Do you notice a trend... few know. She keeps most things close to the vest unless she knows/likes you. But once she lets you in, she's very forthcoming.

While she initially took it up just for her job, she has come to love all forms of photography.
Trystan is her first serious relationship. She never felt connected enough to anyone in the past to take that step. She had other relationships but viewed them more as friends with benefits. Unfortunately, her partners did not always feel the same way, so they didn't tend to last long.
Carolina always assumed the reason she didn't attach to people was because of the traumatic loss of her father. Or, I should say, everyone told her that was the reason why. Family, friends, and even her therapists. But Carolina knew this preceded the death of her father, so she was left confused. It wasn't until she came out as bisexual and became more involved with the queer community that she started to understand that she was demiromantic.
I'm sure I'll update as I get to "know" her more. This is my first playthrough.

Today is International Black, Latin and Caribbean Women's Day
Tereza de Benguela lived in the 18th century and was killed in an ambush. José Piolho's wife, she became Quilombo do Quariterê's queen, in Mato Grosso, when her husband died, and ended up proving to be a born leader: she created a local parliament, organized the production of weapons, the harvesting and planting of food and headed the manufacture of fabrics that were sold in nearby villages.
Teresa de Benguela's Day
In Brazil, since 2014, through Law nº 12.987, the 25th of July was established as the Black Woman and National Day of Tereza de Benguela, quilombola leader symbol of struggle and resistance of the black people.
“If for white women the idea of fragility marked their presence in history, for black women, in a diaspora context, our existence was also marked by characteristics that white women usually do not occupy, such as the possibility of leading a quilombo and a resistance military. The date rescues the protagonism of black women in Brazil”, says Raquel Barreto, historian and researcher. Doctoral student in history, specialist in the works of Angela Davis and Lélia Gonzalez and co-curator of the exhibition Carolina Maria de Jesus.
International Black Women's Day in Latin America and Caribbean was born in 1992 at a meeting of black women in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. They set the date and created a network to pressure the United Nations (UN) to take up the fight against racial and gender oppression.
"From Mexico and the Caribbean islands down, Latin American countries have a common constitution, which denies racism and are essentially racist, and are claiming it", explains Raquel Barreto, a Brazil for Brazilians, which will be shown at Instituto Moreira Salles in São Paulo in 2021.
In Brazil, for example, the black population corresponds to the majority, 54%, according to the IBGE. According to the Associação de Mujeres Afro, in Latin America and the Caribbean, 200 million people identify as Afro-descendants (including me, with proud). However, both in Brazil and abroad, this population, especially women, is also the one that suffers the most from violence. 😔
The black woman is, even today, the main victim of femicide, domestic and obstetric violence and maternal mortality, in addition to being at the base of the country's socioeconomic pyramid.
I hope the day is symbolic to raise awareness of the importance of doing something to protect our black Latin Caribbean women. For we are remembering today not as a celebration, but as a cry for help.
