apologies for the bad quality i got these from a youtube video but like literally why is she so PLAIN. would it have killed them to give her some narrower eyes?? some starker color separation?? ANY markings at all?????

Not my usual post type but imagine a Kung Fu Panda AU but it's one of those human high school AUs

The Furious 5 are a group of friends who all attend the same martial arts club outside of school (run by Shifu ofc) and Po is a new member of the group after his dads encouraged him to do it so he could improve his confidence.

When in school however; Crane and Viper are in the same dance club, Tigress and Mantis are part of the student Council meanwhile Monkey isn't in an after school club but often stays behind after school on Fridays to help the cleaning staff out

Kai, Tai Lung and Shen are a group of friends, your average bully group if anything. Though each one is different in their method of bullying and why they act like that

Kai being the oldest and skilled in a few different forms of martial arts likes picking on others who are more weaker than him to boost his own ego due to being scared of being seen as too soft by his two friends

Tai Lung used to be bullied before he transferred to Jade High (what I'm calling the high school in this nonsensical au) and to avoid it happening again he became a bully, eventually teaming up with Kai. Much to his family's disapproval and disappointment (his family being Shifu and Tigress)

Lastly is Shen, the rich (nepo-baby) of the group, he is vain and likes making rude comments about people's looks. But he will also be physical whrn bullying someone. Think like Regina George from mean girls mixed with Hoshiko Mizudori from Yandere Simulator (I hate that game but she's the only one I can think of that fits Shen for this). Along with this he often gets away with it more due to his parents funding the school during big events.

As for the Chameleon from Kung Fu Panda 4 she's like the stereotypical pick-me who thinks she's part of Kai's squad just bc she's also a bully, though none of those 3 dudes even know she exists

If I actually decide to make more for this I'll probably try making designs for each character and/or short stories on Tumblr based off this au.

After pondering on it for several days, I have officially decided I did not like the direction of KFP4 and have banished it from my brain. It is no longer canon. KFP4? What's that? Don't know what you're talking about.

#spoilers ahead #it wasn't all bad #I really truly loved the scenes with Li and Mr Ping they were wonderfully hilarious #and the music was great #BUT #I just did not like the direction they took Po's story at all.#and I'm kinda furious they subtly undermined Shifu's character #by making him “fine”/“not fine” with Oogway picking Po as his successor instead of him.#it was only a thing for 2 seconds for the sake of humor but it completely undermines his inner peace character development #first off why can there only be one successor #and second off why can't Po take primarily the fighting side and Shifu take the spiritual side #It FITS HIM #don't know if most people would notice that shifu's character was undermined but because he's one of my favorites I sure did and it HURT #also um the furious five WHY didn't we have them be the main characters with Po instead of the fox chick no one cares about #literally their interactions with Po that's WHY WE'RE HERE DREAMWORKS #also it's become really obvious to me that the fox girl was literally written just so they could cast a specific voice actress in a big rol #nothing against that actress I love her in other stuff but that was a bad move Dreamworks #and another thing #the movie's message about change not always being bad is perfectly fine and good in theory #but such character change is only satisfying from a storytelling perspective if the audience actually WANTS the character to change!!!#I don't WANT Po to stop being the dragon warrior! I don't WANT him to pick a successor! That wasn't satisfying!! like whyyyyyyyyy #Plus he's like way too young?? to be worrying about this??? Oogway didn't worry about it until he was literally 900 years old #Shifu is what in his 60s? 80s? and he hasn't picked one #why would they make shifu worry about po doing that any time soon literally at all #so there dreamworks #I banish this movie #I banish it for one thousand years #kfp4 #kung fu panda 4 #po kung fu panda

Did they really..... do absolutely nothing with the fact that Jaune "had" to kill Penny?.....

I thought maybe they could pull something out at the end somehow; maybe have Penny be the one to help Ruby through her rough time as well as the tree lady

Though then again with all the Summer build up I'm not surprised

But I'm.... both flabbergasted and defeated that we went through this entire Volume without ever actually addressing Jaune killing Penny.

Back after Volume 8, so many people were like "So they HAVE to address this, right? Oh man how is Ruby gonna react to this??" And many were speculating and wondering

Apparently she won't, is the answer. We don't even know if Blake & Yang know either. They just never actually talk about or react if they do know

And I'm wondering.... why? Why did they tease about the Penny angst and then it amount to nothing in the end? Why did Ruby have to pass out while Weiss talked about the subject, and then never gets to talk about it afterwards? Why did she get to find the sword (that shouldn't even exist, mind you), give it up, then when it's thrown away she just leave it at that?

I know the answer is random angst and Jaune angst, but still.

Penny deserved so much better, and so did we. The audience deserved to be treated better and respected, but we got... this.

I wished they had picked between wanting to push the Summer stuff or the Penny stuff, since they clearly couldn't do both. And what we got of each was so... nothing

I feel as though, unlike Kung Fu Panda 4, Shrek 5 isn't gonna cut any major characters. Purely because it's extremely doubtful any of the actors will ask for that much money because none of them are fucking doing anything right now except Antonio Banderas sometimes

you know a part of me really, REALLY wants to rewrite most of the shit that happened in kung fu panda 4 because my god this is the first time i have felt mostly nothing throughout watching the film

like i had waited for this movie since its announcement back in 2022 and for what

not saying it's a terrible film, it's still fun to watch but man does it have a fuckton of missed potential

I think there's some shows/movies that if given the money and time should totally make a remake
