Do you have any info or confirmation on the rumored Caldwell-Duggar #4 or Swanson-Duggar #2 & #3?

Jim Bob confirmed in Joy's baby video that Gunnar was indeed #30 and being the 15th boy and that Nora #31 is the tiebreaker. So here's the breakdown

There is an Unaccounted–For GrandDuggar!

Forsyth #3 is #30, But We Only Know About 29.

So, so many of you sent this in. Thank you! I am so happy to finally have an updated GrandDuggar count. Thank you, Jim Bob! Thank you, loyal readers!

Up until Joy's video, we know about 27 GrandDuggars—25 Already Born (Mackynzie to Charlie), and 2 In Utero (Duggar–Wissmann #1 and Forsyth #3). It was also widely–speculated that Siah + Lauren and Joe + Kendra quietly added to their broods this year. Knowing that there's 30 GrandDuggars, and three unaccounted–for, Duggar Data now considers Duggar–Swanson #2 and Duggar–Caldwell #4 to be "confirmed" births. (See This Post for more information.)

Alright, so that brings us to 29 Known GrandDuggars. Here's a full list, in birth order—

Note—We don't know when Hannah is due; however, we can be all–but certain that her Due Date is before Joy's. Joy is due on May 23, 2023, and she announced on October 5, 2022. Hannah announced before Joy, on August 30th. Theoretically, the very earliest one can announce a pregnancy is Day 29. (That's the day the woman would be expecting her period, but it didn't start.) It's highly unlikely Jer + Hannah announced that early... But, even if they did, Hannah's Due Date would be May 8, 2023, which is earlier than Joy's.

If Forsyth #3 is #30, there's 1 Unaccounted–For GrandDuggar—so, let's go over the possibilities for whose child it is or how this can be explained.

Could Joy Be Expecting Twins?

No. Per Joy's YouTube video, her OB confirmed via ultrasound that her current pregnancy isn't twins. Also, if she was expecting twins, Jim Bob wouldn't have described her baby as #30. He would have said #29 and 30, if he knew it was twins, or just #29, if he didn't.

Could Hannah Be Expecting Twins?

No. Jer + Hannah haven't shared much about their pregnancy, but they've shared enough to know it's not multiples. In the Pregnancy Announcement, Jer referenced a "precious little baby"—not babies. And in the Sex Reveal, Hannah wrote: "We cannot wait to meet our sweet baby girl"—not girls, or a boy and a girl, or whatever.

Could Lauren or Kendra Have Had Twins?

Probably Not, though we can't definitively rule it out. The Car Seat Photo featured one car seat, not two; and the Baby On Lap, Stroller, and Nursing Photos featured one baby, not two. That said, we don't have any evidence that proves they didn't have twins.

Could Some Else Be Pregnant?

Yes. And, if they are, they must be due before Joy—otherwise, her baby wouldn't be #30, theirs would. Joy is due May 23, 2023. So, the Unaccounted–For GrandDuggar is due on or before May 22.

Who is the other pregnant Duggar? Well, let's start by determining who is isn't...

Joy and Hannah's Pregnancies are known, so it's not them.

It's not Anna. Josh is in prison, and has been since December 9, 2021. She had Madyson on October 23. Even if she'd somehow managed to get pregnant between October 23 and December 9, she would've delivered by now.

It's not Abbie. She'll be <40 Weeks Post–Partum in May 2023.

It's almost certainly not Jill, since she would've had to conceive again within 8 Weeks of Freddy's Birth.

Irish Twins are rare, even for Predictor Families, so it's unlikely to be Katey or Kendra, who both gave birth in May 2022.

That just leaves Jessa, Jinger, Lauren, and Claire. Out of that group, Lauren is probably the least likely to be pregnant now, since she just had Baby C in or around March 2022. If she gave birth again in May 2023, that would be a very, very short—unusually short, even among Predictor Families—child spacing, which seems unlikely. (Especially in light of the longer gap between Bella and Baby C.)

Jessa, Jinger, and Claire remain. Of those three, Claire is definitely the likeliest candidate, as she's very overdue (~4 SDs) for Pregnancy #1. Jinger is also currently overdue, but less overdue than Claire (~1 SD)—plus, she seems to have jumped off the quiverfull bandwagon. That just leaves Jessa. If it's her, she's early—but, only by 3 Months. (Seewald #5 is currently forecast for August 2023.)

Whoever it is, they probably aren't that far ahead of Joy. Currently, it's Duggar–typical to announce a pregnancy at ~94 Days Along. If there was an announcement today, that would correspond to a May 6, 2023 Due Date. And if they were due on the latest possible date, May 22nd, they won't be "late" to announce until November 18th.

Could Someone Else Have Secretly Given Birth?

(Note—I'm talking about another "secret birth" on top of the now–known secret births of Baby C and Duggar–Caldwell #4.)

Probably Not. This would imply that the Unaccounted–For Grand has been born as of today, November 1, 2022. Right away, we can rule out a number of Duggars—

It's not Hannah. She hasn't been married long enough to be on Baby #2. (She and Jer tied the knot on March 26, 2022.)

It's not Joy. She said that this is Baby #3. If she'd had a secret birth, she'd be on Baby #4, not #3.

It's not Abbie, Jill, or Katey, since they are all <40 Weeks Post–Partum, and we're sure that their latest baby was their 2nd, 3rd, and 1st, respectively. (No chance they snuck in a secret one.)

It's not Kendra. She had Brooklyn in February of 2021 and she's believed to have given birth again in Late May 2022. There's no way that she's given birth again since May, 5 Months Ago. And, likewise, there's no way that she squeezed another pregnancy in between Brooklyn and the May 2022 Baby. There simply aren't enough days. It's not possible.

It's probably not Anna. While it's not impossible, it's a really tight timeline... Like, really tight. She would have had to get pregnant within <7 Weeks of Madyson's Birth, which is completely at odds with her typical spacing. If it did happen, M8 probably arrived in August, maybe Early September.

It's probably not Jessa. She is still active on social media, so it's pretty unlikely that she wouldn't have announced a pregnancy.

That leaves Lauren, Jinger, and Claire. Out of the group, Jinger is probably the least likely suspect. While she doesn't share her girls' faces on social media anymore, she just shared a Halloween photo that shows two toddlers with no infant in sight. As for Lauren, it is possible she's had 2 Children since Bella; however, it would require two really close spacings, since that's 2 Children in 28 Months. As for Claire, it's definitely possible she's had a baby by now. (She got married in February of 2021.) But, is she the type to not announce anything? I'm not so sure about that.

Could Jim Bob's Count Include Annabell?

Probably Not. Jim Bob + Michelle lost their 20th Child, Jubilee, at ~20 Weeks, but don't include her in counting their own 19 Children. Annabell was also an ~20 Week Loss. It doesn't make much sense that they'd count Annabell and not Jubilee, but we also can't rule it out. It's possible, but unlikely, that that's what's going on.

TL;DR—

Ultimately, the most likely answer is that there's another Duggar on the way, due shortly before Forsyth #3, and it’s Claire’s, Jinger’s, or Jessa’s. However, we can't rule out the possibility of Lauren or Kendra having twins, or of Anna, Jessa, Lauren, Jinger, or Claire having a "secret birth," or of J.B. including Annabell in the list of GrandDuggars. Also, maybe Jim Bob just can’t count… But, probably not. He seemed sure.

Duggar Bates 2017 Timeline

It’s been a busy few years for the Duggar and Bates families with many courtships, weddings and births. I thought it would be ‘fun’ (aka extremely stressful) to make a timeline of each year to look back on and reminisce over these precious memories the Lord blessed us all with. There is a lot to remember so if I have forgotten anything, please let me know.

Lets start with 2017.

January

5th - The fifth Season of Bringing Up Bates begins to air on UPTV

16th - The fourth season of Counting On begins to air on TLC

26th - John and Alyssa Webster welcome their second child, a daughter named Lexi Mae

Seewald #4 name predictions

OK. It's Summer. That means Seewald #4 is literally due any time. So I'm going to stop putting it off and make some predictions.

Basically I have no idea what they might name this baby because I really know nothing about important Christian historical figures and specifically don't know which ones they are inspired by/wish to honour the most. Having said that I did some googling and will do my best.

If this baby is a boy I think at least their middle name will be after a Christian historical figure. Some potential options:

William Garrett Lewis (1821-1885) was a British baptist preacher who co-founded the London Baptist Association along with Charles Spurgeon.

Joseph Angus (1816-1902) worked for the Baptist Missionary Society and worked on the revision of the King James Bible.

Benajah Harvey Carroll (1843-1914) was a Baptist pastor, theologian, and teacher and was a leader in the Southern Baptist Convention. He also served in the American Civil War on the side of the Confederates.

George Whitfield (1714-1770) was one of the founders of Methodism and the evangelical movement.

John Knox (1514-1572) was a Scottish minister and theologian and leader of the country's reformation.

John Wesley (1703-1791) was a cleric and evangelist. Per Wikipedia, 'the societies he founded became the dominant form of the independent Methodist movement that continues to this day.'

Dwight L. Moody (1837-1899) was an evangelist. Moody Bible Institute (an Evangelical Christian Bible College in Chicago is named after him).

C. S. (Charles Staples) Lewis (1898-1963) was the author of The Chronicles of Narnia series and famously a Christian apologist.

William Augustine Screven (1629-1713) founded the first Baptist Church in the American South.

William Bullein Johnson (1782-1862) was the first president of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Edward VI (1537-1553) was King of England from 1547-1553. He was England's first monarch to be raised as a Protestant and, although he was just a child, during his reign he took great interest in properly establishing Protestantism in the country, for example by abolishing clerical celibacy and Mass and demanding services be conducted in English. He named his first cousin once removed Lady Jane Grey (Ivy's namesake) as his heir. She ruled for just 9 days before being deposed by Edward's half-sister, the famously Catholic Mary I.

A couple of female options:

Charlotte 'Lottie' Moon (1840-1912) was a Southern Baptist missionary who spent over 40 years in China.

Annie Walker Armstrong (1850-1938) was a Southern Baptist leader who found the Woman's Missionary Union. (I'm not convinced they'd name a daughter after a woman leader even if she was a Baptist but you never know.)

Some of these people above were Methodists and not Baptists which I think is the denomination the Duggars ascribe to. I have no idea if this makes any difference to them though 🤷‍♀️

I think if it's a girl her first name will a little vintage. I'm sure when Ivy was born Jessa said they liked old-fashioned names. Some random vintage girl names: Violet, Elsie, Flora, Juniper, Beatrice, Sylvie, Posie and Nora.

Quiz: Which Desmond Hall Character Are You?

SPOILER WARNING FOR DESMOND HALL ARCS I AND II

Last week, I was going to work on finishing my next review, but then my muse pulled me aside and ordered me to write a Desmond Hall personality quiz while threatening me with a conjure doll and silver pin. Not every Desmond Hall character is in this quiz, only the ones that I thought would be the funniest to write. Enjoy!

1. You have just arrived at an ancient manor house enveloped in darkness that rests atop a sinister network of haunted caves. When you learn this, how do you react? A. Lie in bed for several days while writhing in agony. B. Accept it and keep myself busy while pining for my voodoo island home. C. Act insufferably smug, because soon the house will belong to me. D. Go search for creatures in the caves to alleviate my boredom and satisfy my compulsion to do random disturbing things. E. Barely react at all because the writers have forgotten that I have a personality. F. Swan around while talking to myself about how the manor looks like something out of a storybook. G. Wish that I could live there again, because I've been trapped in a trippy magical closet for months.

2. The daily newspaper arrives and the headline reads, "GIRL BRUTALLY MURDERED.” What is your response? A. Retreat to my bedchamber and panic loudly about how I hope no one discovers that I’m the murderer. B. Get the body buried and all evidence concealed. C. Observe a moment of silence for my former doxy, then promptly forget she ever existed. D. Cut out the photo of the victim's face, suspend it from a papier-mâché gallows tree, and display it prominently in the foyer. E. Feel moderately concerned for my safety, but not too much. 3. Your hobbies include: A. Moping around the manor house in fancy suits and contorting my face as though trying unsuccessfully to relieve myself. B. I'm here and there. I'm a kind of ghost of Desmond Hall. E. I used to enjoy rebelling, flouncing, and bickering, but I've lost my taste for those. Now I prefer hanging out with old people in a cottage that smells of strange spices. F. Talking to and stroking my sweet little snake. (By which I mean "reptile with no legs and a forked tongue." Muffins laced with magical herbs. F. The delicious misery of the man who tried to strangle me and of all the other women who want him. G. I don't eat anymore. I'm a ghost. 5. What turns you on? A. A lover who is unpredictable but not murderously crazy, and who likes to wear lacy nighties. B. I would not know! I have not felt those urges in three hundred years! C. Money. D. Anyone from my preferred gender who actually wants to spend time with me. E. A ghost who behaves like Edward Cullen. F. Jean Paul Desmond! He is the sexiest male character in the history of television. G. Submission and unquestioning devotion. Also, lesbians.

6. What is your signature look? A. Highly flattering mod suits combined with an unflattering combover. B. A long black Victorian dress. C. A stodgy gray/green suit, which is probably in desperate need of Febreze after being worn three days in a row. D. Turtlenecks. E. Bleached blonde hair and faddish early ‘70s fashions. F. I single-handedly cursed my employer's family by signing his grandfather’s (misspelled) name on a pledge to the Dark Lord. C. I am a black widower. D. 8. If you had to guess, which of these personages were you most likely in a past life? A. A freebooter possessed by the Devil. B. Myself. C. Henry Seewald--who looks exactly like a toddler version of me--transported back in time via the 49th hexagram. D. Someone named Claude. E. A young girl sacrificed by a priestess who looked like my mother. F. Ophelia, if she were real. G. My great-uncle with the same first name as me, who was allegedly disowned for being a poet.

9. Your favorite Dark Shadows character is: A. Barnabas Collins. B. Magda Rakosi. C. Nicholas Blair. D. David Collins. E. Carolyn Stoddard. F. Angelique Bouchard. G. Quentin Collins.

10. What from 1970 Dark Shadows do you believe was most likely inspired by Strange Paradise? A. The character of Judah Zachery, who is highly reminiscent of THE DEVIL JACQUES ELOI DES MONDES. B. The use of a retcon to completely change Angelique's backstory. C. The name Desmond Collins. D. The implied reincarnation in the Summer of '70 arc that (sadly) never got explored as much as it should have been. E. The subplot about Quentin falling in love with Daphne's ghost. F. The Leviathan cult's use of snake iconography. G. The carousel in Tad and Carrie's playroom.

If you answered mostly A, you are Jean Paul Desmond, richest man in the world and master of Desmond Hall. Tall, dark, and incredibly handsome in spite of his receding hairline, Jean Paul is the victim of two self-imposed curses, one of which causes him to strangle people when the Mark of Death appears on his hand (which is totally not a reflection of some repressed or hidden part of his personality, having formerly displayed megalomania and control freak tendencies on his island). When not under the effects of this curse, he is the living embodiment of charm and sweetness and attracts would-be partners like moths to a flame. Logically, the same must be true about you, because online personality quizzes are never wrong. ;)

If you answered mostly B, you are Raxl, daughter of the Priestess of the Serpent and winner of the Canadian 1969 and 1970 scenery-chewing contests. Far older than she looks, the Desmond family’s housekeeper may not be as loyal as she appears, depending on the whims of whomever wrote the plot outline for the final arc. She is an expert on all things occult and supernatural, from tarot cards to the Egyptian Key. Even after her retcon, she is awesome.

If you answered mostly C, you are Laslo Thaxton, husband of Ada (Desmond) Thaxton and master of Desmond Hall in the absence of Jean Paul and Philip. I would say that you are an unscrupulous, greedy Devil-worshiper like Laslo, but I’ve always hated those personality quizzes that make moral judgments about people just because they share some traits in common with the villain. Therefore, I’m just going to assume that you are most likely a decent person who only got Laslo because you happen to love money and Nicholas Blair.

If you answered mostly D, you are Cort Desmond, twenty-something cousin of Jean Paul and Philip. Eccentric and erratic but oh-so-adorable, Cort is a polarizing character loved by some fans for his good looks and (often unintentionally) funny lines, but hated by others for being somewhat of a spoiled brat. Like Hamlet whom he idolizes, he seeks justice for the death of his father, along with the inheritance his Dear Stepfather Laslo wants to steal from him.

If you answered mostly E, you are Holly Marshall--or, rather, what Holly has become since her creator Ian Martin left the show. Formerly a spitfire with a high IQ, a low boiling point, and a love for outdated slang, Holly has become a shell of her former self under the new writers. She spends more time unconscious and hypnotized than not; when she is conscious, she wastes her time pining after an unsuitable love interest who treats her like Edward treats Bella in Twilight. I hope this doesn’t describe you, because, if it does, you should seek help. Don’t be like Desmond Hall-era Holly!

If you answered mostly F, you are Agatha Pruitt, a young seamstress obsessed with Jean Paul. While the master of Desmond Hall has attracted many suitors, none are as strange or disturbing as Agatha, who blackmails him into letting her live at Desmond Hall after his failed murder attempt and proceeds to wreak havoc there along with the Serpent God (who may or may not be Raxl’s Great Serpent) whom she worships.

Finally, if you answered mostly G, you are Jean Paul’s brother, Philip Desmond (not to be confused with his cousin Philip Desmond, or either of the two Philippes des Mondes). A secretive figure largely mysterious even to his own brother, the handsome Philip dabbles in the dark arts and other mysteries, which ultimately leads to his disappearance into the caves beneath Desmondton and reappearance as a ghost. His character alignment is unclear--he may be evil, or just chaotic neutral--but one thing is clear: whoever messes with Philip has the Devil to pay.

Last minute guess and a few more *I’ve been in quarantine too long*

While waiting for the announcement that Baby Girl Forsyth has arrived I want to lock in my final guesses on a name, and I’m going to add my guesses for the next few Duggar’s and Bates’ grandchildren.

In order of how I think they will be born:

Elianna Joy Forsyth, I think the birth announcement will be today (Monday) and that she was born on August 20.

@tacos4teenbrides guessed the name Audrey Diana for Jinger and I completely agree, so that is also my guess. Audrey Diana Vuolo

Cruz Elliott Webster. I think Alyssa is doing the nickname names for girls, but I think she is going to go with short names for boys, if she has boys. I do think she is finally going to have a boy though.

Ethan Paul Duggar. Not sure why but I have a strong feeling that they’re having another boy and this name is the first that popped into my head.

*This could be exempt, I have a feeling they’re going to have another soon but at the same time I feel like they might be done* Hazel Michelle Dillard. That -el ending is going to continue if they have anymore kids.

Magnolia Winter Balka. Not sure why I feel so strongly about this but that seems like a Josie name lol.

Charlotte Hannah Seewald. I’m not giving up on this name for Jessa and Ben. Lottie for a nickname.

Brooks Jonathan Bates. Since they named Kaci and Khloe both with K’s, I think they’re going to keep B names for boys too.

Cyrus Matthew Duggar. To keep that “Si” sound in the name for Josiah and it starts with a C so it’s on theme.

Sutton Lucas Paine. So Erin has done this with every girl so far, the first name of every girl has started with the middle name of the sister before her. I think she’s going to do the same with boys, and Carson’s middle name is Stephen so Sutton it is.

Charles John Duggar. Charlie for a nickname. Gracie and Charlie sound adorable together.

Melody Joy Duggar. M theme still going strong for M7.

Jonah Patrick Stewart. Not sure why I think that will be their son’s name but that’s my guess.

Maisie Layne Smith. I think Tori will drop the K theme she’s got going on with the next baby.

*this last one is if Michaela does get pregnant one day* Simon Timothy or Rebecca Jo (the meaning behind Rebecca in the bible fits Michaela well right now).

If you can’t tell quarantine has left me very bored. I’ve had too much time on my hands.
