The Archeron Sisters, the Artistic Expression of the Self, & the Mating Bond
Throughout ACOTAR, each Archeron sister has three important components coloring their respective stories: an artistic expression of the self, a healing journey aligned with that expression, and an entwining of that expression with their endgame romantic partner. For Feyre, that expression is painting, for Nesta it's music and dance, and for Elain, theoretically, it is baking and gardening.
On the other side, each sister also has a more warlike aspect of the Self, which is embraced throughout the series, and serves as a dichotomy to the "softer" natures of their personalities. For instance, Feyre is well known to be a huntress, and Nesta establishes herself as a Valkyrie/warrior. Elain's more "warlike" side is yet to be explored.
For the purposes of considering how Elain's story will progress, I will be focusing moreso on the artistic expression of the Self as it pertains to her sisters, and how it serves as a sacred tool to strengthen the connection between her sisters and their mates. (I mainly introduced the warlike self to bring up some questions about Elain at the end.)
Disclaimer: I am not mentioning ANY ship in relation to Elain here. I just want to put the information out there and let people think on it.
Feyre: Artist/Huntress
Early on in ACOTAR, we learn two things about Feyre: she is a hunter (her "warlike self") and an artist. We learn painting is an important outlet for her which she uses to "brighten" the dark spaces of the Archeron's home. We see her journey with her art blossom, unravel, and come back even stronger. It's such an integral part of her character that Rhy's first introduction to her, after the initial series of random images, was of her hand painting:
"until one of the images was of a hand...This beautiful, human hand. Holding a brush. Painting -- flowers on a table."
Later, in ACOMAF, we know her struggles with PTSD kept her from being able to paint anything, gradually getting inspiration for paintings as the story progresses, until she is finally able to paint something again -- on Rhys.
"I had just painted something. On him. For him. I'd--painted again."
Rhys, despite not being an artist himself, mirrors this action by painting on Feyre before they make love after culminating their mating bond:
"he took that hand and traced a circle around my breast, then lower, until he painted a downward arrow beneath my belly button"
So, here we see Rhys, her mate, entwined with her artistic expression of the Self; painting. We can also see how her painting played a major role in her healing and rediscovering herself and self sovereignty.
Nesta: Dancer(Music-Lover)/Warrior
In ACOSF, we learn from Elain that Nesta is a prolific dancer with a seemingly spiritual connection to music:
"(Nesta) was trained in dance from a very young age. She loves it, and music...in the way that performers make an art of it."
"You haven't seen her on the dance floor. That's when Nesta truly lets the wolf roam free. When there's music."
We see glimpses of moments throughout ACOSF when Nesta seeks out music as a respite from her suffering:
"when he'd dragged (Nesta) out of a particular seedy tavern, (she revealed) she had been there for the music"
She even uses musicality to describe her love for Cassian:
“Nesta could have sworn the blade hanging from her belt hummed in answer. As if it liked the sound of his voice as much as she did”
“For it was music between their souls. Always had been. And his voice was her favorite melody.”
Later on, Cassian "(finds) a way for her to have music --always" by gifting her the Symphonia, revealing that he traveled to all of her favorite taverns to record her favorite songs and that he got the musicians in the Hewn City to perform their entire set just for her. Additionally, he learns how to dance for her so they can share a dance in Hewn City, thus entwining himself with both of Nesta's artistic expressions of the Self.
With both Feyre and Nesta, their two "expressions" are present right before an intense moment of connection with their mate. With Feyre and Rhys, they make love in paint after she had a burst of inspiration to paint the entire cabin. With Nesta and Cassian, she is gifted the Symphonia and then they make love after her successful dance-mission in Hewn City. Both females master that part of themselves in some way before the mate steps in to honor that part of their soul, mirroring it back to them in some way, before they deeply connect.
Elain: Baking & Gardening / ???
For Elain, I have a few questions to present for consideration:
We have already seen how baking and gardening has a healing effect on Elain - is this her own artistic expression of the Self? If the beautiful Bread and Roses theory stands, then I would say yes. (I would also say this helps strengthen the Bread & Roses theory, simply because the imagery has now presented itself as something important enough to be noticed by Bryce). I believe to confirm this, we either need her POV to explain her own connection to these things, or someone else's observance of how she makes baking and gardening an artform.
Who in the series is already "entwined" in Elain's love for baking and gardening? (I'm talking powerful imagery, I'm talking shared moments, etc etc.)
What is Elain's dark side? We know she has the moniker of Kingslayer, we know she has Seer abilities; are these aspects of her dark side or is it something else we haven't yet explored? Since each of her sisters has these dualities present, it would only make sense that she has a dualistic nature as well.
How will Elain's baking and gardening continue to contribute to her story, her self sovereignty?
How will it lead to the culmination of her union with her chosen romantic partner? (This is just fun to think about, tbh. How is this going to manifest narratively? Are they making love in a field of flowers? Is she going to be gifted flowers?? The possibilities are endless, and, quite frankly, cute as hell.)
Either way, if we follow the same format as her sisters, we can start to imagine different possibilities for the path that Elain's journey will take. Especially if we look at it through this lens. Personally, I'm really looking forward to seeing what Elain's "warlike" side is, or how that will even manifest itself in a way that is in character for her.

On that note of Hugh Grant, the problem with Bridget Jones is that I find Bridget completely insufferable and I want her to end up with Hugh Grant instead of Mark Darcy, and I don't find Mark Darcy all that charming either. Hugh Grant is not a good translation of Mr. Wickham and overall the whole thing doesn't make much sense for a Pride & Prejudice redux because it lacks the social context which carries it, but that by virtue makes him less of a reprehensible character (like Wickham who is completely inappropriate. Wickham running off with Lizzie's baby sister after trying that stunt with Darcy's baby sister is different from running off with Darcy's fiancée).
But then you would be writing a romance about two insufferable and morally questionable people, and it's not really a romcom anymore. It would've been funnier though.

Steph the Alter Nerd is reading Omid’s new book.
Following the live read:
I joined late so Steph was already reading. She was starting the Sophie section. Seriously, why pick on Sophie who just puts her head down and focuses on work? That’s strikes me as unnecessarily vile.
Omid apparently thinks Charles hasn’t modernized the monarchy. Dude is an environmental icon and we now have a blended family in BP. That may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but you can’t deny that it’s modern.
Apparently Omid writes pages and pages about Charles’ “leaky pen” incident. It’s just a pen, Omid. Omid thinks this means Charles may not be up to the job, lololol. I’m dying. Mind you, Omid worships Harry who stripped in Vegas, wore a Nazi uniform, and called his fellow soldiers names. But yes, the leaky pen is far more significant than all that, somehow.
Really boring part about government stuff. Charles negotiates and reaches compromises with the government and that’s apparently bad? Also, Charles didn’t know what to expect after he became King??? Lolololol.
Charles lost sympathy for the Harkles after the documentary. Well, duh. We all did, Omid. That documentary was a huge own goal.
He blames the Royal Family for the documentary’s melodrama? Seriously? Who was crying on Oprah? Who was crying in a rented Vancouver mansion with her head wrapped in a towel? Who dropped hot, salty tears on her Hermes blanket? That’s the person responsible for the melodrama.
Anne supposedly kicked them out of Frogmore. I suspect this is fanfiction, but I love it. I want it to be true. This is my headcanon now.
And I do thin fanfiction is the right term for this book. The BRF is super popular right now so the book thesis itself (that the BRF is in trouble) is pretty fantastical.
This book seems very, very boring. Omid seems to be desperately trying to argue that Charles’ first year went badly, but that’s just not reality. Omid used to be better at spinning than this.
Make the Royals Great Again? Uh, that was done in 2011. Everything we are seeing now was planted way back then, down to Kate’s leafy crown. There’s a general lack of both self-awareness and historical awareness in this book. Omid writes like someone who first became a “royal reporter” in 2016…which is exactly what he is. Too bad, because I do think there’s an interesting analysis that could be made regarding 2023 and it’s place in royal pr. That’s above Omid’s pay grade though.
Lol, Omid discusses UK politics and it’s every bit as much of a disaster as one would expect. Stick to gossip, Omid.
Ok, Steph’s hydrating, so let’s step back for a minute and recall what this book was supposed to be. This was to be “Finding Freedom 2.0,” a chronicle of the Harkle post-Megxit success story. The publishers clearly didn’t like that and they made Omid write a book about the family as a whole. That’s because there was no Harkle success story and the publisher didn’t think another Harkle book would sell. Unfortunately, Omid is a Harkle specialist. He can’t write a book about the family (let alone successfully argue for its imminent demise). He simply doesn’t know enough.
Back to Steph. We’re now in Harry’s military service? Er, why? We jumped from 2023 to 2016 and now to the Afghanistan War?
I agree with Steph that Omid’s trying to associate the royals with MAGA and I can’t even articulate how stupid that is. Completely different countries, completely different cultures, completely different iconography. Just doesn’t work.
Now we’re at the Coronation Concert? The royals are in trouble because Elton wasn’t at the concert! Lolololol. The Harkle bubble is out of this world. Basically, if their inner circle wasn’t centered (Oprah, Elton, Omid, etc…), it’s because of a MAGA conspiracy that will bring the royals down.
Something, something throne. Charles looked awkward again. Constitutional crisis!
I feel like I’m grading student briefs. There’s a way to argue this and there is evidence you can cite for this argument, but this isn’t it. You shouldn’t write pages and pages about a leaky pen and then minimize the bags of charity money as “perception.” You should start with the bags of charity money then use the leaky pen to bolster the “perception” argument.
Another disagreement with the government. Aargh! That should be lumped together with the other arguments with the government. Or it shouldn’t be mentioned at all. You’re arguing that Charles is and old-fashioned idiot who is not a good king, so why make him look like someone who is aware of current social issues and engaged with his government?
Racism. Finally! No wait, it’s boring.
Charles had an affair with Camilla. Lol, that’s not exactly news, love. The time jumping is driving me nuts.
Took a break to let the dog out and now we’re in Andrew’s interview. Of course we are.
Will exiled Andrew. I hope this is true. Wait, that’s the famous “power struggle”? Andrew??? I don’t think that’s a power struggle. That’s just Charles passing the buck.

regarding your previous anon I just wanted to say that in a fairly recent livestream/interview deal she did in the last few years she said 'not much has changed since my initial drunken ramblings in the beginning' I'm paraphrasing there, but I don't think she's gonna make any big ship changes when she's close to wrapping up the series (also it was so funny to see e/riel's being all over that like it was ever planned from the beginning lololol)

If you ever find out exactly which one that was, I would love to know because I remember hearing that but have since forgotten where so I was never able to include a screenshot or link in my posts. She said "not much has changed from that initial pitch but the world has now expanded".
If we think back to that drunken rambling and when she pitched her ideas to her then editor, we were told a few things.
She said she knew who the first two spin-off books would be about but she was keeping the third open. For the third, she was debating between 5 possible ships and was considering a book set Pre ACOTAR.
That particular drunk lunch took place in 2016 (I'm guessing) as she was still drafting ACOWAR.
If, in 2016, she knew who the first two spin-off books would be about then logically, who did that mean?
Nesta and Elain. Especially when she says in multiple interviews she would love to tell the sisters stories one day and we know she had already done research for Elain's book while pregnant with her first child who was born in June of 2018.
Who also had the most buildup as a possible love interest for the sisters in ACOMAF / ACOWAR? (around the same time she said she knew who she wanted the first two books to be about?).
Cassian and Lucien hands down. Lucien's ENTIRE story in ACOWAR was based around worrying for Elain's safety, fighting his way to be by her side, helping her through her depression, going after an army based on her vision, giving her time to deal with her engagement to Graysen, running all the way from the shore to find her after battle, his having met her father, her inviting him back to Velaris, him standing beside her during the meeting at the end of the book.
Az and Elain might have had a few "moments" in ACOWAR that E/riels use for their proof of endgame but Az was still 100% in love with Mor when you consider that he still looked at her with hunger in ACOFAS while Elain was sitting in the room with him. The question at the end of ACOWAR was not "will Elain and Az get together" but "what will Elain and Lucien do about her mating bond now that she invited him back to Velaris". When the author wasn't sure who was getting the third book and everything suggests Elain was getting the second, all signs pointed to Elain and Lucien as the main POV especially when you consider that as an individual Lucien also had way more buildup than Az in ACOWAR. He was SA by Ianthe, chased out of his home in Spring, was feeling sadness over not having a home when Feyre slipped into his head, guilt over Jesminda, the pull to Elain, the reader (but not Lucien himself) finding out Helion is his actual father, and he fought in his first war. SJM left us with too many unresolved plots for Lucien to not give him a book.
It wasn't until after the release of SF and she was discussing it that she made the comment above "my plan for the intial spin-offs didn't change but the world expanded."
And you know what expanded?
Az suddenly got a bit more of a mysterious background, he got a bonus with hints of a possible mating bond, and SJM introduced the possibility of time-travel what with Merrill's research and the Trove's ability to open doors between worlds. Az ended up connected to the crossover.
THEN it was later announced that she was contracted for additional books (and maybe a new series).
If her intial plan didn't change then Nessian and Elucien were always going to be resolved first and now Az's romantic arc / journey is the direction she decided to take things after finishing the main story of the Archern sisters.
Yes, Az and Elain nearly kissed and had a harmless flirtation going on but it never got off the ground did it?
Ever since the Elucien bond snapped into place, the real question has not been "will Elain and Az end up together" but "will Elain and Lucien end up accepting their mating bond?" And just as SJM had Nesta share experiences with others before ending up with Cassian, she had Elain attempt to have an experience with Az but I don't think he was ever meant to be more than a slight detour in the Elucien journey so as to make their path to one another a bit more tension filled. And I think the reason SJM introduced Az's possible mate in his bonus is that she didn't want readers to feel bad for him for too long because even though she's on track for an Elucien endgame, we know that Az isn't going to be sad for very long as he's got his own mate waiting in the wings.

1. the character everyone gets wrong
Red X. No one seems to understand that his identity wasn't the point. It didn't matter who was underneath the mask. He wasn't anyone. He wasn't supposed to be anyone. Not anyone significant or familiar anyways.
He was just a random ass kid who liked the thrill of the heist, decided on a whim to break into Titans Tower, and lucked into the biggest score of his career. He doesn't need any more deep backstory than that.
People always go the laziest stalest most boring route and make him Jason Todd anyway, despite how that would absolutely never work in the TT continuity.

It's a good thing we're limiting this to Tumblr because boooooooooy did I see some bullshit back in the day, lol.
Probably the worst bit of fanwank on Tumblr for the TT fandom is the mindless endless, "BBRae is abusive and toxic!!!!" whinging.
No they're not, they're friends whose personalities can sometimes clash very abrasively but when the chips are down they'd do anything for each other, it's fine if you don't like their dynamic but not every tiny bit of conflict or disagreement or not getting along between characters is automatically a toxic relationship.
Oh and there was also the time RobRae shippers tried to kickstart their own Zutara-esque, "We were supposed to be endgame the whole time guys, the creators totally said so, promise!" conspiracy.
And the time fandom tried to incorporate Teen Titans into the "Cartoon Network cancels superhero shows because too many girls watch them!" nonsense.
6. which ship fans are the most annoying?

It's a lot less now, now that they've essentially been subsumed and absorbed almost entirely by the DamiRae shipbase (and that's a rant for another day lololol) but the TT fandom was baby Tari's first shipwar and introduced me to so many ~*wonderful*~ concepts like:
Slutshaming the female rival is a totally valid argument, and not base misogyny at all.
Reducing the rival ship to its most surface level characteristics is okay when we do it.
Canon ships having any kind of relationship progress or development is "forced".
"Chemistry" means "the ship dynamic I like".
Wanting to pull someone out of their clearly-narratively-depicted self-destructive habits is bad actually.
Shipping fanon is a subversive act of rebellion and revolution against oppressive unfair norms. (AKA "Shipping is Social Justice Activism" before that was a thing.)
Fanon shippers are just naturally smarter and better than people who enjoy the canon romance as presented.
And many other highlights!
Yeah, I don't miss that drama and that's one of the reasons I don't want a revival or a Season Six, because then I'd have to deal with these idiots all over again.

A few days ago you asked about a memorable scene from one of your fic but I can't choose just one 😏:
- when TPFY! Ginny falls from her broom and Harry goes full bodyguard mode and carries her back home in his arms
- when AG! Harry cries his heart out in Ginny's embrace (god. This scene still hurts) (I guess I just like watching her fall from her broom, poor girl lololol)
- TPFY!Harry *finally* speaking to the *bloody house* and saying he's sorry 💔
OMGG i really should post that chap of harry’s pov after he takes ginny home but before she wakes up…. this is a good reminder. maybe i’ll have a missing moment or something soon!

Let me preface this by saying that if you like sol/angelo that's fine and dandy. I'm not saying that ppl who like it have bad taste or are dumb in any way. So this isn't an attack on anyone, just my personal opinion! Also I'm a jas/ico shipper and I genuinely think they should have been endgame so obviously I'm biased and I admit to that 100%.
In my opinion, there really there isn't anything inherently wrong with sol/angelo, I just think it's boring? Rick has a horrible habit of pairing up literally everyone with a few notable exceptions (Reyna, Thalia, etc). Hell, he paired up Leo with Calypso (which is another ship I dislike). Obviously I exaggerate my dislike for the ship sometimes for comedic effect but really I just feel so apathetic to it.
Rick brings back this side character from pjo to randomly pair Nico up with in the last book of HOO and I just don't see the chemistry really. And the little I've seen of their interactions post HOO it seems like Rick is going for the "Nico is sooo broken but good thing he has a healer sunshine boyfriend now 💓💝!! Light and darkness isn't that cute??"
And I'm just like... Yeah but where is the chemistry. Idk maybe I shouldnt expect too much from a relationship between two 15 year olds but... Jas/ico really had much more going for it in terms of potential. They are complete opposites. They both struggle to find a home/family. They both had expectations placed upon them based on their heritage. They both lost their older sisters in some way. They both had a strong theme of loneliness and isolation, but manifested in different ways. Also Rick has no clue he strongly bi-coded Jason and it would have been so satisfying if we saw both of them come to terms with their sexuality in two different ways that encapsulated how lgbt people are often treated in media. Jason, who started the books with no clear memories/ sense of identity and quickly got into a doomed to fail het relationship literally set up by the goddess of marriage, a commentary on heteronormativity (which was the arc Piper got instead... We could have had wlw mlm solidarity jas/iper guys). Nico, a gay boy from the 1940s, had a one sided crush on straight as a rod Percy... Like man it was all there.
I can't really talk about why I dislike about sol/angelo without going off about the missed potential of jas/ico because really my beef isn't with sol/angelo itself or will sol/ace (I genuinely Do Not Care about him), its mostly with how there could have been so much more to it and there isn't.
But! I genuinely hope sol/angelo shippers get everything they could ever want from the new book! My beef is with Ricky.

Hiiiii, Tiff. I'm new here on your Tumblr and I don't have an ao3 account so this is my first time commenting, even though I've been following tbaw since april (?) I think. Anyways, I got my Tumblr account back just to follow you haha.
Giiiiiirl were do I start. So first of all tbaw is the only story I religiously follow and never forget about and every fucking tuesday is like Christmas to me istg. Even back in june-july when I was busy with my uni thesis and was slowly dying lol I kept reading every chapter and it was such a joy to be able to relax and take a break and escape in the fantasy. And now check the new chapters at work. Guilty 😅
Also, apparently you also wrote that Eren camping smut fic, omfggggg it's so good, easily one of my top fave Eren oneshots.
The way you write dialogues??? Fucking amazing. The interaction between the characters... I literally get lost in that reality and feel every single one of the characters. They are so humane. The tension, the attraction, the love, the hatred, everything feels so real when your characters interact. It's astonishing.
Now, I was team Eren from the start (yes, I am an Eren girl lol), I wasn't opposed to Jean, he is my second favorite from aot, but! Eren was so fucking charming in this fic, I just couldn't get into Jean I'm sorry. He gives mixed signals and we don't approve those in my house fiehdhdj. But Eren was perfect in every fucking way, which was suspicious and now we know the truth sadly.
I can't believe that after the big reveal so many people were shitting on Eren and they switched sides lololol. Like it was kinda obvious tbh. Well not obvious, but expected.
Idc what other people think, but I do believe Eren wants to change and will do that.
Now! As for the reader. Ofc she can't forgive him that easily, I wouldn't. And I do believe they both should work on themselves first and then they could develop a healthy relationship. It would only feel fair for the reader to see Eren really change. And I still want him to be endgame.
Honestly I'm just biased cause I love him lmao, he looks like my bf 💀 objectively, reader should seek her own path, Jean and Eren should figure their shit and forgive each other and be friends again. And then we can see a healthy relationship develop with one of them and a strong friendship with the other. I just see Eren as the best fit because they have really good chemistry. Idk tho, I said I'm biased. He was so cute in the last chapter with the date I was cryiiinnnggggg. 😭 Literally a cute lil cinnamon roll djdkdhekd

thank you so much!! i put a lot of importance in the dialogue because it can say a lot more than just what the characters are saying.... if that makes sense lol like what they choose to reveal vs. what they keep to themselves adds an extra element to dialogue aside from the actual words they're saying idk idk but i'm glad you like my dialogue 😭😭
i think some people, like reader, are quite taken aback by the reality of what eren's done. it's easy to forgive him when you're only told vague details and you see him act cute, but seeing this "darker" side of him come out (even though characters have been warning us about this almost the entire story) is really jarring and it affects some people more than others.
damn, you're lucky to have an eren all to yourself!! hopefully he doesn't treat you like groupchat!eren 💀💀

1. what's the fic youre most proud of?
Honestly, my current longfic WIP (Lent From Tomorrow) is easily the best thing I've ever written, fic or original work. But I'm proud of most of my longer-than-a-drabble fics for something or another.
I'm very proud of the Five Places Cinna Came From for actually finishing the whole thing, and same with Milliefic.
(The longer it's been since writing Milliefic, the more I'm like, 'its only real redeeming value is having finished something of that length, especially posting as I wrote,' but that's just me letting Larries spoil my fandom experience, I think.)
I'm proud of every Big Bang or Mini Bang fic I've actually finished and posted. I think Not In The Answer But The Question is currently the best fic on my AO3, probably, although I do think that I had to flub the pacing on the last quarter to meet the deadline. I still to this day think that Valor Valeria and What They Don't Tell You In History hold up, and they're old as heck, so that says something.
I actually really love the Stereo Kicks/H*rry P*tter world crossover that @fille-lioncelle and I wrote? It's paced well, IMO, and I think we took a fairly unique take on that trope by making them all adults and out of school.
I love all of the Since Feeling Is First stories that @nichestars and I wrote, even though it drives the OCD part of my brain a little nuts that we're three words short of an even 100,000 on the series, LOLOLOL.
I don't know that there's any one fic that I'm like "THIS IS MY PERFECT MASTERWERK" about, because I don't do like, extensive rewriting or whatever on fic and I know that I don't quite meet any lofty goals of having Symbolism! or Theme! that I try for with longer stuff, but there are aspects of pretty much everything longer than a drabble that I can take pride in. I try hard to be gentler to myself about the quality of my output than I used to be, because being cruel to myself just made me Not Write At All, and that's the opposite of the point, so.
11. Has a fic you’ve written ever caused issues/controversy?
Well, the Fanlore page for the "Timeline of 1D Fandom" says that Milliefic created some of the Larrie Truther tropes, and I've accepted that even though I don't GET it because it's CLEARLY ALL MADE UP OUT OF MY DUMB HEAD, but that would count as causing issues, for sure.
Landslide got (and still gets) inane hate for having M/F sex scenes even though it's M/M endgame. WAYYYYY back in the day, I wrote an Alec/Clary fic before Alec came out as monosexually gay in the Shadowhunter books, and every so often someone reads it without seeing that it was written in like 2010 and they get angry about me making a gay character bi (which would be fair if I'd done it after he came out as gay, but ::shrug::).
I feel like I vaguely recall someone trying to stir up something about my THG fic when The Panem Companion was announced, but they're completely separate works that have nothing to do with each other, so I feel like if there WAS drama about it, I wasn't actually aware of it.
But yeah, Milliefic takes the cake on that one.

I know!! I get people are excited (they’re obv not Buffalo Bills fans lmao) but it’s clear they literally met in person for the first time yesterday. And on the other hand, there are tons of people saying it’s PR and nothing more like….can we all just be normal lololol!!

i'm confused to why is it difficult for you to both shit byler and the fruity bunch? this is an honest question.
(I'm gonna assume you meant ship and not shit lololol)
It SHOULDN'T be difficult, but I'm noticed some hostility towards the fruity four ships from my Byler nation (mostly Steve/Eddie antis, occasional Ronance antis but it's mainly Steddie antis). Super strange to me, since the ships have absolutely nothing to do with Byler, unlike Melvin.
I get why some people wouldn't love Ronance if they are hardcore Rovickie stans, but strangely I get less hate for posts about them than Steddie (who aren't problematic in any way as an MLM ship between consenting adults and doesn't include someone like Billy).
Idk, I have so much I want to say about my favorite ships, but I just know when I talk about anything Fruity Four and especially Steddie-related, I'll either get hate or radio silence. :(
So I mostly stick to Byler here. Which is fine, because they are my all-time #1 OTP endgame ship, but it sometimes feels like being bi in a het-passing relationship, while living in a place where you don't feel safe to be out to people about the complete picture of your sexuality lol

Mgggmmmmm thinking about threshold au Kathryn meeting up with Mark after endgame hahaha,,,,, curious to ponder if maybe prior to that time if he’d try to reach out to Gretchen and ask about her,,,, and whether or not gretchen would disclose what all had happened to Kathryn along with the fact that she has children now,,,,,,,,,,, Maybe prior to that,,,, after voyager was able to contact earth and everything and Kathryn was able to talk with her mother like,,,, maybe gretchen would ask Kathryn if shed like for gretchen to tell mark anything or if Kathryn would like for him to know as little as possible about her life,,,,,,,, im honestly uncertain which way shed lean on that I can see both ngl! Cause I can easily see them both reuniting once she’s back on earth and just having a LONG (and kinda sad/reminiscent) conversation about everything,,,, how mark had waited until he didnt,,,, how Kathryn hadn’t intended to be stuck with three children she didnt want with a man she didnt love, etc…
I suppose what I fluctuate on is like,,, what all mark would KNOW about Kathryn’s life in the DQ prior to them being reunited. Like maybe he hadnt seen pictures of her but knew something had changed based on gretchens vague mentions of it,,,,, idk if Kathryn would want for him to know about her babies ahahahrggh,,,,,,,, It’d be cute if when they meet he recognizes her instantly and she probably admits like “I thought you wouldnt recognize me like this” or something and he’d remark on her commanding self assured presence she emits from vast distances or something hahaha. But eventually theyd probably talk about their children and maybe mark would chuckle at the fact that Kathryn got stuck having to name not one but THREE kids hahaha, maybe child naming was something she was never inclined to put much thought into when they were together,,,,,, like Philippa again was a name that he’d have liked and suggested they use hehe,,,,,,, obviously shed confess to using the name he’d wanted to name their own child :3 and maybe he’d be glad she did because mark ended up having a son :)))
Oh my gosh though hahaha its cute to think too that this would probably be before Kathryn and chakotay really got together (if implied to do so in Full Circle) and like maybe after hearing mark talk about his wife and everything she starts thinking like hmmmmmmmmm idk maybe shed admit to who her super crush is with mark lololol ❤️ talking about child rearing and everything and how chakotays been by her side through it all but she’s unsure of their future,,,,,, maybe he’d tell her she wont know til she tries :)

Tom be pushing that Ethan and Ilsa endgame romance really hard 😭 it’s starting to work on me I fear but I’m trying to resist help me lololol
fksdjfs I can't with Ethan/Ilsa as a romance plot because it just seems so... antithetical to both characters like i'll listen to the Rogue Nation commentary with Tom and Chris and Tom will say:
"So i imagined this as a date movie" and i'll be listening to that like:
no hate to y'all who enjoy it, in fact i'm actually quite taken by Ethan/Ilsa/Benji but as it stands now in the context of canon it's not something i'm fully behind, especially because i love Ilsa on her own she's such an interesting character.
