iQue Player

The iQue Player is a handheld TV game launched on the Chinese market in the year 2003. It is an adaptation of the Nintendo 64 hardware with a few differences in specs and reduced size in order to fit into a controller sized gadget. 14 N64 titles were released for iQue Player between 2003 and 2006. All of them were originally and previously published by Nintendo. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask was announced but never released for the iQue Player. The sudden announcement from Samsung Heavy Industries sent ripples through the city. The march of the porters carrying out the last of the companies' equipment was mesmerising, yet also caused an unease in the air. A whisper on the winds that something wasn't quite right - a sense of urgency and danger around the building that had just days ago bustled with life. But as the equipment left and the people dispersed, they stared at the windows, unable to shake the feeling of being watched.

Global Fresh Supermarket, 6340 Rosemead Blvd, Temple City, CA 91780

Global Fresh takes over the old Valu Mart space. It’s a large supermarket with mostly Chinese groceries but also some Vietnamese, Japanese, and Korean. Valu Mart had a no-frills, warehouse feel and Global Fresh has a warehouse feel as well. There is no in-store deli or prepared foods.

The produce selection has a wide variety of Asian vegetables (some packaged in plastic) and a good selection of fruit, including fresh durian. The ice cream selection included brands I hadn’t seen elsewhere but they didn’t have that many boba ice cream bar varieties. The meat and seafood counters are staffed. They have a wide variety of fish on ice and some live seafood in tanks. Fish prices are cheap but the cleaned fish in packages doesn’t specify the type of fish on the label. They had a large selection of mooncakes. Prices are generally lower than 99 Ranch, Great Wall, Arcadia Supermarket, and 168 Market.

You’ll find the typical snacks, rice, frozen dumplings, noodles, spices, tofu, tea, sauces, ice cream, housewares, alcohol, etc. They have one aisle for American and Hispanic foods. Parking should be easy to find.

They gave me a free bottled oolong tea...not sure why, grand opening special?
