hey, y'all. so, after over six (!) years with this blog, i've decided it's time to head on out.

i've loved running this blog and sharing so much goodness from all my favourite shows, as well as doing my best to champion my baby show chuck whenever i can. tumblr has always been such a generous community, and it’s been a fun ride. but at this stage, i feel like i've truly accomplished everything i can on this site. things are dwindling, and with that my ideas, and at this point it feels like i'm investing more energy here than i really need to. i made this blog to be a source of fun and joy for me, and i wanna take my leave before it stops being that, so as the great tswift says, it’s time to go.

with that, i'm also gonna stop posting on @nocontextchuck, and helping out at @chuckvsthegifs. no context has been a particular wonderful silly joy for me on this site, i've LOVED maybe making people laugh a little at the utter silliness of our show, but there's only so much stuff a girl can post from a five-season, 91 episode show that ended almost 10 years ago, lol, and i feel it's also run its wonderfully dumbass course.

i still adore chuck, obviously, and i'll still be posting and reading fic as halfachance on FFN-- you can't get the chuck bug outta my brain that easy. i'm leaving everything up and active across the blogs here so hopefully some of my stuff can make y'all smile if it pops up at some point. and, my tags page is still up if you’re looking for something particular, whether christmas gifs or episodes tags. i have one last new gifset going up tomorrow.

why don't you support other chuck creators?

hey, dude. i’m guessing by “supporting creators” you mean reblogging gif makers and not like, cheering on fic writers, so i’ll focus on that. (i think i cheer on many fic writers, go read @victorianoir and @davidcarner‘s stuff especially) in trying to figure out why you sent this ask, i’m guessing it’s because i don’t appear to reblog much chuck content from other blogs?

but, i do! i run (co-run, but there’s just me there) @chuckvsthegifs where i reblog chuck posts from many creators. every time i see a gifset, i reblog it there. i rely on the chuckedit tag which i’m sure means i miss some (lord knows my own stuff doesn’t always show up there), as well as my dashboard, but unless I’m somehow missing a ton of posts I definitely find new content to reblog and thus support there. i try and space it out to one post a day there because I don’t wanna run out of stuff!! but that’s more a remnant of when nobody posted chuck gifs and the tag was all but empty, i was scrounging old blogs for something we hadn’t reblogged yet.

in terms of this blog, i do reblog and support things made by others here too! but not as much, i suppose, which is what i’m guessing you’re critiquing, but i do have reasons for that.

i don’t consider this blog A Chuck Blog. it’s never been an archive for every single chuck post, it’s literally just my blog, for the shows and things and moments from them that i like, I just... like chuck the most and that’s why it’s the thing i gif. i made this blog after having another for two and a half years that was a completely hectic mishmash of anything i saw, yet simultaneously so dedicated to one fandom i felt guilty posting anything else, and it totally stressed me out. i swore my new blog (lol new, six years old) would be my jam. that’s why rn i’m posting a lot of star trek, that’s why this blog began with 90% Office content and then changed. vsthegifs is an archive and fandom dedicated, it’s designed to have everything chuck, that’s why i post everything over there and have done since I joined the blog a few years back. this space is my own jam. sometimes that means a lot of chuck posts from everyone, with me rambling in the tags about chuck and sarah again, sometimes that means just a few a week that are from my own brain. i go with however i’m feeling, without obligation. the other reason is that i am literally always paranoid about posting too much and pissing people off. idk why, i don’t mind when people i follow post a lot of stuff all in a row, but i still feel it. that’s why i only post four or five things a day, only one from each fandom, spaced out, etc, it’s why i don’t reblog text posts and stick to gifs. i basically set up a queue at the start of every day so i reblog stuff evenly. it’s dumb but i can’t seem to undo it for my own peace of mind. i run three blogs in total (this, vsthegifs, and nocontextchuck) and i cannot un-think the idea that if i reblog something to two blogs in a row or in quick succession, i’m pissing people off by the cross-posting 🙃 posting a lot of chuck in a day is something i rarely if ever do, whether it’s my own stuff or anyone else’s.

i’m sorry if you see not reblogging everything to this blog as well as another as not “supporting”; imo everyone who makes chuck gifs is a fucking rockstar. this show ended almost 9 years ago and began when I was ten years old, so trust me, i’m supporting and cheering on everyone.
