@jeoseungsaja sent in: BUT ALSO "You can tell me." (Hyurick iN THE BLACK KNIGHT VERSE 👀) || emotional vulnerability all of my muses’ worst nightmare great 🙃 ( ft. you can tell me meme )
A bitter laugh. His arm stings, a bullet having grazed it, ripping through the fabric above. It’s like a wall, wound after wound piling on top of one another. But it’s all good, the human body is meant to be regenerative- as long as he can walk and fight, he can take as many as NECESSARY.
Although perhaps the Black Knight would have preferred for the bullets to graze well, maybe lower.
Anywhere that doesn’t intersect with the burn scars. But then again, he supposes that would quite the demand- asking the bullets to avoid his arms, his shoulders, and his neck. The easiest places for someone to strike.
( The oil they poured on him trickled down like water and when the roads were paved, the FLAMES followed that path. )
It doesn’t take an expert to know they’re scars from long ago, but Hyuk would know from first glance they’re burn scars. He’s seen his fair share of burns throughout his time at Gangnam Station. That, and that young woman taking up his apartment, the one who occasionally feeds the pigeons with Myungdae, Suki, he’s probably seen her scars up close for long enough to recognize severe ones when he sees them.
“And why would you want to know? I’m not your friend. You’ve already made it very clear you couldn’t care less about what happens to me.” Well it’s the TRUTH, isn’t it? The Black Knight keeps breaking into his office, threatens to stab him on a frequent enough basis, and spits on the memory of himself Hyuk’s dear dead friend. Understandably, Hyuk would be hostile. Bitter.  The only reason Hyuk doesn’t fight him on it is that the Black Knight is his only means of getting closer to the truth. Or so the detective thinks.
Tumblr media
( Perhaps it’s getting to be that time. Breaking the partnership, for Hyuk’s SAFETY. Patrick will be alone again, but at least Hyuk will be safe. )
And yet the Black Knight averts his gaze, chastised. The hat shifts to one side- he readjusts it, finger rubbing over the brim. He shouldn’t have said that. That’s not like him, this bitterness welling up and bleeding through like an open wound.
But then again, it not like Hyuk either, showing open concern. Let alone insisting the Black Knight’s arm needs treatment.
Ironically though, it’s probably the most open Patrick has been with his dear friend in years. So Patrick can’t lie to Hyuk, even with the mask and the tall collar covering his face. That doesn’t mean he can’t withhold information or EMOTIONS for that matter.
That doesn’t count as lying. Not really.
( Pawn would point out that sounds more like an excuse. )
“You think you’re the only one with a vendetta?” He turns away sharply, ripping his arm out of Hyuk’s grasp. It burns now, unable to differentiate between current pain and GHOST of older ones. “You do realize you’re your friend wasn’t the only one ANACHRON made an example out of.”
#gun tw#trigger warning bc of the image :D#jeoseungsaja#jeoseungsaja ( ft. lee hyuk )#i having made you “a liar” would turn your lies into truths ( ft. patrick & hyuk || black knight verse )#( verse: a knight is never without their sword. )#you: gives me sweetness with hyuk and mrs nam- I SAW THAT AND I WANNA RESPOND/REACT TO THAT SOON 🥲#me: *this happens HESJJSJDJE 😭😭😭*#PATRICK GRACE- WHAT ARE YOU DOING#NO#C’MON ur best friend is just trying to be a decent person and THIS IS WHAT U DO#literally you wouldn’t be in this place if you JUST TOLD HIM…..#but also Patrick biting back hard….bc any time someone tries to pry into his past he gets defensive- fast#and of course later now the line he would be open with hyuk but for now- Low key think this is actually??#the first time he’s being open about how he feels about this situation….#which is bitter af and he can’t admit it but he hates that most if not all of his connections#all go back to him being the black knight and them needing him to be 😰#basically he feels like the person he really is….they don’t see that as valuable#WHICH JUST?? IS MAKING HIM ESP RESENTFUL ATM IM SORRY HYUK#but also hyuk really seeing the scars now….so how is he going to react when he puts two and two together#that Patrick as the black knight also has these scars…..#🙃🙃🙃 Patrick’s going to hate bc that’s one of MANY things he would not want hyuk knowing#along with just how he’s coping with well life in general#ANYWAYS I WORDVOMITED SO IF NONE OF THIS MADE SENSE FEEL FREE TO IGNORE IT ALEX!!#THANKS FOR SENDING IN ILL PROBABLY BE ANSWERING THESE OUT OF ORDER….🥲#BUT ALSO HAVE A GOOD DAY!! and if you want me to change anything do let me know ☺️#under the same sky ( queue. )#cull the shame ( aka ferre talks. )#( answered: patrick. )#that would truly be wonderful ( answered. )

week-by-week playback: crash landing on you.
just to preface, pardon that some of this may not be cohesive. i made this a separate post because otherwise the collective review would be insanely long. and i wanted to keep a space where i just let my thoughts from each episode exist, so here it it.
if you want to see my semi cohesive thoughts from the themes and characters here is my actual review. crash landing on you.
Tumblr media
*spoiler alert*
ep 1-2 my goodness this man, hyun bin (aka ri jung hyuk in this drama) is dreamy as ever. *like swoons*. son ye-jin is perfect, i loved her in "something in the rain” and this character is completely different and i am loving it. this free easy going aide of this actress. she is adorable and i love how in a crazy situation the first thing she thinks is ‘you’re totally my type’ bc seriously a girl after my own heart.
now the concept is completely ridiculous but i’ll jump on the band wagon and live my best life bc i think this is going to be a unique concept that i fall for. the fact that she doesn’t listen to him and goes directly into north korea i’m like girl you’re crazy.
i love how they added the clips at the end of the episode and how he was laughing at her. precious how he’s already falling for her quirky side. i am intrigued to see where their relationship first started like how did they meet before how did he leave north korea and enter back in as a general captain?!? so many questions and i’m so excited.
ep 3-4.  kim ju-meok (captain ri’s company of 5) saying i haven’t seen any drama characters that don’t fall in love in that situation. hahaha same dude same. when the guy was spying, jung man-bok, and trying to keep up with the drama plot. hahaha
i loved when the ladies tried to see her and she made him act all sweet walking him out the door.
he said all nice things to the plant!!!
ep 5-6. his relationship with his fiancé is soooo weird. and her family must be super high up in north korea. same to his family though. his mom has an ostrich in her yard!!! i love how they got stuck on the train on their journey to pyeongyang. i love how he jumps to his feet to get her anything she wants. they’re precious together. i’m excited to see where it takes us bc now that the man on the run knows that she is there, there is leverage. he was the first guy she waited for TT. i’m really enjoying the little tidbit scenes at the ending.
he’s gonna keep a photo of her even though he said it was silly to get a momento. the clarification between destiny and coincidence.
ri jeong-hyeok do you want to be my destiny. ‘as long as you stay in my sight you’ll be safe, as long as she is in my sight i will protect her.’
ep 7-8. her character growth since meeting him is extensive and i love to see this side of her not as callused and closed off but rather vulnerable.
‘so happens that you’ve become a special person to me
for once i had to protect you too.’
the heart on his uniform she stitched up.
it’s his brothers song. TT
him going to find her bc she might have been waiting in him. he’s not wrong. and her being concerned with him not being in the hospital bc of his injuries.
your life here might be shattered bc of me.
and i don’t like that.
she’s gets kidnapped. after all this. she even decorated a christmas tree and got him a gift.
held my breath for a solid minute after that gunshot.
ep 9-10. yes his freaking dad in these moments where i’m crying just provides the perfect comedic relief bc he can’t freaking believe what’s happening in front of him. “you make my heart flutter. the other dude.” even when you didn’t know it you saved my life. when he played the song for the first and last time for his brother.
how would i forget about a woman who feel from the sky? -jeong-hyeok
i didnt fall. i descended. -se ri
she freaking wrote i love you with the books.
his brother was such a good person and got the medicine for his friends baby.
when they had to say goodbye to each other. and when their eyes met once again.
ep 11-12. this episode. i loved seeing how the comrades reacted to the daily living of those in seoul. they were too precious. absolutely terrifying that cheol-gang made his way into a security. like what kind of background check did they get?!? like. come on.
cannot believe that jeong-hyeok found her in an echoing parking garage. it’s destiny.
seo dan got the term ‘sweetmeat’ from seri stop it!!
all of the almost encounters had me dying, while the boys were trying to track down captain ri. the gaming to ignoring the call for chicken.
they wanted to recruit kwang-beom for an agency. they’re like your cover was blown bro.
talking about a future when he didn’t go back. married with twins. and he’ll play piano again.
them dresses as south koreans got me like. my goodness. they’re too much. them all hugging was beautiful. he missed them all so much.
her mother left her at the beach. like what the even. her sister in law gave him her address what the even, this side of her family is wack.
they surprised her for her birthday. my goodness. this moment i’m weeping then it’s like dang that would have been cute.
i’ll be thankful the person i love is still breathing.
and it will be a good year.
-ri jeong hyeok
ep 13-14. the couple rings.
our boys. slaying it. my gosh. when they’re all surrounding her after she was shot. and crying my heart broke.
i never played the piano. and i’ve never told anyone. until you crash landed into my word one day. that’s how i lived. but now i’ved changed. even if i have to worry about losing you, i want to have you in my life. even if it breaks my heart bc it’s a dream that can’t come true, i’d like to sincerely dream of a future. so please live. and listen to my words i still have stories that i haven’t told you yet. -ri jeong-hyeok
when she finally woke up and he ran in. the fact that the mole wire tapped the room while she was unconscious. and then the tape of her mom telling her and wanting to thank seri and ask for forgiveness, and also the fact that her oppa and sister in law wanted her gone...wack.
when he was showing her his scars and the boys walked in and thought something scandalous was up, i died laughing.
i love them together. “they’re curious about your face. i understand bc you look great from the back.” -seri with regards to the paparazzi posting a photo of him online.
the split second after cheol-gang died and ri jeong-hyeok contemplated ending his life, because he didnt know what would happen when he went back to north korea.
while seung-jung was hiding in the market after he ran away from his captors, and the orphans collectively sang that sad song to distract the officers and protect him.
when seung-jung gave seo dan the ring that she picked up from the store so he could give it to seri who gave it to the pawn shop, and he picked it back up and proposed to seo dan. i weeped, because why does this have to be so hard.
when the NIS was collecting data on the ‘spies’: purchases at internet cafe, downloading videos of his favorite drama star, chicken restaurant, etc.  i can’t.
him deciding to go protect her even though he missed his chance of leaving the north with his life. and that she would be the one crying for him once he died made him sad and happy.
seri would make the same decision again. to meet the people and keep the experiences she had. “the wind blows to move in, not to stay.”
the exchange at the boarder was all too much. they all had to say goodbye so quickly.
ep 15-16. her family is wack. thank goodness seodan was able to get her revenge and get all the information from the chinese gang to turn over her older brother.
he wrote her back in the bookshelf. and is sending her notes after he’s gone. her breakdown in the kitchen when she saw all that he left for her. and receipts.
them going for walks at the same time of day to have a shared moment.
all of captain ri’s men reminiscing of the good things seoul had. internet. electricity.
i love that seri made a limited edition product to pay tribute to the ladies that helped her in the north.
he got her a freaking plant. i can’t. she is carrying for the plant like a baby and taking it around with her. got to say nice things to it. i knew it the last thing she said was rihoseok. (honestly wanted it to be a tomato plant)
“season changed but messages kept coming.” i really love this.
“it was eldewiss let’s meet in the country where these flowers bloom.” tell me they meet. please. oh please.
when ri jeong-hyeok broke the news that he was moving on to become a pianist and that the new captain is not a handsome man. the ladies of the village faces just dropped. i can’t.
“he found me every time. and i’m sure he’ll find me again someday.” -seri
“edelweiss symbolizes precious memories. what should i do jeonghyeok? it’s impossible for me to herons your just as a memory. so even if we don’t meet this year, maybe next year. if that doesn’t work too, i’ll anticipate the year after that. until the day you find me i’ll be waiting and praying.” -seri
stop it she is going to go paragliding and meet him again. come on.
eun-dong saying he misses his sister. i love them.
most wonderful two weeks of the year. stop it they have a house together in switzerland. and they are living happily ever after.
i really don’t want it to end...

Dinner Mate | 1 ~ 8
I think halfway through a drama is enough to give my opinions on it. I used to talk about it weekly, however I no longer follow dramas as their air (just sometimes when the plot really interests me). Now, I know that this drama still has three weeks to go, but I watched 8 episodes (16, depending on how you look at it) in two days and I started to watch when it was already in episode 10 (or 20) so cut me some slack.
As usual, I'll talk about the characters and plot. Also, as usual, SPOILERS
Kim Hae Kyung: I don't think I ever watched a drama in which one of the main characters was a psychiatrist, considering how mental issues are a hard topic to be discussed in Korea (if there are any other, please let me know) but I suppose things are changing for the best. You know I'll love a character to death when he shows emotions, he doesn't have to cry his eyes out or scream at the top of his lungs. The thing is that he acknowledges his emotions, he is willing to deal with them. Maybe because he is a psychiatrist or maybe that's just the way his built, he is very serene, he tries to be understanding and do the best for those who are next to him. But hey, no need to be understanding to the point where you literally say that it's okay to be cheated on. He has flaws, because he is human, and that's great. I also love his relationship with his assistant/nurse/secretary/friend. I think they were trying to go for a bromance but it isn't as compelling and other bromances in other shows.
Woo Do Hee: she feels like a real person. Has her moments of happiness, sadness, anger, playfulness. She lives her life the way she sees fit and that's great. Obviously she has scars. She was hurt by her first love (a dickhead we'll talk about in a minute) who left without a single word, hurt by her ex boyfriend who cheated on her while making her, accidentally, believe that he was going to propose, by her parents relationship (a mother who is far more interested in complaining about her cheating husband than to care about her child. I mean, if you don't want a divorce that's fine keep taking that shit but really there's no point in bombarding your daughter with shit that doesn't concern her. Also, trying to marry her to the fucker who left her out of the blue? Dick move, mom). I think that what I like the most about her is that she is strong but also isn't afraid to show that she too has emotions and that's okay to be weak sometimes. We, as women, were made to believe that we can only be strong, that show any signs of weakness, or just emotions in general, is a bad thing. So you go woo do hee, show them that emotions aren't bad at all.
Jung Jae Hyuk: an idiot, deserves nothing, a psycho who has pictures of do hee in his wall, has invaded her home and has a news paper article about doctors over prescribing pills for money (dick, terrible doctors, who should have lost their right or ability to practice medicine). Should have never come back, or maybe he never left. There was a scene in which Ah Yeong confronted him about going abroad, saying that he never actually left to the States. Him going to Hae Kyong clinic to threaten him is just shitty. Basically, I hate him and he is in the way of my otp. So can he just leave?
Ji No Eul: there's not much to like or dislike about her, she's a boring character. She doesn't play the role of evil ex girlfriend who is willing to do anything to get her boyfriend back. Sure, she wants him back but haven't done anything too crazy, or at all. She went to Hae Kyung, said that she wanted him back and got an on for an answer. She broke up with him because she was bored, something that will likely happen again in the future because she hasn't changed and neither has he.
Plot: I love the idea of dinner mates, people who don't know each other at all that (not even their names) but still manage to talk to each other, be truthful and open about themselves. I like how open they are, how they aren't really afraid do show their feelings. The fact that they are at each others necks when it comes to their work and how many times they managed to miss each other while trying to confront was so typical but really I loved it.
Geun U is a bad friend, let's be honest okay? I saw someone saying that he call Hae Kyung because he is closer to No Eul and I don't agree. If you're someone's friend, you are and that's it. He saw how bad being dumped by No Eul was to Hae Kyung, he saw the way his friend reacted. I understand him being closer to her but as Hae Kyung's friend he should understand that people have limits and lines that shouldn't be crossed. Hae Kyong could have said no in all of the occasions but he still went, so he is partial to blame. But Hae Kyung did say that Geun U shouldn't call him if something happened to No Eul.
I still don't understand the plot about the homeless man/con artist/doctor. Sometimes I think that his relationship with Ah Yeong is going to develop into a romantic one but then I think back to the time he was looking through the window to a father who played with his daughter and I'm just like no. I'm curious about what's his story is going to be like, how he knows Jae Hyuk is a bad person, what happened that he went to live on the streets.
THE ROMANCE IS AMAZING. I love a good slow burn and this one has it. It's great. He admitted his feelings at the end of episode 8 and I fangirled very hard lmao.
So far, a very solid drama.

Dinner Mate | 9 ~ 10
I literally just posted my review on the first 8 (16) episodes and here I am talking about more about it lol. I'll blame it on the insomnia that's been keeping me from sleep.
In the last post I said that I thought No Eul was just a boring character, she isn't that super bitchy villain we've seen before, but I've changed my mind. Now, I think that she is worse than a super villain. You see, those kinds of characters make it clear who they are, like Jae Hyuck does, it's easy to see that they are indeed crazy. But she does it in a way that's intended to make you think that she is indeed good, that everything she does is with a pure heart and she even has an innocent smile to top it off. I hate it.
I think it's nice that Hae Kyung's mother is like "you're too much like me, I don't want someone else like that in my son's life, I've done enough". She knows the harm she's done, knows that she left scars on him that will never really heal, knows that it is inexcusable. At least she wants someone better for him, someone who's less likely to leave him. That's a nice redemption ark, if you ask. One that seems more realistic in my eyes, I guess.
Jae Hyuk... dude, really, what is your problem? He didn't go to the States, he simply broke with Do Hee because of her "less than impressive background" and his mother apparently. He ruined Keanu's career as a doctor (or so it seems, judging only by how hard this fuxker was running when he saw the doctor). Like, what more can you possible want? You want to get back together just so your mother can waltz in and say "no, no, me precious son won't date a mere PD"? Spare us all of your bullshit, will ya? This @#%$¥ dude also eat strawberries, a food that he is probably allergic to considering how Do Hee reacted. He is crazy crazy, needs help, mental institution kind of case. Also, what is it that he has to tell Do Hee, what truth? He mentioned on the phone a few episodes back.
Onto to our main couple! They are so cute and sweet, I hate it lmao. No, I'm kidding. They have the type of relationship I personally really like, and it's especially nice to see in dramas and movies. They talk, they actually do. It's basically, here's our problem let's fix it. It's brilliant. Make no mistake, I love the whole too many mixed signal and stuff, but this is on a whole new level.
Only six more episodes left... I'm sad already.
