Reasons to play Palia:

Cozy, gentle farming/village sim a bit like a combination of Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing, but online.

Most of the villagers are romanceable if you're into that. Either way they all have backstories that you learn by befriending them.

One time I went fishing and pulled up a charcuterie.

There's robots. One of them is romanceable because the fanbase demanded it in alpha.

You can't pet the dog but you can talk to him:

The fishing and bug catching systems are unique and fun.

When people find a rare/special resource like a Flow tree or palium ore, they'll call over zone chat to tell people where it is because everyone that hits a resource node will get the same reward no matter how many people are on it.

Crabs count as bugs so you can catch them!

Cat people come from the moon, allegedly. Which moon? Probably the one that isn't on fire.

Concerned about too many people stripping the resources? The game is instanced and each instance only has a handful of players at a time. Even if they're all mining, or chopping trees, the nodes respawn fast enough to compensate. Plants and other things on the ground are not shared, so grab all those you want.

You can hunt for meat and leather, and there are a variety of animals that require different methods. Some of them teleport or clone themselves.

Speaking of hunting, you do so with a bow, and there's no blood or dead body. Bagged animals literally disappear and leave behind a bag which you loot.

You can climb and glide kind of like Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom.

The housing system is pretty robust, almost like WildStar. You start with a tent and then get a house which you can add rooms to. You can find, buy, and craft furnishing and sometimes villagers will gift them to you.

There's no HP and no penalty for falling, so feel free to yeet yourself from high places in order to explore!

Moon 3 Event!

Foxpaw and Ficklepaw have proven their skill and have been rightfully named warriors!

Foxpaw, trained by Fenneltooth.... Has barely changed. She's careful and imaginative as ever. However, having trained with Fenneltooth has made her more open to expressing herself, and has gotten herself into a handful of quarrels over her strong opinions.

Wildstar took note of Foxpaw's habit of.... Plotting.... Various pranks against her clanmates (mostly Silverfur, poor guy). For Foxpaw's ability to think ahead of others, she has been named Foxshade.

Ficklepaw has also barely changed. Having been a very loving cat, his training under Wildstar has made him more compassionate towards others. He's developed a habit of using actions over words. Ends well for his clanmates, not so well on border patrols.

Wildstar took notice of his thoughtfulness and his consideration for his clanmates. During his ceremony, she honored him for his understanding, naming him Ficklepond.

Which characters from Star Blazers would have [tumblr] accounts, if any?

Derek Wildstar: maybe? If he did he'd likely be a sparse lurker, only really following his friend/crewmate's blogs & almost exclusively hoarding posts in his likes. His biggest footprint would probably be asks, most of which would be sent Venture & Nova

Mark Venture: He feels like your standard tumblr user. May or may not have had a couple posts about the shenanigans he and Wildstar got up to while they were cadets get pretty popular. Said blog is not connected to his irl identity, so it's a little jarring for his followers to see him randomly go from reblogging memes to posting that a highly respected member of the space force routinely drinks soup out of a coffee thermos

Nova Forrester: if she did have one, she'd be an occasional poster, likely running a medical tip/doctorial blog with no personal footprint (i.e: what to do if you have a heart attack or stuff your nursing staff wants you to tell them before surgery) I could also see her possibly having a relatively low-key personal blog.

Sandor: yes. Considered a local tumblr cryptid, their blog is known by most for their A grade quips and comebacks, and, to a small subset of people, their disconcerting knowledge about what is definitely classified research, such as warp engines. They're mutuals with Nova's medical blog, often adding on to her posts with suspiciously specific anecdotes. There is no identifying info, though plenty of theories as to who they could be

Eager: yeah. Has a personal blog, often vaugeposting about their coworkers (read: crewmates) being dumbasses. Their recounting of the events of ep. 14's fight breatched containment and the phrase "didn't even get my waffle" is now common tumblr dialect.

Conroy: sadly not.

Homer: probably not, but if they did they'd only use it for a handful of very specific sub-communities

Dash: I honestly can't make heads or tails, but I'm leaning towards no

Doctor Sane: as unlikely as it would be, I find the concept of them running a blog for their cat, Mimi, adorable, so I'll say yes

Orion: Maybe. If Nova has one, he probably has one. His blog would likely run the same as her's, except swap medical advice for mechanical. Occasionally posts about how awesome his grandkids/family are

Captain Avatar: as funny as it would be to say yes, the concept of Wildstar trying to explain tumblr to him is even funnier, so I'm gonna say no.

Queen starsha: no, she's an alien form a separate galaxy cluster, plus tumblr doesn't really seem like her thing

ive been making so many clans with clangen already but i want to actually do the challenge with one from scratch! this is rawrclan at the very beginning of the game, i haven't run the generator yet.

wildstar is the leader, she's described as vengeful and sensitive. her deputy is whiskerleap, and he is bloodthirsty, ambitious, and cunning. the medicine cat is pranceivy, and she is described as strange and smart.

bumbledust is a prickly and strict senior warrior. he's also known to be a good speaker and helps rally the warriors at important moments. riverfreckle is a stickler for the warrior code, and is sometimes a bit cold. she is a great mentor and teacher though.

finfur is a cautious and quiet warrior. his apprentice, dancingpaw, is playful and curious, and can be a bit sardonic. the other apprentice, wolfpaw, is a bit of a brat.

brackenkit and gorsekit are the two youngest clan members, being cared for by bumbledust for the most part. brackenkit is quiet and polite, while gorsekit is bold and daring.

🎮 — favorite video game(s)?

I fucking LOVE the Jak and Daxter games. Exept that one which shall not be named because it is not Jak and Daxter. I first played the third, then the second, then Jak X, and THEN the first one rofl

I also absolutely adore WildStar (press F to pay respects), it had such a stunning combination of whimsy, fantasy, and grime, with a sprinkle of vibrant horror. And I have yet to find a game with as fun of a player housing system or building things in general, people m ade some of the most phenomenal shit like, entire cities. It was my favourite part of the game-- kinda what I spent most of my time there on wHOOPS.

I'm also a big fan of World of Warcraft but I've not played it in over a year now. Been missing it something awful lately and it's caused some internal arguments.

🐶 — any pets?

At my apartment my roommates have two cats, Phil and Steve; phil is a sweet lil brown tabby who's on the skittish side, and steve is a most clever and handsome orange + white tabby.

My cats Nicodemus and Delilah (Nicky being a Very large and lovey dovey black cat and Delilah a very conniving but precious little black n white kitty), and my dog Elorah who is a husky-catahoula mix, all live with my mother and stepdad, and they also have an albino corn snake that everyone but me calls Salazar. I call it Cupcake. Have since day one. Nobody was on board.

I'm planning in the near future for a creepy crawly pet. The original plan was for a rose haired tarantula but the terrarium I managed to get isn't ideal for a ground spider. So I'm going to be on the look out soon for some other litol creachers. Once I do have a spider though, I'm naming it Puppy.

🎧 — do you write while listening to music/podcasts/videos/etc, or do you need total silence?

Ooooooo I need my AMBIENCE. If I'm rping or otherwise writing stories, planning games/worldbuilding, drawing... I'm probably listening to whatever song particular I feel at the time has the right vibes. Possibly on repeat, or a few I cycle through over and over. Dustin's playlist is on any time I'm writing him. I usually also need just, in general, some kind of background noise of both audio and visual, so the TV is on often too. Silence is how we find the heavy metal mariachi bands.

01 : I worked as an actor in haunted houses starting from age 16 til roughly age 21, and did amateur theatre prior, during, and afterwards. I'd love to get back into theater, but I reeaaally want to voice act. If I don't get to either voice act, OR play Judge Frollo in a stage adaptation of the Hunchback of Notre Dame, I WILL finish the job on that fuckin church 🔥🪓👀

02 : I am an amateur scientist. My favourite fields to study are entomology, genetics, microbiology/pathology, and psychology. I want to know everything. Some things I study because they're special interests, some I study to better understand my own self and conditions, and be able to help others with similar struggles as me. All I want in life is to learn, help others, and make good food at a warm hearth, with all the comforts of home. And a lotta moths.

03 : My synesthesia causes vivid imagery and motion from music very frequently, it's a HUGE boost in my motivation and muse. I'd like to some day do animated depictions of what I see when listening to certain songs. This is also why I do better creatively while listening to music. It also makes me hate a lot of other noises. 🙃 and the number 5 needs to stop laughing already.

The character creation features a basis in D&D system stats, and Roleplay system features both ooc-chat style messaging and originally designed dice rolling mechanics. While he’s suffered his own loses, including a dear love of his in Sunsplash, he has strived forward as a proud warrior of his Clan. Tigerbelly is composed and dedicated, and ready to serve as deputy, though the position did come as an honor and shock to him.  Redstorm, Tigerbelly’s father, was formerly a senior warrior of RiverClan. Having lived through both the floods, and even the beginning of the raids, Redstorm has known great loses during his lifetime. Cloudstar came as a blessing to the clan in Redstorm’s eyes, and the gruff warrior settled into peace, though not without a bit of struggle. Fatigued by his duties, and inspired by his own newly found faith, Redstorm stepped in to the mantle of Medicine Cat, much to the shock of his clanmates. Tigerbelly Credit: Exonovus

Stalk Clan:

Main home is an abandoned cow barn. These are former barn cats whose population grew out of control that were left to fend for themselves when the old owners died and the property was left to ruins.

Their main diet consists of crows that are tempted by the abandoned corn stalks and mice/rats that feast on abandoned animal feed.

Not truly considered a clan or fully respected by true clan cats, but can hold their own with each new generation.

Mostly burly orange tabbies and cream colored cats.

Leader - Dark Mark (Darkstar to true clan cats) A mostly cream tabby cat with white on her belly, chin and paws. She has small black striping down her right arm, making her technically a calico.

Tunnel Clan:

Main home is the sewage systems and rain run off tunnels under the nearby town. These mostly nocturnal cats consist of generations of skittish ferals with no known origin.

They are unfriendly and flighty, quick to hide. They utilize the rain culverts and drains to protect themselves from humans and strange cats.

They are wise to the ways of cars and distrust human pet food. They are the most capable of the rejected clans, and might even be considered true warriors if they did not live in man made structures.

They eat roadkill, toads, garbage and any other small animal.

Mostly calico, torties and black and white cats. They are small with greasy fur.

Leader - Wildeyes (Wildstar to true clan cats) full white female with calico marks on her head and shoulders only

Park “Clan”:

Main home is the houses of the humans that own them. Half these cats wear collars.

They are the least worthy to consider themselves a clan and are just roleplaying kitty pets who are bored in the day time.

They kill neighborhood squirrels and birds and hardly eat any. They are hostile towards dirty cats and pick unfair fights that end in them taking to the safety of the cat door.

They are usually broad and well fed. All kinds of colors, a lot of tabbies.
