My dear readers, welcome to the “𝐓𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲-𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬” event. Since on August 29th I’m turning twenty-four, I have decided to host this small event.
• How does it work? Being a busy person and having my requests closed, I have already set up everything. I therefore hope you will just enjoy the works that are going to be part of this collection and let me know if you are satisfied with them.
• What does the event consist in? This post will work as a real Masterlist for the twenty-four one-shots I’m going to post. I’ve chosen twenty-four male characters from Demon Slayer and Bleach, pairing each and every one of them with a line of a song I have chosen.

How TG characters would react to being in Saw traps:
(These aren't specific traps because I haven't seen enough movies to torture my pookies properly yet 😾😾😾)
Kaneki
Pre-Jason: Cry, shake, throw up. Would probably die from the stress and overthinking before that cunty Billy Puppet could even Think about rolling in
Post-Jason: Would not hesitate to break a bone but would also act in rash ways. Would probably manage to escape the trap but wouldn't seek for help after because he's emo brocken core 🥀🥀🥀
Haise
Approaches it from a logical perspective. 100% escapes but tries not to injure himself (or others if it is a joined trap)
Touka
Would probably curse out whoever put her in the room the entire time while solving the puzzle / getting through it. Like. "YOU SICK SON OF A BITCH, I'M GOING TO GET YOU" *solves the puzzle* She 100% beats the fuck out of the Billy puppet when he rolls in once she's done like she is Not gonna have it
Hide
We all know our boy is SO smart, but he doesn't have the healing properties of a ghoul so he would have to be extra careful with it
Nishiki
Gets his swearing out BEFORE he starts solving the puzzle which ultimately costs him time so he dies. He's definitely smart enough and rash enough to do ANYTHING to get out but I feel like his attitude would get in his way
Uta
Tries but ultimately decides he doesn't give a fuck so he just opts to die
Renji
Definitely tries but realizes he also doesn't give a fuck. His only motivation would be to keep protecting those he cares about but if the creator of the room told him they were dead then he'd probably just die too
Ayato
Like Touka, he gets mad except he sits there for a while stewing in his anger because he hates when people boss him around and he'll prove he's the best by escaping with only a little time left
Eto
Solves it SO quickly and kicks serious ass once she's out
Rize
Solves it and then serves absolute cunt while hunting down the guy
Jason
Considering how he reacted when Kaneki turned the tables on him, he'd probably lay down and cry
Tsukiyama
Acts like he knows what he's doing and then dies because he does not in fact know what he's doing

Compliments the person who made the room while solving the ever loving fuck out of it

I honestly have NO clue what he would do. He seems like the type of guy to say, "You're under arrest!" in a situation where he does not have the ability to arrest someone 😭 He's definitely smart enough to solve it, he would just probably be saying, "Do you know who I am??" the entire time 💀

Solves it and then complains that it ruined her schedule for the day 💀
Saiko
Doesn't give a fuck probably. That or she would cry. Or both. She'd cry and then not give a fuck.
Ginshi
I'm sorry but that man is NOT surviving. He's smart but he definitely is a different type of intelligent to what Saw traps might require. I think in a physical one, yes he would. In one that required more attention to detail and shit...maybe not.
Mutsuki
Cries and then beats the ever loving fuck out of the trap and kills the person that did it
Urie
Solves it and just goes about it silently, unphased, and logically. He can't let his kidnapper know he's scared
This is for shits and giggles, don't take it too serious and I'd love to see other characters you guys think about in Saw traps. All the characters are def smart enough to solve them but it's funny to imagine them in there

When I was reading Bleach for the second time, I was surprised by how many characters in the Soul Society weren't actually souls from the living world, but were, like, born there and how this has been going on long enough to essentially form an aristocracy.
I had a specifically worded question about it for you, but it's completely gone now.
How's Renji and his snake-baboon? Personally, I think the swords and by extension Bankai should be able to talk smack more often and was disappointed that animal themed ones didn't become more of a thing.
To answer how I'm handling the "who is born in soul society and who just re-incarnates there?"
If you're a soul that died in particularly charged circumstances, Died particularly young, needed to be escorted by a Shinigami, had to be de-hollowfied or otherwise have wildly unfinished business from your previous life, you're more likely to be reincarnated with at least some of your previous identity. 50/50 chance you'll remember ANYTHING about your previous life though.
If you're a soul that lived a long or particularly fulfilling life, managed to get to the afterlife yourself, were a baby that dies before you were a year old and didn't have a fully developed memory, or are generally chill about the whole "being dead" thing, you're more likely to be reincarnated as a baby birthed in the afterlife, with no recollection of your previous life.
WHO is reborn, who is reincarnated, who goes to soul society and who goes to Hell is not actually Known by Soul Society- the sorting of the Dead is actually the provenance of the Demons of Hell, who have a running metric on every soul in the living and spirit worlds so the second you're dead they've got you sorted.
The Shinigami HAVE been able to make educated guesses about at least some of the metric by keeping extensive notes on the souls they help move on- Who linger and why, who turns into a hollow and why, who goes to Hell and Why etc. but the exact metrics and mechanisms used to assign people's place in the afterlife is a mystery- which is why Soul Society doesn't runite people in the afterlife and has such trouble keeping track of people in the Rukongai- they literally have no input or knowledge of who goes where, when or why.
As for Zabimaru: They (plural- the monkey and the snake) are doing well, though they were more than a little alarmed when Renji was suddenly transferred to the 11th division* after his time in the 5th and found out that, unlike literally every other person** they've met, Zaraki can just passively see and interact with Zanpaktou Spirits***.
*There is extensive chicanery afoot regarding Renji's career in the Gotei-13
**Note: a broader category than just "Human"
***He can't really harm them in spirit form, but he can talk with and generally annoy the shit out of them. This is Extremely Weird, but he's an Extremly Weird case.
Hilariously, Zabimaru gets along GREAT with Senbonsakura, it's just kind of a shame their humans are so bad at playing together.

one of the common bleach discussions is whether or not ichigo has a "goal" (where "goal" = a concrete, tangible end like a position or a title or even strength) and i guess you could make the argument that being strong enough to protect as many people as he can is a goal, but a hero's journey doesn't always have to have a tangible marker of the hero's success. to me, even if his outward goal is cookie-cutter "become strong enough to protect my friends," the narrative goal reads as coming to terms with grief, making peace with your place in the life cycle, and most importantly, making peace with death.
cfyow aside, it's been obvious as early as SS arc that the five noble families are corrupt. in a traditional sense, i suppose they are – they're wealthy, they uphold inequality, they have a huge say in what laws get made. but the way i read this series is always in connection to death and how characters relate to it. in star and a stray dog, renji and rukia's primary objective is to escape rukongai and live a better life in seireitei. however, you have to wonder: why is rukongai terrible in the first place? it's the afterlife, a place that is generally considered to be a place of peace and rest after you die in most cultures and religions. why, then, do people in rukongai suffer from mortal problems like poverty?
perhaps it's because rukongai is not meant to be sustainable for long-term living. it's meant to be a place where souls die, like a video game where every rule is made to set you up for failure (ie death). in a series like bleach, death in soul society means rebirth into the living world, which means, in a kind-of messed up way, that the souls that live there are supposed to die to feed the cycle of life. unless you have a tiny amount of spiritual power (for whatever reason), you are not a part of the chosen few that gets to stay in soul society. to the poor, civilian soul, soul society is just a pitstop. you could argue that we need shinigami because there needs to be some souls that will help usher/purify other souls and complete this transition. alright, cool.
however. if duty is the only reason some souls (shinigami) are allowed to live while others are "forced" back into the living world through rebirth, then what does this mean for the nobles? the nobles rarely die. rather, they reproduce. they have children. byakuya, ichika, yoruichi, yoruichi's brother, yamamoto's son, the list goes on...these are not people who died and entered soul society. they were born in the afterlife. to me, this paradox represents a fundamental fear that underscores the entire series: the fear of death. the nobles are greedy and constantly struggling to maintain power because they have a debilitating fear of the unknown, of death, of that gaping abyss that is designed to be unknowable until you enter it.
a long time ago, someone once said the living world and soul society are two sides of the same coin. when you enter soul society, you discard things like your name, your bonds in the living world, your personal possessions. you're like a shadow. however, even if a shadow is devoid of personal characteristics like your nose or your eyes, it retains your shape. ie, souls retain what is innate to human nature even when we lose everything else – a fear of death and a struggle for survival. the regular souls who embrace this fear will know that what's waiting for them on the other end is just. life. life in all its complexity and mundanity, in its pleasure and pain. but something about that transcience probably terrifies the nobles, who found a way to cheat death and instead do something that shouldn't be possible (create life). to me, this is possible because of the spiritual power and wealth they own. the quality of life is indeed better in seireitei than in rukongai, so people end up living in the afterlife....forever. i've joked to my friends before that if rebirth exists, i would never want it because i would never want to suffer again, never want to face the odds of an excruciating life again, never want to start over...all over again. funnily enough, i think this fear of suffering is what makes nobles prolong their lives while they send others to their "deaths," too. [however, death is not a bad thing and life, however temporary it is, is meaningful because of the bonds you make and the heart that grows between you and the people you love - thesis statement of the series]
how does this relate to ichigo and his "goal" as a protagonist? well. cut the convolutedness aside and his story has always been a story of grief and a story of identity. to ichigo, being unable to cope with masaki's death is what makes him see ghosts in the first place (also bc of the spiritual power he inherited ofc; we'll come to that). he resists death, becomes obsessed with it, becomes it. but in a way, being a shinigami teaches him about the transition process, the inevitability of life as a process. being able to open his eyes to the world he lives in, embrace all the parts of his soul, embrace his bonds, love openly even if it means his bonds might be temporary (they might die any time). ultimately he's an unnatural child, just like a noble. he's also a natural child, just like any civilian in the living world. in the end though, he chooses not to cheat death, not to fear it. he chooses the life of a civilian. he lives life knowing full well what it encompasses – the joy, the pain, the suffering. he has seen both sides of the coin and knows it's only natural. he comes to terms with his place in the cycle of life. he knows that his friends, his sisters, orihime, kazui, his job...none of these things are going to carry on over with him when he dies. but what he will carry is the heart he made through his bonds, which is metaphysical and exists beyond death, innately human and therefore inextinguishable in any plane of existence. what more could a guy ask for from his hero's journey?

Now that you've reached the end of the TYBW, is there anything (themes, story, characters) from the arc you think could/should have gone differently or would have liked to see expanded upon? I always enjoy reading up on your thoughts, thanks for the ride, its been a blast! Looking forward to your closing thoughts on the last chapter :)
Well yeah, the entire final fight with Yhwach. It's pretty clearly intended to wrap up several things:
Ichigo's character arc
Ichigo's relationship with Orihime (and therefore Orihime's larger character arc.)
Renji's character arc (and therefore by definition his relationship with Rukia)
Uryu's character arc
Aizen's character arc, for some reason
Jugram as an antagonist
Yhwach as an antagonist
The Thousand-Year Blood War, as a whole
The story of Bleach
But we basically only hit the plot points. There's a sort-of build during the Yhwach vs. Ichigo and Orihime fight, contemporaneous with the Uryu vs. Jugram fight, so we get a little of (2), (4), and (6), but only the briefest glimpse of (3), and (5) only really works because we don't care about Aizen so a surface-level treatment is fine.
But it completely fails to deal with the two big thematic things, which are (1) and (7), and therefore (8). These arcs in Bleach, as they are in all comic books aimed at young adults, are meant to demonstrate and even serve as something of a metaphor for personal growth. And we don't get that at all. Yhwach dies basically because he's enough of a piece of work that even Aizen wants him dead, and then Ichigo just chops him. Fin.
And that sort of leaves us flailing with (9) as well! I'm sure he'll try and tie it up in the final chapter, but it's going to feel a little flat considering how the big fight with the ultimate big boss ended. Anyhow this all should have been expanded on, and absolutely would have been if the author had been capable of it. I'm excited to see what he does with more time.

On a similar vein as the other post, here is a list of top ten Bleach characters who fuck the LEAST, in descending other of how little they fuck. Again, this is based on vibes alone and not canon.
10) Renji
It's not that he hasn't got game!!! Renji is pretty hot, all said and done. It's just that he would probably collapse into a quivering wreck or straight up run the fuck away if anyone so much as looked at him romantically. Man could not muster up the nerve to ask someone out to save his life. This is a man who is forever doomed to want and be wanted without anything ever actually happening.
9) Urahara
This man is a human wreck far too traumatised to allow any genuine human connection, on top of being generally less organised than your average five year old. He'd respond to any interest by making a bad joke and then backflippng away. He'd probably break down into tears if exposed to any actual intimacy.
8) Byakuya
Wet blanket ass mf with the personality of a wet paper towel. Whatever charm he had died with his wife. If you asked him what his hobbies are he'd probably say some shit like "meditation" or "taxes". Anyone who initially thirsts after him in Seireitei immediately withers up inside after a single conversation. Itachi Uchiha ass mf.
7) Captain Unohana
Iirc she's a 1000 years older than everyone else except kyoraku, ukitake and genryuusai. And besides I don't think she'd be very interested in that sort of thing. Again though, this is just vibes.
6) Kenpachi Zaraki
This is the face of a man who does not give a single fuck about sex. Gokupilled Zorocore king. All he cares about is whether you can put up an entertaining fight. I very much doubt he'd give the time of day to anything else.
5) Ulquiorra
Hi my name is Ul'quiorra Quarto Espada Arrancar Cipher and I have powerful ebony black reiatsu (that’s how I got my rank) with purple streaks and green tattoos that reach my chin and icy green eyes like limpid tears and a lot of people tell me I look like L Death Note (AN: if u don’t know who he is get da hell out of here!). I’m not related to Aizen-Sama but I wish I was because he’s a major fucking hottie. I’m an arrancar but my hollow is smooth and round. I have pale white skin.
4) Kurotsuchi Mayuri
This man is a sex offender. He's on every registry that soul society has. Anyone with ANY self preservation instinct keeps far far far away from him. When he dies, I sincerely hope Nemu is the one who gets to kill him.
3) Chad-kun
Gay but more repressed than Sasuke Uchiha. This will never change.
2) Soi Fon
Girl, she doesn't like you back. She is never going to like you back. Get over it. Move on. Find something to do with your life.
