Its rare that Seafoam gets really stressed or overwhelmed. Its the mark of a good Captain to keep his cool when under pressure. But if there comes a time where his stress is high and he cant get away from the situation, he probably seeks out Octo for help. Getting him to take over so that he can step away or just to help him in general. In which Octo is always willing to help.

Octo is the same as Seafoam. Really good under pressure and rarely gets overwhelmed. But just like Seafoam, if things get to be too much he would seek out Seafoam for help. Maybe even getting Seafoam to take control so can get a few minutes to himself.

Red probably gets stressed a lot, the poor kid :< He just runs to Coco, Seafoam, Blue or even Octo if he can. Just the nearest parental/protective figure that can resolve the situation for him <XD

I can see Blue diving deeper or swimming out a ways from the ship when stressed. The whale equivalent of taking a walk <XD

Cuttlefish probably uses her powers to slip out of any situation and find a quiet space to calm down. Removing herself from the situation usually fixes her up pretty quick. Spider crab is the same, just going to find a space alone where he can calm himself down. Usually by taking deep breaths and soaking up the quiet.

Urchin, Louis, Coco, Tuna and Ellie probably would all just find a way to leave the situation to go pace and rant when stressed. Even if they have to make a scene in order to leave.

I can see Pinwheel fleeing to Seafoam whenever something becomes too much to handle. Getting him to step in and help her, though she might not fully leave the situation. Since Seafoam provides her comfort, she might hover nearby while Seafoam resolves the situation for her.. 🥺

Mind redesign!

Headcanons + Stims below!

(Btw, the stims I put are ones I think that fit, but are also ones that I have since I know those the best. But I'd be happy to hear any other ideas!)

Stims:

• Hand shakes or twitching

• Chewing & clicking pens. Also tap, flips and shakes them in his hand

• Scratches arms & thighs. (especially when stressed)

• Holds/Messes with tail

• Paces around a lot, he cant sit in one space for long

• Clenches jaw fairly often

• Fidgets with any jewelry on him (rings bracelets and necklace)

Headcanons:

• Also uses the name Ciro

• He doesnt really mind what pronouns people use but they more prefer He/Him since thats Whole's. But they also uses They/Them, It/Its and even She/Her sometimes.

• Has a split pupil in the eye thats usually under his hair (its not that he hates it or anything, hes just emo)

• Likes turn based rpgs and bullet hell games. (Undertale, Deltarune, Octopath Traveler, Persona etc.)

• Also likes making things via legos, kandi, paracord, kniting, crocheting, anything really. Sometimes he'll make things for Soul and Heart and give it to them. Bros stubborn and embarrassed by it tho so he leaves it in their rooms or just throws it at them.

• While he does make fun of Heart for hating the light, Mind also hates the night, to the point where it has a fear of the dark. Your brain can sometimes see things in the dark that aren't there. So if they're in the dark for too long, he gets very very skittish and paranoid.

• In general she is also quite paranoid and over thinks a lot.

• Not only does he have his headaches, but neck pains as well as phantom limb pain

• Used to have full moth wings but after a fight with Heart, they were too torn up to use. He still has them, but they're small and he hides them under his jacket. (also why they rarely take its jacket off)

• His hair gets brighter if hes being more (rarely) emotional. (Happier, angrier, excited etc.) The rarer times when he gets startled, his hair goes off like a mini flashbang

• When his emotions are high enough, small sparks will shoot out from his hair

• Also if hes especially pissed off or depressed, it's voice will glitch and stutter way more (like some moments in like Storm and a Spring or TME)

• Has more moth traits but always tries to hide them. He has small antennas but hides them in his hair, has moth fluff on his neck but shaves it so it doesn't grow out etc. Also loves light like a moth but can control himself to not like...bang his head into a lamp post (unless hes like really tired or drunk or something? (heart once had a laser pointer and mind attack it like a cat))

• I dont have a set idea on how Heart went blind. But if it was Minds doing (especially if he used Souls trident), I could see Souls punishment resulting in Mind getting the robot limbs. That or Soul resulted in Mind needing the voice modulator.

• Has a tear on their sleeve from Hearts gunshot

• Cable tail that looks like a Nintendo 64 controller cable. Cause 1. Its an electric tail and 2. CJ (& me) likes LoZ Majoras Mask, which in an N64 game.

• Him and Heart are the same height but Soul is slightly taller. Heart doesn't mind it (nor can he tell) but Mind is slightly annoyed at that so he wears heels and heeled boots to be tall or as tall as Soul.

ok so i am 5'9, i hate summer (i am suffering lol), i love to bake, i am currently learning how to crochet, I like to read, I love musicals and will sing along to them, I am a jeans and a hoodie/plaid person and its all I wear lol, I love cozy games like stardew valley and animal crossing

i. regulus doesn't like summer too and adores whenever you get all bundled up to go outside during the colder months; he thinks you look adorable. he also likes the fact that winter gives him a lot of excuses to be close to you i.e to hold your hand and keep them warm, cuddle you to keep you warm and offer you his jacket...to keep you warm XD

ii. you spoil regulus with your baking, he was never really one for sweets but he gives all your baking creations a try and now he's grown quite the sweet tooth, he'll only admit it around you though

iii. you also spoil him with your crochet creations. you're still learning so you focus on small little trinkets first and he adores all of them, even the ones that don't quite look right or turn out lopsided. he doesn't openly fawn over them but shows his silent adoration by keeping every single one in a small treasure trove he's created using a box.

iv. you both love reading and it always ends in the two of you cuddled against each other. the peaceful silence is welcome but you'll occasionally come across a scene in your book that draws a reaction from you that you instantly have to explain to regulus. throughout your entire explanation, he's looking at you with love eyes. he loves listening to you and seeing your passions about something

v. regulus never really had a chance to watch musicals, he was mostly subjected to suffocating operas and ballets. when you heard this, you made sure to take him out to watch several of your favourite musicals, which were a good change of pace. he doesn't know how to feel about them other than he likes how excited and passionate you get about them; you're just always so adorable to him

vi. one day, he asks why you always wear simple jeans and a hoodie and you explain 'they're just so comfortable to wear', his upbringing has robbed him of such experiences so when you let him borrow your plaids/hoodies and buy him a pair of jeans, he feels as though he owes you so much - until he gets his own hoodies and plaid shirts, he's borrowing yours

vii. you make him get his own nintendo switch so he can start animal crossing and work on his own island as well. he doesn't take it seriously at first but when you offer to go to his island to help him, he seriously steps up his game to impress you and so that he doesn't look lazy - his island is immaculate as well! omg! you're jealous but impressed

viii. honourable mention : i also, lowkey ship you with Remus Lupin, you two cinnamon rolls would be cute together. he's the calmest out of the marauders but he's stressed all the time; you are the only person who can make him feel at ease, especially when you pull him into your relaxing and cosy hobbies to do together. he also thinks your adorable and feels a protectiveness over you so i feel as though he would be very hesitant to tell you about his lycanthropy

I was wrong about not being able to fit one more Mario game in before the Mario Movie. I just beat Odyssey, though it took me all day.

I forgot that if you aren't trying to grab everything, Mario Odyssey is actually pretty short. In fact I was a little upset that the game took me a single evening to beat when it first launched. I'm generally not a fan of locking so much content behind post game.

But to be fair to Odyssey, I played that game in a very wrong way, and under very poor circumstances where I was stressed about family related drama, and it soured that whole day for me. I just breezed through it, leaving each kingdom as soon as I had the minimum stars, I actually thought thats how I was supposed to play the game because we were chasing after Bowser and the Broodals, it seemed urgent not to linger. I even missed some bosses because of this.

Well now I know that's not the case I can play the game at my own pace. I eventually got all of the moons... not this time though, I played much like I did on launch day, except I didn't go for minimum moons, I at least made sure to solve all the major problems in each kingdom so I could experience most of what the game had to offer. So it didn't fly by nearly as quick as it did launch day.

I actually think this game is better for being able to be beaten in a single day. I don't want every game to be a huge commitment. I don't think i'll ever do 100% in this game again unless something terrible happens to my switch and I lose save data.

I'm also a lot more keen on this game than when I first played it. I was a bit harsh, partially because of how I spoiled it for myself by playing wrong and in a bad mental state, but there were things that I felt were legit issues with the game. I still kind of stand by them, there are way too many moons, and I think there's a lot of really bad decisions with the art direction... I understand Mario is meant to be a kind of experimental series at times but I did not care for the realistic humans in new donk city, or the vaporwave colored playstation 1 world made out of food, I think we really need to ditch the tradition of multiple Bowser fights in each game, and I think not fleshing out the ruined Kingdom was a huge mistake, seeing what the game could have been via the Mario Odyssey Art Book really brings my opinion of the game back down, you know? Almost everything in that art book is better than the final product.

But anyway, I don't want to end on a bummer note, because man this is a fun ass game, I really wished Nintendo would consider making a sequel but I feel like if they had plans to, they already would have, and if the rumors of true that EAD is now doing a Donkey Kong game, I would much rather have that, but man.... I really want a new 3D Mario now. Bowser's Fury was just not enough...

And speaking of Bowser, I discovered that in the end segment, if you do a triple jump, he does a "Yahoo" with his fist up like Mario... god damn, I forgot how fucking good that climax is and how badly it makes me want Bowser to be playable in a platformer, but like, the whole thing, not the last five minutes.

Mario Odyssey, fantastic game. And with that, I've spent too much time playing Mario today, but I think i'm gonna go watch the Super Mario Bros. Super Show with my buddy.

I saw a forum post asking would you still get into Pokémon if it come out today and like, that's an insane question because I can't even imagine that world. I dont necessarily mean that as a Pokémon fan but in the sense of everything Pokémon has influenced. People were saying they probably would because they would've grown up loving Digimon, but no you wouldn't have lol. All the adjacent things people love like Digimon and probably Yugioh to some extent exist as they are because of Pokémon's popularity. Pokémon itself owes its existence to Dragon Quest but DQ is not as popular as Pokémon.

But on top of all that the first generation of Pokémon could not be made today. Those designs and that vibe is so violently rooted in the 90s. Baxcalibur and Bellibolt are like the most gen 1 designs we've seen in forever and thats cuz Bellibolt is probably a revision of a gen 2 design. Today that series would release with Tem Tem level designs where no one really put any thought into them at all, and it would be a gacha game that would make a shitzillion dollars and then shut down randomly because Nintendo is weird. I think in the modern torrential pace of how often things come and go in the entertainment industry it would not have had the staying power it did back when it was the only thing like it. Dragon Quest actually might have just cornered the market on the monster collecting genre in the 90s or early 2000s. Its a crazy alternate universe to imagine. What if Walt Disney died and Roy Disney never did all the shit Walt took credit for. Wild

i rly hope this isnt bothering you at all but - i just got really into splatoon 2 from your posts abt it, and i was wondering if you had any tips for beginners?

no bother at all, you know i love to splat talk :) i forget where i heard this from, probably from a competitive splattuber video, but it was like, if you want to introduce someone new to the game, if you overload them with info and go straight to the hardcore competitive stuff they'll probably be turned off by all the high-level stuff... so i say you should just play how you like, test out weapons you think are interesting, play turf war, thats how i did it i had no clue what i was doing and just figured it out myself, then when i got REALLY into it i started watching like how to play weapon videos and then competitive videos to find even more to enjoy with a game i already loved!

if you mean you want tips on how to get better tho, then my first tips are use motion controls if you can and you arent already using them, theyre in options on the X menu, and while i've heard some ppl say playing on +5 sensitivity is best, esp for charger since you can flick your shots to a greater degree, i think its more of a personal thing like if you have shaky hands slower might be better for controlling your aim. learning how to substrafe is very good for ranked mode, its more of a higher-level thing but not in difficulty learning, you just see it more often at higher levels. i think its easy to learn if you keep practicing it until it becomes muscle memory. practicing substrafing and ledge cancelling (and practicing all movement in general like dodging shots and jumping) in salmon run is very helpful in my salmon run expert opinion, thats where i taught myself substrafing in a fast-paced environment with no risks :) practicing new weapons in hero mode also works, but i know that hero mode can get boring pretty fast -__- octo expansion is just so much better

umm last thing that i wish i knew when i started: gear abilities. when i started i just made cute outfits out of gear instead of paying attention to abilities (and now i still do that but i make the abilities good on the gear now) and it really doesnt matter as much in turf war but it can def help you if you, say, feel like youre running out of ink a LOT and dying because of it, you could run main or sub ink saver. ninja squid is GREAT for rollers and octo brushes as well. oh also if you have the nintendo online phone app, you can buy gear with different main abilities than you'll find in the shop, which is helpful if u like how a gear looks but it has a bad ability :) i always have this site pinned to check the gear and what rotations/maps are on.

Thinking about it, it kinda sucks just how little new horizons has.

Like... I love the game to pieces and maybe this is just bc im in a shitty mood (which i am) but like... god this is gonna be long and ranty and I'm sorry in advance that mobile tumblr doesnt have the read more feature

For starters, holidays are all scheduled on the company's terms, meaning in 7+ years or so there will be no more in-game holidays because by then they'll probably be thinking about/getting ready to release the next installment of the series on whatever console is out at the time and they won't want to update new horizons anymore. And adding onto this, you need the internet to download the updates. What happens to the players who don't have internet?? Can they just never experience the holidays like bunny day and toy day and turkey day? That takes a HUGE part of the fun of the series out right off the bat. Sometimes making everything rely on the internet is a bad idea. Idk if anyone can like tell me if having no internet means you can't take part in the holidays, but like... god if that's true thats really sad.

They recently took out the hybrid flower and big fish islands, which makes no sense whatsoever why they would do that to a game that has so little, but ok?? It's not like that feature was hindering the gameplay any

There's a lot of furniture but Not a Lot of Furniture, you get me? They took out EVERY set except the classic set (renamed "antique") that you can buy for an insanely high price, and the log and wooden block sets that you can craft, but other that that it's all unrelated items that aren't part of any set, aside from the cute set and diner and throwback sets which as far as I can remember are the only other sets you can buy in the game. No alpine, no ranch, no minimalist, no princess or gracie, no modern or sleek, none of that. And 90% of all the buy-only furniture in the game is just the color variants. You can't even customize them! And it's hard as fuck to find the color variants you want, much less for completing a furniture set

And speaking of which, your starting villagers don't get their default house interiors. Your first three + your two starters from the tutorial days have the same generic layouts. You NEVER see what their houses are supposed to look like, and even if you give them the wallpaper and flooring they're supposed to have (if you figure that out online somewhere), their house doesn't change (I tested this with Sherb and was kinda disappointed).

And stuff is so EXPENSIVE. I know it adds a challenge but my final loan was NEVER 1 mil+ bells in New Leaf. And you can't even expand the extra first floor rooms you get. I'm literally getting less for WAY more. The biggest rooms you get are the basement and upstairs rooms. The first floor rooms aside from the main room really don't have a lot of space and with the different furniture they DO offer, I don't have a lot of room to put things in. But it's not like I can even afford it anyway -- just a freaking air conditioner was 63,000 bells. In New Leaf it was 2500. That's a MASSIVE jump. And the kitchen items are so freaking expensive, as well.

And speaking of houses, for someone who was literally in the real estate industry in the last game, tom nook adds very few house exterior options. And the even more shitty thing is that a lot of the colors straight up don't match. They couldn't even add a plain white roof.

God and the fucking DIY recipes. I know I've said this before on my other tumblr but the RNG for this game is the worst I've ever fucking seen. There is no reason why, two months into the game, I can be given a recipe for a simple DIY bench, which EVERYONE LEARNS IN THE TUTORIAL. Who the fuck am I giving it to?! No one, because literally every player knows it already, and you can't gift diy recipes to villagers! And I keep getting repeats of recipes. My villagers give me fruit DIYs all the time, it's so rare for me to get any new ones. And two days in a row I've gotten the recipe for the deer head mount thing from the same villager. New recipes should 100% take the priority before repeats. This game is slow paced, sure, but that's just frustrating. It doesn't make me excited to learn more recipes, it makes me feel like I'm never gonna learn any new ones because I'll get the same fruit DIYs for a week straight.

And speaking of which, you can't put trees, bushes, or flowers in your storage, which to me makes literally no sense. I can fit a giant ass fountain in my storage but I can't put a flower plant? Really? And speaking of storage, for a game that added 300 whole slots for mail instead of the usual 10, I will never understand why they decided to halve the amount of items a player can order a day from the nook shopping, AND make it so that it takes a whole day to get there instead of making deliveries at 9 am and 5 pm like in New Leaf.

And the fact that they made it so hard to get non native fruit and flowers and shit??? Like they at LEAST added Lief so flowers aren't as much of an issue anymore, but you actually have to travel to other people's islands just to get all the fruits?? I know you have to do the same thing in New Leaf but the reason why this is an issue for me is because you have to pay for online access, meaning most of those nook miles for planting all the fruits are locked behind a paywall unless your villagers can gift them to you. And your mom, when you first start the game, has a chance of giving you the one fruit that's on the non-native fruit mystery island, meaning you'll only get ONE new fruit and not two separate ones (for example, my sis got pears from mom but her non native fruit islands have cherries i believe. I got pears from mom and my fruit islands also have pears. Doesnt help that that's the one fruit i hate lmao). They also took OUT a bunch of fruits, like mangoes, durians, lemons, bananas, lychees, persimmons...

And the fact that your nook miles rewards are ISLAND LOCKED. That is the WORST SHIT. Not everyone has the ability to play with others, bc no internet or no money for the subscription every month. Not everyone WANTS to play with others bc maybe they get social anxiety (like me, which is why i havent asked for things that are impossible for me to get even though i want them for my island or house), or maybe they simply just don't want to. But the fact that each island has their own color variants of the same goddamn rewards that CANNOT BE CHANGED makes me so upset. I do not want nor should I have to rely on others to get the items I want because my game doesn't have my preferred color variations. And it's not like I'm far enough in the game to have anything worth trading for said items, nor do I have the bells.

And Isabelle does next to fucking nothing and I'm really irked about how they made her character in this game. Yeah she's cute, but that's ALL she is. She became more ditzy than anything else. She doesn't let you know about visitors in the town or the plaza or if a bridge or incline was built bc of a completed donation goal. Like really useful info to know would be if Flick or CJ is in town or who is selling stuff in the plaza. Flavor text is nice but if that's all you say 24/7 it loses its charm. In New Leaf she was helpful and hardworking and super focused and on top of things. Idk why they changed that aspect of her. I know her role in New Horizons isn't as big as it was in New Leaf, but still.

And then there's glitches that STILL haven't been patched (as far as I know anyway), like the game-breaking villager corruption glitch (which you'd think nintendo would have made a priority but they're too busy removing other features it seems) or the house exterior glitch.

And it's bad enough that your game saves to your fucking system a la Fantasy Life. But even WORSE, no one can have separate islands on one console. It's not enough to own two copies of New Horizons. Each player has to own one copy of the game and a whole new Switch just so they can play on their own islands. Parents can't usually afford that (aka $360 for each kid give or take) so for a game marketed towards kids, I don't know why they thought that was a smart move (well, I DO know, and that's because money, but still). And to top it all off, cloud saves are not supported normally. If you lose your game or your switch and aren't subscribed to nintendo online, well, it looks like all your progress is gone! And there's nothing you can do about it. And they directly claimed that they did this just so people can't manipulate the game because it's supposed to be played in real time. But people can still fucking time travel by setting the system's clock! They achieved nothing except to make the players frustrated!!! If you make a game you need to accept that the player is going to play how THEY want to. You shouldn't try to make everyone conform to the way YOU want them to play. That just makes you a controlling asshole and the game loses a lot of its fun.

This game was 60 bucks and they took so long to make it and we ended up with less than we got in New Leaf. The main thing they gave us was a shit ton more clothing items (which I really like). Like I said, I love this game to pieces and it's actually one of my favorite games right now. There's so much I love about it -- I certainly don't hate it or anything. But this game has SO MANY flaws, a lot of which are needless. And I think the kid in me just misses the days where you can pay for a game and get the whole game right away. No updates in tiny batches, no content locked behind paywalls, no day one patches, no reliance on internet connection and multiplayer... mainstream companies have all gone really downhill with that shit and it just disappoints me to no end. But because Nintendo is kid-oriented, I think that's where it hurts the most. It was supposed to be accessible, family friendly fun like back during the days of the Wii and the DS. But companies get so wrapped up in competing with each other and trying to make the most money that they forget about all that. I dunno. It just sucks.

If you read all this, god damn I'm surprised XD I got super ranty and I apologize. But I'm in a sad mood and I after learning about features they've taken out I just had to get all this off my chest. It's been weighing on me since the game released, especially since for months prior this game was all I could think about and I was really looking forward to it. It just let me down in a lot of ways, I guess.

I find it funny how people think Mario could measure up to Sonic in any way but gameplay really. I mean even in the beginning just looking at the enemies. Mario dies from touching touching turtles and walking mushrooms while Sonic fights robots that shoot spikes and lasers at him. Not to mention Sonic actually has a personality. I'm just so sick of "Mario is the epitome of gaming, Sonic is a blemish on the industry" kind of bullshit.

THANK YOU also mario has basically been the same old theme in most “main” games that arent fuckin tennis and shit /s save the princess. save the thing. oh now LUIGI gets to save MARIO? what a turn of events the only reason mario has the upperhand with franchise wars is because they have higher budgets for better looking games and mechanics. sega tries SO, SO hard to squeeze things out that are creative, good, and still meeting their proper budget. do you know the fucking masterpieces sega could make if they had the same budgets nintendo does?!?!?!?! like holy shit!!!! sega has flaws. anything can have flaws. but they try more than nintendo does, and their games are frankly more entertaining and dont typically drag like nintendo’s games do. sega has so so so so So much potential but unfortunately because of so many picky fans theyre so afraid of stepping out of normal boundaries. like with 06 and unleashed. those games specifically got lots of whiplash and it took about a decade for people to look back and think “you know what? maybe these games are actually good” and now its too late for that opinion to be relevant. they couldve used that sort of feedback and approval in the 2000′s. but they were afraid of more whiplash because they didnt get it. fans all rushed and begged for certain things then immediately got shit from fans for PROVIDING it. they give and give and give and they get more biased, harsh criticism than the deserving positivity sega should get! nintendo is incredibly flawed and boring overall but at yet its always HeHe Sonic Bad. even if sonics had a few embarrassing imprints on his franchise’s history at times, itd be damnable if it didnt keep him from being forgotten. creators were bold. they cared. they wanted to do shit for people. but the second one thing is out of line its targetted so harshly and so overreactively everyone else has to run behind and follow suit also. come on. you ask any friend(that has basic knowledge abt mario/nintendo) about all the mario games they know and theyll say something along the lines of “smash, mariokart, luigis mansion, tennis shit,” etc. and thats it usually you ask someone about all the sonic games they know(some1 that has basic knowledge abt sega/sonic) and theyll be progressively naming out adventure games, unleashed, forces, mania, colors, shth, generations, team sonic racing, etc. theyre RECOGNIZABLE titles, with recognizable styles, plot, mechanics, and theyre all just so good!!!!! also. i havent met a single person that said they WERENT buying the mario & sonic olympic games for the sonic part of it ASDJGNBCXNJHFDHJFH tldlr stop being so picky with sonic games and be happy with the parts you got! sonic team is trying so hard dammit and its grown to be a thankless job at this pace >:(

god so....me nd jester finished gravity falls and....GOD

i have sos oso much to say about it, (under the cut tho ofc)

but like....tl;dr.....that was easily the best show i’ve ever watched, and one of the best narrative’s i’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing

oof ok so i’ll start small

the animation in general, ESPECIALLY the scenery was rly nice

god the theme like not the theme SONG (though that will get its own bullet point)but like??the theme of the show??? the mystery feel mixed with modern stuff, and still being REALLY DARK AND HAVING GENUINE HORROR whilst still managing to be a kids show is wild

like!!! they didnt pull any punches!!! they didnt treat kids like dumbasses that would get the show!! it complex and intelligent and engaging!!!!

ok so the THEME SONG ok GOD I LOVED IT BUT....turns out bc me and jester were using dailymotion well.....uhhh 90% of the gravity falls eps on there are sped up?? (like 1:25x speed) i NEVER NOTICED i jsut thought all the eps were around 18-19 mins??? turns out thery’re actually 22, so we’ve been watching at a slightly faster pace??? we watched ONE at a slower pace and i was like ‘WHAT’ but like!! that slower pace wasthe reAL SPEED NKHDFHNJHJF its...v strange tbh bc i’ll probably rewatch them on kimcarttons bc thats’ more reliable and all in the right palce but....idk i kinda prefer the slightly sped up version??? its enough that al lthe characters still seem rly natural they didnt...seem liek they were sped up but they WERE but it means the natural ones now seem slower to me nkjkdhjfkd, either way watch the theme song on 1.25x on youtube and you’ll see my experience its....rly good

What is your most favorite thing(s) about Splatoon/Splatoon 2? What thing(s) would you want to see in a future installment if you would like to see more Splatoon in the future?

oh man… i love a lot of things about splatoon! ive played it pretty much daily since 2015 minus a few breaks here and there. its really fast paced and fun, and splatoon is really the only game i play thats like this. it just makes me really grateful to nintendo that they made a shooter game that everyone can play and that isnt too violent like every other one out there (it just… isnt my thing at all haha), i wouldve never been able to experience that sort of thing without splatoon.

as for a future installment, im not too creative with gaming aspects, but i hope they continue in the direction they have been when it comes to the story. ive been having the time of my life putting my own spin on the agents, and id love to see more agents be introduced in the future, and cameos from the other agents! if i saw agent 8 in game in splatoon 3 id d i e okay haha. i just cant wait to see where their stories go. splatoon is the only game i have semi canon characters for (im much more of an oc person, which works for this bc i can give the agents their own personalities. its really flexible), and its cool because sometimes their stories go in a different way than id expect. so id really love to see another timeskip in the next game, to see where the agents have gone and how theyre included in the new story!

Super Mario Odyssey Game Review

Super Mario Odyssey is a 3d platformer released for Nintendo Switch that is reminiscent of old 3d mario games like super mario 64 or sunshine. The game follows Mario and a newly acquired ally, Cappy, a hat that allows Mario to control enemies and allows him to perform more daring jumps. The game features mostly open-ended 3d levels to explore like New Donk City and Sand Kingdom but some of the 3d levels are quite smaller and linear like Cascade Kingdom and Moon Kingdom. Classic 2d levels also return in Super Mario Odyssey with the flat zone sections that add a change of pace to the 3d platforming and heavily resemble the original super mario bros. The biggest gameplay mechanic of the game is Cappy. Cappy can be used to attack enemies, be used as a temporary platform and most importantly control enemies/objects and possess them. This allows mario to use unique abilities that in most mario games would be a power up. This allows for very unique and creative gameplay mechanics and level design. A change from other mario games is that mario has infinite lives. So dying will only cause the player to lose coins. Coins are also much more useful in this game with shops found in every level that allow the player to buy stuff like health or costumes from mario maker outfit to his super mario 64 outfit. This game has an abundant amount of collectables, personally i say a bit too much. Most of the power moons are really fun and rewarding to find but the rest are just a chore and make you lose your sanity to trying to find them. Lastly the bosses, the bosses in this game can range from basic to really good like the final bowser boss fight that leads to a bombastic escape sequence that utilizes all the gameplay mechanics that the player has mastered by then. Overall this game is amazing and modernizes the classic Super Mario 3d Formula.

What is UI and UX? And why is it Important?

UI is user interface and UX is user experience. User interface is how the player will interact and receive information from the game. User experience is how the user is going to perceive the game in front of them, like is the information clear, its it easy to use and understand etc. UI and UX are important because thats how the user will be interacting with the game and having a clean and easy to understand screen that holds all the necessary information for the player so the player isn’t confused is needed for a game to function.

What is a Win and Lose Screen?

A Win/Lose Screen in video games is how the player knows if they beat the level or that they lose the level by running out of lives or something. Winning a level also tells the game to start the next level up or reward the player.

What is your opinion on the post from medium.com? What is the best user interface you have used and why?

I mostly agree with the list but i would change some of the games in the post for example i don’t believe assassins creed 2 should be on the list. the ui is interesting and unique but its just a lot of sub menus on sub menus which is confusing and not fun to navigate around. But other then that I mostly agree with the listing with games like destiny and persona having really good and clean UIs. Personally the best user interface is destiny/Destiny 2’s because of how clean and simple it is yet it tells you so much information without having clunky text boxes. All the information is presented really well which allows for simple and quick navigation.

Ideas for a death screen? Plan for Win and Lose Screen

I was thinking of having a death screen similar to conker's bad fur day where you see what happens to the character if you fail or something similar to Earthbound’s death screen with its more mysterious vibes. But most likely i would like a death screen that is clean and simple which allows the player to quickly return to playing the game.

I was planning on having a basic Lose Screen template that would have a different image or quote depending on where the player died or how he died and by who. For example if killed by a boss you would see a quote by the boss taunting the player with them laughing. The lose screens are gonna have three simple buttons. Restart, load and quit, cause having a cluttered screen with useless buttons and stuff would not be effective or necessary. The colours of these screens will be dark, grey and white to show that your character has died. Different colours will be used for things like showing the corpse of the player or a boss laughing at the player.

The win screen is gonna be overhauled on to the game and you will see the character walk off screen which will then show text that you have completed the level but the journey is not over. After that the player will be booted to the world map. I wanna keep the win screen very minimal and quick so the player can quickly return to playing the game and not look at boring statistics that the player really doesn’t care about.

so game related opinionions

-my oldest and most... idk even what our relationship is. anyways its a consistant thing. you arent getting rid of me

-honestly jp or nothing, i could care less abt the sprite/game appearance changes and whatnot but i really dislike/am uncomfortable w the actual language translation decisions w the eng version. it rubs me as kinda... making a spectacle of other languages and just really memey and half assed, and not genuine to the feeling of the original

-i have tbh a lot of strong feelings(tm) abt the game and its story- specifically, i kinda hate the end (last 3 chapters) of part 1, am completely apathetic and unimpressed by 1.5, and lb 1-4 at least are my lifeblood and the reason im so fired up abt this game (and regarding that, ivan and qsh best lb kings by a long way). i also adore mashu (and olga marie, and gordolf, and meuniere, and both da vincis, and holmes, and captain, and..) and still have a consistent soft spot for my starting servants (like first ehhh 2ish months of the game, maybe first year ish in general) despite losing interest/enjoyment in some of their appearances later in games (alters, the authors, for instance) im still fond of the versions of them that have been w my guda and squad for so long.

-that being said i do have strong feelings(tm) regarding guda relationships but only w my oc gudas- basically like my take on the ingame guda(s) of my game specifically. like dont catch me w generic gudamashu or guda/anyone tbh, unless its like ova/movie ritsuka, whos cool but not a big fave. and despite this, i still kinda feel uncomfortable w ppl self inserting through guda to heck dr roman, seeing as i see him as mashu’s father figure

-not necessarily go specific but a lot of the more recent protagonist-ish characters make me uncomfortable (the male protagonists besides aformentioned ritsuka, and i dont mind but dont rlly care either way abt anime hakuno, sieg is fine, but the others are kinda shit tho thats not my focus), i really cant put my finger on it tbh. it just... seems like uncomfortable to me. ig bc theyre supposed to be really “cute” and “likeable” but they kinda seem just like tools/fitting a mold? but then again im really not sure for sure why.

-first of all fk book 3′s story, fk the main trio, fk the fanbase for this game especially. bunch of assholes who cant handle pretty ladies and think theyre so smart and edgy for not liking them and instead liking the blandest boys. book 3′s story is so pointless and basically just a f/s/n ripoff plotwise, and the related things like fb and tt just cement my uncomfortableness/hatred for it

-but other than that.... tbh its a super cute concept of a game. its totes playable, doesnt have the required difficulty spikes like go, and is actually pretty kind w drop rates/5 stars availability. a lot of things i think work for it, and i dont mind that it doesnt have the same things as go, and vice versa. if theres one thing i really dont like is the “hidden stats” bs, but thats like a long running nintendo thing so i dont think its gonna change, nor do i expect it to

-i do think it kinda sucks at pacing tho. and has way too many seasonal banners to proportion of new banner/non seasonal character releases (esp since some seasonal/theme banners are “new character” ones, like cyl (x2) and fallen heroes)

-this game is broken and not in a good way. barely functions, absolute shit gacha, ive been struggling to hold interest in it and am only still suffering through it bc im a sucker for detective stories. the story/characters are really hypocritical and too much of it is either “no stakes slice of life uwu” or “UGHHH so EDGY Story Relevant(tm)!!!1!” and it really makes it kinda.... unbearable tbh.

-i also think its kinda becoming cheap, what with never giving free characters anymore, and overly obsessed w the characters it deems “story relevant/popular”. i dont think it helps that a lot of my faves are npcs, and ive kinda lost hope of them being playable (cept maybe caro.... and belial in 5 years)

-oh gosh where do i start.. i am loving this wild thing! its the closest i can get to playing kabukicho e youkoso again, and at least i get to see my boy, even if its understandably not voiced (what with being based on manga rather than anime). its super cute, has the same vibe as f-h with being a crossover, and i am living rn. i hope theres a jojo event in the future, seeing as theres barely any joj now, but i dont mind. if anything ill try to keep it up if just to say hello to nizou. thank you for reuniting me w him im so arigatoful
