I Feel like making / building a new prototype synth again - This was built in 2017 and the sounds from this was used in making the album - Sanathana & Sanhata : i - This was quite a task and my first ever build! サーキットベンディングした楽器の制作と撮影

　サーキットベンディングのWeb論文執筆に協力しており、僕は実際にサーキットベンディングの作例を作ります。作例を使って制作と演奏の記録映像を作成し、Web論文に掲載する流れです。明日までの提出締切なのですが、楽器が完成しておらず、今日は急ピッチで制作と撮影作業を進めました。 　今回の論文ではリード・ガザラが提唱した「Living Instrumets（生きている楽器）」を意識して、同じ挙動を繰り返さないデジタルデバイスとしての電子楽器を目指します。ガザラは世の中の多くのサーキットベンディングで作られた楽器はLiving Instrumentsになっていないと言っており、ライブパフォーマンスでの安定した動作を目指した楽器は出音はノイジーでも、生き物が年をとって死んだり腐ったりするような方向性が見られないと指摘しているようです。また回路基板を指で直接触れる体験を通して、電子回路を自分の体の一部にすることもLiving Instrumentsになる方法の1つのようです。

　僕はLiving Instrumentsとは程度の話だと思います。これがLiving Instrumentsで、これはLiving Instrumentsじゃないという明確な定義や境界がないものではないでしょうか。サーキットベンディングが動的なものであるためにはLiving Instrumentsを意識して、安定的な動作や反復を避ける冒険心が必要なのでしょう。 　そんなわけで、今回制作した楽器のコンセプトは外観は普通の電子ピアノだけど、スーツケースのように筐体を開くと基板がむき出しになっており、回路を指で触れたり、ワイヤーで接続することでノイズが発生します。美味しいポイントにはあらかじめワイヤーをはんだづけしているので、それらのワイヤーを軸に回路に触れると面白い演奏ができるでしょう。サーキットベンディングは改造している時が一番面白いという考えから、サーキットベンディングの途中をそのまま保存したような楽器のコンセプトになっています。

　中田粥さんがピアノの内部奏法の発展としてサーキットベンディングを考えられていた話を筐体の造形面からアプローチして、回路に直接触れるという点でもLiving Instrumentsを意識できた楽器になりました。
