so sorry this took so long !! i am so indecisive so i decided to draw multiple things, so really this is a gift bundle,,

i drew more things though :3 under the cut are some extras !!! just didnt want this to be formatted more weirdly then it already is :3c

also !!! credits to the amazing @livmadart for the phantom and kaito kid magical girl aus !!! i personally am a fan of them as well so this was so much fun to draw :33

I am 100% convinced that the Pandora, the jewel that Kaitou KID looks for and grants wishes, is actually Kaito himself.

Like, Toichi found Pandora, gifted it to Chikage under the moonlight, saying some romantic shit, and one of them confesses that they want a baby. And that rock goes, Okay! and just... poofs into a baby.

It could even explain why Kaito looks so much like Shinichi! If that's the only baby either of them know and Pandora shaped itself on their subconscious desires, then it easily could have made itself look like Shinichi, but with more of their own features than the Kudos.

Why do I hate Toichi?

WELL...

Kaito, like any normal person, if an idiot dresses up as his late father who died more than 8 years ago: *Tries to hit him*

I hope they make Toichi the villain of MK, although I highly doubt it. You imagine? The real villain is your dad.

In the Conan Cain Instincts AU, how does Chikage feel about the Kudos going along with Conan and Arsene being twins? I feel like she'd be amused by the whole thing. Would she step into some role in this odd fake family, such as a crazy aunt, or would she just watch from a distance?

I don’t think I have a good enough grasp of her character yet, but I think she would definitely be amused by all this

Toichi smooth af... Like this might be one of the craziest "How I Met Your Mother" story I have seen and I'm all here for it...

I haven't rewatched/reread Magic Kaito in a GOOD while but to think Kaito was born one year after Toichi and Chikage literally MET each other..... Oh they were REALLY down DOWN bad

Had a dream and in the dream Magic Kaito got a dub but it was one of the dubs where all characters get renamed like the Detective Conan dub. But the thing was, it was still called Magic Kaito. So Kaito Kuroba was renamed Kyle Klover and Kaitous are called Phantom Thieves in English but the show was still called Magic Kaito for no reason. Also for some reason I didn’t have any gripes with the dub names like I usually do for these types of dubs. Probably because my mind came up with these names but the changes were

Akako Koizumi to Ashley Kindle

Saguru Hakuba to Samuel Hawkings

Also they adapted the robot chapter but the dub removed all mentions of death across the entire series and the scene where Kaito puts the gun against his own head to make the robot shoot itself so it's just cuts from Kaito switching his gun over to his other hand to him walking away from the robot. Also they changed Toichi's death to Toichi and Chikage getting a divorce with Chikage having full custody and I remember wondering what the hell they were going to do for the things that required Toichi to be dead. Also Toichi was never named and was only referred to as Kyle's dad or Chloe's husband

Summary:

Kaito finds Pandora but is shot out of the sky by the Organization. Upon awakening, Kaito discovers that Pandora is sentient and has saved him from death by making him Pandora's new vessel. Pandora then makes a simple deal with him. Pandora won't take over Kaito's consciousness or control him as long as Kaito seals away magical objects that have awakened once again due to the coming of the Volley Comet. Now immortal and unable to be permanently injured, Kaito repurposes KID into stealing magical items of all kinds using the power of Pandora. Except now he has three detectives and their friends chasing after him, determined to learn what happened the night KID was shot out of the sky and why he's shifted targets. Not to mention there may be more kinds of evil groups and creatures out there than just the Organization...and it's going to take all of Kaito's strength to adapt to his new world. Or, to put it in shorter terms: Kaito's world shatters and he and Pandora become roommates.

After recent events, I ended up going back to the beginning to check things, because my first reaction will always be "wtf, this is shit, why would you do this" and my second reaction will always be "okay maybe that was a bit much, maybe he's not THAT bad, maybe has a good reason-

I have been angry since April 12th and I've reached a point where I don't even know what to feel anymore I don't even know what to tell y'all.

Like, wow, omg, movie reveals. Other than family relations, the other thing isn't exactly anything new. We've all read Midnight Crow. We saw Kaitou Corbaeu. We've been in denial until finally reaching acceptance. For me at least. And then we spend a few years bargaining, bc surely there's a good reason kaitos not in the know. That kaito has to be KID. Surely there's a reason? Right?

At this point we don't even truly know if Jii is in the know and was acting as planned out by the parents or not. Or if he's just like kaito. Tricked, lied to, played for fools. At the very least ginzo doesn't know, so there's that. Not sure how much that would help kaito when he inevitably finds out. Because he will. The fact remains that it's quite suspicious that Jii just so happen to choose to don the KID outfit and become KID to draw out toichis murderers exactly 8 years after toichis death. EXACTLY the same amount of time that was set for that trap door portrait to open to kaito.

There's a lot of implications to think about

It just occurred to me, was Toichi a Zoroark in your phantump au, or was he a human trainer that Kaito is avenging?

(Also is his mom a pokemon? Is she even a thing in this au? WHERE IS JII? I need family deets)

Toichi is his trainer technically but they both found this little baby zorua who is crazy smart—i imagine he tried to steal some food from them during a picnic and they were like “oh he’s perfect”

Honestly forgot about Jii whoops—he definitely knows about the pokemon thing but it doesn’t change much with how they interact. While we’re at it, I’ll add in that Aoko knows, too—the only thing she doesn’t know is that he’s Kaito KID
