I didn’t know that 1994 was older millennial. When would you say older millennial ends?

Honestly dude? I really could not say.

I’m a semi-believer in the idea that most modern generational labels are just marketing labels. “Millenial” seems to be a very loose term referring to the band of society born before the Internet/social media became ubiquitous - which I guess includes me? A lot of us were born in the early to mid-90s or the very late 80s. We remember the dial-up sound and the advent of Myspace. School pop nostalgia probably includes Cascasda and Taio Cruz or My Chemical Romance. We probably remember carrying a CD player or an mp3 player before we got an iPod.

Now a lot of us seem to be in our mid-late 20s or early 30s, struggling with the concept that we have come to adulthood in a messed-up world, and that there are Young Folx who can be defined by their own “generational” labels (despite us by-and-large not being their parents) and consider us old and uncool. I have no idea how to tell where the cutoff is for “millenial;” just that the cutoff EXISTS somewhere, I have no idea where.

I’m assuming that this ask is about my tags on The Old Guard re: Kiki Layne and Nile Freeman. Kiki Layne was born in 1991, which makes her very close to my age. I “identify” as a millenial inasmuch as everyone who knows the label has called me one. Assuming that Nile is the same age as her actress, that would make her a millenial too...I guess.
