semester is almost over. im dying
#my oc#rune#mori#i have a project due tomorrow and its finally scared me back into drawing#even though i should be working on this project but im SO SO SO TIRED#i went on an outing like 2 weeks ago the same week that i walked everywhere cause i was desperately#trying to get my taxes done but thats a different story but the point is i was walking a lot and i went on an outing where i stood all day#and then i had to go to class the very next day thinking i was fine but i wasnt.#and that same day after i walked across the city because i absolutely had to pick a thing up. i think the same week i met up with my mom#a couple of times but i was walking the whole way there. my point is that for 2 weeks straight i have been rigorously walking everywhere#and on my feet all the time with little breaks in between and my feet fucking hurt man#i need this semester to be OVER i need to sleep for a MONTH#but i cant because i have to scrape together SOME of this project and finals are next week#this class this project is for fucking sucks. all semester ive been teetering the line between pass and fail#and its not even my fucking fault. im so burnt out so i dont want to do this project. but i might fail if i dont#i need to at least demo it but i have like. one thing done and i dunno what to tell my TA about i#how do i tell my TA and prof that everything is too much for me so i absolutely could work on this project#my laptop is broken so im afraid to use it. the server kept going down last month so i was afraid to use that#so many stupid little things keep piling up and i'd sound really weird trying to explain why i cant do my work#because my desk is on the floor and it makes me really sad so no i cant do my hw. my fave candy has red40 in it so i had to stop eating it#but now i cant do my work because i was using it to help me focus on my hw. LIFE SUCKS BRO#anyway whatever happens. i cant wait to play video games again

have to send 2 packages today and pick one up and then i wanna draw... the sooner i get that done the better but i have to wait a while now before i can go. but im also getting a headache oughhhh whys the weather like it is
#i was getting rly into the painting yesterday#and i cant wait to finish it#but i was doing it as like. cooldown after workin on the animatic cause that is just merging togethet for me#every frame looks the same and im getting the proportions all wrong so i had to do something else or else id explode#i got like 31 pages done and i counted 45 before but theres def not just 45#now i have like 4 similar ones then 3 from a wider pov then at least 4 variants of one panel and then at least 3 more for part2 of that#and thats not even all theres a 3 frame part over some music and thats already over 45 and i havent even sketched out the actual final part#should have done it before this because now im just leaving it for the last but i dont know what to go for there. just gonna wing it#i could tie it to the previous chorus frames and make it similar or i could play with the variations from a couple lines back or work with#the 3 frame part which is gonna be in a different setting and stuff. nobody knows what im talking about and thats ok#i havent even listened to the song much now and i already had enough so when im gonna be editing it i will try to go strictly by timestamps#then have a couple final listens and then never touch it ever again#some frames i really like but the ones that are over the chorus i really dislike cause theyre closeups but not close enough like i wanted#hard to work with such simple characters on a bigger scale because theres no detail#also why i went with painting them. just under though i couldnt handle coloring over the lines even though it would help it greatly#whats blud waffling about#also ig its more of a storyboard animation but i just dont wanna call it either. i think animatic is an extremely broad term now#theres ones that are legit just storyboards and then theres ones that i wouldnt dare call animatic#like calling mona lisa a sketch. especially when its mostly animated#i cant do all that. mines gonna be just a powerpoint presentation#but its also not like a storyboard cause im fully painting the frames lol

Look i know its a rly dumb idea to try and set up a base in the middle of louisville buuuuuut i like being withing walking distance of things and i think it would be fun to try?
Now the question is... do i take my game where i have a nice base in muldraugh and try to move as much as i can over to lv or should i start a new game already there? Kinda wanna keep my things but also kinda wanna start new again...?
#i know i have too much shit and i cant possibly carry all of it over there#but also i hate leaving things behind and deciding what to take would be awful#then again i already put so much time into this game and i dont wanna waste it all!#mayyyybe i should try a separate game starting in lv to see how bad of an idea that rly is and then decide after?#hmmmmmmng#also where in lv do i wanna set up shop? cause i need access to some trees and if possible water but i dont want a huge base like#an entire apartment complex thats way too much#idk man#this is just what i do while i dont have much to work on rn... i think about my game and look up some locations and stuff#look muldraugh is technically big enough for me and everything but ive never been to lv and it sounds cool#i dont rly wanna live in the suburbs though cause thats just sad idk... although it is the sensible thing to do#ugh im almost done with work i cant wait to go home and play#mine#pz#ramble ramble

I see your 40k monthly listeners and I just wanted to say, there's a total of 6k people in the main Outer Wilds discord server - none of whom cared about this poll. :'D The one time I tried to bring it up there, it just went ignored. We mostly ran things from a much smaller discord, which only has 63 members. So I wasn't kidding when I said that the Outer Wilds community is small. For reference, there is a total of 250 fanfics in the entire Outer Wilds tag on ao3. That's it. We're really that small. Lobotomy Corp alone has 706.
You mentioned that the poll only reached the Outer Wilds community two days before it ended, but that's not really true - we were there from the beginning, we just kept rallying and rallying to somehow close the gap. It was the same people reblogging the poll again and again, to hopefully reach as many of their followers as they could. :'D That was all it was. No heroic infantry of the big community coming in at the last moment. Just a tiny community trying its best the whole way through.
I'm just sending this to put things into perspective. That's why I called the other two communities "big" - because in comparison, they sure seemed to be. I'm still sorry that someone from our community verbally attacked you, that definitely wasn't okay. I apologise on their behalf. But I figured that this might explain why they were so frustrated about the 2v1. :') I know it might seem otherwise, but Hatchling never had some huge community backing them.

I did get advice from Mx Narrative before starting the bracket because I had miscalculated how much the Outer Wilds fans were going to be rallying around their guy, and it definitely did help the brackets, but I guess I can see where the 2v1 makes things difficult!

holy shit. epson salt ACTUALLY works for carpel tunnel?!?! I just tried soaking my wrists in it, not even for that long yet, and my pain almost immediately started subsiding and by the end they were mostly fine??? the most fine in days?? magic? sorcery?? science??? what the fuck this is so exciting
#cant believe it took me two years to discover this but i will happily accept this now#had a bad flare up this week and none of my usual tricks were doing much so i dragged myself out to get this#AND IT WORKS???? SO WELL??????#i could cry.#literally just used a towel to apply it for not even 20 mins i cant wait to start a good system for this now omg omg omg#and it seems to last a bit too???#will have to practice this more to know for sure#but if this lets me be productive and function in less pain even in the smallest amount and perhaps even lets me play video games sometimes#...i will be the happiest fucking person on the planet#like im not in any pain after typing these tags!!!!#HELL YEAH

you know i mentioned last night that i realized only *after* i started rereading david copperfield that since i recently became an aunt, i was gonna see the story from a whole new angle and start relating more to betsey trotwood. i didn't even think about how at salem house i was gonna be poor mr. mell...
#i mean i didnt really think about mr. mell much because he's more of a minor character#he doesnt come back throughout david's life like steerforth or traddles or emily or agnes or#or or or all these other dozen major characters#in fact i only think of salem house as a minor part of the book. the shit we gotta get through to get to aunt betsey again#in a sense i cant wait to be done with it again#but oh my god reading about the rowdy schoolroom and how he's hardly managing to handle his stress#MEEEEE!!!!!! ME AN EDUCATOR#diana rereads david copperfield#literally just let me fucking play my flute badly in peace#you know i really have grown up a lot in the past 5 years bc all the adults used to just be caricatures to me#in the sense that all of dickens' characters are kind of caricatures. theyre exaggerated and silly#whether theyre supposed to be archetypal good or bad people.#because the way dickens uses hyperbole. sometimes it's just too true!#like the assholery of steerforth. how disingenuous but charming and persuasive he can be#that is SO true to how it feels to look up to older people as a young child. david copperfield's yielding to him is so realistic#david copperfield's own childish innocence throughout the early chapters seems comical but is emotionally true to how childhood feels.#these were the parts of the novel that resonated with me very deeply at 19. and they still do#but oh now. now i understand the position of the working adults. especially since i work w kids now how different it all feels.#and have worked w kids for several years too. but only about a year after reading dc. actually almost 2 years#im one of the bumbling incompetent adults. oh dear. oh lord.

god im tired
#had class at two then back to back exams#and was braindead and crying by the time i got back at like 7:15 so just played video games for a few hours#and now i need to start studying for diffeq on friday#god i cant wait till saturday#would say friday afternoon but of fucking course i have three different fucking assignments due friday 11:59#what fucker thought “yeah we'll just put strengths of materials and physics back to back then diffeq two days after”#and ofc it's “mEntAl hEalTh wEeK” at my school#so im just sitting here crying for the tenth time today over physics/strengths/diffeq#and the advisors are spamming “come to this three hour webinar about burnout”#like...really#fuck everything why the hell did i ever think i was smart enough for engineering#my senior self was like “ooh this is cool” about circuits and lil robots and power tools#and now im sobbing over free body diagrams#am entirely convinced electric fields are black magic bc none of that shit makes any sense#im just so tired like i spent hours studying for these exams#did 2-3 backexams for each got little sleep since sunday#and i fucked both of them up massively#course my professor was like “if you can do these you can do the exam”#and i did those problems easily the night before and was like okay! let's work on physics!#and then the exam hit me like a fucking freight train#i can't even do the basic shit like stay fully awake for all my classes#bc of course they only offer three of the engineering courses back to back to back starting at 8:30 in the fucking morning#and im fine in thermo but just start completely crashing during strengths and am just half dead in diffeq#accidentally put my head down during a five minute break once and woke up twenty minutes later 😭#i am not a morning person#starting at 10am is fine but 8:30am?#adrenaline gets me through the first hour but then im just dead

joins cloudclan as a refugee from dreamclan, as dreamclan had been overrun by a tyrannical leader
he's injured during his escape, so he spends his first few moons in cloudclan's medicine den
once he's healed he decides to become a medicine cat to heal from the cycle of violence and war and becomes faithstripe's med cat apprentice
he takes on mistypaw (later mistyghost) as an apprentice
while mistyghost is sick, he takes on another apprentice, hailpaw (later hailash)
his med cat mentor, faithstripe, dies in a fire
war on dreamclan begins
when both misty and hail are sick he takes on ANOTHER apprentice, pinepaw
he is found dead by the border with dreamclan
both misty and hail are fucked up in mourning so now only pinepaw, the literal apprentice, is left as the only medicine cat able to work, since she never had the time to properly bond with him as much as the other med cats
