— —★ Stan had found love as many do; by accident.
Carla “Hot Pants” McCorkle wouldn’t have even glanced his way if it weren’t for Stan punching the mugger who stole her purse. He had been young and going through an ‘awkward’ stage. He had a generous amount of chub around his middle, pimples dotted his complexion, and his shoulders sagged with teenage insecurity. Carla was a babe, and anyone who had eyes could see she was way out of his league.
However, it was by some way of luck that she became interested in Stanley. He had always chalked it up to punching the lights out of that mugger, but it was that night that had started their relationship.
Stan and Carla miraculously stayed together past the normal high school fling. Stan grew taller, lost some of his chub and acne, and developed a stronger jawline and some muscles. Meanwhile, Carla traded in her poodle skirt for a pair of high-waisted shorts. Stan would take Carla to see movies or get a milkshake at the drug store, or would take her for Sunday Drives where they would park on the overlook of the ocean. From there, they’d watch the sunset go down and make out in the front seat of the El Diablo. Even many years after they broke up, Stan would recall those memories as he tried to settle down for another lonely night in his car. While those memories were muddied with sadness, loneliness, and the knowledge of how their relationship ended, they still managed to bring a melancholy smile to his tired lips.
Carla had been his first love, as well as his first heart break. While he had been insecure in the start of their relationship, as time went by, and she stayed with him, he grew more comfortable and secure. That is, until he caught Carla in the arms of some long-haired, bell-boot wearing hippie. Blinded by heart break, Stan reacted with anger, breaking into this hippy, Thistle Downe’s van and drove it off the side of a cliff. It wasn’t long after that that he was forced to leave New Jersey after he was kicked out, and he didn’t hear from Carla again but even as the decades past, her memory never left him.

Well come on, we all know Carla "Hot Pants" McCorkle is/was the only girl for Stan. And most of the fandom is fairly certain that the only reason she left him was because Thistle (the guitar hippie) was a Siren. I still head canon that the Ford vs Manliness episode of that AU has Grunt Mabel trying to succeeding in getting Kid Stan and Carla hooked up, or at least interested in each other.
