld items less effective#so it doesn't take away what you have but also encourages you to start almost from scratch in this new place#without making it stupidly difficult#it's easy to get into at any point in the game no matter how geared up you are#the bosses are super fucking fun and well designed AND DID I MENTION THE MUSIC CAUSE THE BOSS MUSIC SLAPS#also the guidebook for how to navigate the mod isn't in a book item it's just in your inventory tab which is super fucking helpful#bc then i don't have to carry an actual item in my inventory everywhere to know what's going on#i fucking love this mod man
