I've been trying to put this into words for a While now

I think a big reason a lot of white people have an issue with acknowledging their very real Privilege (beyond the obvious) is that... ok, its the presence of benefits and perks & the absence of barriers and obstacles. But the default assumption of white privilege, of what those benefits or obstacles ARE, is essentially the archetype of a WASP - generally a male one too. This nebulous, theoretical group of perks & lack of barriers that people often present as white privilege (when in reality then tend to be talking about CLASS) fails to capture the lived reality of a VAST, HUGE majority of poor white people.

They're going to be hostile to the idea that they had opportunities to advance in the workplace that others didn't, when they worked the same shit job at the mill their entire short life. The idea that they had alumni family to help secure them a good spot at a college their parents paid for, rather than being the first person in their family to go to even community college just to have to drop out and take care of siblings. The idea that they lived life with financial and food stability, when they grew up in a family of 8 siblings having a slice of bread each for breakfast and lunch because their mom couldn't access birth control and their dad was an abusive drunk. These aren't theoretical exceptions! This isn't the minority of white people, this is the reality for MILLIONS of people!!

There are absolutely things that apply across the board when talking about white privilege - situations a white person will never face because they are white, that a black person will face because they are black. But is that divide, based on race instead of assumptions about class, really the image conjured by/for many people when we talk about white privilege now? Especially in current liberal circles, where any level of privilege can be used to discredit and dismiss someone's reality - to declare them exempt from a huge swath of dangers, and benefit to a theoretical upper class lifestyle of relative ease. The logic follows that if the speaker is white, or white-passing, much about their life can be assumed and much can be written off that they could not possibly understand or have experienced - they must out and offer another aspect of their identity (disabled, queer, fat, etc) to show they have any right to speak on marginalization. Being white protects you around cops, until the moment you're dirt poor, or disabled, or visibly trans, or just the right queer body they were looking to teach a lesson to that night. Being white protects you in our current government, until you're a felon with no vote, or a disabled person declared unfit to make your own decisions and sterilized.

All this to say, liberals cannot keep clinging to the idea & narrative that white equals automatic access to a huge amount of privileges and protections that are actually Hugely reliant on class and a lack of intersecting identities. Dirt poor people who hear "white privilege" used almost exclusively to describe WASPS, from the mouths of the Liberal Left who have ignored the plight of the rural poor for decades, who are ACTIVELY making jokes about stupid southerners and how we should just cut off parts of the country and let them drown, will not result in them listening! They will not go self introspect about their own biases! They will not look up the real nuances of white privilege and class privilege and how those are linked but not inextricably. They will not think about how to eliminate barriers and create opportunities for other people. They WILL be further alienated from the left and being able to actually look into their very real privilege in the future though!!

#this is about a division in how white privilege is used as a term not about the actuality of white privilege #you have to use it for what it means and stop applying this nebulous all encompassing Privelege that ties in #class and race and health and security all under the umbrella of how a lot of liberals are talking about white privilege and white people #in ways that are not only inherently downplaying and muddying the class divide (see: people thinking someone barely at middle class is #the equivalent of Very Rich now instead of seeing the GROWING divide bw those who have money and dont #like whiteness is a huge part of it!!! but thats a complex nuanced thing to talk about #when if you would talk about the things white privilege actually is when talking to/about the average poor ass white person #it makes the concept a lot more approachable and understandable and less fucking alienating to the people who #see all the same problems w this country and are listening to the absolute fuckass wrong answers to why and what to do about ir #bc theyre SCARED AND ALIENATED BY THE LEFT and are going w anyone who is marginally listening instead of saying the south should just be #set on fire

Yes,it's super true that:

Black women should be allowed to be as femme as much we want and however we want

We can be indie,pastel,punk,kidcore,classical,scene,goth,gamers and any other style and/or subculture we want that's not inherently rooted in blackness by itself but that we put our spin on to make it connected to our black womanhood and we're awesome for it

This also extends to our personalities.We should be allowed to be bubbly and soft and kiddy and chaotic and unshamedly weird and hopeless romantics and high maintenance without having our blackness doubted since blk women like us have always existed and we always will

It's extremely out of pocket to say we're 'acting white' for it,especially when there's some parts of these that were INVENTED by black women and is real bold coming from cisdudes who do things like calling us fake fans because they think we don't know what any media and need to educated by them so we can reward them by dating them and this all goes quadruple for black trans femmes,be we transmasc or transfem or multigender or nonbinary

But it's ALSO super true that:

Black women are allowed to be butch as much as they want and however they want

They're an extremely important part of not only black history but also wlw history in general and have been one of the most important groups in our community since forever along with blk trans women.They also face significantly worse discrimination than us femmes(No,i'm not making it a competition,i'm saying it as a fact)

Studs/Masc bi bw can be just like us personality ways or the direct opposite or somewhere inbetween and they're all cool as fuck and deserve good things and our love and protection like they give to us.They deserve our full support in cases where they're not cis too that,again,they also give us

Mr. Hua Cheng is a very distinguished personality in 3 realms. Mortal worship him, Gods fear him and Ghosts respect and adore him. He is the one and only 'Crimson Rain Shought Flower' the supreme Ghost King of land.

Recently, he published a book to enlighten the masses. A very important excerpt of the book is presented here

"There are two kind of people in the world:

1. Dianxia

2. The Others

First is the only thing matters in the world. He should be revered, loved , worshipped by everyone(Kissed , hugged, and 'loved' by only me). He deserves the best (like me) in the world.

The second category divided into 2 subcategories.

1. Who are nice to Dianxia:-

They should be treated with bare minimum of kindness. Since they have a good head on their shoulders, they could keep it there without fear. By Dianxia's blessings, I'll make sure that happens.

2. Who are rude to Dianxia/ hurt Dianxia.

They deserve to be universally hated. They should be hanged on a spike. But ....they should not die. They should live a life worse than death.

Of course, like everything in the world, there are some exceptions to the rule.

1. The 1st, the most important exception, Goushi should also be treated with utmost respect. After all he is Dianxia's Seffu. He should be second to Dianxia.

2. The 2nd exception is The Black Water. That creature has been with me for hundreds of years. I've grown used to feeding him, and listening to his useless prattle {a.n- BW prattles?! Why don't you admit you like talking to him?!}. The fool owes me a lot of money, anyway. So, he should be kept around to run my errands.

3. The former Wind Master is the 3rd exception. He is Dianxia's friend. He was nice to Dianxia when others were busy mocking Dianxia. So he deserves a bit of extra kindness and respect. I don't need to protect his life, though. There is Black Water for that.

4. Another special case are Mu Qing and Feng Xin. These two baffons, surprisingly, belong to both subcategories. So, they should be despised and insulted but should not be harmed(too much)."

This excerpt sure is enlightening. I do not need explain in detail the purpose of the excerpt, do I? Please be cautious and start praying the Scraps....... I mean 'Flower Crown Martial God' or 'Crown Prince who Pleased the God.' May the lord bless us!

#10 - our beloved summer : choi ung and kim ji ung

beautiful beautiful men choi woo shik and kim sung cheol played ung bros for life in this beautiful beautiful drama. one of the best handled love triangles ive seen. they were there for each other through thick and thin, and helped each other through sm. best. on the tenth spot because they could've expanded on it more :(

#9 - what's wrong with secretary kim? : lee young joon and park yoo sik

i could never make it through the series. i left it behind on ep9/10 i think, and primarily because i physically cannot digest how emotionless park min young is. BUT, kudos to the hilarious office best bromance by the great park seo joon and kang ki young. ps - why is kang ki young the pankaj tripathi of korean dramas?

#8 - strong girl do bong soon : ahn min hyuk and in gook du

can we ever forget the legendary wink? or the dream where min hyuk is dressed as a woman? i think not. this was more of a frenemy type bromance, united by their love for bong soon and ironically divided by it, too. i refuse to acknowledge this as a love triangle tho. bong soon was astronomical in not hurting gook du and i will not take any criticism. is it a bromance if one of them is pretending to be gay? (and no, we will not discuss any sort of iTs pRoBLeMaTiC debates here.)

#7 - tale of the nine tailed : lee yeon and koo shin ju

don't come at me with the lee rang comments. rang was his half brother, related by blood. their relationship was top tier, but the stay at home husband yeon and working husband shin ju was too cute to not be classified as a bromance. in the beginning, i saw their relationship as shin ju serving yeon, a dynamic that they both seemed to embody. but as the show progresses, yeon baby we know you love shin ju just as much :*

#6 - alchemy of souls : jang uk and seo yul

song joon ki seems to have an attachment to bromances. han seo had the best character arc of the ENTIRE kdrama universe fight me. that court scene where vincenzo pats han seo's cheek was max bro cuteness. still not over his death. he deserved better.

#5 - vincenzo : vincenzo cassano and jang han seo

even though i didn't very much like the show's first couple, bromance delivered well. hospital scene peaked, complete true beauty sameness. it was pretty hard to understand who was the superior officer in this tbh initially, since their comraderie was so cool, shi jin was kid to soldier in a split second. loved how they chose not to unnecessarily exaggerate the love triangle initially bec i was only rooting for the second couple.

#4 - descendants of the sun : yoo shi jin and seo dae young

business proposal was the first kdrama i saw. i finished it in a three day trip, and i remember thinking more about the bromance than the romance. i was NOT used to the clumsiness of kdramas in general, like wattpad fics incarnated. the bromance delivered well, made me root for the second couple, and was the only initial indicator of kang tae moo being human instead of archaeopteryx. that word was a nightmare to spell.

#3 - business proposal : kang tae moo and cha sung hoon

the most wolfstar bromance if I ever saw one. and NO, i do not ship wolfstar just like i do not ship these two. they are totally adorable, and specially since their personalities seemed to switch from when they were children. yeong turned all serious face and lee gon got fun. love their years of friendship sm, their wordless communication and yeong in general. the acting was amazing.

#2 - the king - eternal monarch : lee gon and jo yeong

#1 - guardian - the lonely and great god : kim shin aka goblin and wang yeo aka grim reaper

yes, i know I'm missing a lot of iconic ones. unfortunately, i haven't seen alot of kdramas and have left alot in bw (like true beauty bec i couldn't see second lead hurt).

spring onion slays ^

told ya, if u follow me u already knew what the first one was gonna be. being the simp i am for the goblin and grim reaper, these two achieved the max points for their bromance. that slow dynamic of goblin calling reaper's hat tacky to fighting with knives to that iconic 'saranghae' to 'HOW DARE YOU' to goblin boiling eggs with his powers while reaper chills the beer. they know each other so well. love love love them and you should too 🔪

in my heart, the trio of our boys beats nothing (except for the gookdu-minhyuk relationship of the crown prince and uk). but instead of choosing the frenemy thing, i decided to love yul and uk more. yul was such a quiet character, with incredible potential in him for me to hate him, but then...(the guy is literally too sweet and beautiful and nice i can ramble for days). and uk, man, our power baby who loves every version of our beautiful but slow girl, needed so much emotional support. uk and yul were not afraid to show their affection for each other, a trait i admired in all the three boys (jang uk, seo yul and park dang gu).

would you recommend scarlet & violet to someone who really didn’t like sword & shield? (ignoring the obvious performance issues)

Depends on what you disliked about it.

-The fairly low general difficulty is still present, although the nonlinear structure means you can choose between “standard modern Pokémon difficulty curve the whole way through” or “challenging for half the game and then steamrolling through the half you’re overleved for.” People have already figured out an order to do everything in that will give you a fairly typical Pokémon level curve, but anyone going in blind is going to have a weird mix of all-or-nothing difficulty.

-Story is a bit more present than SwSh, although it isn’t on the level of SM or BW. You’ve got 18 objectives divided into three story arcs (typical gym-challenge routine, dealing with school delinquents, learning about the legendary Pokémon) that you have to complete to reach the climax.

-The school setting feels barely relevant, for better or worse. They send you out into the world very early on and while you can go back to take classes (cutscenes likely intended to teach newcomers basic gameplay mechanics), I haven’t seen any real benefit to doing so yet. The history classes offer interesting bits of lore, but that’s about it.

-Linear routes are gone, instead you effectively have one gargantuan Wild Area.

-No HMs. You can use (the equivalent of) Fly to landmarks you’ve already visited immediately, and doing the titan quests unlocks new movement options for Ko/Miraidon (sprinting, swimming, higher jumps, climbing, and gliding).

-Trainer battles out in the field are completely optional, you have to talk to them to initiate a battle. This sounds heretical, but I feel like it’s a wise decision in light of the open world - it would be a massive pain in the ass to be trying to run to a destination only to get interrupted by a trainer you missed whose whole team is now 15 levels lower than yours so you have to mindlessly mash A for two minutes to get moving again.

-Terastal is an improvement over Dynamax, it actually has meaningful strategic implications without being a “BECOME THE FUCKING STRONG” button.

-I’m enjoying the raids a bit more than SwSh’s, they use a weird Final Fantasy-type ATB system for a faster pace rather than just repeatedly bashing at barriers (and the raid theme is a banger).

-Towns/cities feel more barebones because you can only enter 2-3 buildings per town (gyms and sandwich shops, nearly everything else is either a menu you interact with or just a facade).

-Breeding is in fact still present, but there’s no daycare - instead, you set up a picnic and idle and compatible pairs of Pokémon will just randomly spawn eggs for you. The other picnic features are making sandwiches (which give “make X-type Pokémon spawn more frequently for Y minutes”-type buffs), and a clone of SM’s washing mode.

-Can’t comment on online/multiplayer aspects due to lmao pirated copy, but if it chugs this much in single player, I’m not optimistic.

-I know you already said “aside from the performance issues,” but let me reiterate that you can make Ko/Miraidon backwards-long-jump up cliffs like it’s a Super Mario 64 speedrun. It’s very silly.

In general, I feel like they could’ve had something really special on their hands if they’d given it another year or two in the oven, and there are certainly moments where that specialness shines through. But then you find another “city” that’s effectively a bunch of facades and a gym, or the framerate drops, or you have to deal with the clunky-ass minimap and you’re reminded of how half-baked it all feels. If you like Pokémon, have a high tolerance for jank, and can find a copy on sale, you’ll have a solid time with it. But I can’t in good conscience recommend people drop $60 on it.

It's free on Tubi (as is the sequel beast machines), so I heavily encourage you to watch it

With these two in my opinion, Megatron (I like to call him Tyrannotron as a silly little joke) and Optimus Primal have a little more push to their pull, especially since bw Optimus has a bit more bite to him than g1 Optimus has. Like, I feel like Primal has it in him more to wrestle with Megatron in the dirt and call him crude names than g1 Optimus does, and I love him for that.

It would be amazing to see their bickering flow into "like old married couple" territory, and there's the extra spice of the Predacons and maximals being removed from each other in a degree that the autobots and decepticons weren't. That divide doubled down in generations to come before our beast wars cast were created. So good old fashioned culture shock can be involved

#also i just realized this is a universe where optimus can fly and megatron can't #tfa gets so many influences from beast wars it's insane #plus the fact that they're ALL in such a situation that you can justify so many temporary truces #or causing a more permanent truce #maccadam #transformers #i just think they're neat #megop #bw optimus primal #bw megatron #g1 optimus prime
