Semifinals, Poll 4
Japanese Paradise-Flycatcher vs Pink Robin
sources under the cut
Japanese Paradise-Flycatcher (Terpsiphone atrocaudata)
"The song is rendered in Japanese as tsuki-hi-hoshi, hoi-hoi-hoi, which translates to Moon-Sun-Stars and gives the Japanese name of the bird sankōchō (literally, bird of three lights, i.e. moon, sun, star, from san three + kō lights + chō bird)." - Wikipedia
eBird sightings: 5,144; IUCN Redlist Rating: Near Threatened
Also known as the Black Paradise Flycatcher, this bird breeds in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the northern edge of the Phillipines. While other members of its genus may have long tails, only the Seychelles Paradise Flycatcher can truly match the length of this species.
Pink Robin (Petroica rodinogaster)
Not a European Robin or an American Robin, but a secret, third thing.
(An Australian Robin)
eBird sightings: 4,981; IUCN Redlist Rating: Least Concern
The placement of Petroicidae, the family of the Pink Robin, on the songbird family tree is uncertain, but the current theory is that they are an early offshoot of the 'Passerida' parvorder, otherwise known as "advanced songbirds". This would put them outside of a lot of other Australian songbirds, who belong to the 'Corvida' parvorder. (A parvorder is basically as granular as you can get withing the 'Order' classification before you have to call something a 'Family' instead. Taxonomy is complicated)

is there any CG from DR69 that you would like to redraw based on your drawing progress? i would like to see it!
and, if this question is not too annoying, are there any approximate ideas about the release date of the new chapter? in almost two months there will be a year without updates
(i use a translator, sorry for the mistakes if they are too noticeable. good luck with your job!)
Aside from probably wanting to redraw them all (lol), I do have one stand-out CG in particular I've always wanted to have another go at for some reason, being this one from ch3:
That moment in the script when you gotta drive the emotionless "yandere" to vulnerability and play out her greatest fear of everyone losing their trust in her 👍👍👍
Also, about your question on DR96's next chapter, I was a bit caught up in some things outside of working on the fic, but now that I'm free from that, I'm trying my hardest to get a mixture of writing and art in! I do aim to get ch4 all finished before the end of August, but I can't make any promises.

I need to feel intimidated by work. It needs to feel dangerous or impossible for me. If it feels like I know how to play that, I'm not really interested. It needs to feel like a huge leap.
Our boi Cillian, during the Vanity Fair Oppenheimer oral history interview. I love getting these insights into his process, as well as the tidbits that can be gleaned about his character as a person.

my hot take is that c!quackity was never a real threat except for the prison lore and the execution. And both ended with him losing a life by being killed pretty easily. And i love that for him, he's trying too hard to be intimidating but it just makes him look silly
Respectfully anon this is what I meant about the hot takes stuff 😭 like this is the central point of his character … his inability to make a solid impact and lack of being perceived as a threat or someone worth respecting at every level is LITERALLY what drives c!q’s whole arc . Like ur right he’s not much of a threat at all and failchamps at being intimidating consistently this is also like the whole point …?
