So Here’s the Thing
I know I should be writing prompts (or better yet, doing schoolwork) but this random TFL ficlet popped into my head and I just had to write it. So here you go.
Dean is driving.
He’s known to do that from time to time, when he needs to get somewhere, when he’s angry, when he needs to clear his head… and right now, he definitely needs to clear his head.
He couldn’t stay in that Bunker surrounded by those three men, he would die. He needed to escape, to get away, to be alone with his Baby. The only one he could rely on without fail every time.
There’s only one way to describe this: fuck.
So Dean drives.
Dean doesn’t return to the Bunker for several hours, but when he does, Cas is waiting for him eagerly at the door. He looks like he’s been worrying, he seems relieved by Dean’s return, but he also smiles at Dean in that soft way like Dean’s his favorite person on earth.
Dean fucking hates it.
He shoulders past him, his walls springing up because what? No he didn’t cry in his car, what are you talking about and he needs to be angry instead of sad and confused for at least thirty seconds. He doesn’t miss the near-devastation on Cas’s face as he completely ignores the friendly greeting.
Dean goes into his bedroom, bypassing kitchen and library where he knows Gabe and Sam will, respectively, be. He can’t face any of them right now.
So here’s the thing about Cas.
In some ways, he was Dean’s “Gay Awakening™”. He dropped into Dean’s life, blew out all the lights, let Dean fucking stab him and stood there, coolly staring at Dean, like he was surprised and impressed.
A fucking angel.
And then he was always around with his messy dark hair and his ocean-blue eyes and his trench coat and his sex voice. And Dean was… well, Dean was kind of fucked, to be honest. Because Cas was different, he was new and bright and enthusiastic and also… kind of… hot.
And yes. It took Dean literally a decade to admit that to himself. He’s an idiot. Isn’t that what Sam’s been telling him since he was twenty?
In essence, Cas is ruination.
Sam corners Dean around seven pm, demanding why he hasn’t eaten dinner yet and this is so not like you, dude, why are you sulking? Dean shoves him away.
Sam somehow manages to force his way into the room – curse the bitch and his broad shoulders – and forces Dean to sit on his bed, but he can’t force Dean to talk. Eventually he gives up and goes to bring Dean some food because goddammit, Dean, you know I worry about you and Dean picks at it and leaves it on his bedside table to throw out at midnight while Sam’s asleep.
Sam gives him that look that Dean hates, the look that’s part puppy-dog eyes and part bitchface number four hundred and sixty-two: Why Can’t You Take Care Of Yourself? That look that’s all worry and love that makes Dean feel things.
His least favorite activity.
Dean wants to punch him or scream at him or something but he can’t because Sammy is still his baby brother and he’s trying to help and Dean isn’t that big of an asshole. Usually.
Sam scrubs a hand down his face, sighing heavily, and walks out of the room.
Dean watches Sam leave and pretends he’s not crying.
So here’s the thing about Sam.
He was the first. Full stop. He was the first a lot of things for Dean. But mostly, he was the first thing Dean cared about enough to die for. And that’s scary. Dean has always managed to love Sam more than he hated himself, which is quite a feat. Dean’s never been comfortable with having things to love, because when he has things, that means he could lose them.
Dean wants Sam safe and happy above all else, but another, more selfish part of him also wants Sam near him, so that Dean can know that he’s safe and happy. Dean wants to be able to check up on him, to observe, and when Sam is close, Dean feels secure.
Dean feels.
Dean feels far too much when it comes to Sam. It’s really annoying, not to mention outright terrifying, to love a person that much.
In essence, Sam is terror.
Dean emerges from his room three days later, gaunt and pale, having barely slept and not eaten since the burger Sam thrust at him that evening. Gabriel purses his lips and starts making food for Dean.
Now, Dean knows Sam loves Gabriel. Every time Sam looks at the archangel he gets this glint in his eye like he had with Jess the one time Dean saw them together, like Gabriel means the world. Dean also knows that Sam loves Cas, because every time they bump into each other Sam laughs that happy laugh that means that he’s content and safe and Dean wants him safe. But especially, Dean knows that Cas and Gabe love Sam.
And he’s fine with that, for the most part, so long as they don’t get all up in his face with it. If they want to do their thing, if they want to all be together… far be it from Dean to stop them.
Gabriel presses a plate of pasta into Dean’s hand alongside a witty comment about being thinner than a stick. His brow is furrowed in worry, and Dean sneers at him because he’s only worried for Sam’s sake.
He’s only worried for Sam’s sake. Dean wishes that didn’t hit him so hard.
He reluctantly takes the food and walks away and Gabriel grabs his arm. When Dean turns back, he’s all seriousness, which Dean is definitely not used to. His face says we’ll get it out of you and Dean sticks out his tongue like a child before walking away.
So here’s the thing about Gabriel.
He’s annoying as all fuck. He and Dean have a relationship that consists almost entirely of antagonism and playful banter that borders on actual mutual hatred. They yell and tease and act all angry but at the end of the day Dean still knows he’d sacrifice anything for Gabe.
He wishes he wouldn’t.
Dean avoids Gabriel more than anyone else in the Bunker because Dean has no idea how to feel about him, or how he does feel about him. He confuses the everloving shit out of Dean, scrambles his brain, derails his train of thought.
In essence, Gabriel is distraction.
Dean drives. Every chance he get, he drives away from the Bunker, just wanting to escape from the suffocating environment. Dean drives to protect himself so he doesn’t have to face the fact that he is too far fallen.
Dean drives.
Dean is driving at 6:03 in the morning on July ninth, when Castiel appears in the back of his car.
“Dean,” he says seriously. “We need to talk about this.”
Dean swerves and says “no.”
“That wasn’t a request.”
“You don’t own me,” Dean spits back, even though it’s an outright lie.
Cas shakes his head. “Why can’t you stand to be near me? Any of us?”
Dean grits his teeth and ignores the question.
Cas looks crestfallen. “We miss you, Dean,” he murmurs, and then he disappears.
Dean drives. He doesn’t stop driving for almost twenty-four hours, but eventually he stops at a super shady motel with a failing shingled roof and a stutter red VACANCY sign that makes him wonder if there really are any vacancies.
There is one.
He takes the room with the too-large bed, sits on the edge and tries to sort some things out.
So here’s the thing about Dean.
Dean never really learned how to be a person. He only ever existed to do things for people. He was John’s warrior, Sam’s protector, a hunters’ legend. He never had a real purpose, and he was raised and trained, had it drilled into him that he was not worthy of love.
Which is why Dean pushes himself away.
Even though the four of them fit together perfectly.
Because Dean doesn’t deserve good things. Dean doesn’t get good things. And even if they wanted him, which they don’t, Dean would never accept it, because they are good, and Dean…
In essence. Dean is a ticking time bomb.
When Sam knocks on the door to the motel room Dean jumps six feet, and when he realizes who it is he seriously considers slipping out the window. But Sam’s standing there, separated from him by barely a foot of wood and how the fuck does he always look like a kicked puppy and Dean has always been weak for Sammy, so he unlocks the door and opens it.
And Sam tackles him, strong arms enveloping his entire body and Dean doesn’t care enough to pretend to fight it so he just lets Sam hug him and doesn’t ask which angel teleported him here. He sinks into his brother and Sam makes a strangled sound against his hair. And then Dean does fight, he pulls away, and he can’t look at Sam because he knows if he sees Sam cry he’ll cry too and he can’t do that.
So he sits back down on the bed and stares at the wall, and he hears Cas and Gabe join Sam in the doorway, and he can feel their disappointed and sad looks burning into his back, and when a hand falls on his shoulder, he turns.
And there they are, those blue eyes that he’s obsessed with, right next to him, and he doesn’t think. He lunges forward and pulls Cas against him and Sam makes another little sound, not at all like the one he made earlier, and-
When Cas kisses Dean back, the universe explodes.
So here’s the thing about Team Free Will (the third iteration).
They are good. They’re happy living together in the bunker, and they’re good.
It’ll take a very long time, but eventually they’ll learn (especially Dean) that they do deserve good things, and that they have earned everything they’ve gotten. Someday, when the world is no longer in constant danger and their lives are slightly less hectic, they’ll realize that there’s nothing else to be afraid of.
In essence, the four of them are happy.

Rocking the Boat 9
Supernatural
Link to Chapter 8
Pairings: Gabriel x Reader/Dean x Cas
Words: 1,894
_______
The whole ride back to the bunker, you sat snuggled against Gabriel.
“So what did you all do while I was away?”
Gabriel’s golden eyes fluttered up to the rearview mirror. Dean was staring back at him with a frown. Neither of the two had really rehearsed a grand story to tell you. They both had a feeling that you wouldn’t like the truth too well. It was time to face reality. You were going to find out everything very soon!
Walking into the bunker, you were still eagerly telling Gabriel about your trip to New York. You couldn’t help but notice how strangely quiet that your lover had been from the time that he picked you up. He was all over you, that was normal but it was his silence that was worrying you.
“I lost Cas at Time Square. Next time we go anywhere I am making a shirt for him that says if lost please return to Y/n. I, of course, will be wearing a shirt with my name on it. Thank god, he answered his cell phone.”
“Yeah, that might be a good idea.”
Gabriel said softly. Having enough, you turned to face him. Gabriel was looking at you with guilty eyes.
“Gabe, what is going on? You're acting weird. Oh shit! Is Sam okay?”
Gabriel held his hands up.
“Sam is just fine. Y/n, I need to talk to you about something..eh...someone who is here. I don’t want you to think that there is anything weird going on between…”
Before Gabriel could finish his sentence, none other than Kali stepped into the room. Every red flag in your brain started going off. Here stood Gabriel’s ex-girlfriend and Gabriel was acting like he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
“You’ve got to be shitting me.”
You muttered as Dean came skidding into the room. Your father gave you his best “everything is okay and it is not what it seems” expressions.
“Y/n, Kali is staying with us while we work on a case for her. She is in danger and we are helping her out. That is  what we do.” Everything is cool.”
Dean felt like he needed to remind you of the fact that you were a hunter and sometimes you had to help people that you didn’t like. You looked between your father and Gabriel suspiciously. Since when did your dad work for a demigod (especially one that wanted to use him as a bargaining chip)? A better question was why did Gabriel act so calm and collected? What the fuck was that about?
“Is this why I went to New York? So I wouldn’t know about her?”
Kali meanwhile, had eagerly walked over to you.
“Y/n Winchester! Look how grown-up you are!”
Before you could get something snarky out, Kali had a hold of your face. She tiled your face up so you could look into her eyes.
“You have grown up so much since our last meeting! You are so pretty!”
You wanted to reach out and pop the bitch for everything! She was the reason that you watched Lucifer stabbed Gabriel (even if it was a big Gabriel joke) and the reason that you had one of the weirdest evenings of your life. If those damn demigods weren’t having a pow-wow, Mercury would have never called Lucifer.
“There was also the fact that you watched her rub all over Gabriel.”
Your mind supplied. So what you were a teenager that Gabriel was not looking in any romantic way? You had feelings for Gabriel then. That was what mattered!
Kali was busy squeezing your chin and apparently prowling through your mind like a vicious lioness.
“Excuse me but you are kind of hurting my face.”
Kali quickly let go. She gazed at you with a warm smile. She ignored Gabriel who was looking beyond uncomfortable with all of the physical attention that she was lavishing on you.
“I can’t believe how grown-up you are! You really have turned out well. You have a lot of talent and a strong mind. You look so much like your father! You have those same lovely green eyes.”
You looked over your shoulder at Dean with a “help me” look. Dean meanwhile, smiled.
“I guess my genes are strong.”
“Thank Chuck for that.”
You muttered before turning your attention back to Kali.
“Yeah, it's been years since you saw me last. Not long enough if you ask me.”
“Y/n.”
Gabriel hissed. Kali gave the archangel a sneer.
“Leave her alone! She can say what she wants to. She's a big girl and doesn’t need approval from you. Y/n, I would love to go get coffee and catch up. I have wondered how you had been doing over these past many years.”
You tried to stop yourself from wincing. Why on earth did she want to be your friend?
“You poor dear, you have grown up without a mother…”
Ah, there it was! It all made sense now. You remembered doing some research about Kali being a strong mother figure.
“No offense but I didn’t really go without.”
The next thing that you knew Kali was standing behind you awkwardly patting your hair. Yep, this was weird!
Gabriel, meanwhile, had enough of this bunch of shit!
“She isn’t a poodle!”
He reached out, grabbed your arm, and pulled you to him. Kali did the same thing and pulled you back to her.
“She doesn’t need you tugging her around like a child, archangel! She isn’t your toy!”
Gabriel’s eyes were livid! You were honestly surprised that they weren’t glowing.
“If one of you breaks one of my arms off...I swear to god….”
You said coldly. Dean quickly walked over and pulled you back with him. He kept his arms around you in case one of the primordial beings in front of him decided to get in a tug of war game over you again.
“Kali, Y/n is just fine. We take care of her, Gabriel takes care of her…”
Kali smirked. Her eyes hadn’t left Gabriel’s furious face. Kali was partially surprised by Gabriel’s reactions when it came to you. The whole time that she had been with the trickster (archangel) he never once seemed to care about her the way that he did you. Kali had seen Gabriel flirt with other women right in front of her! He never had any regard for her feelings.
Now here Gabriel stood and was ready to turn Kali into a pile of ashes. Kali had noticed how Gabriel’s eyes never left you. Maybe it was the fact that he wasn’t pretending to be someone else now and this is who Gabriel was supposed to be. He was supposed to be the protective lover to the “right” girl. Maybe you were the “right” girl.
“Gabriel takes care of her? I would compare that to a pack of wolves.”
Your attention went back to Kali. You were beginning to look annoyed as well.
“Gabriel is a wonderful boyfriend. Too bad that you didn’t get to see that side of him.”
You patted gently patted your father on the shoulder. Dean let you go reluctantly.
Gabriel smiled when you came to his side.
“What can I say? She’s crazy about me,”
Gabriel replied smugly. Kali rolled her eyes.
“So, Y/n, about that coffee?”
You smiled, wanting to be polite in case Kali decided to take all of this personally.
“Maybe tomorrow? I promised my evening for something else.”
Dean and Cas both made the same matching frowns. Cas turned and walked from the room with Dean behind him muttering about needing a good stiff drink.
Kali nodded.
“That sounds wonderful. I would assume that you want some privacy since the two of you haven’t seen each other in a few weeks. Come find me in the morning, dear.”
You nodded as Gabriel wrapped his arm around your waist. He shot Kali a look before guiding you toward the bedroom.
Once the door was closed, you turned to face your lover.
“What in the name of fuck was that?”
Gabriel walked to the bed and sat down. He put his hands over his face before looking up at you with pleading eyes.
“First off, I had nothing to do with this. You dads assumed that you wouldn’t be able to handle being around one of my ex-girlfriends.”
Ah, it all made sense now. This had Dean Winchester all over it!
“Jeeze, I can handle being around Rowena. I think I can handle Kali. I may dream of punching Kali in the face but I’m not going to.”
Gabriel sat up straight. He immediately looked annoyed.
“You know about Rowena?”
You shrugged.
“Gabriel, you have been with more women than I care to think about.”
Gabriel crossed his arms over his chest.
“I don't want to talk about my ex-lovers. I wanted this to be about us.”
You held a hand up.
“Why are you getting so huffy over me knowing about Rowena? Are there still feelings there?”
Gabriel jumped up.
“Of course not! Why would you ask something like that?”
“Maybe because you are acting strange. Rowena is beautiful.”
Gabriel shook his head.
“You never told me that you knew about Rowena.”
What did Gabriel expect? Sure, you didn’t know about every one of his lovers and you didn’t really want to.
“Rowena, I can live with. The porn stars are the one that bothers me.”
“Just stop!”
Gabriel snapped.
“You know we have never talked about this.”
You stated calmly. How you were being so clam was a miracle in itself. You didn’t like thinking about Gabriel's past. Maybe it was because you never really had one. You never went out with other guys to compare Gabriel to.
“Why would you want to?”
Gabriel growled.
“Well, it's kind of an important subject. I know you are not a man whore now. I know about your past okay? I about the porn stars and Monte Carlo. Dad told me about all of that. It doesn’t matter but I would rather hear about it from you then someone else...you know just in case another one of your exes shows up needing help.”
“Isn’t he a damn prince?”
Gabriel said standing up. He reached out and pulled his leather jacket back on.
“Where are you going?”
You asked calmly. Gabriel rolled his eyes.
“I need some time alone. I have been sitting here for two weeks trapped my ex-girlfriend waiting for you to come home.  The last thing that I ever planned was to be discussing my love life with other people. I need to get some air.”
Gabriel disappeared before you were able to make any kind of protest. Shrugging, you went and laid down on your bed. What did Gabriel expect? You would find out about his love life with other people at some point. Was your potentially becoming friends with Kali causing this sudden surge of anger? Time would only tell on that one.

To Lose Thee Were To Lose Myself: Chapter 3
Tumblr media
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2
Chapter 3/10
Pairing: Gabriel/Sam
Chapter Word Count: 1832 (Story so far: 4730)
Summary:  Sam didn’t believe the “new man” speech from Gabriel, but he understood recovery and knew sometimes you just had to put on a brave face. He still struggled with his own recovery journey. Perhaps the two of them could help each other? And gank a few monsters along the way?
A/N: Begins right after 13x20 and goes canon divergent from there. Title from Paradise Lost by John Milton. Many thanks to @archangelgabriellives for the beta read and a couple of awesome suggestions/additions! Story is complete. I’m just trying the serial approach because I’ve never done it with a fanfic before.
Ao3 Link
Sam went back outside and sat on the curb in front of their room. This whole situation was just weird. Was Dean saying he thought there was something going on between him and Gabriel? Because that couldn't be true. Not that Sam hadn't had the occasional idle fantasy. But unlike Dean--Sam had known about his brother's bisexuality since forever-- he considered himself firmly in the girl's only camp. And why in the world would an archangel be interested in damaged him? The boy who used to drink demon blood? Who had been considered an abomination by angels? Thankfully, Cas seemed to have moved beyond that, but he doubted many of the other angels had. Suddenly, he had the oddest feeling that he was being watched. He looked up to see Gabriel perched on the second floor railing. He was swinging his feet back and forth, perfectly in balance. Sam was annoyed. "Are you going to just sit up there and watch me forever?" Gabriel shrugged, slid off the railing and landed in front of Sam, a casual display of grace and agility that left Sam briefly breathless. He stood in front of the human, expression neutral. Sam thought maybe it was a bit too carefully neutral.
"So what happened back there? What did I do to make you run?" Gabriel sat down on the curb, eyes cast down in front of him. "You talked to your brother. That should give you some clue." "So you heard that?" "Sure. Didn't Cas ever clue you in to angel hearing?" "I thought you only heard prayers." Gabriel laughed, but there wasn't much humor in it. "If only. Yes, we hear those, but we also hear just about everything within, oh several hundred yards. I usually have to make an effort to drown out most of it." "And of course, you didn't drown out my conversation with Dean?" Sam wasn't sure why this was making him angry, but he could feel his heart rate rising along with his blood pressure. Gabriel turned his head and met his eyes. "No, I didn't. Since you were basically discussing me, I thought I had the right to know what you were saying. Why is this making you so angry?" Sam took a few deep breaths because that was a good question. Finally, he said, "I guess I don't know. Mostly I want to know what I did. And if there's anything to what Dean was talking about." The angel didn't answer for a long minute. "It wasn't anything you did, okay. I ran because I hadn't meant for you to feel that. And, yes, there's something to what Dean was talking about, although not it's not quite what he was thinking." Now that Gabriel was talking, Sam felt his anger receding. "Still not sure what that means." Gabriel sighed and leaned back on his hands. "Okay, let's take this one at a time. Yes, what Dean was talking about in regards to angels is true, but it wasn't exactly true for me." "What does that even mean?" "It means that when Loki gave me his power, it buffered me against my angelic need to...oh heck, we'll go with belong. It works as well as anything. As long as I was Loki, I wasn't affected by being cut off from Dad." Sam thought maybe he knew what was coming next. "But you don't have Loki's power anymore?" "Right in one, Sam." "But I still don't get it. Why was I able to feel your grace? I mean, you can't be...bonding or whatever...with me." Gabriel stood up and started to walk off. Sam hurried to his feet and followed him, reaching out a hand to stop him. The archangel whirled, straightening to his full height, eyes flashing blue. The scent as of an approaching thunderstorm filled the air. Sam dropped his hand to his side. Again, he wasn't sure what he'd done, but he recognized back off language when he saw it. "I'm sorry. I don't want to make you angry, but that seems to be what I'm doing here. If you'll just explain so a slow human can figure it out." Gabriel's body language changed again with quicksilver speed. Instead of looking like he was going to smite Sam, his shoulders rolled as if he were mantling his invisible wings protectively over Sam. What the heck? "You're not the slow one, Sam. Didn't I already basically say that earlier today?" Sam spread his arms in confusion. "Well, I must be because I still have no idea what you're trying to tell me." Gabriel sighed, lowering his shoulders, folding in on himself. Sam was reminded of a trip to a nature preserve where he'd seen a wounded falcon sitting on a perch, hunched over with one wing carefully held close to his body. The memory evoked a mixture of protectiveness and sadness toward the archangel, which left him confused and unsettled.
Gabriel walked back to the curb and sat down, with none of his usual grace. Sam followed, carefully keeping several feet of space between them. "I'm sorry, Sam. This has been a pretty rotten few days. I was hoping not to have this conversation, but we don't always get what we want." He sighed deeply. "Okay, yes, what little grace I have is reaching out to you." "What!" Sam exclaimed. "Why me?" Gabriel gave a small huff of rueful laughter. "It might be better to ask why not you. You and I have a lot in common if you think about it. Absent father. Older brother who expects things of you that you don't want. You try to get away, but a brother shows up whining about a missing father and expects you to do something about it." He paused. "Okay, that last might be a bit of a stretch. Castiel didn't actually ask me to help find dear old Dad, but that's probably just because he didn't know where to find me." Sam had never thought of the parallels before, but when they were laid out like that, they were kind of obvious. "But that's not what you said when we confronted you in the warehouse. You compared us to your older brothers." Gabriel shook his head sadly. "Really, Sam? You've never heard of misdirection? Sure, that was all true. It just wasn't the real truth." "Then what is the real truth?" Gabriel unfurled his body and straightened again. "You haven't guessed it yet? Sam, I've been attracted to you from the first moment I saw you. Which, by the way, was not when you showed up on that college campus. I've been watching you much longer than that." Sam was...floored. He wasn't certain what to think about what he'd just heard. Gabriel was attracted to him? What was he supposed to do with that? What did he want to do about it? When Sam didn't say anything, Gabriel curled back in on himself again. He stood up. "Look, I'm tired. Suppose you could get your brother to lend me his car keys? I can crash in the back seat." He looked down at himself, as if disgusted by his vessel. "I'm certainly short enough." He turned to walk to the car. Sam mentally shook himself out of his surprise. He wasn't sure what to do with what he'd heard yet, but he knew that Gabriel didn't need to deal with his shit on top of his own. As for sleeping in the car, not a chance. "Gabe, stop." He wasn't going to make the mistake of trying to touch him again. Gabriel took a step or two but then stopped without turning. "What now, Sam?" He wished now that he could reach out. There was so much pain, regret and self-loathing in those three words. "Look, I'm sorry." "I don't want your pity!" Gabriel didn't turn, but he did straighten again to his full height. "Listen for a minute and leave your pride out of this!" Sam snapped. He immediately regretted his outburst. Now, Gabriel turned, his eyes flashing blue again. "My pride? My pride? That's rich coming from you right now!" Sam held out his hands in a placating gesture. "When I said I was sorry, I meant for my behavior. This is pretty sudden for me. I don't know what to make of it. Give me some time to process everything, and then maybe we can have a discussion without me feeling like a fish out of water." Gabriel stood his ground for another moment before nodding. "All right. That's fair. But I still need someplace to sleep." Sam thought about offering to get him his own room, but as soon as the idea crossed his mind, he rejected it. He didn't want Gabriel to be alone in a cut-rate hotel room. He had a better idea. "The car's not that comfortable, even if you're shorter than I am. Come inside. Sleep on one side of my bed." Gabriel tilted his head, like a hawk examining prey. "And where are you planning on sleeping? Don't tell me the couch. I already napped there. Don't recommend it." Sam gave him a challenging grin. "I don't know. I was thinking about sleeping on the other side of my bed." Gabriel actually took a minute to work that out. "You're serious?" "Yes," Sam said simply. "You mean just sleeping, right? This isn't code for something weird?" Sam's grin grew wider. "I thought you were into weird, but no, just sleeping." That surprised a half-laugh out of Gabriel. A moment later, he shrugged and said, "All right." Sam unlocked the door and went in. Dean was already in bed, on his stomach, snoring softly. That sound still meant home to Sam. He motioned Gabriel to the bed but then paused, motioned to the bathroom and raised an eyebrow. He gave a wry grin, mouthed, "Archangel, remember?" and shook his head. He moved to the bed and lay down on top of the covers, carefully keeping to one side of the bed. Sam rummaged in the drawer he'd unpacked into, took out his sleep wear and padded softly into the bathroom. Dean didn't usually wake up to his brother moving around, but Sam wanted to avoid any awkward questions about the angel in his bed. As he brushed his teeth, he thought about the conversation he'd just had with Gabriel. It had been nothing he'd expected, and he wanted to get back to the Bunker to get more information from Castiel. However, right now he was tired, and he'd be able to think about this better after sleep. He finished and went back into the main room. Gabriel was still curled on his side, facing the wall. Sam settled himself under the covers, also being careful to stay on his own side. No need to make this more awkward than it needed to be. Still, he found the archangel warmth at his back to be comforting as he drifted off.

Gabriel saw her across the street, shoving the other half of a twisted glaze donut into her mouth before she burst out laughing at the teasing the gentleman next to her was giving. He stood stock-still like an idiot on the other side of the street, marveling at the way her soul swirled and pulsed with pinks, golds, and grays.
He was vaguely aware of Dean nudging his arm before Cas waved a hand in front of his face, both saying his name with concern. Sam had quickly put two and two together, noticing the woman on the other side and a silent Gabriel standing dazed, grinning stupidly at her.
Sam crossed the street, following no more than ten feet behind her - only to lose sight of her when she turned the corner with the man she’d been with. Gabriel, Dean, and Cas all followed him across the street, just a handful of feet behind when he turned back to them, hands raised up as he shrugged.
“You lost her?” Gabriel asks incredulously.
“Maybe if you hadn’t been staring like an idiot…” Dean trails off, shoving his left hand into his dress pant pocket.
“Hard to believe you muttonheads have saved the world. And more than once!” Gabriel mutters before reaching out with his grace to find any lingering traces of her. There are only a few tendrils, all located behind him, so he turns to Cas. “Did you see her soul?”
“Yes.”
“And?”
“And what, Gabriel?” Gabriel rolls his eyes so hard at his brother’s question, he briefly wondered if the red flicker he saw was brain matter.
“Did you see the colors, Castiel? Pinks and golds and grayish silvers.”
“It just appeared to be pink to me. Which, in itself, is very odd. Most souls are blues or whites.”
“Uh, guys?” Sam taps on Cas’s shoulder, motioning back to the other side of the street. “Maybe we should get back to the case?”
“People are dying every day, Sammy. I have never seen a soul like that. And I’ve been around this marble a few times.” All three of the men glare at him, which he pretends not to notice. “Alright. Alright! Let’s get back to saving people. But I call dibs on her.”
Dean gets an annoyed look on his face and crosses the street, while Sam stares at him before rolling his eyes and following his brother. Cas’s glare morphs into something more questioning and with a quick look back, Gabriel crosses with Castiel a few steps behind him - both at a loss for the missed encounter and the woman with the bright soul.
The paper’s website had stated that the woman stabbed her own mother then had a mental breakdown, sobbing over her lost love. Classic siren. And since Chuck had unceremoniously dumped Gabriel in their laps nearly six months ago, they figured this would be an easy case to crack.
It was turning out to be anything but.
The next night, a couple was snatched from the woods. No blood, no screaming. The only reason they even suspected it was linked was that the young man’s mother came in to report him missing, muttering a few choice words about his girlfriend and how she just wanted to deflower her son. So, maybe not a siren? Maybe a dragon? Shit.
Once they were done snooping around the sheriff’s station, they headed back downtown for lunch before they would head over to the sister’s house to talk about the incident of her mother’s death - Sam suggested they go ask the missing kids’ parents a few questions after that, hoping to narrow down their list of monster suspects.
They were all walking out, discussing various monster possibilities when Sam suddenly stopped, making Dean run into him.
“Jeez, Sammy. Warn a man!”
“It’s her! Gabriel’s mystery woman.” Gabriel was standing stock still, once again, staring as her tongue swept out of her mouth to lick at a triple scoop ice cream cone. She was only a few store front’s down, accompanied by two men this time, both around six feet, one blonde with dark olive skin and light green eyes - the other with dark brown hair, fair skin and dark blue eyes.
She stops, looking quizzically at the four men staring at her before giving a tight smile before shooting the blonde man to her left a look.
Gabriel let out a loud whine, seeing her dressed in those tight black jeans, a loose purple and white striped sweater and an easy smile before her tongue darted out again to lap at the melting confection. The brunet leaned down to whisper in her ear and her gaze darted to Gabriel.
The blonde held up his hand, approaching them with the woman and another man close behind him.
“Well, if it isn’t Loki. Heard you were dead.” The blonde stopped, his hand held out to shake Sam’s. “And you are?” He asks, eyeing the taller man.
“Himeros, you’re still a Greek dick.” Gabriel huffed out with a giant snarky smile in return.
“Come on, H. It’s not hard to tell - he’s Sam Winchester. That’s Dean, and of course, Castiel.” She gestures with her head to each member before winking at Gabriel.
“Uh, do we know you?” Sam mutters, shaking his hand.
“No,” the brunet answers. “But you did murder our grandfather and aunts, so we know you.”
“Whoa.” Gabriel turns to Sam and Dean. “You took out Zeus?” He whistles lowly.
“Who’s your mom?” Dean queries, shaking Himeros’s hand as well.
“Golgos.” The woman admonishes as she sets her left hand on his forearm. “Oh, um…our mother is Aphrodite. And I’m sorry for my brothers.”
“Brothers.” Gabriel grins out, plucking her hand from Golgos’s arm and bringing it to his lips. “And what is your name, my beautiful buttercup?” Gabriel held her gaze, his chest tightening as her eyes softened.
“Y/N.” She swallowed before licking her lips. “My name is Y/N. What about you, handsome?” Gabriel quirked an eyebrow at her question before Himeros interrupted.
“It’s Loki, I already said his name.” Himeros snapped out, moving forward to push Gabriel away from his sister. But Gabriel yanked her into him, wrapping an arm securely around her waist, relishing in the feeling of them chest to chest. “Release my sister, Trickster.” Gabriel leaned forward, taking a generous bite of her ice cream as she raised an eyebrow.
“Naw, I like her.”
“Ga- Loki.” Cas scolded, glaring down at his brother. “We need to get back to the case.”
“You know anything?” Dean grunts, looking from the men to Y/N.
“Just that it’s a witch. And a very powerful one at that.” Golgos answers with a shrug, watching his sister and Gabriel with interest.
“And that’s it?” Sam inquires, shuffling his weight from one foot to the other as he slides his right hand into his jacket pocket.
“That’s it.” Y/N replies, still pressed against Gabriel, looking up at Sam with big, innocent eyes. “We saw the article and since we were in the neighborhood, we decided to stop by.”
“So, you’re gods who hunt?” Dean challenged, giving her a disbelieving look.
“Golgos and I are demi-gods. Himeros is a god.” Her eyes harden as she locks them with Dean. “And if you attempt to harm my brothers, you’ll have a very difficult time getting laid from now on.” Gabriel throws his head back with mirthful laughter, startling the woman in his arms slightly.
“Oh, I like you very, very much, sugar snap.” Himeros snapped, Y/N now safely by his side.
“And I would like it if you kept your Trickster mitts off my baby sister.”
“What about my lips? Other appendages?”
“If you’d like to keep your appendages, don’t put them anywhere near her,” Golgos growls, both moving to stand beside her like bodyguards. She just rolled her eyes before fishing her cell phone from her back pocket and extending it out to Sam.
“Feel free to put your number in there and I will text you any information we find out.” Sam grasps the phone, quickly inputting his number and email before handing it back with a smile.
“Thanks, we appreciate it.”
“Sure, you do,” Himeros muttered before all three disappeared. Gabriel huffed afterward, he and Dean frowning at the now empty space.
“Guess we gotta start narrowing suspects down. Lone witch. Fuck.” Dean groaned out, heading back down the street to get the Impala, muttering the entire way about witches, gods, Gabriel, and bullshit.
“I think that went pretty well, don’t you think so?” Gabriel piped up brightly, grinning at Sam and Cas, Sam rolling his eyes as Cas frowns. “What?!”
Three hours later, just as the sun was setting, they encountered the witch.
He got the drop on them, Gabriel and Cas pushing the Winchesters behind them as he hurled a handful of foul-smelling purple powder at them. The witch was just out of grabbing (and smiting) distance, sprinting away quicker than Sam and Dean could follow. The brothers returned to find both angels gone.
“Fuck,” Sam mutters, shoving his gun back into his jacket pocket, exchanging a look with his brother as Dean dialed Cas’s cell.
“Cas? Where are you, buddy? You okay? Need you to call me back pronto.” Dean let out a sharp breath. “Alright. If that powder crap took away their angel mojo, they couldn’t have gotten far. We weren’t gone that long.” Sam agrees and they split up, heading around the outside of the building where they were attacked. Dean shakes his head when they meet up a few buildings away, “Fuck.” They jog back to Baby, driving slowly back to the motel, keeping an eye out for Cas and Gabe.
Your brothers had gone out to investigate (and pick you up some Chinese) while you were left to finish going through the police reports for the last two weeks on every. single. little. incident. Car keyed: 1701 Rosebud Ave, Max Jackson. Fire Alarm (False Alarm): 386 Monroe Road, Abigail and Joseph Robbins. You couldn’t tell if it was this stack of files or your overprotective brothers that were causing the irritation you felt.
You roll your eyes before hearing a soft thud. You tug the one headphone you had in free, setting them in the next file as a placeholder and rising from the little dinette chair. The little thud sounds again, followed by a light scratching.
Quirking your head to the left, you open the door, eyes dropping down as you hear a pair of soft meows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Oh, my sweet little angels. What have you gotten yourselves into?” Cas quirked his head, peering up at you with unfathomable blue eyes as you drop to your knees, smoothing your hand through his short black fur. Loki - who you definitely knew wasn’t a god - nuzzled under your other hand, goldenrod orbs blinking closed as you scratched behind his ear. “Okie dokie,” You gently pick Cas up, tucking his little black body under your left arm and repeated the movement with Loki before you stand, kicking the door closed behind you.
Bullshit. You shrug off the odd voiced phrase, focusing on what you needed to do next.
You get Cas sat on the end of your bed when your phone rings out, you’re about to set Loki down too when he gives a little hiss and carefully tangled his claws in the arm of your sweater.
“Okay. Fine,” you huff, picking up your cell. “Yes?” Settling against the headboard, tucking your legs under you as Cas ambles forward you sit Loki in your lap, reaching out to scratch under Cas’s chin. “You can’t find Cas and Loki? I believe I may be able to help you out there…” Sam is talking a million miles an hour, half to you and half to Dean, who is muffled but obviously irritated. “No, no - uh, they aren’t injured.”
“I don’t like how you said that.” Dean sighs out as Sam lets you know he’s put it on speaker.
“I’m at the Cloud Hotel, in one of the bungalows behind the hotel, 2B.”
“We’ll be there in 10.” You hang up, tossing the phone onto the pillow beside you before scratching behind Loki’s ear and sliding your fingers down under his chin before rubbing his chest, enjoying the deep purr that rumbled from his little kitty chest.
Mmmmmhmmm. Right. There. Sweet. Cheeks.
You freeze as those words echo in your mind.
“Ummmm…why can I hear you?” Cas shoots forward, shoving his head under your free hand then looking up at you with slightly narrowed eyes. Nothing. He meows loudly, and Loki meows back before climbing up your chest, looking you right in the eye as he presses one of his little paws against your skin just at the neckline of your scoop-neck sweater.
Sweetness?
I have a name, Mr. Not Loki. His goldenrod colored eyes widen as you smirk. I may have been born at night, but it wasn’t last night, handsome. Sam and Dean will be here in less than ten minutes. Loki meows at Cas who nods his black head before resuming his place by your left knee.
Y/N.
Yes?
I got wings. He pauses, a little sigh releasing from his tiny butterscotch colored chest. Like Kotex.
You laugh, making his body sway slightly with the laughter. That’s an interesting way to come out as an angel! But, I knew. You have this fuzzy - haze? Outline? - golden, multicolored-like edge around you.
And Cas does too? His voice has an edge of - hope? - to it. You mentally shrug it off, looking down at Cas, you draw your brows together.
No. I just knew that he was Castiel, Angel of the Lord. Wearer of the tan trench coat. Member of Team Free Will and the Winchester’s buddy. Two hunters with male model good looks and an angel in a trench coat? Not too hard to deduce who they were. You can’t help it as your fingers sink into his fur again, smoothing from his neck all the way down to the tip of his tail. And you were too - other - feeling to be human. Or even a god. Trust me on that.
Gabriel. He purrs, his eyes sliding closed as you continue stroking him.
Holy shit. Like THE Gabriel? Messenger of God?
Yep. He gives a little pop at the “p”, maneuvering so he’s draped over one of your thighs, letting you keep the contact needed to converse.
So why pretend to be Loki or the Trickster? Isn’t that kind of a step down from archangel?
I like to think I don’t have as big an ego as some of my brothers. And the rest is a long, fairly uneventful story.
Riiight. You pull your hand away as he turns to peer up at you. Your brothers had warned you not to get involved with the Trickster, that he was selfish and only thought of having a good time.
And when it was over, he would disappear. Loki - no, Gabriel - moves, pressing his head against the hand closest to him.
Y/N?  You don’t get a chance to answer, a loud knock sounding at the door. You carefully push Gabriel out of your lap and answer the door. Opening the door and sidestepping, you allow the Winchesters in.
“Where are they?”
“On the bed.” Sam is gaping at the cats, looking from them to Dean to you.
“Are you shitting me?” You purse your lips, leaning against the little dinette table. “Why’d they come here?”
”I don’t know, Dean! I was going through the files diligently, trying to find the witch or get a lead and I hear a little thud. Followed by some loud meowing. Sorry, they didn’t come running to your cat allergy riddled ass.” Dean looks taken aback by your tone and the sharp look you throw him. ”I have to deal with two overprotective brothers - who now they’ve seen not only the fucking Winchesters but the Trickster god Loki - have gone into super overprotective mode. I had to threaten, coerce, bring up how much bitchier I can get, and then threaten some more in order to get a little time to myself. So, here are your angels,” you turn, gathering up the files in your hands and shoving them at the stunned eldest Winchester. “Here are the files…and -” Your phone goes off suddenly, which for some reason just pisses you off more. Stomping over and angrily sliding to accept the call you shout “What?!” at Golgos through the phone. That’s when it hits you.
The sudden irritation and anger.
A hex bag.
That witchy motherfucker.
“Free bird!” You yell your safe words into the phone, panicking slightly at the anger simmering just under your skin. You were usually very in control of your emotions, very easy going and understanding. This was not normal.
Four sets of eyes regard you warily, but Gabriel seems to realize something is off, jumping nimbly across the bed to butt his head against your stomach. Your brothers appear suddenly, Himeros planting himself between you and the Winchesters as Golgos looks you over. “Hex.” You cry, the feeling of being strangled begins and your hand lands on Gabriel’s back, tightening slightly as you look at Golgos with wide eyes. Gabriel meows loudly, raising an alarm as you slide down to your knees, one hand braced against the thin carpet and the other shoved into Gabriel’s fur so hard you were worried you might hurt him.
Cas is helping sniff it out. Just focus on my voice, sugar snap. Can you do that? You can faintly hear him meowing loudly as you struggle to take a full breath. Black spots were beginning to touch on the edges of your vision, his fur so soft under your loosening grip. They got it, sweet cheeks. Y/N? Y/N! And then the blackness swallowed you down.
Something warm was pressed against your chest, making you curl slightly around the warmth.
Something warm and purring.
Purring?
Fuck if your eyelids aren’t heavy.
“Ugh.” You manage as you force your eyes all the way open and being met with a pair of gilded ones. “Hey.” Your voice is rough, throat still raw from the attack the hex bag. You move a heavy hand to stroke Gabriel.
Hey, good-looking. If you had the strength to roll your eyes, you would.
“How’re you feeling?” Himeros asks, leaning down to press a kiss to your forehead.
“Sore.” He gives a sharp nod, raising back up to his standing position. “We used the hex bag to track the witch down.”
“And handled it.” Dean finishes, and you push yourself up so you can see him, giving him a nod.
But you’re still a cat.
Apparently…the spell lasts for at least a week. We’re hoping that since we’re more angelic in nature that it’ll be faster. His tail twitches as you sink back down into the mattress. I think I know why you can hear me.
Humm?
You believe in soulmates?
Thought angels - yawn - don’t have souls.
“Get some rest, princess. We aren’t going to take your kitties.” Golgos soothed, smiling brightly. And you reached out, blindly searching for Cas. His head bumps under your outstretched hand, climbing behind your head and resting his head against your neck with a few soft purrs as Gabriel snuggles closer to your chest.
We don’t. We have grace. But we’re destined. You and me, beautiful.
You know how cheesy that sounds? You manage not to yawn when you “speak” that time, taking a deep breath and you lazily trace zigzags through his goldenrod fur.
You’re pretty against the whole ‘love at first sight’ thing for being a daughter of Aphrodite… You can hear his slight chuckle as he stretches slightly to bump his head against your chin.
Gabriel?
Yeah?
Destined, huh?
Maybe we can talk more when I’m not a cat. And can kiss you. Fend off your brothers, snap you up some nice things…
Sounds good, handsome.  You manage before sleep claimed you again.
Two days later - and lots of yelling from Golgos and Himeros (”GABRIEL?! LOKI IS ACTUALLY A FUCKING ARCHANGEL?!” and “GODS, I KNEW HE WAS AN ASSHOLE, BUT THIS…?!) and Y/N protecting Gabe’s tiny cat body from her brothers in those first few hours after - Cas and Gabriel were back to normal.
And as soon as they were, Y/N muttered how much she was going to miss their little cat selves. No more waking up or going to sleep with the two of them curled up around Y/N. No more picking them up to rub her nose against theirs or to have her scratching and petting the pair. Y/N had actually enjoyed the last couple days.
Y/N sentiment was not shared by Dean, who had to spend most of his time away from them as possible the last few days.
Gabriel linked his fingers through Y/N’s, relishing in the ability to do so.
“Sooo…wanna get outta here?”
“Nice choice of opening lines there, hot stuff.” Y/N scoffed, pulling away just enough to rile the archangel, his hand tightening on hers slightly before rubbing small circles on the back.
“I’m the Gomez to your Morticia, sweet cheeks. You’ll give in to me. Just a matter of time.” Y/N pulls her hand from his grasp.
“Sorry. I’m not giving into anything without a ring on this finger.” She heads towards her brothers who are talking with Dean and Sam, leaving Gabriel with his jaw on the floor. For about two beats. He appears before her, kneeling with a black velvet box on one knee.
“I think it’s high time I take the plunge.” He clears his throat, shifting under her gaze as everyone stares. “What do you say? Me and you? Rest of eternity? I’ll bring the sweets. Hell, I’ll snap you up a mansion with whatever kind of kittens you want. As long as you don’t love them more than me.” Y/N opens her mouth but Gabriel shushes her. “Come on - lemme get this out. Well, I, uh, help those mooks over there whenever and be a damn good mate. Fuck.” He runs a hand through his hair nervously. “Okay. Okay. We’ve only known each other for four days, but that’s long enough when you got as long as we do.” What started as a joke had morphed into him actually asking for a chance. “Y/N? Will you marry me?” Her eyes are searching his, trying to find the trick before her brows draw together as her teeth dig into her bottom lip.
He lifts the top of the ring box, revealing a large Ring Pop, Y/N laughter spilling all around the empty back parking lot. Gabriel wiggles his eyebrows before flashing a big, flirty grin.
“Yes.”
“YES?!” Her brothers shout in tandem as Dean and Sam’s eyebrows both shoot up to their hairlines. Castiel just sighs softly. Gabriel rises, plucking the Ring Pop from its velvet cage and as he offers it to her, her eyes fall on a very real engagement ring shining in the black box in his hand.
“For real now. You know we have a bond. So, you wanna marry a runaway archangel slash trickster god?” Y/N takes fistfuls of his green cargo jacket in hand and presses her lips firmly against his in their first kiss. Gabriel licks his lips after, an easy smile stretching across his face.
“Had to try out the goods, at least partially,” She shrugs before muttering against his lips, “Ask me again. Properly.”
“Mmhmm. I like that you’re a tad bossy.” He brushes his thumb across her jawline. “Y/N, will you marry me?”
“Yes.”
“AGAIN?! ARE YOU SHITTING ME?! YOU ARE NOT MARRYING HIM, Y/N!” One of her brother’s shout, both moving forward as Gabriel kisses her again before slipping his real engagement ring on her ring finger and the Ring Pop onto her forefinger. “THIS WILL BE THE LONGEST ENGAGEMENT KNOWN TO MAN!” Himeros snarls out, Golgos chuckling behind him.
“These rings actually look nice together.” Gabriel muses.
”Who knew?” She gives a quick peck on his lips. “I am not inviting your family to our wedding.”
“That’s fair.” Gabriel agrees, cupping her face in his hands to deliver a long, passionate kiss.
“What is the phrase? Poor bastard.” Cas begins loudly, shaking his head as Sam and Dean shoot him an odd look. “Her family is nearly as terrible as ours.”
“Hey!” Golgos and Himeros shout in tandem.
“So, Vegas?” Y/N whispers breathlessly in between long, romantic kisses.
“Oh, sweetness, you read my mind.” Gabriel raises his hand and is about to snap when her fingers wiggle against his palm, easily threading together with his, both of them disappearing in a flutter of wings.
All five men’s phones go off simultaneously.

The men’s faces range from amused (Sam) to disgusted (Himeros) to thoughtful (Cas and Golgos) while Dean broke out in a big grin. Vegas!
“They have known each other for four days!”
“At least they’ve known each other longer than Sam knew his wife.” Sam shoots Dean the bitchface to end all bitch faces before flipping him off and climbing into the Impala. “Better get started, Vegas is a couple days drive from here. See you guys at the wedding.” Dean is chuckling as he climbs into the driver’s seat. Cas offers the men each a handshake.
“Nice to meet you. Gabriel, for all his eccentricities and snarky exterior, is a good man. And I believe that Y/N is one hell of an influence on him already. Sam and I will have more trouble with Dean in Las Vegas than you will have with Gabriel.” He claps Golgos on the shoulder before sliding into the backseat. “Hopefully.”

BedHead
BedHead- My little shitty piece (but made with load of love) for Michelle’s AU & Things Challenge @luci-in-trenchcoats
I’m really sorry for how long it took, but sadly, I’m a procrastinator in full shape and form.
Most of the female hunters he had met before you were either tomboys or extremely powerful women. But not y/n. She, as many girls whose lives had been taken away from them, didn't care much about looks, but you still kept yourself attached to your simple style. You wouldn't dress up in the bunker or in hunts, but still fix your messy hair in the mornings onto a simple ponytail or braid.  Gabriel and Dean couldn't help but look into your reflex in the mirror as your sleepy  eyes tracked the hair seeping on your forehead. Both would wake up and while Dean prepared coffee, he would snap the best pancakes for you. Y/n had fallen into a simple routine. Wake up Sammy from the library in the middle of the night and drag him back to his room. Tidy the shooting range until your insomnia had been beaten down and go back to sleep. The soft smile you gave them as you sat on the kitchen table each morning was enough to forget whatever villain or curse they were against this time. Of course, neither of them were gonna ever tell you that. They'll rather keep pretending than try to take that smile from the other one.
When Gabriel first met the new addition to Team Free Will, he was scared. A soul like yours would be wrecked by the blood-thirst of the creatures that bump in the night. So shinny, interested in the knowledge of the past that the MoL bunker had to offer. It took him less than a day before he was interrogating the younger Winchester about her. "Her mother was an old contact of the Men of Letters for all kinds of Norse mythology. Like, translating The Poetic Edda from the start kinda level. So when she died, Y/n found a note explaining everything and she came to find some answers" "And when I got them and saw how little this giants knew about gods, decided to stay as a researcher" You interrupted as the side of your body supported itself on the door. Saying you were beautiful was underestimated. Your 1,60 mts made him taller than you (thing already weird to happen) and a concentrated ball of sass and smart-ass comments with a little bit of sweetness and mother hen instincts. You were wearing a too big for you t-shirt and stretch pants you were practically stepping on. " And who is this new guy? " her eyes stumble with yours as she asks. The archangels fights as stutter as he tries to get back his charm and charisma." I'm Gabriel, Archangel of the Lord, but you may call me Loki,  your new all hands helper" wink. Seeing her face as she realizes one of the gods she's been studying all her life is standing in front of her is enough to leave her breathless and open-eyed. He could sense her knees shivering and a scent of overwhelming, excitement, and fear filling the room. By know Sam had left the room living her murmuring to herself a thousand questions and worries. "Hey sugar, calm down. Is just old me. You don't have to bow or anything, but please keep your questions between one and two million, 'cause if you do more I may end keeping you" You chuckle. When you joined the Winchesters you never thought you would get to meet an actual god, especially since Dean had forced you to promise to abstain from actual hunting. On the other side of the room, Dean felt a stab of jealousy as you looked at the annoying archangel with adoration. Of course you were gonna chose the all powerful and flawless short, golden eyed guy. He had been to slow on his feelings, never actually dealing with them to notice that he didn't woke up early everyday just for kiks and sakes, but to watch you walk inside the kitchen and rub your eyes as your messy hair puffed up with freeze. His little brother bugged him for weeks until you almost heard him and stopped. The thing is, you were even more fascinating on the inside. You had never heard any classic rock apart from the ones that appeared in movies, but still would try to follow him bickering on and on about Metallica. You didn't know how to drive anything but your old bike, but he never failed to notice your company as he fixes cars. The way your eyes had lit up a few days ago when the bunkers entrance was filled with autumn leaves. If he ever went back to heaven, he was sure that, you, dragging Sam and him to jump on the leaves and laugh, was going to be there, right next to the fireworks, Mom cooking, drinking with Jo and Bobby, Cas trying to understand his references with a cocked head and many more. Of course, now that mr. Norse deity was here, all the nightmare filled dreams he avoided by staying up all night with you watching "completely inaccurate" Marvel movies would belong to another.
Gabriel was great. He explains Voluspa for you and shows you places that disappeared in time. You still read with Sammy and swapped recipes with Dean as he told stories of hunts and shared laughs with Castiel in enochian to mock the brothers. But as your feelings for Gabriel evolved into similar ones you had for Dean, you've became wary of yourself. It was too impossible for them to understand. Sam, maybe. But what good would it do but make him uncomfortable. So you started staying a little more time in your room, appearing to join conversations less and less everyday. "What the fuck did you do to her?" Dean exploded one morning you didn't appear in the kitchen. "What I did, Dean-o? It's not my fault Y/n doesn't want to pay a visit to Midgard with me anymore. Was it something you said? You don't want her to socialize with 'monsters' like me, right? Yes, I heard what you thought. Well, fuck you, big boy! I wouldn't want to be the friend of a Daddy issued mess like you if I were her anyway!" You stopped your tracks at the hall as you heard your best friends fight each other because of you. Although knowing they both care you so much is making your chest start to beat to the rhythm of a fast rap song, you can't help to suffer even more knowing you could never have their love. Your sobs start and as you run to your room the fighting stops. Dean and Gabriel look at each other before going to your room. They did this to you. Knock. Knock. Knock "Sugar...It's us. Can we talk?" Gabe didn't use a voice so calm without cause. "We've calmed down. Not shouting at all" "Dean I'm not a fucking scared dog!" Voice broken as could be. "Sorry. We just want to explain ourselves." Even though they talked cockily and with confidence you knew they both thought they weren't enough for you. You had a type, it seemed. Dean was that warm feeling when you arrived home to the smell of humidity and the sound of a guitar and Gabe was that sweetness when you left strawberries to soak on sugar, and that soft touch on old books. They were oh so perfect. The door opens to meed a flushed red Y/n who is cleaning her eyes on the sleeves of her morning shirt. She waves a 'come in' and they all sit on the bed. "Look, Gabe, Dean, I didn't mean for any of this to happen.-" You were interrupted by Gabe's hand on your knee. You don't think you've ever seen him so serious. He's wearing a little concerned guilty frown and a compassive smile. " You don't even stand each other an-and I now you're fighting and-" A double hug stopped you. Gabe just had his head on your shoulder and a squish informed you Dean had his arms around you. "It's not your fault sweetheart. I'm sorry. I just..got jealous, like, really jealous. You used to spend so much time with me and since Gabe joined us, I can only see the fact that I miss being with you" He still wouldn't spill his feelings, but he wanted to be as honest as he could without breaking his "Dean bottles feelings" rule. "Dean-o, it's not your fault either, I know the reason Y/n has been more absent lately is me. I know I can be  a bit to much sometimes. I destroyed the rutine you guys had." "Stop it with the fault game! I backed away because I knew that I kept on going further it would break me when I left!" "Leave? Why?" Gabe actually looked scared for once. "Because the moment I confessed to you it would turn into a mess!!" You see their shocked faces as they slowly looked at each other. When did this situation turn into a soap opera? "I've been in love with you too dumbasses for a long time now and I know it's dumb but " In that moment you feel a pair of lips on yours. They're soft and they don't push. You're left there, shocked, as the face backs away and you can see better those deep green eyes. "You can't even begin to understand how long I've waited to hear that Y/n" Oh God! Oh! Did Dean just...he just did. You felt like hugging someone to death. " I'm sorry to burst your bubble here boy toy but you got competition. If Y/n will have me, believe me I'll try my hardest to get her to choose  me over anyone." "Then bring it feather duster!" "Guys! I'm not a trophy! " " What about this, we give you...three dates with each and then you choose. Of course, you don't have to do anything, or you can just choose me, but..!" "What if I already know?" You see their eyebrows rise in worry and anxiety. There's a tension in the room so thin you can cut with little children's scissors. "Both?" you close yourself like waiting for a punch. Dean looks at you with confusion. " you know...poly?...non-monogamous..?" Minutes later and they are still looking at each other astonished. From the archangel's side the idea wasn't new, but a relationship with the guy he killed like on a Tom and Jerry's episode sounded like the worst shit ever. Not was he obnoxious but his stubbornness reached skies! For Dean it was more of weirded out by the concept of sharing a partner with someone else.He was already jealous as it is and Gabriel had been driving him nuts for all the time he'd known him. But of course they would be willing to try if it meant getting to kiss you again. When they both nodded, you got a bit closer and looked at each others eyes for a moment. "I need you to be sure. Because in this kind of stuff there needs to be talking, and we all know how you are the two most likely people to keep everything bottled up." They both threw a bitchface of denial, before looking at the other and letting it drop down. Y/n was right, they were both possessive and jealous guys, which made the whole deal even more difficult. "We want to try. But before we set some rules and shit, I want one thing" Gabe approached wearing that playful smirk that promised so much. " A kiss." So you jumped on top of him with laughter and gave him a deep kiss.
A yawn made Sam aware of your entrance to the kitchen. Your hair as always in a mess that hanged on every direction possible. But, unlike other mornings, soon after you crossed the door, Gabriel and his brothers entered and gave you both a peck on your cheeks. Gabriel snapped a mirror for you and helped soothe your mess while Dean handed both of them cups of coffee and messed your hair up again. By the time you all sat down, Sam had a face of *can anyone fill me in?* . "Hey little brother, good morning. This is my girlfriend Y/n." "Yo, Sammikins! Remember that hot piece of ass that lives with you? She's my new gf." "So...okay. Good for all of you. Just... don't keep me up at night. I don't need to know what kind of shit you two can pull together"

Archangels x reader part 1
NOT FINISHED BECAUSE IM LAZY!
Note:smut and my first time writing
You here your door bell go off and you being paranoid and grab a gun slowly goin to the door. You open and see something you didn't want to. Chuck and four very angry looking archangels. "Hello (y/n) nice to see you." Chuck said trying to avoid his sons. "Why are you here Chuck?!" You ask very angrily. "Well you see I just defeated my sister and convinced my sons to help me but..." . "But what!" You exclaim making Gabriel flinch. "Well you see after dad here conned us into helping him defeat Amara she made us human." Huffed Lucifer angrily. "(Y/n) please make sure they don't do anything stupid sense I would turn them back but I am to weak." Chuck pleaded sincerely. You could see how desperate he was. You put a hand on your chest and took a deep breath. "Only if there ok with it." ." Do we really have a choice." Michael growled. "Great! I'll be back soon." Chuck said happily. And with that he was gone. "Umm so I'll show you your rooms I guess..?" You say shyly. "We're not fools we can do our selfs." Raphael growled glaring at you. You quickly got out of the way. The truth was you being so shy and timid they scared you.
(Time skip since because first time writer)
Ok all you had to do is sneak past them. You couldn't cancel on your boyfriend, Jamison again. You creak the door open slightly you could see into the living room Michael and Raphael were watching tv, Gabe was playing on his phone, and Lucifer was reading. "Ok you can do this (y/n) just sneak past them." You thought to yourself. You slowly but surely made your way down the hall. Ok you got there quicker then expected now all you had to do was sneak behide the couch. Should be easy you thought you thought wrong. "Were are you going." Asked Raphael still sounding pissed. "Umm to hang out with some friends?" You answered being pretty sure the saw through your lie. Really you were going to break up with Jamie you didn't like him anymore but you strangely, liked the archangels even if they did scare you which only turned you on more. "Fair enough." Gabe said eyeing you some sort of prey.
Another time skip because driving is boring unless your having sex
"Oh hey darling how's it going." Said Jamison. "Look Jamison I know this is early but there is a reason but there's a reason why we're at the park." You say. "Was is it love?" Asked Jamison worried. "Jamison were over I'm sorry it just wasn't gonna work." You say. You run away trying not to have to deal with him. "WHAT DID I DO." He shouts because he's so far behind you he try to run after you. But your already at your car. You didn't care you were speeding. Was breaking with him a mistake? It's not one of the archangels will ever like you back. You guess you if you like someone else while in a relationship you weren't ever truly happy. When you got home home and walked in not caring if they saw you. "What's up with you?" Asked Lucifer annoyed from you stomping. "I just broke up with my boyfriend." You say casually. "I thought you were hanging with friends?" Questioned Raphael. "Uhhh." Shit you completely forgot about your lie. "(Y/n) tell us the truth now." Michael demanded. "Hello brothers, (y/n)." You heard Cas teleport just in time. "What do ya need Cas?" You ask politely. "Dad demanded I turn back my brothers to their normal state." Huffed Castiel. "Finally." Gabriel said." Finally." Raphael stated. "Look let's just get this over with." Cas said sounding exhausted. Suddenly a flash bright light appeared and you open your eyes to a very embrassed Castiel. Annddd OH SHIT THE archangels are naked. "I-I-I think I'll go now.". You ran to your room. "Where ya going sugar." Gabe said appearing behind you turning you around to face him. He was clearly not ashamed. "U-u-uhh w-well i keen umm." "We know you like us." Lucifer said behind you

Rocking the Boat 8
Supernatural
A/n: AU Story
Link to Chapter 7
Words: 2,147
Pairings: Gabriel x Reader/Dean x Cas
_______
For the first two weeks after the “Michael” incident, you spent most of the time in bed. Whenever you got up, Gabriel was carrying you back to bed.
“Gabe, I need to get up and move. You fixed me. I’m good.”
“Well, you were the one that decided to take on an archangel. If you would have just listened to what I told you…”
You rolled your eyes as Gabriel sat down on the edge of the bed. This was getting old! Fast!
Crawling to the edge of the bed, you wrapped your arms around Gabriel and snuggled your face into his shoulder.
“Come on, Gabe. I have two dads. I really don’t need a third one here. I get why you are mad. I’m sorry...I just lost my temper when Michael started running his mouth. So mistakes were made and I probably shouldn’t have called Michael a girl or quoted Dirty Harry movie quotes at him…”
You felt relieved when Gabriel laughed. He took your hand in his and placed a kiss to your palm.
“I would have paid money for it to be this universe’s version of Michael and to see his face. Y/n, if you saw how you looked in that bed with all of those monitors...I don’t want to see that again.”
You felt guilty now. In all of the madness that happened, you really hadn’t thought about how the whole thing had to be for Gabriel, Dean, and Cas. You were so annoyed about them not treating you like an equally capable hunter that worrying about your safety seemed like the last thing on the earth.
“Trust me, Gabriel. I won’t be going after him alone. However ...I was not initially looking for him. Michael was the one held up in a ghost hotel. Seems a bit morbid, eh?”
Gabriel rolled his eyes.
“Very fitting if you asked me.”
There was a brief moment of silence between the two of you until Gabriel quickly flipped you over. He grabbed your thighs and pulled them apart enough to get between your legs.
“Now, enough of me acting like your dad and more of me being your boyfriend.”
An hour later, Gabriel lay watching you sleep against his chest. Things were slowly beginning to return to normal. Normal was good! Gabriel closed his eyes and leaned back into the pillow. He was more than happy to enjoy the post-romantic bliss in silence.
A soft knock on the door pulled made Gabriel’s open. He considered making whoever was on the other side of the door disappear. After deciding that it was maybe something important Gabriel quickly pulled on his jeans and walked to the door.
Dean stood on the other side and frowned immediately when Gabriel opened the door shirtless.
“Before you even tell me, GROSS and I don’t want to know. You need to come out here. Cas and I need to talk to you about something.”
Gabriel rolled his eyes.
“We just got finished making love for your information.”
Dean winced.
“Dude, I said that I didn’t want to know!”
Feeling very pleased with himself, Gabriel grabbed his shirt and check to make sure that you were still sleeping. He pressed a soft kiss to your forehead and walked into the library.
His smug expression quickly vanished the moment that he saw Kali sitting at the table.
“What the hell?”
Gabriel snapped. Kali looked as equally as surprised.
“Faked your death, did you? Yet another one of the archangel Gabriel’s fabulous lies.”
Dean stood up.
“Okay, let's not get carried away with the insults. I don’t my insurance policy will cover what the two of you can do. Gabriel, Kali is here because she needs our help. I agreed to help her so I need you to keep your shit together.”
Gabriel was at a total loss for words for a moment. When he recovered, he started laughing.
“Did you think about your daughter in all of this? You know that she doesn’t do well with stuff like this. Hell, I don’t want Kali near me.”
“I can hear.”
Kali said sweetly. Gabriel scowled at her as Sam stepped in.
“Cas is going to take Y/n to New York on a little bit of a vacation. By the time that she gets back, Kali should be gone and everything will be okay.”
Gabriel groaned.
“When has your plans ever worked out the way that you hoped? Also lying to Y/n is pretty shitty. This is why she was mad at us before. We were treating her like a child. This is just going down the same old road.”
Dean held a hand up.
“Stop. Everything will be just fine”
Gabriel rolled his eyes and turned to walk back into the bedroom.
“I’m not being any part of this.”
“You’re already part of this!”
Dean said calmly. After hearing your door close, Dean turned back to Kali.
“He’s such a joy to have around.”
Kali raised an eyebrow and took a sip of the martini that she made appear.
“And you let him date your daughter?”
Kali smiled at the grossed-out expression on Dean’s face. Clearly, there was no “letting” to it. He had no choice in the matter. That is what amused Kali so much about the whole arrangement! Dean was clearly just being drug along to make sure that his child was well taken care of.
Meanwhile,
Gabriel walked back into the bedroom trying not to pull his hair out! This had to be the worst thing that could possibly happen! His ex-girlfriend shows up and now here you were, the new girlfriend, who would probably be pissed over all of this!
The realization that you had actually met Kali hit Gabriel like a brick to the stomach. You had been there that night at the Elysian Field hotel and probably had a strong dislike for the pagan goddess.
“Hell!”
Gabriel muttered as Cas stepped into the room. One look at his brother told Gabriel that Cas didn’t like this any more than he did. Cas looked at put out with the idea of “lying” to you again but he knew that there was no point in arguing.
Cas walked to your side of the bed. He leaned down and gently touched your shoulder.
“Y/n. Wake up.”
You eyes opened slowly.
“Cas, what’s wrong?”
Cas forced a smile. If he could just keep you under the impression that everything was good....this might be easier.
“I have a surprise for you. We, you and I, are going to New York for a week. Your father got some tickets for some of those shows that people see.”
You frowned and set up slowly.
“We are going to New York? Is something going on here?”
Cas shook his head.
“No. You have been trapped in the bunker for some time and need some fresh air. I wanted to do something special with you.”
This was totally unexpected! You focused your attention on Gabriel. He stood on the other side of the room glaring at the floor.
“Is Gabriel coming?”
Cas looked up meeting his brother’s eyes. Gabriel mentally cursed again before speaking. As much as he didn’t want to help Kali with anything the realization that the quicker her issues got resolved then the quicker that she would be gone.
“Not this time, baby. I am staying here to help your father with a case. I’ll be here waiting for you when you get back. I’ll miss you, sweet cheeks.”
Gabriel flashed you an innocent smile. He could only pray that you bought it! When you smiled and went to the closet in search of a suitcase, Gabriel knew that at the moment he was in the clear.
After you left with Cas, Gabriel walked into the library. He needed to get his mind off of all the bull shit that was happening in his world at the moment. Kali had to be gone by the time that you got back. The pagan goddess wasn’t going to ruin his one source of happiness!
“So you and the human girl?”
Gabriel down the shot of whiskey that Dean had politely handed him. He turned to face Kali. The goddess sat at the table with a glass of wine in front of her.
“Yeah, Y/n and I are together. Glad you could figure that out.”
Kali smiled.
“I am surprised that Dean hasn’t stabbed you yet. He doesn’t seem like the type to let his daughter run around.”
Gabriel swallowed back the fit of rage that was beginning to build inside of him.
“Yeah, well he hasn’t.”
Kali was quiet for a moment as she pondered all of the potential questions that she could ask her former lover.
“You haven’t done anything stupid, have you? What a disaster if you got her pregnant or something.”
Dean held a hand up.
“We don’t say that word!”
Gabriel rolled his eyes.
“Of course not! I stop that from happening.”
Dean stood up, shaking his head. He wanted no further part of this conversation. Knowing that you had sex with Gabriel on regular bases was enough to make Dean want to barf! He felt at least safer knowing that Gabriel was doing something constructive!
After Dean walked out, Gabriel glared back at Kali.
“Just stay out of my way!”
One week later…
Gabriel couldn’t have been happier to have you back home! The past week he spent most of his time avoiding Kali at all costs. He dreaded you finding out that Kali was at the bunker. That was going to be one awkward conversation but that would come later. Gabriel would charm the pants off of you! Hopefully, that would cushion the blow of Gabriel’s ex-lover being in the same place.
The moment you stepped off into the terminal, Gabriel was relieved to see that you were smiling.
“She’s in a good mood. Good!”
Gabriel thought as Dean stepped out. He expected you to come to him first but instead, you practically dove right in Gabriel’s arms. Dean’s eyes met Cas. The angel walked over and smiled.
“It's good to see you, Dean. Have things at the bunker ...been taken care of?”
Dean put a hand on the back of his head.
“Not really. We are just going to have to tell Y/n the truth.”
Cas nodded.
“When should we tell her? She looks ...busy.”
Dean regretted looking in your direction. You stood wrapped in Gabriel’s arms. The two of you were kissing like it had been fifty years since your last meeting.
“Do you think they are going to try to have sex right here...in front of everyone?”
Cas managed to get out. Dean winced.
“Hey! You two...knock it off would you?”
You, meanwhile, slowly broke your mouth away from Gabriel’s.
“Hi dad.”
You said with a smile before going to Dean for a hug.
“Have a good time?”
Dean asked. You nodded with a smile before going back to Gabriel.
“We had a great time.”
Dean and Gabriel exchanged a brief nod as you picked your bags up.
“I am so ready to get back home!”
You, blissfully unaware of what happened while you were away, went to get your bags. All you wanted at the moment was to take a nice hot shower and curl up with Gabriel.
Gabriel glanced over his shoulder to where Dean stood muttering quietly with Cas.
“Well, let's hope that her good mood lasts when she gets home.”
Dean nodded.
“Everything is going to be fine! We will just sit Y/n down and explain that we are doing our jobs. There is nothing going on between Kali and yourself. She has nothing to worry about.”
Gabriel frowned. Was Dean just talking to be talking? Did he really believe the shit that just came out of his mouth? There would be no way that you would take this “well!” You were going to be pissed and there would be hell to pay!
“Do you know your daughter at all? Because I sure as hell do! The girl that I love is going to be ready to kick both of us in the balls! I didn’t even fucking do anything this time!”
Dean blinked.
“This is where you come in Casanova. Without us hearing, woo the pants off of her on the way home. Give her a bunch of cheesy promises that you can keep.”
Gabriel sighed.
“Fine but when this blows up in our faces...I am saying I told you so!”

Fix You 5
A/N: drama and stuff
Link to Chapter 4
Words: 2, 957
Pairings: Gabriel x OFC
____________
Molly walked outside trying to breathe. Her mind was going in a thousand different directions. All directions, however, seemed to go back to Gabriel. Did he mean what he said? Maybe Jack was right. Maybe Gabriel was just talking out of frustration. That was such an easy thing to do when flustered! Molly knew that well!
But what if he wasn't?” What if Gabriel really wanted nothing to do with her and ignored her form there on out? They hasn't bonded after all so he really owed her nothing? He could dust his hand off, walk away, and feel no obligations. Molly on the other hand, knew that there would be no dusting of her hands. She would forever, be haunted by the archangel! It would be hard from going to being loved and adored for the first time in her life to be lonely and forgot about again!
Looking back toward the bunker, Molly knew that she wouldn't be entirely alone and forgotten about. She knew that Sam, Dean, Jack, and Cas would be more than happy to have her around. They would be the ones that would object to her plan of leaving. Dean, especially, he would probably have a fit!
Molly stood quietly for a moment as she considered her next move. Should she stay or go? The positive: she would have friends. The negative: she would have to see Gabriel until he was well enough to be on his way...whenever that would be.
“Fuck it. I'm gone.”
Molly growled before turning and walking off in the foggy twilight.
Inside...
Gabriel lay across Molly's bed looking angrily at the wall. He had half expected for her to come in after him to try to talk everything out. Gabriel knew that he should have cooled his heels and talked to Molly. He should have told her why that he didn't want her  to be a hunter. Whether she would listen or not would be another story. Just like he said earlier no one listened to him so why would she now?
Rolling on his back, Gabriel sighed. He was more miserable now than he had been before he started talking. Before Molly came into his life, Gabriel struggled with what was going on in his mind. Molly walked into his life and all of the nightmares from his past was gone.
Now here he was laying in their bed stressing over the fact that she wanted to be a hunter. Gabriel rubbed his hands over his face. The thought of her running after some monster that he couldn't protect her from made him sick to his stomach. If was at full archangel strength then it would be no big deal! Gabriel could just follow Molly around and let her do her thing. If a situation got too rough then he could vaporize said monster.
“I've got to talk to her.”
Gabriel muttered before walking out of the bedroom. Walking back into the living room Sam and Dean looked up from their TV dinners. Dean sighed.
“Damn it Gabriel did you have to go and piss her off? Molly was supposed to fix us turkey and dressing. Now we have to eat Marie Callender's turkey and dressing.”
Gabriel's golden eyes narrowed.
“Well I am incredibly sorry. Now were is Molly?”
Dean pointed to the door.
“Went outside. Since you two are like kaput can I date her?”
Cas, who was sitting quietly in the corner, gave Dean a cold glare.
“Now is not the time for that.”
Gabriel's lip twitched as he snapped his fingers resulting in Dean flying across the room into the wall. Cas quickly stood blocking Gabriel's view of Dean.
“Gabriel I am glad to see that your grace is returning however, knocking Dean crazy isn't going to change your current predicament with Molly. I suggest that you go tend to her.”
Gabriel glared at his younger brother for a few moments.
“Yes commander Spock.”
Gabriel turned and walked out of the bunker. Walking out into the cool night air Gabriel tired to think of something to say to Molly. Maybe an old fashioned “I'm sorry I was a douche” would be enough?
“Molly? Sugar, where are you?”
Gabriel kept his voice as kind as possible.
“Come out darling and we can talk about this whole you being a hunter thing. I promise I won't loose my shit again.”
When she didn't respond Gabriel slowly began to walk around looking through the dark trees.
“I mean it Molly. If you want to be a hunter I will go along with it...even if you want to wear that tacky flannel those guys live in. We can work something out.”
Hearing a crunch Gabriel looked down seeing a small neatly folded piece of paper under his foot.  He reached down opening the paper to see Molly's message written in perfect Enochian.
“Good bye”
Dean was busy trying to con Sam into giving his his crusty dessert when Gabriel came storming back inside.
“Get off of your asses and come on!”
Sam and Dean looked at each other clearly confused as Gabriel started pacing angrily. Both knew that if he was at full strength they and the bunker would probably be cleaned from the planet. Dean glanced at Sam before elbowing him in the side. The last thing that Dean needed to do was antagonize the archangel. With a sigh Sam stood.
“Uh Gabriel....what are you talking about?”
Gabriel turned.
“Molly is gone. I am going to find her. You two better just stay here. You will only be in my way.”
Dean stood.
“Molly is gone and you think I am going to sit here on my ass? I don't think so! Gabe you aren't the only one who cares about Molly here.”
Gabriel glared at Dean a few moment taking in everything the eldest Winchester said.
“Fine!”
Meanwhile....
Molly sat at the bar with a drink in front of her. She had yet been able to put together how humans drank so much. She had drank two drinks and neither provided any comfort or numbing. Maybe it was the angel in her preventing her from fully enjoying the booze or she just found it nasty? Molly made a mental note that if she ever saw Dean again she would ask how in the world he drank the shit?
After a few moments of silence the bar door opened, and in walked none other than Balthazar. “Great!” Molly muttered as Balthazar clearly saw her. A few moment later his cologne hit her as he sat down. Balthazar didn’t say anything for a moment as he took in his daughter’s appearance. She had changed her blond hair to copper red and was wearing way more make up than he had ever seen on her. Her pretty face was frowning bitterly into the drink in front of her. “Answer me a question sweetheart what are you doing here? And where exactly is Gabriel? I don’t really want to deal with him tonight either. Mixed with alcohol I am sure he isn't any more pleasant at the time being.” Molly shrugged. “Hell if I know! Probably back at the bunker whining about something. I doubt he even knows that I’m gone.” Balthazar snapped his fingers and a parenting book appeared on the bar in front of him. “Are you fighting?” Balthazar asked. “Uh yeah!” Molly snapped. Balthazar nodded eagerly and then thumbed through the pages of the book. He read quietly for a moment clearly thinking about what he wanted to say. Molly shook her head. She was going to give Balthazar the benefit of the doubt. He was after all, the one that came to her “First boyfriend...break up...ah here we go! There there sweet pea everything is fine. He didn’t realize what he had.” Molly rolled her eyes in frustration. “Balthazar I’m not 14. Thanks for trying though.” “I’ll go talk to him if you would like.” Molly again shook her head. Balthazar looked relived that Molly hadn't accepted his offer to go chat with the archangel. As powerful as Balthazar was he knew that Gabriel could take him out with his hands behind his back. Looking back to Molly, Balthazar again got that strange feeling of awkwardness that he had when he realized that Gabriel and Molly were together. Archangel or not, Gabriel was ten times older than Balthazar and the angel couldn't and didn't want to wrap his mind around how much older he was than Molly.
“No. Just leave him be. Besides he’s going to have to figure everything out. I am not apparently able to he...” Molly stopped talking when he realized that Balthazar was silently flirting with some bar tramp. Sitting quietly for a moment, Molly turned to Balthazar fully. “Hey!” When Balthazar snapped out of his world and looked back to his daughter; Molly turned to the bar tramp. “Do you mind lady? Oh by the the way this is my dad. Apparently we come to the bar to pick up chicks together.” The woman blinked a few times before hurrying away. Molly looked back to Balthazar. “I’m not here to watch you get your game on!”
Balthazar groaned before looking back Molly.
“Well what do you want to do?”
Molly smirked.
“Well when I am sad I like to karaoke to Celine Dion songs.”
Balthazar froze before blinking a few times.
“There is where I draw a line! I don't karaoke and I will not sing Celine Dion now or ever! I bloody unsunk the Titanic so I would never have to hear her annoying voice ever again! I did the world a favor then Sam and Dean had to ruin it all!”
Molly laughed under her breath.
“Okay okay I get it! I was just kidding. Can I ask you a serious question?”
Balthazar nodded. He wouldn't say it but he was glad that the conversation of Celine Dion  had ended.
“Of course, darling.”
Molly took a breath.
“I'm going to be a hunter. Do you think I am crazy?”
Balthazar was quiet a moment before bursting out laughing.
“Oh love you are funny! You are going to be one of those flannel wearing hunters? Sweetheart your much too good for that. Not to mention I think I may have had one of those heart attacks the mortals talk about.”
When Molly didn't respond, Balthazar froze.
“You're really serious about all of this?”
Molly nodded.
“Totally. I personally think that I would make a good hunter. After all I have angel in my blood and word on the street is nephilim are more powerful than the angel that sired them. You were a powerful angel. I could do a lot of good for this world. There is also the little issue with keeping Jack safe and defeating Lucifer. Sam and Dean need all the help that they can get.”
Balthazar didn't move for a few moments. His blue eyes were wide as he processed his daughter’s words.
“Is this why Gabriel is not with you? Let me guess you told him and he had a fit?”
Molly adjusted in her seat.
“It doesn't matter how Gabriel responded. He doesn't believe in me and obviously neither do you. It appears all angels are all the same.”
Balthazar snapped his fingers making everyone in the bar freeze. His eyes narrowed on Molly.
“Let me enlighten you on something little lady. Us angels, have seen more horrible things then you will probably be able to imagine! Gabriel and I have seen and dealt with some things that would strike the biggest amount of fear possible into you. That is why Gabriel is objecting. He has seen hell. As for me, bloody hell Molly you can't just come into someone's life, make them love you, then just check out! You just don't go on some crazy death quest!”
Molly appeared stunned at Balthazar's outburst.
“Balthazar, Dad, I'm not doing this to hurt you or Gabriel. I want to help people.”
Balthazar sighed.
“Well go down to the children's hospital and heal some sick kids.”
Molly was quiet another moment.
“It won't be the same. Dad, Jack saved me when I needed help the most. If it wasn't for Jack I would have never met Sam, Dean, Cas, Gabriel, or you. I would be the lonely little girl that kids used to throw birdseed at. I want to protect my friends.”
Balthazar sighed putting his hands over his face a moment before standing up and taking a shot of whiskey out a frozen man's hand.
“Cheers man.”
Balthazar muttered before downing the shot and looking back to his daughter.
“Fine. You've made your point. I'll support you on whatever you want but you must promise me something.”
Molly nodded.
“Anything.”
Balthazar walked to her looking at her with sad eyes.
“If you get into trouble, call me. Don't try to be brave and face something like Lucifer alone.”
Molly slide off of the bar stool before wrapping her arms around Balthazar and hugging him tightly. Balthazar stood motionless a moment before hugging her back.
“I will. I promise”
Balthazar nodded.
“Better get going then little one.”
Molly smiled before walking out the door leaving the angel looking after her with a nervous frown.
Molly was gone maybe half an hour when Sam, Dean, and Gabriel came bursting in to the bar that was now empty. Both of the Winchester's were clearly surprised to see Balthazar sitting elegantly at a table downing booze.
The angel turned looking at his company.
“Ah look who it is. Only half an hour late.”
Gabriel frowned, looking livid.
“Where is Molly?”
Balthazar looked over his shoulder.
“She has legs and knows how to use them apparently.”
Gabriel stood looking at at the angel getting a little more annoyed by the question.
“Balthazar I don't have time for this.”
Balthazar stood looking furiously at Gabriel.
“Well I don't have time to face the fact that my daughter is on some death mission. I wouldn't have to do this if you would have showed her some bit of bloody compassion.”
Gabriel didn't back down instead he stepped up close to Balthazar ready to smite him. Would he be able to? Hell, he didn't know but he was more than willing to try.
“Compassion? Really? You want me to be compassionate toward her?! I am trying to find her to save her and you are giving me some bull shit speech on what I should be doing!”
Balthazar blinked.
“Well if you would have claimed her you wouldn't be playing Sherlock Holmes with these two”
Gabriel growled before pouncing at Balthazar and landing a single punch in the angels face. Balthazar toppled over the table that he was standing in front of going head first into the poured concrete floor. As he lay on the ground all he could think of was how the archangel was getting stronger!
Meanwhile, Sam and reached over yanking Gabriel back.
“Gabriel! Stop! You too Balthazar! You two beating the shit out of each other is not going to bring Molly back. Now we need to calm down and get our heads in the game! Understood?”
Balthazar stood still rubbing his cheek. Gabriel, glowering at Sam nodded as well.
“Fine.”

After Gabriel stormed out of the room everyone sat in dead silence. Luna sighed sitting down against on the dusty old couch. Lucifer meanwhile, was looking at everyone in his room with a smile.
“So are we going to draw straws to see who is going to talk to him? Personally I don’t want to draw straws with you people.”
Dean looked up.
“Well there is the door Satan.”
Lucifer looked highly offended.
“You think I am going to go off and leave my little brother when hes all offended and upset?”
Sam rolled his eyes.
“Didn’t bother you too badly when you stabbed him.”
Luna groaned as she stood up and walked into the kitchen away from everyone. Standing by the sink she looked into the busy city street. Luna knew that there had to be some kind of spell on the house preventing people from seeing they were living there.
“Are you okay?”
Luna turned to see Zoe standing in the doorway looking worried. She nodded, trying to hide any clue that she was close to tears.
“Yeah….no.”
She said finally. Zoe walked closer to her god daughter before motioning to the table.
“Sit down dear.”
Luna did what she was told before sitting down while Zoe started moving around the kitchen to make a cup of tea.
“Zoe you don’t have to make me tea.”
Zoe didn’t look at Luna as she snapped her fingers making the old gas range come on as if it had just came from the appliance store.
“Nonsense. You’re upset. You need tea.”
Luna didn’t argue further. This was what Zoe did. Whenever Luna was upset with something Zoe was all about fixing tea.
Zoe turned looking at Luna as she twirled a strand of blond hair around her finger.
“You’re looking well.”
Zoe said casually. Luna looked up.
“Yeah, I’m good. Well I was up until now. Now isn’t too grand.”
Zoe sat down at the table.
“It seems Gabriel is taking good care of you.”
If Luna wasn’t so internally miserable she would have been pleased to see that her god mother was trying. Zoe smiled sadly. She didn’t like seeing the worry in the girl’s eyes.
“Luna I don’t want you going out there to face Raphael alone. You had a very good plan and point but I don’t want it to be you”
Luna rolled her eyes.
“Aunty, you of all people know it is going to have to be me that gets him where we need him. Raphael isn’t going to come out for you all. He won’t come out for Gabriel or Lucifer either. I can do this. I just wish you would understand that.”
“Gabriel showed you how to do that?”
Luna nodded.
“I can do a lot more things. I wish you would have some faith in me.”
Zoe reached out squeezing her hands.
“I’m trying. I really am. So what all have you been up to since you have been away. I want to know everything but the details of your love life. Somethings are better left unsaid.”
Luna chuckled at the grossed out expression on Zoe’s face.
“We’ve been visiting a lot of places. Places that I have wanted to go since I was a kid. We’ve been to Paris, Italy, Australia, and a lot more. By the way Koala’s are not as cuddly in person.”
Zoe chuckled at that.
“Sounds like Gabe is treating you like a princess. Please tell him that I call him Gabe too. I love to see that expression on his face when someone calls him that.”
Luna stood, kissing the top of Zoe’s head.
“He does and I’ll let you call him that yourself. Speaking of Gabriel, I better go talk to him. Angry archangel isn’t near as fun as happy trickster.”
Zoe shrugged.
“The people he is tricking may not agree.”
Luna smiled walking upstairs to the bedroom that she and Gabriel was sharing. He stood, just like she expected, starring out the window with a frown on his face that reminded her too much of Lucifer.
“Can we talk?”
She asked softly. Gabriel’ golden eyes drifted in her direction but he didn’t smile like he typically did when he saw her.
“If it’s about you using yourself as bait for my brother the answer is still no. If it is something other then that I am open to the conversation.”
Luna sighed.
“Gabriel, you know this idea will work. I’ve already said you can be there. You won’t be far away and could intervene in an instant. I know you don’t want to kill your brother…I get that.”
Gabriel held his hand up.
“Screw Raphael! I’ll kill him dead.”
Luna tiled her head to the side reminding Gabriel of Cas.
“Then what is the problem?”
Gabriel rolled his eyes,
“You’re safety is the problem Luna. I don’t care if I am standing there holding your hand. I don’t want you near Raphael.”
Luna shook her head beginning to get annoyed.
“Then what are we going to do? We are just wasting time sitting here. The more time we waste the closer we are getting to that vision that Luci showed Sam and Dean about what could happen in the future. You’re going to go evil just like Raphael.”
Gabriel froze before muttering shit under his breath. He turned walking to Luna pulling her into his arms.
“How did you find out about that?”
Luna pulled away ignoring the look of hurt in her lover’s golden eyes.
“I’ve known about it for years. Luci showed me too. Obviously there will be some differences with my mother being dead but I don’t want to see you go that way Gabriel.”
Gabriel made a mental note to talk to Dean and Cas about everything they told Luna then to have a word with his older brother. This wasn’t something that he really wanted her to know.
“Luna, that was just a vision. That doesn’t mean it will have. You know the future is subjective. Besides I have no friggin interest in joining up with Raphael. Do you realize how boring that would be? His walls have to yawn. Luna we will take care of Raphael. You don’t have anything to worry about. In the mean time I want you to promise me that you won’t go looking for him.”
Luna nodded, feeling a little better.
“I promise.”
Gabriel looked relived at that as he pulled Luna back into his arm.
“Goodie. Now I can stop being so damn serious!”
3 months later….
Things did go smoothly for a small amount of time. Sam and Dean went back to hunting and was gone from time to time. Zoe, Cas, and Gabriel had gone off on a lead to Raphael’s latest catastrophe leaving Luna alone. She would see her family when someone would pop in to check on her. That was about it. After being alone for a month things started to get old fast.
The day her birthday rolled around Luna was even more annoyed than ever. Dean had called to wish her a happy birthday with the reminder of,
“Stay home. We’ll do something special when we all get home. Don’t go anywhere with Balthazar and if he bring up the Titanic tell him to shut up.”
Zoe and Cas had checked in by angel radio to say a quick I love you and happy birthday but nothing from Gabriel. At first Luna felt like she was being a spoiled brat for feeling so miserable. Her family was out risking their lives to make sure a threat that was affecting her greatly never laid a hand on her yet here she was moody because she was alone on her birthday. Shouldn’t she just sit down and watch a movie or something?
Around 8 pm, Luna received a call from the only friend that she really had outside of the family. Cami was one of the few humans that she had gotten used to. Luna met Cami when they were in middle school and Zoe was forcing her into taking piano lessons. Zoe and Cas were at first wary of her getting so used to a human who would have no understanding of how their family worked. It was Dean that convinced them that she did need some human contact outside of their little “family.” Cas only agreed to it as long as Cami’s memory could be modified into thinking they were just a normal family with no weirdness what so ever.
“Luna, I am home from college. We should totally go out for your birthday!”
Luna, at first, declined stating that she needed to stay home and study but eventually Cami’s begging got the best of her.
“Ok, fine. Zoe, Cas, and Dean are out of town for work. That definitely beats sitting home alone on my birthday.”
Cami eagerly agreed.
“Of course! Your sister works too much anyway!”
Luna smirked when she called Zoe her “sister.” That was the main story that she had agreed to use when Zoe, Cas, and Dean sat her down regarding her blooming friendship with the girl.
“Yeah, she does. Well where are we going anyway?”
Cami was quiet a moment before squealing.
“They have a new bar downtown? Wanna meet me there in half an hour?”
Luna knew that this was a bad decision. She knew that Gabriel would be angry but he didn’t know what was going on. He hadn’t checked in for a few days so what he didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him. As far as Cas and Zoe, if she just kept quiet on angel radio they wouldn’t know anything out of the ordinary was up.
Arriving at the bar, Luna looked around for Cami. She took extra care to make sure that she looked as human as possible. Living as an angel for the past few months had worn on her and now she would have to take care to act as human as possible. She could already hear Cas in her head.
“You have to be an angel or a human. Jumping back and forth is too risky. You can’t be both.”
“Luna!”
Her thoughts were interrupted when Cami came running to her.
“Cami!”
She squealed, again trying to be as much to her old herself as possible. Cami quickly wrapped her arms around Luna squeezing her into a tight hug.
“Look at you birthday girl! You look so pretty! How is your birthday?”
Luna took a breath before deciding to put all the issues in her life on hold and just enjoy the night.
Meanwhile back at home,
“Luna!! We are home! Surprise! You better like chocolate cake because Cas and I argued over it for 20 minutes!”
Zoe said, shooting her boyfriend a look. Cas shrugged incorrectly.
“This house is awfully quiet.”
Cas stated as he walked into the living room where the TV was paused on some show about honey bees. He internally smiled. Luna was definitely his child.
“Cas! She isn’t here!”
Zoe yelled from the kitchen. Cas quickly walked into the room looking at Zoe who was looking panicked. He closed his eyes trying to tap in on Luna’s location. Zoe meanwhile, was pacing doing the same thing.
“I am getting a lot of awful music.”
Cas stated as he rubbed his temples. Zoe froze in the middle of the kitchen when she found Luna’s lap top with the address to the bar still pulled up.
“Cas she is with Cami at some bar.”
Cas nodded.
“That explains the awful music.”
Zoe rolled her eyes.
“Yeah it does Mr. Homebody. Come on we have to get going.”
Cas titled his head.
“Should we tell Gabriel?”
Zoe sighed.
“Ugh yeah. Get a hold of him.”
Seconds later Zoe and Cas stood in the middle of the smokey bar. Cas winced at the loud music and horribly dressed people around him.
“What the hell is going on?”
Both Zoe and Cas turned to see Gabriel standing behind them looking ready to smite the world. Zoe shrugged.
“I thought you were supposed to be with her. It is her birthday and you are her boyfriend.”
Gabriel rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, I was ON a job! I told you what I was doing. Lucifer and I were onto something but here I am.”
Cas shook his head holding his hand up.
“This isn’t the time to argue…We need to find Luna.”
Zoe started looking around until she saw Cami at the bar. She motioned to Cas before walking over.
“Cami”
Zoe said the girl’s name as calmly as possible. Cami’s eyes widened when she turned seeing Cas and Zoe.
“Uh hi everybody”
She said as friendly as possible. From the look on Cas and Zoe’s face she knew that they were mad or panicked one. Why was another story. Cas quickly stepped forward.
“Where is Luna?”
Cami looked around the room.
“She was right over there talking to some dude.”
Gabriel’s frown, went if possible even angrier. If the situation was not so serious Zoe would have totally loved this moment.
“What dude?”
Zoe asked, making sure that Cami heard the urgency in her voice. Cami blinked nervously.
“Some guy with dark hair and eyes. I don’t know him. Oh god why was I born?”
Both Zoe and Cas exchanged looks knowing that they were overwhelming the poor girl. Cami never was one to do well with pressure.
“Cami it is fine. We just need to know where Luna is.”
Cas said gently. Gabriel meanwhile, turned stalking off done with the argument in front of him.
Luna, meanwhile, stood across the room totally not even noticing her family in the room. After drinking numerous shots of vodka she was finally beginning to feel something. The guy that had been chatting her up was yapping on and on about his job as a photographer. Luna nodded casually nodding her head.
“So does Gabriel know that you are here?”
Luna froze. Did that guy really just say that? His dark eyes watched her with a mirthful smile.
“You heard me correctly.”
He said with a cold voice. Luna looked up as the man turned into none other than Raphael. Holding back a scream, Luna swallowed as she looked around for Cami.
“Don’t worry. I’m not here to hurt your little human friend. I’m here for you.”
Luna frowned.
“Well today isn’t your day big boy. Tomorrow isn’t looking so good either. Why don’t you be a good boy and go kill yourself. You know what is going to happen to you.”
Raphael rolled his eyes.
“Come now child. Do you think that your little family is going to get one on me? I don’t think so.”
Luna, feeling her anger beginning to boil, was trying to hold herself from speaking any further.
“I’m going to kill you Luna. Just like I did your stupid mother after that I’m going to kill Zoe. You have all caused me nothing but problems.”
Upon hearing her mother’s name being said lunged at Raphael. Whether it be the shock of Luna doing something so stupid or the fact he was honestly shocked Raphael was caught of guard when she landed a punch right in his mouth. Raphael got to his feet quickly before reaching out and grabbing Luna by the throat.
“You like to feel powerful? Well let me show you powerful.”
His hand tightened on her throat.
“I can kill you with my bare hands and I plan to. I will take joy in watching the light leave your eyes.”
Luna swallowed doing what could to kick at the archangel. Gabriel was right. She wasn’t powerful enough to take this giant fucker down by herself.
“Let. Me. Go”
Luna chocked out as the world went black….
