Tips to get/maintain emo and scene hair
if u have curly hair u dont have to straighten ur hair. cigsnvalentines (occasionally), taramarizzle, and blue.things.suck (all on tt) r 3 people who don’t. I’ve seen people also achieve the look with braids, locs nd an afro. 4 this i will focus on straight hair but know thats not ur only option.
Take care of ur hair. ik people are liek "you gotta fry ur hair 2 complete the look!!" but fried nd damaged hair feels so gross, its not worth it.(Speaking from experience so dont @ me)
Texturizing powder!! This works n place of/alongside hairspray nd is especially good if ur hair gets greasy
For ppl who r worried abt using aerosol hairspray, they make 1s that r like n a spray bottle. This is the one I use. It’s technically a mousse but like… it works. it kinda smells like alcohol tho
Keep a little comb in ur pocket, the wind is rude and hates cool hair. This is pretty obvious but I love my little comb
If ur hair is curly, follow the process of a silk press when you straighten it.
Not a tip, a warning: u’re gonna fuck up ur fringe at least once, it happens to the best of us
That said, I dont think u can rlly mess up with cutting ur own hair, like ive cut my fringe way too short nd been like 'oh shit what did i do' but like its the sex, like its bad n a hot way
Razor blades, even if they’re new and sharp can still split your ends… I learned that the hard way. They are great for layering tho so like yolo. ig ur hair being wet can make it less likely 2 split but like, :/
I really would not go 2 a hairdresser unless they're like the cool ones that will actually listen 2 u. You could req like a shag then cut ur fringe further
idrk how to describe cutting ur fringe initially... Theres a lot of tuts on youtube for that. I'll probably make a like picture tutorial on it, i personally hate videos maybe some1 else is like that 2
