This is the ultimate reason we know religion
never caused any wars:
Exodus 20:13 | You shall not murder.
Death is the result of sin.
Romans 5:12 | Therefore, just as sin entered
the world through one man, & death through
sin, so also death was passed on to all men,
because all sinned.
Deuteronomy 30:19 | I call heaven & earth
as witnesses against you today that I have
set before you life & death, blessing & cursing.
So choose life, so that you & your
descendants may live,
There is hope for mankind to escape this treacherous evil
lurking within us all, & that is found in JESUS CHRIST.
Isaiah 53:12 | Therefore I will allot HIM a portion
with the great, & HE will divide the spoils with the
strong, because HE has poured out HIS life unto
death, & HE was numbered with the transgressors.
Yet HE bore the sin of many & made intercession
for the transgressors.
True Christians never revolt or start revolutions,
we submit to authority & petition GOD for strength
& patience to carry out HIS Will.
Romans 13:1 | Everyone must submit
themselves to the governing authorities,
for there is no authority except that
which is from GOD. The authorities that
exist have been appointed by GOD.
Romans 13:5 | Therefore, it is necessary
to submit to authority, not only to avoid
punishment, but also as a
matter of conscience.
Practically, you might want to look at the historic facts too.
@cincuentaydos, there’s a pie chart below to summarize.
The Myth that Religion is the #1 Cause of War
Atheists & secular humanists consistently make the claim
that religion is the #1 cause of violence & war throughout
the history of mankind.
One of hatetheism's key cheerleaders, Sam Harris, says
in his book [The End of Faith] that faith & religion are
“the most prolific source of violence in our history.”
While there’s no denying that campaigns such as the
Crusades & the 30 Years’ War foundationally rested on
religious ideology, it is simply incorrect to assert that
religion has been the primary cause of war.
Moreover, although there’s also no disagreement that
radical Islam was the spirit behind 9/11, it is a fallacy to say
all faiths contribute equally where religiously-motivated
violence & warfare are concerned.
An interesting source of truth on the matter is Philip &
Axelrod’s three-volume Encyclopedia of Wars, which
chronicles some 1,763 wars that have been waged
over the course of human history.
Of those wars, the authors categorize 123 as being
religious in nature, which is an astonishingly low 6.98%
of all wars.
However, when one subtracts out those waged in the
name of Islam [66], the percentage is cut by more than
half to 3.23%.
That means that all faiths combined – minus Islam –
have caused less than 4% of all of humanity’s wars
& violent conflicts.
Further, they played no motivating role in the major
wars that have resulted in the most loss of life.
This puts a serious dent into Harris’ argument.
The truth is, non-religious motivations & naturalistic
philosophies bear the blame for nearly all of
humankind’s wars.
Lives lost during religious conflict pales in comparison
to those experienced during the regimes who wanted
nothing to do with the idea of GOD – something
showcased in R.J. Rummel’s work
Lethal Politics & Death by Government:
Non-Religious Dictator Lives Lost
Joseph Stalin - 42,672,000
Mao Zedong - 37,828,000
Adolf Hitler - 20,946,000
Chiang Kai-shek - 10,214,000
Vladimir Lenin - 4,017,000
Hideki Tojo - 3,990,000
Pol Pot - 2,397,0003
Rummel says:
“Almost 170 million men, women & children have been
shot, beaten, tortured, knifed, burned, starved, frozen,
crushed or worked to death;
buried alive, drowned, hung, bombed or killed in any
other of a myriad of ways governments have inflicted
death on unarmed, helpless citizens & foreigners.
The dead could conceivably be 360 million people.
It is as though our species has been devastated by a
modern Black Plague. And indeed it has, but a
plague of Power, not germs.”
The historical evidence is quite clear:
Religion is not the #1 cause of war.
If religion can’t be blamed for most wars & violence,
then what is the primary cause?
The same thing that triggers all crime, cruelty,
loss of life, & other such things.
JESUS provides the answer very clearly:
“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the
evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries,
deeds of coveting & wickedness, as well as deceit,
sensuality, envy, slander, pride & foolishness.
All these evil things proceed from within &
defile the man,” [Mark 7:21–23].
James [naturally] agrees with CHRIST when he says:
“What is the source of quarrels & conflicts among you?
Is not the source your pleasures that
wage war in your members?
You lust & do not have;
so you commit murder.
You are envious & cannot obtain;
so you fight & quarrel,” [James 4:1–2].
In the end, the evidence shows the atheists are
quite wrong about the wars they claim to
so desperately despise.
Sin is the #1 cause of war & violence,
not religion, & certainly not Christianity.

About me.
(about time?)
My name is Max... well, not really, but you can call me that. I'm 29, single and mexican, so don't freak out if I post something in spanish from time to time, but I live in the border with USA and I'm very comfortable and familiar with the english language, and I'm well versed in popular culture.
Most of what you'll find here are things I find either funny, or interesting, often both at the same time; but unless I say so first, nothing I post is by me, which should go without saying given we're on tumblr, but just in case.
I'm interested in the usual: music, movies, literature, pop culture (whatever that is) and science. You could say I'm sort of a geek, and a little bit of a nerd too. I try to cover all kinds of subjects in this blog, and sometimes it can get weird. You've been warned.
I'm an atheist (a friendly one at that!) but I try not to be defined by it. I welcome all sorts of people and will answer any kind of questions as long as we can keep it civilized. On wednesdays and sundays I try to post on the subjects of science, human rights, a little bit of politics (mostly regarding separation of church and state), and (why not?) religious humor. I have another blog dedicated to that called "High infidelity"... that's a link. You can follow it too if you want.
Like I said, I'm a friendly person open to make new friends. If you feel like chatting or asking a question, my inbox is always open. You can also follow me on twitter (link at the top of my blog) but I tweet mostly in spanish there.
