Last month was 12 years since my #duodenalswitch with #biliopancreaticdiversion. I went from 300, pounds to 137 in less than two years. Then I was diagnosed with multiple autoimmune diseases and the steroids over the years to try to manage my symptoms caused me to gain- I was back up to 230 pounds last year. I've lost over 60 pounds in the past year and need surgery on my stomach. Again. So I can actually swallow food and not puke daily. I was 24 in the first photo. I'm 40 now..... I dunno how to feel about this. Sure losing weight is great and better for my rheumatoid arthritis but I'm miserable and sick often. I remember I went to see my local gp about the anti inflammatory medication I was given to help relieve pain from my HMS and my doctor didn't have a clue what HMS was let alone EDS so when I explained it to him and what it could lead to in the future he told me " to not look at the bad side of it and all the bad outcomes, that makes things worse and try find some good things"...
