I thought you'd appreciate a very cute baby gorilla I saw today at the Calgary Zoo! The mom looks like she's smoking.

Apparently she just had a tasty stick or something.

Fun fact! Gorillas chew bark and sticks as part of their dental hygiene routine. That stick is likely helping her keep her teeth strong and clean.

The other week I went to the Calgary Zoo to check and see how the animals were. I hadn't been since I was a kid.

The rescued Polar Bears were having the best time in the snow and came down to check out what was going on. Coming face to face with one was absolutely amazing.

I think I may visit again sometime. I do hope they expand the habitats further however. The newly built ones seem really good but some of the older enclosures seem like they need expanding. It seems like they are making a lot of improvements though and are striving to do as much for the animals as possible.
