♕ CHARLOTTE
You would have to be the one to initiate the kiss. As much as Charlotte would want to kiss you, she would overthink your possible reaction, so much so that she just wouldn’t in the end. Assuming that you were not interested in her like that, convincing herself that any flirting you had done were merely friendly banter.
It’s at the end of a long day when you decide to kiss her. You’ve both had a pint or two of alcohol. Charlotte’s flushed cheeks are so cute and you’ve been crushing on her for awhile. She looked too irresistible to pass up.
With a little help of liquid courage, you shoot your shot, prepared for the consequences of your actions if she doesn’t reciprocate.
Slipping their hand behind her head, Y/N pulled the Blue Rose Captain in towards them and pressed their lips to hers. The whole time, their grip on her is loose enough for her to reject them at any time. However, the rejection never comes. A small smile makes it way to Y/N’s lips when they begin to feel her lips move against theirs, her body relaxing into their grasp after the initial shock wears off.
Eventually, the time came to when they begrudgingly needed air. Y/N pecked Charlotte’s lips one last time before pulling away, their hand retreating from Charlotte’s form. The skin on her neck now cold from the lack of warmth Y/N radiated. Bashfully, the Blue Rose’s Captain turned away, hiding her crimson face. Y/N giggled at the gesture, Charlotte’s bashfulness was incredibly adorable like always.
“Does this mean you feel the same, Captain?” Y/N asked, their smile growing.
When the Captain didn’t respond, only small little noises of embarrassment coming from her, Y/N silently pulled one of her hands away from her face and slipped their hand into hers.
♕ JULIUS
Getting the courage to kiss the Wizard King on the cheek, you would kiss him first. Julius, however, wouldn’t let you get away with just a cheek kiss. Being naturally a bit mischievous, he takes this opportunity to confirm his suspicions about you.
He slipped his arms around you when you lean in, on your tiptoes, and placed his hands on your lower back. He noticed the way your cheeks slightly darken underneath his touch, but you seemingly ignore it, committing to your kiss.
Your lips briefly contact his cheek before you attempt to run away. His hand on your back keeps you from any true attempt at running though, wrapping his arm around your figure. His grip, however, still loose enough to where you could truly reject him if you wished.
Julius’ other hand slipped behind their neck and guided them to his lips. Y/N gasped against his lips, eyes widening as they fell into his chest. He chuckled against their lips, feeling them melt into his touch.
“That’s more like it,” Julius murmured teasingly, lips brushing against Y/N’s. “No need to be shy.”
“Shut up,” they whined, cheeks darkening even more.
The Wizard King chuckled, pecking their cute pouty lips. As he pulled away, Y/N chased after him, and he gladly allowed them to rejoin their lips. His hands settle on their lower torso and began to explore the unfamiliar area, memorizing their body with his fingers. Only parting again once more when the two heard Marx’s voice from the corridor.
“We’ll continue this later,” he whispered, pecking their lips once more before pulling away.
♕ RILL
Honestly, this could go either way. It’s just a matter of whoever gets the courage to kiss whom first.
One of the times when Rill is just being adorably enthusiastic, the urge to kiss him overwhelmed you and you acted on it. Taking his bigger hand into yours, you caught his attention, and pulled him in closer towards you.
Rill’s eyes widen as you pull him in, other hand going to his cheek as you close the distance between the two of you.
Rill’s cheeks heat up underneath Y/N’s fingertips, his free hand naturally went to their waist. While the kiss is short, no more than a few seconds, it feels like forever as the reality of the situation hit Y/N. Quickly, they pulled away and an unintelligible string of apologies left their lips. Their panicked apology, however, stop when the Captain’s laugh graced their ears.
“Huh?”
Their face was painted in confusion, laughter not being the expected reaction to their kiss.
“I thought I would never get to do this with you,” he admitted, a soft smile appearing on his lips. “I’m so happy.”
“Oh.” Y/N chuckled, their body relaxing at his confession.
The Aqua Deer Captain’s cheeks darkened, growing shyer as seconds passed as he lingered in his thoughts. His fingers nervously played with the hem of their shirt, hand still remaining on their waist.
“What is it?” Y/N asked, brows furrowed.
The young Captain avoided their gaze as he spoke, eyes lingering on the ground behind them.
“C-Can I k-kiss you… again?” He asked bashfully.
♕ YAMI
The Black Bull’s Captain is the one to kiss you. The two of you go out for some drinks after a long and hard mission, celebrating with your squads on the joint success.
Several hours and pints of alcohol deep, all cares are gone, with the alcohol loosening you two up. Years worth of buried feelings slowly coming to the surface as the intoxicating liquid took over. Your darkened cheeks, disheveled hair, and slightly parted plump lips all too tempting for the Black Bull Captain.
Yami’s arm that laid across the back of the booth seat in the corner of the pub fell down onto your shoulders, and brought you in close to his broad chest. With his free hand, he grabbed your chin and tilted your face upwards. His grip on you loose enough to allow you to move away if you truly wanted to.
Y/N hummed against his sake-tasting lips, melting into his touch immediately. Maybe it was the alcohol talking or something else, but his lips on theirs felt natural. His lips were warm and soft, the opposite of his normal demeanor. The captain smirked against their lips as they deepened the kiss, hands grabbing at his shirt, desperately wanting to be closer to him.
“Captain!” Asta hollered from across the room, desperately looking for the Captain.
Yami groaned, begrudgingly breaking the kiss. His head fell onto their shoulder, nuzzling his face into their neck. Yami’s large hand fell to their thighs and tiredly began to rub circles onto their skin.
“Want to take this somewhere more private?” He mumbled after a moment.
“Shouldn’t you go see what he wants?” Y/N asked, brows furrowed.
“He can wait.”
Getting up, Yami pecked their lips before standing with an outstretched hand. Y/N accepted his gesture, slipping their hand into his. The Captain intertwined his fingers with theirs as they left, weaving in and out of the crowd with his thumb mindlessly rubbing over theirs.

Hii! I love your fics!! May I please request a oneshot where yami's squad member (y/n) turns into a baby / child (whichever is better), and brings her to the captains ' meeting as he has no other choice? (y/n) calls everyone dad / mom and it makes them all super soft for her? like yami is first annoyed then softens up, nozel is straight up rude as usual but everyone glares at him for that (cause they're so protective of her already uwu) and he ends up being soft for her too. idk, this was a 2 am thought im sorry!! thank you for taking requests 😭💞
Hiya anon! No worries 2am thoughts are always fine and fun, tbh I tend to get them a lot myself 😆! Aw thank you so much I’m so glad you like my fics, and you’re welcome, I enjoy taking requests! It gives me something fun and different to do 🥰! Of course you may and I hope you all enjoy~!

Yami didn’t know how this happened, she was fine when she left on a mission with Asta and Noelle, but when they all came back she was a baby! When he asked them what the hell happened Asta and Noelle explained that it was the bad guys magic; he could make people really old, or really young!
Yami had ordered them to take her back to the mage and force him to change her back but Noelle explained that they tried, but the mage said his spell would only wear off in 24 hours. So for now…they were stuck with her being a toddler!
She was still able to walk at least, talking on the other hand…well she was only able to say a handful of words, mainly ‘mommy’ and ‘daddy’. Which kind of bothered Yami since he didn’t want to be called ‘daddy’ by a member of his squad, but she wasn't really eager to learn ‘Yami’ at the moment he would have to deal with it for now.
Yami fully intended to leave her at the squad as he went to a Captain’s meeting, but when Yami began to ask who wanted to be in charge of their toddler squadmate every single Black Bull scattered like leaves in a gust of wind.
Which was how he ended up in his current situation; in the Captain’s meeting room, with his toddler squadmate sitting in his lap, as the other Captain’s ‘oohed’ and ‘awwed’ over her.
“ Aw look how adorable she is! I didn’t know you had a baby Yami!” Dorothy said as she began to use her Glamour World magic to create small toys to keep her entertained. Charlotte crossed her arms as she looked at the child.
‘Yami had a child?! Why didn’t he say anything? Does that mean he’s married or has a committed partner? Or is the child a product of a one night stand? Yami doesn’t seem to be the type to do that though, so he must have someone! Why didn’t he say anything, I’m so jealous of her, why didn’t I confess to him sooner?!’ Charlotte’s mind raced as she stared at the little girl, she didn’t look like Yami, but that could easily be explained away. The girl looked at Charlotte with wide eyes before she smiled brightly and reached her arms out towards the Briar mage.
“ Mommy?” She asked cutely before her smile widened. “ Mommy!”
Charlotte and Dorothy’s hearts quickly melted and they both couldn’t help but say ‘How Cute~!’. Yami sighed and shook his head.
“ The Prickly Princess ain’t your mom, and I’m not her dad. She’s a member of my squad who got turned into a toddler on a mission earlier. The other brats took off running when I asked them to baby sit her.” Yami explained as he held the small girl still. She looked up at him with a pout but did stop moving.
“ I see, so how long will she be like this?” Fuegoleon asked as he placed a thoughtful hand under his chin, the girl looked at him for a moment before her bright smile returned.
“ Daddy!” She shouted brightly and with a giggle, Fuegoleon’s brows raised in surprise and a small smile appeared on his face.
“ I’m sorry to say that I’m not your father little one.” Fuegoloen told her gently as he patted her on the head, the little girl pouted.
“ She seems to only be able to say ‘mommy’ and ‘daddy’, which makes sense since she’s only like 1 or 2.” Yami said in an unsure tone, Rill tilted his head.
“ I think she’s closer to a year and a half! Babies are generally able to walk by the time they’re one, and can talk in short sentences by the age of two, so logically she should be somewhere in between since she can walk but not really talk!” Rill said thoughtfully as he stared at the young girl.
“ How the hell do you know that kid?” Jack asked with a frown and Rill suddenly laughed sheepishly.
“ Me and my squad sometimes volunteer at the orphanages in the city and the sisters explained it to me when I tried to have a group of kids tell me about their paintings.” Rill explained and the others nodded.
The little girls eyes moved to Nozel, who was sitting in his seat with his eyes closed and arms crossed, ignoring her effectively.
“ Daddy…?” She asked hesitantly and Nozel’s eyes shot open and he glared coldly at her.
“ I’m not your father, and I wish you would refrain from calling me that.” He told the girl, his tone as cold as ice, the little girl jumped for a moment before her eyes welled up with tears.
The girl began to cry and wail at the top of her lungs, everyone glared openly at Nozel.
“ What the hell did you do that for braid boy?!” Yami asked as he and the others tried to console the toddler and Nozel’s eyes widened a bit.
“ Geez Nozel she’s just a baby, can’t you be just a little nicer with her?” Dorothy asked as she put her hands on her hips and had a angry look on her face. Nozel’s cheeks turned a shade of pink and he looked away.
“ Don’t listen to him brat,” Yami said to the toddler as he gently patted her head. “ You can call of us ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ as much as you like. And ignore him.” Yami instructed them as his hand moved away from her head and began to wipe away her tears.
“ Yeah! Nozel’s just jealous because he doesn’t have a cool baby of his own!” Rill said as he crossed his arms, and Jack looked over at the Silver Eagles Captain.
“ Even I’m not that big of a jerk to kids bird boy.” He muttered with a shake of his head, Nozel sighed loudly before turning to look at them all.
“ I’m not jealous and I’m not angry at the child!” Nozel shouted accidentally, causing everyones eyes to widen. “ It’s just…” He glanced over at Dorothy, and she suddenly realized why he was acting the way he was.
Seeing that little girl was bringing up a lot of painful memories for him, so all he knew to do was lash out in order to hide his true emotions.
“ It’s just that a Captain’s meeting is no place for a child as young as her. Here, we talk about and see so many terrible things that it could easily traumatize someone as young as her for life. Don’t you think it would be better for her to remain innocent to the horrors of the world just a little longer?” Nozel asked with a sigh.
“ Uh, she’s already seen the horrors of the world remember? She’s actually a Magic Knight?” Yami pointed out in confusion, causing Nozel’s face to turn a brighter red.
“ Nozel does have a point. A Captain’s meeting is no place for a young child,” Fuegoloen agreed before he reached out to take her from Yami. “ So I suggest that she stay with Marx for the time being, and once the meetings over Yami can take her back. Alright?” He watched as all the others nodded and he carefully carried the child through the doors and to Marx.
The meeting ended fairly quickly and now Yami was heading back to the Black Bulls Hideout. After being full of energy all day she had finally wore herself out and was sound asleep in Yami’s arms. He chuckled a bit as he looked down at her, as much as he didn’t want to babysit her at first, he had to admit it was a nice change of pace and he was actually going to miss her being this small.
At least until she woke up and began to torment everyone again, then he wouldn’t be able to wait until she transformed back into her normal self again.

Thank you all so much for reading and I hope you all have a good day~!

Tired from the training, he carried his daughter to home...
His firstborn daughter was strong and brave just like her mother. When people looked at her, they could tell right away that she was Charlotte's kid.
His daughter had that blonde hair and ocean blue eyes same as her mother but Yami could see beyond that.
His effortlessly beautiful wife was smart, skilful, powerful, and was kind hearted. Charlotte was also the best partner he ever had and the best mother to their children.
"Hey, uh... this is probably not a good thing to say as a parent, but among your siblings, you are my favorite."
He knew she was sleeping at his back, so he continued...
"I don't do wishes because I have always believed in taking actions but every time I look at your mom, I wish to have a daughter who looks exactly like her."
Yami smiled at the thought, "And so, you came."

“Do you think he is dead?”
Zenon Zogratis kept quiet.
“I mean he has to be if we suddenly came out of the…haze.”
Yesterday, three siblings were planning a strategy for the next battle to push into Clover Kingdom in Dante Zogratis’s office but then, the hold over them just vanished. The malice that motivated them to scorch this kingdom to the ground just…disappeared. There was an hour of panic and existential crisis then Dante went catatonic. Vanica Zogratis stayed quiet in thought for once while Zenon sprung into action. He pulled back all troops and locked up those he knew weren’t just simply listening to orders but actually wanted to hurt people. He lugged Vanica around to use force where it was needed and Dante joined soon after, with a new resolve glimmering in his eyes.
“He fucked with our heads I get that, but why make us forget Aika? I didn’t matter what we remembered or not—”
“That was a different spell.”
Vanica and Dante looked at Zenon with furrowed brows.
“How do you know that?”
“Do I need to explain magic sensing to you two?” He asked quietly as he turned to look at the snowfall. The streets were blanketed in a soft layer of white and people were daring to step outside again. He felt like he was hearing music for the first time again as a miscellaneous group of kids and adults sang songs of home and about flying and being free.
The cathedral in the capital opened its doors once again and a sweet chorus sang. And the whole city sang with them, out loud, under their breaths, and in their hearts.
Across my memory
“Then why did we forget her?”
“It’s not only us, Vanica.” Dante sat next to Vanica with his hands clasped together. “I heard some of the guards and former classmates of hers talking about them suddenly remembering her all at the same time. Some are theorising that she must have hidden her existence for some reason and that she died so the spell must have disappeared with her.”
“That seems most likely, yes.”
“But why at the same time as our brother’s brainwashing?”
Vanica gasped.
“You don’t think?”
“They must have found one another and fought and both died at the same time.”
“But that means Julius should have also died and we would have received news by now if Clover Kingdom’s Wizard King is dead.”
“Not necessarily,” Zenon interjected, slowly pacing back and forth in front of his siblings. “If Lucius died, Julius wouldn’t die just because they share the same body.”
“Isn’t that the basis of them sharing the same body and Lucius choosing to keep Julius alive?”
“I don’t know why Lucius kept Julius alive but I know for a fact that while they ‘share the same body’ their bodies are not the same. Julius had a papercut and when he switched with Lucius, the cut was gone.”
“You noticed that? How?”
“He spent most of the time in Lucius and Julius’s lap so I’m not surprised,” Vanica teased, scooching closer to Dante’s side as he wrapped an arm around her.
Zenon froze when fond memories hit him.
Far away, long ago.
Julius would laugh as he would tickle little Zenon, revelling in his squirms and giggles and then abruptly switch with Lucius so he could experience it first hand too. Zenon would stop slowly when he realised that the hands stopped and they were a bit colder, fingers a bit longer as they laid on his head. He would stare up at his older brother, confused and be met with dark hair and an impassive face and he would hug Lucius anyways, hoping that it would make him happy just as it would make Julius happy.
Glowing as dim an ember,
Things my heart used to know.
Zenon never knew if it worked, but even if it did, it didn’t matter because here he was, far into his adult life, with a reputation as a psychopath and a tyrant, believing that he was serving his country.
All because of him.
Things it yearns to remember.
They were now under house arrest as Queen Ciel assumed the Spade throne, trying to get the domestic and international matters in order.
A knock sounded on his bedroom door and it swung open without giving them a chance to reply.
“I have a message from Queen Ciel.”
Speak of the Devil. Ironic.
“She requests that the most sensible sibling, Zenon Zogratis, come help her figure out some of the paperwork and other matters.”
“Did she throw in that insult too?” Vanica drawled.
And a song someone sings.
“No, I did,” the messenger smirked as she looked at their anti-magic bracelets.
“Whatever, but believe it or not, we actually did the paperwork and the planning and the decisions together ,” Dante lied. “So you would need all three of us to be of any use.”
Zenon went with it, nodding as the messenger looked at him for confirmation. Dante and Vanica would hate to feel left out and he would rather not deal with the whining when he would come back.
“Alright,” the messenger’s magic whizzed through the air, tying them together, tethered to her. “Follow me.”
Zenon sighed as his two older siblings giggled conspiratorially, and they marched to their uncertain futures.
Once upon a December.

Sister Lily sang a song she had been hearing since last night, wafting from the West, where she heard just this afternoon, was liberated from the Zogratis siblings. She smiled.
Hage laid still at the frontier, the Demon Skull casting a shadow as the Sun set in the West and Sister Lily prayed to the Goddess for the people of Spade. She prayed that they may live free again and smile at the same Moon and stars as her.
Asta and Yuno, the oldest children at the church, bounded around the tree where she sat. While Asta chased him in good-natured fun, Yuno had a determined look on his face.
Sister Lily touched her cheek and sighed.
Ever since that day when Yuno was supposed to give a letter to the Mayor and Asta followed him, they both came back, looking extremely beat up. Yuno hadn’t shed a single tear since that day. When asked why, he said he decided to never cry because he needed to be strong if he wanted to be Wizard King.
She didn’t know what to say except support him in his dream. When Asta said the same thing, she felt sad. As much as he was a strong kid with his heart in the right place, she couldn’t encourage him because when he realises that it is completely out of his reach, he will despair.
She could not lie to him like that.
“Sister Lily! Can you hear that?”
A stampede slightly shook the ground and she quickly hid the two kids behind her legs as she looked at the Grand Magic Zone past the forest in worry.
She could see some firelit torches shining between the trees and smoke. It wasn’t an army. It was neither fast nor big but it was a sizable group of people making their way over.
Sister Lily fiddled with the keystone in her pocket given by their new neighbours. Raymond and Lydia said they were retired Magic Knights and were willing to help if need be. She hesitated though. What if it was nothing?
When the first line of men broke through the tree line, she activated the keystone. She wasn’t taking my chances.
The group made their way to her, the only person in sight.
As they got closer, she could see their clothes a bit more clearly. They were men and women of the Spade Kingdom with their fur-lined cloaks and heavy chains keeping them together. These were soldiers.
Sister Lily’s heart raced as she silently prayed for Raymond and Lydia to come quicker.

Jayce stumbled and braced himself against the cold stone wall. Ever since that day he had been plagued by uncomfortable dreams, sometimes edging on the nightmarish side. He could feel himself getting sick with the lack of proper sleep. The dreams, he feared, were not really dreams but memories. Memories of Julius Novachrono. They were not all of his memories, just the disturbing parts of his childhood in Spade Kingdom.
It came to him as a surprise that he was not from around here but he was not the one to judge. Jayce was also not from around here, but from the neighbouring Diamond Kingdom.
Diamond kingdom where many of his sealed sigils exist.
Every seal, every oath, every promise, all sorts of magic broke down in that room that day.
Between visiting Evan, studying, doing Miss Aika’s paperwork as her proxy, and redoing the broken seals not only in Diamond Kingdom but all over the world: in dungeons, caves, under the sea, in uncharted forests and territories but he had some people as capable at sealing magic help him out in various regions. Jayce was so grateful that he only had to execute the final runes of some of them.
Regardless, it was safe to say that with no proper sleep or food for two weeks, he was haggard as all hell and felt it in his soul. He was understandably afraid to even look at himself in the mirror.
“Yo!”
Jayce turned around, not even bothering to hide his exhaustion.
“Mister Arthur,” he looked past the man and saw the Magic Knight Captains following him. That’s strange but Arthur often was. “And Co.”
Fuegoleon waved in greeting as Arthur peeled him off the wall and supported his weight on him. Jayce shook his hand gingerly once he was close enough.
“Congrats on Captainship again, Fuego. It looks good on you.”
“Thank you, Jayce. But weeks of no sleep does not look good on you.”
He laughed hoarsely.
“How is the paper Miss Aika assigned coming along?” The Captains gathered around them, failing to hide their eagerness to listen. Fuegoleon has been working on an idea that Miss Aika had given to him as a present for becoming Captain. She had not even sat down with him and properly congratulated him but simply sent him a letter and a package of books for him to read and research. Books about fire magic, mundane sciences such as chemistry and physics, electricity and magnetism, a rare book about Time Magic by an unnamed author, and for some reason, spirituality and transcendence through magic that is entirely theoretical and never been achieved before. At least on public record. She gave him such an assignment as a gift.
“Well,” Fuegoleon sighed. “I finally have a title for it.”
“I didn’t know you were working on a paper,” Jien sidled up to him, poking in the side light-heartedly, but inwardly, he was dying of curiosity. Fuegoleon is undoubtedly very smart but he had never heard of the man doing any sort of research or writing a paper. “What is it about?”
“‘Reversibility of Entropy through the Attribute of Fire: An Expansion on Laplace’s Demon.’ That’s the title.” Fuegoleon bore a slight frown as he said it.
“Reversibility of Entropy…” Jien tapped his chin as he searched his memory. “People with the Fire attribute did try that before but research has shown that entropy cannot be perfectly reverse engineered unless…” His eyes widened as realisation struck him. “Unless you can use Time Magic!”
Jayce grinned as the fog lifted from his head. Miss Aika was crazy.
“She is trying to teach you Time Magic!” He exclaimed.
Fuegoleon nodded grimly.
“It didn’t make sense why she would do that but after that day…” She was using him as an experiment essentially, to see how people can develop Time Magic through fire.
“Why would she try to teach you Time Magic?” Nozel raised a curious brow. There was something they were not telling about that day two weeks ago when the Captain’s meeting happened.
Fuegoleon looked to Jayce who nodded.
“Because, Miss Aika, like Sir Julius, also uses Time Magic.”
Nozel and the rest of the Captains were silent for a second, then burst into noise.
“What?!” Nozel hissed.
“Is it a weaker version of Time Magic or?”
“There is a reason why there is no record of Time Magic ever.”
“Yes, even Sir Julius’s ability to wield it is a historical moment but everyone knows it’s strange.”
“Mhm. Even his grimoire looks strange.”
“Well, we hide it from the general public because it’s a tactical advantage but we also don’t want negative attention from foreigners overseas. They would want to use it for all sorts of things.”
“Wait, wait, wait!” Jayce exclaimed, holding his head, taking his time to put together a coherent sentence. Everyone quieted down and looked at him.
“There is no record of Time Magic? Ever?”
“Weaker forms of it had existed before but not to the extent Sir Julius has. Wielding it is believed to be forbidden.” Charlotte offered.
“Why?”
Everyone looked away, uncomfortable with the question posed. Jayce was confused. Why the sudden awkward atmosphere?
Nozel squared his shoulders and spoke up.
“Because a long time ago, the Time Devil, Astaroth had declared when he was summoned that Time Magic will never be wielded by anyone because it’s too much power in any human’s hands.”
“Nozel!” Fuegoleon snarled.
“Hold on. Why is everyone on the edge about this?”
Arthur sighed. “Because in the Clover Kingdom, knowing about devils, forbidden magic and stuff is taboo.”
“That’s the issue? Haven’t all of you maimed and tortured before?”
“I mean yer right but you don’t have to say the quiet part out loud,” The tall, lanky Captain with blades on his forearms harrumphed.
“Then y’all can relax a little bit. So you’re telling me that it’s a little suspicious that they both happened to have Time Magic, both know each other, are born on the same day, share the same blood type, and are a little in love?”
“I don’t buy into that hanky panky superstition stuff,” Gueldere began “but same day, same blood type, and same magic that is supposedly forbidden?” He shook his head. “That sounds awfully suspicious to me.”
“Yeah, just like you,” Jack nudged him in a thinly veiled insult.
“It’s not superstition.” Fuegoleon said as his frown deepened. “In a world of magic, it is an indication of important events.”
“Shouldn’t we all be moving along,” Arthur dramatically waved down the hall. “To the study to meet with your Master that you are oh-so-suspicious of?”
“Well, you don’t think that with your two thousand years of knowledge, it’s a little suspicious? Has there really never been any Time Mages as long as you have lived?”
“Wait, he’s two thousand years old?” A Captain whispered to another.
“No, there have been no Time Mages but there are now and yes it is a significant event and as for the coincidence, extraordinary individuals have extraordinary backgrounds,” Arthur explained in one breath. “There is no conspiracy, there is nothing. Don’t go poking your heads where it doesn’t belong now if we can please move along.”
Fuegoleon looked like he wanted to say more but he kept quiet. He could ask after the meeting.
“Can you walk?” Arthur whispered to Jayce, his arm tightening around his waist.
“I don’t know,” Jayce murmured. Just as quickly as he regained his energy, he lost it again. His body felt heavier and his stomach turned. The older man just sighed and picked him up.
“Where are you headed?”
Jayce didn’t even care to be embarrassed to be carried at his grown age. He was far too tired for it. The last time he saw Arthur, they might have been like cats picking fights for seemingly no apparent reason, but next time they see each other, they always go back to normal. That was simply their dynamic. He laid his head on the man’s chest and sighed,
“The study. The armchairs look really comfy.”
“What a coincidence, we’re headed to the same place.”
Jayce was swimming in and out of consciousness. He just wanted some sleep.
“Mmm.”

Sukehiro Yami brought his painting up to sunlight to see the pencil sketch beneath the painting. The Black Bulls insignia is coming along very nicely. He even used his expensive metallic gold paint for the accent colour, and in his humble opinion, it definitely catches one’s eye.
He looked at William Vangeance’s draft of his own squad’s insignia from the corner of his eye. Yami didn’t know much about the guy except that his Qi was all strange and wrong from the handful of times he worked with him. And today, he found out he was also shit at drawing.
Yami was making all sorts of faces but he most probably can’t even see because peripheral vision is blocked by that ugly mask of his. He had always wondered why he would wear that mask knowing that a good bit of his vision was blocked.
But each to their own, I guess.
His fingers itched to reach for a cig but he refrained considering that he was sitting in a lavish study, stuffed floor to ceiling in books on top of books. Julius may actually get mad for once if he waved a lit one near his books. He’ll be considerate for once.
Only for Julius though.
Yami and William froze when the doors to the study creaked open. They turned expectantly for the Wizard King and Captains to walk in but to their surprise, it was a little girl with long blonde hair who invited herself in. She carried some art supplies under her arm and closed the door quietly behind her.
She toddled over to the coffee table the Captains-to-be were hunching over and made herself comfortable on the floor and table-space opposite to them.
“You guys mind if I use this table?”
“Not at all,” William assured her instinctively but he was still unsure who she was or if she could even be in here.
“Thanks.”
They just stared at her as she kneeled on the floor and spread her supplies out on the table. It looked like she had already finished lining her sketch and just got to colouring. She stuck her tongue out as she concentrated. What felt like forever passed as they stared at her but it had only been a minute.
The little girl sighed as she set her pencil down, exasperated.
“Have you two never seen a kid or something?”
“Where are your parents, kid?” Yami blurted before William could.
“I think it’s more polite to ask someone their name first but okay.” She picked her colour pencil up and continued filling in between the lines. “My mom is on a work trip and my dad is also working.”
“What’s your name, young lady?” William asked, slightly embarrassed. He doesn’t see many kids around except maybe on missions or errands in populated areas. He can’t think of anyone at the Magic Knight headquarters who may have a kid. In his field, everyone would almost instantly know if anyone at work had a kid.
“My name is Holly. Thank you for asking, Cool Mask Guy.”
Yami stifled a laugh at William’s shock. Almost everyone thought that mask of his was tacky but that kid’s quick and honest compliment must’ve been nice.
“Why thank you, Holly.” He smiled. “Do you know anyone in this building?”
“Yeah, don’t worry. I’m not some random kid that wandered into the Magic Knight Headquarters.”
William laughed.
“That’s good! Do you like my mask, Holly?”
“Mhm.” She looked up to take a closer look at it. “It looks good in an ironic way.”
It was Yami’s turn to laugh.
“Haha, thank you,” William covered his mouth as he chuckled. “My name is William, by the way. William Vangeance.”
“Cool name too.”
Holly turned and looked expectantly at Yami.
“Yami Sukehiro.”
“Is that first name, last name or last name, first name?”
“Huh?”
“‘Cause I know in the East you say last name, first name.”
He huffed in amusement. No one had ever realised that before.
“Just call me Yami.”
“Nice to meet you, Yami.”
The three fell into companionable silence after acquainting themselves. After a while, Yami had finished his drawing and sat back to stare at the sealing. Holly got bored of colouring for a bit so she started a new drawing, using the two men in front of her as models. William looked up from his sketching and smiled when he saw that she was drawing them, and she was especially being careful with the way she drew his mask.
“Want to know a cool fact about my mask, Holly?”
“Sure!” She chirped. She seemed to be warming up to them.
“The Wizard King was the one who made this for me when I was younger and he made different sizes of it as I grew older.”
Yami listened indifferently. He didn’t know that but that sounds like something Julius would do. He’s got a soft spot for kids.
Instead of amazement, William was met with a warm smile.
“Yeah. Julius is cool like that.”
“You’re on a first name basis with the Wizard King?” William asked, in half confusion and amusement.
Holly went back to her drawing causally as she said, “Yeah. I think I can be since he’s smooching my mom.”
Yami’s head snapped to her, nearly giving himself whiplash.
Blonde hair, light purple eyes, working dad.
“Are you Julius’s secret love child?”
Holly looked up at him in shock and fell back laughing.
William and Yami just stared at her helplessly. If she was his kid, they felt a little betrayed because Julius hasn't told them a single thing about his life even though they have both known him since they were children. He was so charismatic that most people forget to inquire about him or his family. But even when they did, he had always dodged the question. He did let it slip once that he had a sister but no one dared to make any jokes about it. One guy tried it. He tried to make a poorly constructed joke about becoming Julius’s brother-in-law and everyone in the vicinity who heard the joke saw Julius’s face and found out first hand how terrifying he can be.
“I don’t think his secret love child would be hanging around the building where he works!” Holly guffawed, clutching her stomach. She slowly came to as she wiped tears away, feeling a little bad for the men she left in suspense.
“He’s just courting my mom. I think it’s really cute.”
Yami and William shared a look. Wow. They both sat back in shock.
“Why do y’all look like that?”
“Well, we’ve never heard of our Captain—well, not captain anymore but, we’ve never heard of him courting anyone,” William explained.
“He looks pretty good for his age. And he’s really nice and cool. Why couldn’t he get a date before?”
Yami could not stop laughing at that.
“It’s because I didn’t want to.”
Holly leapt to her feet at the familiar voice of her mother’s lover. He stepped out of the mini passage between his office and study and smiled warmly at them, the corners of his lips reaching his tired eyes.
“Julilus!”
William and Yami stood up at his arrival, the latter man wiping tears as he spluttered with laughter.
“Holly!”
Holly ran and jumped up into Julius’s arms and hugged him tight. He buried his face in her shoulder as he felt oddly emotional. He suddenly missed the days when his wards were younger and now they’re about to become Captains, he missed the memories of his childhood, hugging his younger siblings. He was at his wits end about his past coming back to him but he had to be composed. He was doing his best not to think about Aika because he was losing his peace of mind every time he did. It was a little hard not to when he was hugging her daughter but he has been through harder things in life. He can do this.
Julius pulled back with a sniffle and gave Holly a watery smile when she furrowed her brows at him in concern.
“I’ll be fine,” he whispered.
He had to be fine. He was the Wizard King.
Julius turned his attention to Yami and William.
“Congratulations you two,” Holly stayed close to him, resting on his hip, propped up on his arm. “Chairman Kira has finally approved your Captainship.”
“You knew he would,” Yami smirked, his left hand resting on the hilt of his sword and his right brought up to his chest in a Three-Clover Salute. William mirrored him with a polite smile. Julius did know he would. His foresight was a blessing.
“We would be honoured to dedicate our grimoires to you, Sir,” they declared in unison.
Julius beamed with pride. He was so, so proud of how far they have come. Two scraggly little boys who had no dependable adults in their lives; he was glad they had grown to not only depend but look up to him and followed his path to become a Magic Knight and then a Captain. He wanted to peer into the future but he refrained. He was sure one of the two would follow his footsteps to become Wizard King as well.
Julius absolutely refused to let them be pawns in Lucius’s game, raised to be lambs for slaughter.

A young woman, a nurse, wiped down her patient. The man lying in bed was tall with dark, dark hair with purple eyes. Well, purple eye. His other eye was covered with an eye patch for her and everyone else’s safety because it thrummed with ominous mana. Everyone felt like they should avoid it and it was no problem because it doesn’t seem to be causing him any issues.
Purple eyes were common, especially where she was from. In her culture, people believed that it was a sign of great potential; for magic or for life. Mainly for magic though. She lived in a Grand Magic Zone after all.
It was a region called Bain, snowy and white. Only specks of colour were the dark wood and leaves of evergreen trees and plants. It was fine by her though because it was not like she could leave. Her people have adapted to survive in the snowy Grand Magic Zone and have a lot of mana but they cannot survive outside of it because there was so little mana everywhere else. Because of the environment, they also had light skin and even lighter hair to absorb energy from what little sunlight they received. Warm blood, almost literal fire, coursing through their veins, which also makes Fire Magic common amongst them.
So the dark hair was somewhat of a rare sight. The man was clearly not from around here.
They do have adventurers and travelers that pass through their Grand Magic Zone but even then it was kind of rare for this dark of hair.
If she was being honest, she was jealous. She wished she had dark hair. She wished she could be an adventurer and see the world. She heard there are places in the world that are just fantastically green all over or even blue. She wished she was from a place where she wouldn’t have this light hair.
Hyperfixation on his hair aside, the young woman massaged her patient’s calves with her Fire Magic, keeping them warm and blood flowing faster as she eased her mana into the flesh.
Most people’s mana just get overwhelmed after a few days of staying in this region but after a week of staying here, his mana which was depleted before, was actually replenishing at the same rate as natives here. Healers have concluded that he was from another Grand Magic Region and was allowed to stay.
“Listen if I just place the pillow over his face,” her partner whispered in induced madness. “It will open up one more bed for us in the ward. These travelers keep taking up spots that us native folks desperately need!”
She just sighed. This clinic was only for outsiders to use specifically so they don’t take up beds and medical attention away from the natives. But she didn’t even bother correcting them because the homicidal behaviour was due to her patient’s unique mana as a Forbidden Magic user.
She had exposure to forbidden magic before so she was fine but her partner wasn’t. Usually they wouldn’t be in this room but they were a bit short staffed today so they had to step in.
“Okay, Mier. Time for you to step out.” She pushed them out with only a bit of resistance but to her shock, they swiftly side stepped her. Mier grabbed a glass bottle near them, broke it against the wall and lunged at her patient.
She could only watch in horror as her body didn’t move.
Mier threw themselves against the prone man but when they fell on top of him, they fell on the bed.
The man disappeared.
“Sad to see someone lose their sanity like that.”
The young nurse jumped when a voice spoke beside her. She pressed her back against the wall as she looked up in fear at the tall man. Her patient had woken up.
He raised his hands and backed off.
“I didn’t mean to scare you.”
She stayed quiet and breathed deeply when anxiety threatened to clog her mind. But in that brief moment of silence, Mier threw themself again at her patient but the man held them at an arm's length and flicked them between their eyes, hard enough to knock them out.
They went slack and the man caught them before they fell to the ground.
“Sorry, I don’t want him to hurt me so I had to do that.”
“Them,” she corrected him reflexively. But she regretted it because she might’ve made the situation worse. He was definitely toying with her but she didn’t want to incur his wrath.
“Sorry, I didn’t want them to hurt me so I had to do that,” the man smoothly corrected himself as he placed Mier onto the bed he was previously in.
She relaxed. Wow. He took it really well and corrected himself immediately. That told her a lot about his character.
“What’s your name…Miss?” She nodded as she conjured up a shaky smile.
“Gwynevere.”
“Like the Princess of Sunlight?” He asked with a charming smile.
She blushed as she looked at his feet. He was trying to make her feel at ease and she appreciated that.
“Yes.” She was the Princess of Sunlight but he didn’t need to know that. “What’s your name? We…we couldn’t ID you.”
“I have a few names but one that is most known in this area is ‘Sarkany?’” He asked and looked at her to see if that rang any bells. She stared at him blankly. It didn’t.
“Could you go talk to your supervisor about it and maybe bring me some clothes, Gwynevere?”
That’s right. He was standing barefoot and naked in his hospital gown and she should probably let someone know he had woken up.
“I will be right back then.”
He nodded with a polite smile and she walked out without turning her back to him.
He was quick and not lethargic at all meaning he must have been awake for a while but he seems relatively harmless for now. She needed to be careful regardless.
Gwynevere went and explained the situation to the Head Healer. He tsked when she told him what happened to Mier.
“These outsiders will put their hands on anybody, I swear.” She explained to him that Mier was trying to kill the patient but he didn’t care. “Did he tell you his name?” “He said the name ‘Sarkany’ should be familiar.”
The Head Healer grew pale when she said his name. Maybe it did mean something then and she just didn’t know.
“Okay, Okay,” he hastily put his coat on. “Get the man what he wants and treat him as if he were our own.”
Gwynevere grabbed onto his sleeve as he turned away to supposedly go see the man.
“Wait, sir. Who is he?”
“I’m so surprised you don’t know but you are out here from that castle of yours to learn about us common folk and the world anyways so know this: That man is Atropos Tolliver and he is Eidolon’s best agent. He is very strong and not someone to mess with.”
“Oh.” She didn’t know what to say to that. She did know about Eidolon but not about Atropos Tolliver. She could tell he was strong and it made sense.
She brought some loose, brown pants, white shirt and a long strip of cloth to tie around his waist while her supervisor spoke to the man she was assuming.
She neared the door and she heard voices talk.
“No, no. Mier may have had trouble but Miss Gwynevere was the perfect caretaker.”
“Thank you, thank you! I’m glad to hear that her training has paid off. I am so sorry I didn’t recognize you earlier, Sir. You didn’t make your portrait public so I hope you understand…”
“Absolutely. Please don’t treat me any differently and contact the guild for the expenses. They should pay it in full.”
Gwyn walked in and felt strange when their eyes turned to her. She handed his clothes to him and stepped back as she looked at the floor.
“Thank you,” he said solemnly and she felt her ears burn.
Later after he checked out, he stopped her as she passed by him.
She craned her neck up to look at him in his one eye.
“I studied Medicine when I was your age.” Gwyn’s eyes widened in surprise. “You demonstrated excellent use of mundane and magic techniques in your physiotherapy for me. Well done.”
“How long were you awake?”
“Long enough. I apologise if that makes you uncomfortable.”
She shook her head.
“No, I was just wondering…You’re welcome. I was just doing my job.”
He patted her on the head as he walked out.
Gwyn stared at his back and wondered if she would ever see him again. Why did she feel that way? She didn’t know. Her heart was beating fast and it was in her throat. That man was scary for reasons she knew, but she wondered about what she didn’t know. The red cloak he borrowed billowed in the wind and the door snapped shut behind him.
That was not the last time she would see him.

Notes:
- In the first scene, the song “Once Upon a December” from Anastasia is playing and the lyrics are displayed in the scene.
- Next chapter, how will the former Wizard King and his wife deal with the uninvited guests? How will Julius and the Captains react when they see Yami and William’s squad insignias? When will Gwyn see Atropos again?
- As you could’ve guessed by now, Atropos is Aika. Aika having transformation magic and it being limited to her being a man was referenced in earlier chapters with Aika’s conversations with Julius.
- Sarkany was also a code name used for her in this region of the world. It’s the name that Sven, the assassin, used when he came to kill Aika.
- Julius is suffering right now but we don’t get to see the depth of it until the next chapter.
- What is Fuegoleon working on? You can ask me all about it on my tumblr or find out in chapter 17 or 18.
- Laplace’s demon is an old idea of determinism in Newtonian days that basically says that if you know the past, you could explain the present and if you know the present, you could predict the future with equations and such. When we’re talking about the future, we’re talking about the movement of objects and particles and such. This idea of determinism in science was cast aside when scientists realised that the world has random components and forces in it that cannot be predicted and this is the science of chaos. A part of why determinism in science doesn’t work is because the entropy of the universe, the disorder of particles as they expand, is very chaotic and unpredictable after a certain extent. So you cannot reverse entropy, physically or mathematically.
- So, Fuegoleon is trying to use his understanding of fire and heat to reverse entropy but that would mean using Time Magic. But it doesn’t have to be time magic specifically, but it can be time magic as a magic form. Magic forms are basically sub classes of the attributes in Black Clover. For example, trap magic even though Zora has Ash Magic, transformation magic when Julius has time magic, memory magic even though Ralph has fire magic, etc.

As Time Moves On Part 2: A Rose Blooming in Darkness
Summary: Yami reaches out to Charlotte with a question and she replies with a confession. And in turn, Yami voices a pledge. Genre: general, slight romance Word count: ~3200 A/N: Thank you to @lyranova and @thoughtfullyrainynightmare for beta reading this fic and Vanished Kira.
..........
Yami stared at the cloudy, noon-time sky. Faint wisps of smoke drifted past his vision every few seconds as he puffed a cigarette.
While winding down from the events in Spade, Yami had begun to recall vague memories from when he had nearly died by Lucifero’s hand. He remembered gathering his quickly fading strength to protect Asta for the kid to unleash his final attack on a severed torso of a devil. He remembered pain and his vision going dark, not from his or Nacht’s magic though. From death looming over him.
Then there was a voice. Charlotte’s voice. It was so loud and sounded desperate.
And the next thing Yami knew, he was alive again.
Yami couldn’t recall the words spoken to him though. He’d spent well over a month trying to piece together what she had said. He tried and tried before he determined that he had been too out of it to hear a thing.
Yami had once considered that maybe Charlotte had just been scolding him for dying. That sounded like something Charlotte would do. Then again, it didn’t explain her recent skittishness at captains’ meetings. If Charlotte had scolded a dying man, Yami suspected some temporary shame before an apology but not the levels of embarrassment that she’d been showing around him. So with his one guess ruled out, he changed his tactics.
To learn the truth, Yami needed to hear it straight from Charlotte.
Yami had invited Charlotte over to the base for tea earlier that week. He wanted to go to a restaurant, same as they did when discussing Charlotte’s curse. But Vanessa and Josele insisted that he pick somewhere more private. Their pestering made him ask if they knew what Charlotte had said but Vanessa promptly walked away from the conversation, laughing, while Josele smiled ever so calmly and told Yami, “It’s not my place to say.” And so the pair of captains would meet in the casual privacy of the Black Bull’s hideout.
That brought Yami to where he was in the present, waiting for Charlotte’s arrival. Something about expecting her was nerve-wracking. He couldn’t place why though.
Was it the fact that they were meeting outside of work-related reasons? Was it her taking time out of her busy day and prioritizing him, if for a short time? Did it have to do with him not knowing what Charlotte had said at all and he was actually worried about what her words were?
Yami sat up and shook his head. His brain was going to weird places.
And that’s when he heard her.
“Hello? Yami? I’m here as you requested!” Charlotte called out, prompting Yami to shelve his thoughts.
Yami leaned over the edge of the roof and grinned down at Charlotte.
“Afternoon, Prickly Princess!” he responded. “And I’d like to point out, I only asked you to be here.”
Charlotte bowed her head and shook it before looking up at Yami. “Regardless of how you beckoned me here, I’ve arrived. Shall we have tea or not?”
“Right right! I’ll be down in a moment!”
…..
Charlotte took a sip of the amber-colored liquid in her teacup. While it looked like an ale from a tavern, the drink didn’t have the hit that alcohol did. It was a gentle, toasted flavor instead.
“What kind of tea is this?” she asked in genuine curiosity.
“Barely tea. It’s from my homeland,” Yami explained. “Or well, the closest I can make. I only just recently got the tea to tasting this good through a lot of trial and error.”
Charlotte raised her eyebrows at this. She never suspected Yami to have a side project like this. Or one at all. Then again, she tended to her manor’s garden in her sparse free time so it made sense for Yami to take up a hobby that made him feel more at home as well.
“I applaud your effort, Yami. It’s not a flavor I’d expect from tea, but it’s quite refreshing,” Charlotte said with a smile. Her relaxed expression quickly fell away though. “But enough of basic pleasantries. You said you had something to ask of me.” She set down her cup and rested her chin on the back of her interlocked hands. “So, what is it?”
“Don’t look so worked up,” chuckled Yami. “‘S nothing serious if that’s what you’re worried about.”
“Considering all four kingdoms are still rebuilding from Spade’s— From the Zogratis’ misdeeds…” Charlotte’s voice trailed off, realizing her mistake.
The everyday citizens of the Spade Kingdom had been victims themselves under the rule of the Zoagratis family. To blame the country as a whole would be in poor taste.
“…it’s hard for me not to still be on edge.”
Yami mutely nodded in agreement.
“As I was saying…” Charlotte raised her head and put a hand on her cup again. “What is it you wished to discuss?”
Yami stared into Charlotte’s eyes for a moment, seeming to consider something. He took a deep breath. Then,
“When I was about to die, you yelled something at me. What did you say?”
The question made Charlotte’s heart skip a beat and her face heat up in an instant.
Of course she knew that Yami hadn’t heard her confession. She remembered him asking more than a month ago, right on the just-calmed-down battlefield. But she also blacked out then, preventing her from answering.
Charlotte had debated reaching out to Yami and re-admitting her love. But between the labor of regular Magic Knight duties, aiding in reconstruction after the Zogratis’ attacks, and simply worrying about confessing again, she never managed to go through with the idea.
And now… Yami had approached her about it.
Charlotte bowed her head and stared into her half-empty cup, hoping to hide her flushed cheeks.
I did it once before. Surely I can do it again! Charlotte told herself. And this time he’ll… What if he misunderstands and thinks I only see him as a friend? Or he could take it as a joke and laugh me off. Charlotte’s grip on her drink tightened. What if he outright rejects me because of how rude I’ve been to him in the past? For as lowbrow and casual as Yami came off, Charlotte knew he still had his pride as a Captain and a regular man. Or maybe he’s already in a relationship with that witch in his squad?
“Is it really that bad?” Yami’s voice broke Charlotte out of her head.
“Huh?” Mind still racing. Heart racing even faster. And face positively burning. Charlotte still dared to look at Yami.
The man’s face was neutral. But not in a way that was lost in thought, but rather as though he was in deep contemplation. It was a different look for him.
“I don’t know what you said to me back then but if you really don’t wanna say, it must be bad…” Yami paused to take a sip of his drink. “Didn’t mean to bother you. I’ll forget if y—”
“No!” Charlotte exclaimed without thinking. She took a deep breath. She needed her composure for this. “Yami, the truth is…” Charlotte heard her heartbeat in her ears but she pressed on. “The truth of the matter is that I love you Yami Sukehiro!”
Yami blinked a couple of times.
“Charlotte…”
Her name on his lips was so different from his usual nickname. Soft and sweet. But Charlotte couldn’t let herself swoon over that. Not in that moment.
“I understand that it must sound strange, considering how I tend to treat you, but it’s the truth. I became infatuated with you years ago and that feeling has become love.”
“Charlotte…” Again her name sounded so different in Yami’s voice. The look on his face was something she couldn’t place. She knew, though, that she didn’t feel anxious with Yami’s eye on her. “Are you sure?”
The question made Charlotte pause. Of all the possible responses, she never considered the one that turned out to be reality.
“What do you mean?” Charlotte asked, as if it was the only thing she could answer with. “I may not have much experience with romance”—Charlotte put hand to her heart. A feeble show of conviction due to her own confusion at the inquiry—“but I’m fairly certain of my feelings!”
“No.” Yami shook his head. “I mean, are you sure that you like me?”
“Huh?”
The significance in the change of the question wasn’t lost on Charlotte. Her feelings, her understanding of her own heart, were not the thing being questioned. It would’ve been unlike Yami, the captain of a squad that did whatever their hearts pleased, to make a big deal of what a person felt, anyways.
“I’m not exactly…” Yami tapped a finger on the table. “What’s the word? Passable? Pleasant? Something with a ‘p’…” He closed his eyes for a moment before faintly nodding. “Palatable.”
Charlotte said nothing, as it looked like Yami was going to keep talking.
“I’m Yami Sukehiro. I’ve got no manners. I’ve got this eerie Dark Magic. I’ve got all the worst habits, drinking and smoking and gambling. I’m the coarse and rude foreigner captain of the Black Bulls, the worst squad in the kingdom!” Yami laughed.
It sounded hollow and Charlotte knew. She’d heard genuine laughs from him. Ones that were lazy. Ones that were teasing and wanting to provide levity. She’d memorized and learned to appreciate all of Yami’s laughs and chortles. And his present chuckle was insincere, self-deprecating.
“I’m not the kind of guy most people would want to be with. I’m not the guy that a lady like you would go for.”
That was where Charlotte decided to stop him.
“Enough. While I can’t dispute most of what you’ve said,” she stated outright, no hesitation. “Your manners do leave much to be desired. Your magic and your origins are indeed peculiar, making you the target of judgment and derision. You’re not an ideal man by most people’s standards. But you’re not as bad as you think you are.” Charlotte watched Yami’s down-on-himself expression change to one of curiosity. She paused to hum and smile. “For one, you’re not the captain of the worst squad, not after the Bulls placed second at the Star Festival.”
“Heh, I guess that is something,” Yami muttered. He picked up his cup and swirled the drink inside for a moment. “But I mean…”
“And while you may not be ‘proper,’ that’s what I like about you,” Charlotte said plainly.
Yami let out a gasp and his eyes went wide.
“The men I’ve met who’ve been deemed ‘proper’ are… not pleasant in their own ways.” Charlotte closed her eyes and thought. “They act in ways that serve their egos, behaving not as gentlemen but as lesser beings. Akin to swine or toads.”
The thought alone made Charlotte frown the slightest bit.
Still, her remark caused Yami to let out a snort. She giggled, happy that she could get that reaction from him.
And she found that the words continued to flow out from her.
“Some men are more obvious in their unpleasantness, treating me as some object and acting as though they were entitled to my company. Others are less… offensive but no less bothersome.”
Yami hummed as he took a sip from his cup, prompting Charlotte to continue.
“There’s no end to the men who only praise me for my looks or throw themselves at my feet as though I wanted a sycophant for a lover,” Charlotte said with a sigh. “After so many men like that, you were a breath of fresh air in my life, Yami. Admittedly, I was first attracted to you because of your looks and how you saved me from my curse. But my infatuation grew beyond those shallow things over the years. You see me for my strengths but also acknowledge my weaknesses. You’re casual and friendly with me, even if I don’t always appreciate your approach. I’m drawn to how freely you express yourself and how you’re proud to stand out.”
As Charlotte went on, she watched as Yami’s eyes never left her. And the look of amusement he had when she’d talked about other men changed. It became a grin that was soft and… admiring. Charlotte felt a smile come to her own face.
The hammering feeling in her chest registered in her mind again. She felt the heat in her face all over again. There was a bit of dizziness in her head. Yet this time, those sensations weren’t from nervousness.
They were inviting. Compelling her heart to open further.
Charlotte held her head a little higher. She would let him see her, all of her with a burning red face and eyes full of determination, hoping that her words reached him.
“There’s much I have yet to learn about you. But I feel like I can say that I love you as you are, for who I know you to be.”
Once she was done talking, Charlotte took a deep breath.
I said it. I finally confessed, she thought to herself as she kept looking at Yami. Her hands, which were on the table and intertwined together, clenched in anticipation. All I can do now is hear his answer.
Yami tapped a finger against his cup a couple of times. Then, he let out a loud exhale.
“Man, Prickly Princess…” muttered Yami. “I told you before that I’ve got a sensitive heart and now you’ve gone and worked it up like crazy.”
Charlotte let out a small “Huh?”
“You were goin’ on about how you like me and I can’t give you a decent reply.” Yami sucked in a breath between his teeth and rubbed the back of his neck. “Truth is… I ain’t sure how I feel about you. I like to think we’re friends but… Sorry I just never considered you romantically.”
“Ahh… I… No, it makes sense,” was Charlotte’s quiet reply. It would’ve been a lie to say that her heart didn’t drop a little. Getting her hopes up that he’d reciprocate right out the gate had been foolish from the beginning. But still she… “It’s okay. I don’t need—”
“That said, it’s not hard to like someone like you.”
Those words made Charlotte jolt and her blush intensify by tenfold.
“Wh-wha-wha—? What?!”
There was a hum of amusement from Yami before he spoke again, “Aw c’mon. I’m oblivious but I’m not blind. You’re someone real amazing. Capable in battle and admired by your whole squad. Not to mention pretty fun to talk with.”
Charlotte involuntarily laughed at the thought of the banter that she and Yami had exchanged over the years. Was that really his idea of fun? Or maybe it was his reassurance that he was willing to look past her harsher words against him in the past. Whatever the truth was, it helped Charlotte loosen up. And her laughter brought out a bit of Yami’s own.
The space between them, that which was between their hearts, was closing the slightest bit.
“Guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m not just gonna tell you ‘no’ here and now.” Yami leaned forward on his arms. The expression on his face was relaxed yet contemplative. “I ain’t gonna ignore you, not after everything you’ve said.” His eyes were clear and focused on Charlotte, not wavering at all. “I know this doesn’t sound romantic but I need you to give me time to fall in love with you too. It’s not fair otherwise?”
Blue eyes went wide.
Yami’s words were not a promise to love her back. Not directly at least. Rather, they were something between a pledge and a plea. He would not accept Charlotte’s heart, which she had offered in shaking hands, until he could give his own heart in return.
Charlotte nodded her head then said, “It’s certainly not the most elegant proposition. But thank you for hearing me out and if you need time, then I’ll wait.” She took a sip of the barely tea and the roasted flavor tasted even better now that she wasn’t so strung up. “Though if you don’t mind me saying, I will be putting my best foot forward to make you fall.”
When she said that, Yami clapped a hand over his mouth and stifled a snicker. Charlotte raised a brow at his amusement.
“You’re making it sound like you’re trying to trip me,” he explained, his voice muffled by his hand still covering his mouth.
“Ack! That wasn’t—!”
“I know, I know.” Yami waved his hand in the air, like he was shooing away an insect. “Don’t sweat it. You’re a lady who's hard on the lads, but you’re not the type to kick a man when he’s down. Or, I guess trip him over.”
Charlotte let out an exasperated sigh. As much as she admired Yami and found his casualness part of his charm, his teasing threw her way off sometimes.
“Right…” Another sip of tea was taken. Charlotte was close to needing a refill. “So… I suppose now that I’ve said my piece and you’ve said yours…” Charlotte started to rise from her seat. However, Yami’s hand reaching across the table and grasping her wrist stopped her. “Y-Yami?!” Didn’t he say he needed time? Why is he being so forward all of a sudden?!
“C’mon Princess.” Yami uttered the nickname without the usual preceding adverb but rather with a softness that she wasn’t sure she’d known before. “Don’t just pour out your heart and run. Can’t you chat a bit more?” Yami let go of Charlotte’s wrist and pulled back. Then, he rested his chin in his palm. “I know I’d like your company for a bit longer. But, if you really gotta go…”
Charlotte looked down and touched the wrist which Yami had held. When she looked back to Yami and the inviting smile on his face.
“Alright then. But.” Charlotte swallowed hard then took a chance. “But only because you’re such a lonely man desperate for my attention.”
“Bwahahaaa! Hey, I’d like to think I’m just a little needy!”
Charlotte grinned with a bit more confidence as she sat back down. Yami refilled both their cups which she was thankful for. They’d need the refills since they would be at the table for a while longer.
…..
It wasn’t until hours later that Charlotte had to leave, called to return to base by her squad.
While Yami cleared the table they used, he was finally left alone with his thoughts.
And his thoughts were a repeat of Charlotte’s confession. And her face when she’d spoken it.
Her eyes…
Lighter than her roses but darker than the day sky. And looking at him, only him. She gazed at him with gentleness rather than cruelty. With sweetness rather than disgust.
Charlotte saw Yami as worthwhile, loveable. The fact that anyone, let alone a woman like her who was considered the picture of beauty, intelligence, and strength, wanted him for who he was left him feeling warm all over.
Yami set down the cups they’d used by the sink. He touched a hand to his chest.
My heart is still racing over it? Yami smiled to himself. Her words are stronger than she knows. And, again, the image of Charlotte flashed in his mind. Maybe I’m already falling in love…

HEADCANON: Charlotte & Vanessa bond over how dense Yami is.
Vanessa comes over to the Blue Roses' base a few days after the confession with a bottle of wine.
"I heard your confession. I'm sorry that Captain Yami's really thick."
They end up bonding over how stupid Yami can be over wine, and they get ridiculously drunk.
In between hiccups, Vanessa tells Charlotte they should hit up a tavern and let loose. Charlotte's so drunk that she says yes. Vanessa looks at Charlotte's uniform and frowns, "You can't go out in that! You're gonna cramp my style, Captain."
Vanessa uses her magic to make this outfit. Black is Yami's favourite colour, so Charlotte goes along with it.
They go into a random bar and guess who's there?!

Nem tão príncipe encantado assim.
YamiChar
Fanfic por NikkiYori
Capítulo I - Flores, conselhos e risadas.
Charlotte
Bom dia, Charlotte. Bom dia, Ino. — desejou empolgado.
— Ele vai me causar um infarto qualquer dia desses.
— ela zombou do platinado e ele ficou quieto.
— Akaashi fica tão bonitinho quando me repreende. — Deve me achar irritante.
— a loira afirmou.
Ele é igualzinho a ti nesse quesito.
— ele gritou do balcão.
— Então foi aí onde coloquei isso. — murmurei indo pegar o item.

"It was amazing," Charlotte muttered as she appeared down the sheets with disheveled hair.
With his muscled and strong arms, Yami embraced her to place a kiss on Charlotte's lips.
"I knew I had to take that sex pollen, otherwise I would've never taken the first step with you," Charlotte smiled as Yami cocked an eyebrow.
"Sex Pollen? Do you mean that little bottle over there?" Yami pointed at the table. She nodded. Breaking into laughter, Yami said, "That's not sex pollen! That's just fancy foot powder!"
"What!?" Charlotte hissed before laughing, "Thank you fancy foot powder then!" And they kissed again.

Can I ask for a Yamichar oneshot where Charlotte is pregnant and Yami only realizes it after she's telling him, despite his Ki reading?
Hiya anon! Of course you can anon, I love this idea since I can imagine Yami just brushing off her Ki being different to just her not feeling well. But I had a lot of fun writing this and I hope you enjoy reading it 🥰!
Word Count: 839
Warnings: Pregnancy
———
Yami silently made his way back to his home that he shared with Charlotte. She had told him earlier that morning that she was going to be going to see Owen since she hadn’t been feeling too well the past few days, and when Yami asked if she wanted him to come with her but she quickly refused. Yami had found it a little odd but didn’t think much more of it before he went to the Black Bulls Hideout.
Yami had waited for her to come by or to call him on the communication device and tell him what was going on but she never did. He waited and waited, but eventually gave up and figured she would tell him once he got home.
After being lost in his thoughts about what could be wrong he eventually found himself standing in front of his home. He shook his head for a moment to clear his thoughts, he took a deep breath before he placed his hand on the door knob and opened it.
When he walked inside he blinked in confusion.
Their dining table had food on it and a pair of candles in the center. There wasn’t a single light on in the house save for the two candles on the table a few spread out throughout the kitchen and living area. Yami turned as he noticed something move out of the corner of his eyes, he frowned a bit when he saw Charlotte walking out of the kitchen with a tray of food. She jumped for a moment and turned to look at him in surprise.
“ Y-Yami! You’re back early.” Charlotte said with a surprised tone, he frowned a bit.
“ No I’m home when I usually am,” He said in confusion and Charlotte looked at the clock for a moment before nodding.
“ Right of course,” She said softly before she walked over to the table and Yami watched her, his confusion and curiosity growing more and more.
She was acting nervous, Yami didn’t even need to use his Ki to see that. She was doing all of her usual ‘nervous’ habits which worried Yami, maybe what Owen told her was bad news? But if so, then what was with all this fuss?
Yami walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist and held her close, hoping it would at least calm her nerves somewhat. He felt her relax in his arms and let out a quiet breath.
“ What’s going on Charlotte? Did Owen tell you bad news?” Yami asked softly after the two had stood there quietly for a few moments, Charlotte turned around in his arms and wrapped them around him before smiling and shaking her head.
“ No it’s nothing bad, it’s actually quite the opposite.” She said with a small laugh, she took a deep breath.
“ I was going to wait and tell you over dinner, but I might as well go ahead and get it out of the way now.” She muttered softly before looking up at her husband with warm but confident eyes.
“ I’m pregnant.”
Yami blinked a few times at her words, it was as though they hadn’t registered in his mind yet. He frowned for a second.
“ How…?” He asked, his voice soft yet still confused and Charlotte rolled her eyes.
“ What do you mean ‘how’? You should know by now how babies are made.” She told him, which snapped Yami out of his daze and he looked at her for a moment before he began to laugh.
“ Even I know how babies are made Prickly Princess, that wasn’t what I was saying ‘how’ about!” Yami said between laughter as Charlotte blushed at her own assumptions and at the use of her old nickname.
“ I was saying how didn’t I notice it.” Yami said softly as his laughter slowly died. “ I mean, I should have realized it with my Ki or by your usual habits changing. But instead I just ignored them and put them off…but I should have noticed.” He continued as he pulled her into his arms and held her tightly.
“ You aren’t the only one who missed the signs, you know,” Charlotte said softly as she hugged him tightly back. “ I should have put it all together myself but I didn’t. We both ignored the most obvious answer.” She added and Yami suddenly leaned down and gave her a gentle but passionate kiss.
Charlotte’s hands moved from around his back and came up to wrap around his neck to pull him closer. Just by this kiss alone could she tell all of his emotions; he was happy, excited, maybe a little fearful and anxious. But overall he was happy at the idea of becoming a father, and Charlotte couldn’t help but giggle as his excitement was contagious.
The couple broke apart and Charlotte pointed to all the food Charmy had made for them. They sat down to eat and as they did they began to laugh and talk excitedly about their new future together.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you all have a lovely day~!

His Favorite is Blue
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A Short-Short Story
In one of their night gatherings, the Black Bulls were playing spin the bottle when Asta had asked his captain a question...
"Yami danchou, how about you? What's your favorite thing in this world?"
"Huh? What's with that question kid?" Yami asked his member with a confused and bored look.
"We are playing spin the bottle..." Asta answered when he was interrupted.
"And Asta doesn't know how to ask a 'good' question!" Finral commented, rolling his eyes.
"I don't wanna play your stupid games."
"Oh come on, danchou! It's just a simple question! You can answer US! The Black Bulls are your favorite." Vanessa drunkly said.
While that was true, Yami had an answer popped up to his head after hearing that question of Asta.
He thought of blue... maybe because of alcohol, he willingly answered,
"Well, there's the ocean because I'm a fisherman and there's another one, let's see... ah yes! Sky... the sky is my favorite too."
"Ahh! Sooo, you love nature, danchou!" Asta said loudly.
He took another sip of his beer and added,
"Nah... I just like them 'cause they're blue." Yami was smiling and inhaled a smoke from his cigarette. "It reminds me of someone."
'Damn those blue eyes of hers.' He thought while watching his bunch of kids... err, his members.
Thank you for reading! (^_^)v
It's my first time to use airbrush and overlays in my drawing. Need more practice.

Can I request 1, 7, 8, 15 and 20 for Charlotte Roselei for your ask game?
CHARRRRRR
1. Why do you like or dislike this character?
Okay, so, I like her... concept? As in, she's supposed to be The Strong Independent Woman who's making it in a man's world. And she is! But.. I think that her character is watered down by the excessive emphasis on her crush on Yami. As in, I wouldn't mind it being in her internal dialogue! I wouldn't mind her having those moments of "iiiiikkkkkk *doki doki*" I really wouldn't, but the amount of screentime those moments get in comparison make it seem like it's most of her personality.
I think that... when we first saw her in canon, during the battle against Licht where she was teleported to, to kinda save Yami's ass, she was very dignified. She was calm and collected, but had that little voice in the back of her head saying "calm down Charlotte, can't let your emotions for him to get the better of you" and I think that was the closest canon has come to portraying the Canon Intended Charlotte. And from there on, it kinda went down hill?
And while I think that there is an important character development point in her confessing to her girls that she does actually fancy Yami, and it's okay to have these feelings for another person, because they're perfectly human, again, these seem to portray majority of her personality.
Charlotte is the rose that was intended to be red, but was cursed to be something else, a rare beauty that was more fragile (as canonically her blue roses are less powerful than her *real* red roses) than she was created to be, but who chose to take the thorns of the blue rose and create herself anew.
With her, too, I think that the fandom does a more... accurate (sorry Tabs) portrayal of her than canon. Or of the intended her anyways.
7. What’s something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
Make her into more of the Independently Owned And Governed type of a strong woman that she is. I honestly like the fandom versions of her more than the canon portrayal of her. I'm circling back to the answer above (in #1 of course).
8. What’s something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?
Hmm... Hmm... Hmm...
I don't think I'm well versed enough in Charlotte to say if there's something... I'd downright despise the fandom doing? I don't think I have seen the fans make her into something that I would really hate. Maybe the emphasis on hating men? If it's taken to the extreme? I get that there are people out there who feel that way (about men), but I think that Charlotte's "...men" is an over-emphasis of how she's so fed up with being downplayed simply because she is a woman. It's frustration. And I get that too, at times, and perhaps it's worse in where she has lived, which is why she feels the need to quite visibly roll her eyes and utter: "men..."
But I don't think I have seen the fans doing something with her that I'd despise.
15. What’s your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn’t matter if it’s canon or not.)
I'm boring, and a YamiChar shipper myself. As in, I know I don't make a lot of content for them, but this is one of the ships that I'm behind of. I think that there is great potential for mutual character growth in there, despite the before mentioned problems with placing emphasis on Char's crush-panicking. The fandom has done them justice with fanfic.
20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn’t matter?
Okay, y'know what, I sat on this for a while, while sipping wine and staring at the ceiling, but Imma throw a bit of a curve ball:
Sister Lily
Sister Lily became a nun, because she witnessed to injustice and imbalance that exists in the society, and chose to become a nun in an effort to fight the oppression of the weak by doing good. And as she found the system to still be in place within the convent, she migrated even further out into the boonies.
Sister Lily is battling the hierarchy and the system by trying to step away from it and instead doing something concrete good.
Charlotte is battling the hierarchy and the system from within, by trying to claw her way to the top.
Their approaches are very different, but I think that they'd get well along (actually, I think that Charlotte might get well along with Sister Theresa too; may the BC gods bless Sister Theresa, the "hag that will outlive you all" XD ). Sister Lily might be... softer than Charlotte, but I think they both have one thing to unite them: the wish for a change.
And they're both doing something about it. It's one thing to wish for a change, but they're both *doing* something about it. So, I think that they have that balance of being similar, while having something different, that could make them the bestest of friends

Hey😁 Can i get a fanfic of where charlotte and yami accidentally reveal their together and the captains reaction to it :) I really love your writing btw♡♡♡♡
Hello, anon. Thank you, and of course you may. Sorry for taking so much time, by the way.
"You know we can't-"
This again? He kissed her neck. "What's the issue, prickly? It's not like it's their relationship, so it's none of their business." As she was about to protest yet again, he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her supple form against his own, unable to fend off a grin. "Besides, I'm pretty sure they won't find us up here," he lowered his voice, growing impatient.
As his lips met hers, he heard her whine against his mouth. Her voice and her body made it rather difficult to restrain himself... and besides, there was a thrill to be had in trying not to get caught in public.
"Yami..." she murmured against him as he pulled away briefly to regard her blue gaze, clouded by lust. For someone who supposedly hated men, she seemed to know exactly how to look at a man in order to drive him wild.
"Trust me, on this one, Charlotte." He was fairly confident that her name would do the trick, she seemed to grow extra eager whenever he used it, so he kissed her again.
Soon enough they were tripping against each other, kissing each other, groping each other, with the concern about being found out becoming little more than an afterthought.
It was then that the door opened.
"Sukehiro- Roselei...?" Fuegoleon's voice boomed, startling both of them, as they rushed to untangle themselves from each other, fixing their hair and clothes - well, with Yami there wasn't so much to fix, really - before abruptly turning to face the Crimson Lion King captain, acting as though nothing was happening between them. No, they absolutely did not just snog the living daylights out of each other in the Magic Knight Head Quarter's equivalent of an attic. No, they weren't flirting with each other daily behind anyone's back. And they absolutely weren't dating.
Nozel regarded them with some seeming level of disgust before clearing his throat and then, in a deadpan voice, exclaim: "of all the places to act like animals in, must it have been the Magic Knight Headquarters, Sukehiro?"
Yami blinked.
The other captains - including Dorothy, Mereoleona and William - seemed almost entirely unfazed for the most part, cheerful even. Not at all surprised.
Only the mercury bird on Nozel's shoulder from the royal's last mission at least had the sense to crow out "debauchery! Debauchery!"
"Seriously, that's what shocks you?"
At this, William cheekily exclaimed: "why, I had no idea the two of you had finally gotten together, Yami," feigning shock about as subtly as Nozel had feigned disgust. In the masked man's case, though, it was entirely on purpose. He didn't need his ki reading abilities to know that, just looking at the way Vangeance grinned from ear to ear was enough of a hint.
"We had no idea," Fuegoleon concurred, thinking William was attempting to sound sincere and not sarcastic, and, being a terrible liar (not to mention completely incapable of understanding sarcasm), he gave himself away by being unable to hold eye contact with Yami.
Dorothy on the other hand skipped the surprised act altogether. "So, when are you getting married, Yami-kun, Charlotte-kun?" Her eyes held a mischievous twinkle.
Mereoleona had her arms crossed over her shoulders. "About time the two of you got each other laid, that unresolved sexual tension between the two of you was starting to get about as ridiculous as Nozel's braid."
Vangeance cleared his throat. "Well, technically, we really don't know if you, um- so, if you did... er... congratulations?"
Mereoleona raised her eyebrow at that. "I thought it was pretty obvious that they had done it. Did you miss the part where where Sukehiro came to a meeting supposedly having either rediscovered a passion for music, or for a little something else?" Oh, yeah... that meeting. He hadn't even realised he'd been humming a sailor's tune until he was half-way across the room but had assumed no one thought anything of it. "And did you forget all those hypothetical questions from Charlotte?"
It was curious to Yami as to what kind of hypothetical questions she might have asked Vangeance of all people, given how both plant mages had grown many a shades deeper red.
"Well, I do recall her asking about certain things "for a friend", yes... but given how long it's taken them to so much as stop acting like they hate each other..."
Even Yami couldn't help but feel his cheeks heat up. Had the two of them seriously been the two most oblivious people in Clover, or was there anyone at all who hadn't noticed their attraction for each other apart from the two of them?
"Ke ke ke, you're denser than I thought, Sukehiro."
Well, there was his answer.
"Do I get to be best man?" Rill asked excitedly.
He supposed, if the was a plus side to all of this, it was that that his prickly princess looked hotter than usual sporting that flustered blush of hers. (It would probably be inadvisable to kiss her in front of everyone though, especially since she was looking at him with an "I told you so" glare that put Nozel's "I'll have you publicly executed" stares to shame.)
"But really, now, do take your debauchery elsewhere, Sukehiro. This is a professional setting..."
"Debauchery, debauchery!"
