Hey!! I saw and really liked the presentation you made recently on wtnv!! I just gave it a relisten this last month, and I noticed you mentioned that Carlos’ autism isn’t always handled well? I’ve never noticed that before- I was wondering if you could explain further? Thank you!!! 💚💚💚
hi! I wasn't personally the one who wrote that part of the presentation, but when I asked for some examples I was provided with the following (vaguely spoilers but not really!):
"I told Carlos he had to stop, but he insisted he had made a major breakthrough in his doorless fridge invention. "Cecil, this is so exciting," he said, bouncing up and down, like a child who wants a toy or needs to pee." - 158, The Heist
"Carlos, like a child on Santa’s lap, cooed and asked the old man for a super conducting super collider," - 169, The Whittler
No ill intent behind any of this, of course, but it's in quite poor taste to compare a grown autistic man to a child. If I or someone else remembers anything else, I'll probably reblog this with more. Like I said, no harm was meant but it still was not a great choice of words.

Sky
Tonya, on the other hand, looks just like the Viran woman that Black saw when she was collecting her letter. Her dress is a tight black pencil dress speckled with white dots. It looks like the night sky with stars and gives Tonya an ethereal look. She has sharp wings of eyeliner on each eye and her sharp cut, jaw-length, black hair is ever the same. She has a few accent pieces of silver earrings and rings to make the stars on her dress stand out even more.
Blush
“Yeah, it definitely would look better without the paint. But you still look stunning, Captain.” Lakoma adds, looking over Black with a small smile.
A light blush spreads spreads across her cheeks and Black smiles. “Thank you for the compliments, friends.” She never knew what to do with compliments, out of all the things she knows in the world, how to give and receive compliments are not a part of her vast knowledge.
Circle
Ira’s heart bleeds for her love. She knew that something had happened, but she didn’t know that it was this. “Darling, Love, you’re ok, it’s ok,” Ira’s voice was shaky and her hands were shaking as she rubes circles on Silver’s back. “Sweetheart, Honey, my love, please. You are ok. We are going to find out why your parents drowned her, ok?”

Kind
A day later, port comes into view, just like Ironside said it would. Black smiles, steering The Survivor around all the little ports and to dock. Sega is one of the smaller kingdoms, but it wasn’t the kindest towards pirates. Unlike Pelek, Alalo and Horten, Sega hated pirates. Especially Captain Black. Black had stole a few precious items from them and hardly made it out alive, Sega’s Queen didn’t like that and put a high price on her head. It was a risk, docking at Sega, but it was one they must make.
Silent
Black hears the conversation between the siblings over the wind and for a split second, the sad smile returns. Light footsteps are heard behind her and she turns, finding Tonya standing there with her hands out like she was gonna zap Black on the shoulders.
“You’re no fun, Captain. I can never scare you.” She pouts, her eyes narrowing at Black.
“You just need to practice being quieter. Once I can’t hear you, I can’t stop you.” Black rebuts.
“Yeah, well, not everyone knows how to be completely silent as they walk.”
“And that’s why I’m telling you to learn. It comes in handy.”
Time
“I don’t want to forget her, Ira, she was the one the saved me.” Tears glisten at the edges of Silver’s eyes.
“Shhh, darling, I’m not asking you to forget her, I’m saying that you will be able to think of her without crying.” Ira whispers, her heart breaking once more for her love. “You heart bleeds every time you think of her, after this, your heart will still ache for her, but it won’t bleed.”

Writing Habit Tag
I was not tagged, but @cometworks did this and I really really wanted to. So I did it!

I write: daily | most days | a few times a week | a few times a month | random
I write most often: when I first get up | later in the morning | afternoon | evening | the wee hours of the night | whenever
In one sitting, I tend to write: a few sentences at a time | a few hundred words | a few thousand words | a complete chapter/section no matter how long | whatever comes
I tend to write scenes: in chronological order with no skipping | mostly in order but with some filler/skipping | whatever scene I feel like | who knows what’s gonna come out????
The things that comes easiest to me are: dialogue | description of senses | description of action | description of characters | exposition | other [please specify, i’m curious :P]
I tend to write: on a phone | on a laptop | in a notebook | on whatever paper I can find | with speech to text | in the blood of my enemies | it doesn’t really matter to me | on paper first and then typed up | old school typewriter
When I take a break from writing, it usually lasts: a few days | a few weeks | a few months | it’s kind of random
My favorite thing to do when I’m on a writing break is : recharge with other creative hobbies | read/ consume other media | do something physical | catch up with old friends | work on my WIP in other ways like with playlists or art | other [please specify for us nosy rosies XD]. Hi

WIP List Tag

Rules: give a brief summary and description for all of your WIPs
I have a lot. I don’t talk about many cause, well, I don’t know, I just don’t for some reason. But I guess I’ll share all of them with you. Including the ones that won’t be written until much later.
Over Land and Sea
YA dark fantasy novel that follows two sisters after they were separated and sacrificed as young children unknowingly working together on a heist. When the person that provided the info forth gives the wrong info on purpose and ruins the heist, the two will have to meet. Face to face to find out why and how to stop him.
Centaurs (place holder title)
YA fantasy novel (may become series) about a centaur from one world getting flung into another. Into the one of humans. She finds her self captured and studied and tested. No one had ever seen someone like her before. And they want to know what she is. Her mission is to get back to her world, however that may happen. Befriending a nice human may be the only way.
War Within
A YA medieval fantasy novel that follows two characters trying to prove themselves to society and getting more than they bargained, realizing the only way out is to help, they find that there is a lot they didn’t know. Including with how people are treated when they are born unmarked. Now having to stand up to the oppression they didn’t know existed, they have to fight and be an ally to more than just their selfish wants.
Those are the three main ones. Under the cut are the ones that I want to continue but it will take me a while to get to them.
Sunken Pirates
A YA pirate/mermaid dark fantasy novel. Chasing after a love that Fern knows will never work out but wants to, she joins a pirate crew. Her boyfriend was going and the Captain put her younger brother at gun point, she really had no choice. Women on ships are bad luck. After many days of being a servant and maid to the men of the ship, including the one she thought was her love, the ship and crew has much bad luck where the didn’t before. Believing the only way to break the bad luck curse is to throw her off, that’s what they do. Tied her legs and arms and pushed her off. Keeping her younger brother. Drowning, but not dying, she turns into a mermaid. Finding other women pirates who drowned as well, she learns that the ocean doesn’t believe what the men believed. Tasked with getting revenge on all pirates, that’s what she does.
Satan V.S. God (place holder title)
This isn’t your ordinary God beats the devil story. This is the other way around. YA war/distopain fantasy novel.
Satan is the good guy. Kind of. He enjoys the world as it is. Love, peace, hate and war. Balance. Satan understands the need for it. God wants everyone to be kind and good and to worship him. He wants no bad. He wants to get rid of the balance. God sends his angels down to earth, spreading a powder over everyone and everything. Erasing all thoughts that go against what he stands for. Down in Hell, Satan hears word and sends his devils to stop this madness. The angels take all but one city. God sends down his daughter and son, Angel and Ramiel to defeat the one protector of the last city standing. Nija, Satan’s daughter, this the only devil left to fight God’s children. A fight goes down between the pair and earth is hardly standing at the end.
I’m gonna leave the list there, cause I have another 25 WIPs and I don’t really want to talk about them all cause they’re more of plot bunnies that I wrote five chapters, characters, and outline for but never finished writing. So yeah. Those are the main WIPs.

This is a part from my WIP Over Land and Sea!
“That’ll just help us. For how pretty you are, Ira, you don’t know how to use it to your advantage.” And it’s true, Ira captures almost every person’s attention with her short, sharp cut dirty blond hair, and her blue eyes that light with every emotion. Her small stature and her outfits — always over the top with jewelry — catch even royals attention. She’s a siren without needing to sing. So much power at her figure tips, and not a clue how to use it. Such a shame.

I’ll be able to find more words once I actually start writing Over Land and Sea. But I’m still outlining it, and that doesn’t give me much to work with for these things. 🤷🏻♀️

Writing Question Tag Game

MEL'S QUESTION: What is your favorite "writing memory"? Is there any scene in particular that you really really enjoyed writing for whatever reason? Please put some excerpts in there, I'd love to read them!!
Favorite writing memory... this is a hard one. I think starting writing Over Land and Sea. Like when I started writing and not just procrastinating and outlining. I had been stuck in outline land and now that I've started, everything is falling into place and I love it!
This is the very beginning of Over Land and Sea. I don't know if I'm gonna keep this beginning but I'm liking it, so idk if I will or not. (Excuse me for any errors, this is edited whatsoever)
Silver sighs, a weary expression falls into place on her face, she watched it do so through her mirror. A light hand is placed on her shoulder, it’s a comforting weight, one Silver has known for most of her life.
“I don’t know what to do,” She admits, whispering. Her makeup is smeared, her perfect eyeliner no longer perfect. Tears will do that to ones face. Reaching out to her makeup bag to fix it, the same hand comes to stop her.
AMBER'S QUESTIONS:
Can you write with someone else in the same room or do you have to be alone?
I have to be alone. I get anxiety if I’m working on anything with someone else in the room. Whenever I’m trying to do homework, writing, anything that I have to complete, I can’t do it with someone else in the room. I think it’s cause I feel that everyone is judging me or watching me while I work and that thought gives me anxiety.
Do you write every day of the week? How much time would you say you spend on average writing a day?
I’m really trying to write everyday!! I think on average I write for around two hours everyday. It takes me, on a good day, an hour and a half to write 1,000 words and that’s my goal, so I’m writing just over that every day.
Do you write with or without music? If so, what kind of music is your favorite to write to?
I have to do everything with music or else I get anxious, so yeah, I write with music. I listen to whatever music I like at the time but I created an Over Land and Sea playlist so that’s what I’ve been listening to while I write! It’s really short but I’ve never been good at making playlist for my WIPs, I am trying to add more songs to this one though!
