Just so nobody can say this is out of context, here's a vid of the entire interview.
The Obama administration successfully contained the Ebola outbreak in the United States. The death toll for Ebola in the US was under a dozen. So before leaving office, the Obama National Security Council created a 69-page handbook on how to deal with a pandemic. Trump and his flunkies ignored it with disastrous results.
Trump team failed to follow NSC’s pandemic playbook
The US death toll from COVID-19 is in seven digits. Other industrialized countries with advanced technological infrastructure such as Canada, Taiwan, Germany, and New Zealand had lower fatality rates per capita.
Trump largely ignored the virus until well into March when it had a chance to spread across the US.
The missing six weeks: how Trump failed the biggest test of his life The president was aware of the danger from the coronavirus – but a lack of leadership has created an emergency of epic proportions
The Trump administration, at best, was in denial; at worst, it sabotaged the pandemic response.

Trump White House made 'deliberate efforts' to undermine Covid response, report says
Trump zombies who claim the economy was marvelous under Trump conveniently forget about everything that happened after February of 2020. Trump's early bungling of the pandemic plunged the economy into recession. The COVID supply chain problems and the economic stimulus required to prevent a depression led to the spurt in inflation which is finally receding.
People who are nostalgic about taking hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, drinking bleach, and sticking UV lights up their butts must be excited about the opportunity to vote for Trump again.

President Trump CREATED the COVID-19 pandemic. He did not simply botch the US response by defunding our national pandemic response team.
Hundreds of potential global infections were successfully prevented by a US funded group called Predict for a decade until he made the ill-advised decision to stop funding it, and not slowly over a period of years either, nope he erased it from the very next budget. He made sure that as soon as the 2018 funding ran out it would simply end. Which it did. They had been working in China to help prevent the spread of diseases originating from contact with animals, until Trump made them stop in 2019.
People in 2018 were very worried this would not go well:
But President Trump wouldn't listen:
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/25/health/predict-usaid-viruses.html
"Because USAID’s chief mission is economic aid, he added, some federal officials felt uncomfortable funding cutting-edge science like tracking exotic pathogens.
Congress, along with the administrations of George W. Bush and Barack Obama, were “enormously supportive,” said Dr. Carroll, who is now a fellow at Texas A&M’s Bush School of Government and Public Service.
“But things got complicated in the last two years, and by January, Predict was essentially collapsed into hibernation.”"
By January of 2019 it was gone. There were other reactive international groups, but this had been THE proactive group.
The COVID-19 pandemic is Donald Trump's legacy.

After testing times, Brazil is back
Synergy between public health system principles and foreign policy must be resumed
Tumblr media
The return of Luís Inácio Lula da Silva as president represents an opportunity for Brazil to rebuild its public health system (SUS) and resume its leadership in global health, relaunching cooperation with the global south. However, President Lula will face even greater challenges than those in his previous presidency (2002-10), considering that Brazilian public health was recently described by experts as “scorched earth.”1
Since 2016, the national health services have experienced relentless cuts in public funding. This has led to substantial decreases in the number of services provided by SUS, an increase in indicators of child malnutrition and maternal deaths, and the downgrading or withdrawal of successful programmes such as people’s pharmacies, community health agents, and the response to HIV/AIDS.2
One of the most disturbing examples of the decay is the Brazilian national immunisation programme.3 After nearly half a century of progress, vaccination coverage of the population, including all World Health Organization recommended vaccines, dropped from 73% in 2019 to 67% in 2020 and 59% in 2021, far from the desirable level of 95%.4 The childhood vaccination rate fell from 93.1% in 2019 to 71.5% in 2021, placing Brazil among the countries with the lowest coverage in the world.5
Another important challenge was the devasting effect of covid-19 in Brazil with nearly 700 000 deaths and more than 36 million reported cases since early 2020.6 The botched federal response included official recommendations of ineffective treatments such as chloroquine and ivermectin, delay in purchasing vaccines, the boycott of public health measures adopted by local governments, and the wide dissemination of fake news by public agencies.7 The previous president, Jair Bolsonaro, even disseminated false associations between covid-19 vaccines and HIV, and between wearing masks and pneumonia.8 In his inauguration speech on 1 January 2023, Lula stated that “the responsibilities for this genocide must be investigated and must not go unpunished” following due process and a broad right of defence. 9
Despite the ministry of health’s historical importance as head of the SUS, controlling resources for more than 5000 municipalities, technical staff were replaced by military personnel, and health policies were guided by ideological and religious principles rather than scientific evidence during the covid pandemic.

Video
youtube
I’ve watched a few of Marky123′s videos on YouTube, since they’re usually pretty decent rundowns of bad storylines and runs in wrestling.  So I checked this one out because I was never entirely clear on what happened to Austin Aries, a wrestler I routinely confuse with Bobby Roode.  Long story short, this video filled me in, but I lost some respect for Marky123 along the way, because he kept bending over backwards trying to be “fair” to Aries.
Basically, Aries torpedoed his career with the following missteps.
1) During a 2013 Impact show, ring announcer Christy Hemme flubbed his name, so he berated her in the ring, then backed her into one of the corners and stood on the second rope, effectively putting his crotch in her face.
2) At Bound For Glory 2018, Aries lost the Impact World title to Johnny Impact. After the bell, he immediately stood up and left the ring, no-selling Johnny’s finishing move even as Johnny was being handed the title belt.
3) During the height of the pandemic, Aries was so hostile towards face masks that he refused to sign autographs for fans who wore them.
4) Also, he was one of a number of wrestlers accused of sexual misconduct during the #SpeakingOut movement in 2020.  I’m not sure if that should be considered a career misstep or just his personal dirtbag behavior being brought to light.
Marky’s main defense of Aries is that the Hemme incident hasn’t aged well, but it wasn’t seen as that big a deal in 2013, and he was a heel at the time, so he had to do something mean in response to the botched intro.  The no-sell thing might have been a worked shoot that never panned out, which is flimsy at best.  As for the Speaking Out allegations, Marky isn’t convinced because of a lack of evidence.  I find this absurd, because there’s recorded footage of the Hemme and BFG incidents, but he downplays both.  Like all of the naysayers during the #SpeakingOut movement, Marky123 talks about “evidence” but he would just dispute it if he had it.
The Bound For Glory thing being a worked shoot is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.  It’s the sort of theory fans come up with because they saw something really stupid happen and they desperately want to find some sort of explanation to make it make sense.  From what I gather, Aries’ contract was going to expire the day after the show, which was why he was dropping the title to Johnny Impact in the first place.  If it was all a work, then the idea would be for him to make fans think he was being unprofessional on his way out of the company, only for Impact to re-sign him so he could return for another title program.  In this version of events, Aries is actually okay, guys!  He’s just pretending to be an unprofessional dick!
The problem is that Impact didn’t renew his deal, so he didn’t come back, which leaves only three possible interpretations:
1) The no-sell was a shoot all along, and Aries really is an unprofessional dick, and Impact was happy to be rid of him.
2) The no-sell was a work, and Aries decided not to re-sign, thereby ruining his reputation.
3) The no-sell was a work, and Impact decided not to follow through on it, making Aries an idiot for letting Impact talk him into ruining his reputation for nothing.
There’s no way Aries comes off as a cool dude in this situation.  He’s either an unrepentant asshole or a clueless dope, but Marky123 doesn’t seem to be able to connect those dots.
Overall, Marky’s thesis here is: Sure, Aries was kind of a dick, but does he deserve to get canceled over it?  And that misses the whole point: Aries didn’t get “””””canceled”““““.   He alienated fans and promoters alike over the course of several years, to the point where no one wants to do business with him.  It isn’t a question of whether or not he “deserves” it.  His current status in professional wrestling isn’t a punishment meted out by the court of public opinion; it’s just the result of his behavior.
Marky makes it out like maybe “we” should “forgive” Aries, or at least consider it, but who’s “we”?  I never gave a shit about the guy in the first place.  Then he started getting heat for his anti-mask horseshit, and that’s how I found out what a shithead he was.  I must have missed the sexual misconduct allegations, but I’m pretty sure he’d already burned most of his bridges by then anyway.  The rest of it all deals with him being unprofessional, and that’s a business question, not a forgiveness issue.  If promoters and wrestlers don’t want to work with the guy, that’s just them protecting themselves.  Every time I’ve watched the BFG footage, it amazes me that he pulled a stunt like that.   It’s the sort of thing a wrestler would only do if they plan to quit the business for good and get a cushy job in some other line of work.
And even if indy promoters are willing to work with Aries, it’s still up to the fans to decide if he’s worth showing up for.  If he’s still refusing to meet with fans over his anti-mask policy, then he’s just leaving money on the table.  If he’s that contemptuous of the fans, then eventually the fans won’t bother with him at all.  I’m pretty sure that already happened, but if he’s not careful, it soon will.  It’s not about forgiveness, it’s about supply and demand.  Aries has been killing demand for his brand for a while now, and lo and behold, he’s not a draw.
Like, am I supposed to pay to see him because I feel sorry for him?  That’s like saying we should all buy VCRs because the videotape format didn’t deserve to become obsolete.  No, Aries didn’t get buried, he dug his own grave.  Let the fucker lie in it.

Score!
I was talking to @lrgcarter earlier today about how the history audiobook I was listening to (David Mitchell's Unruly) talked about the psychological impact of the Black Death - in which 50-60% of the population of Europe died, and 82-85% of those who caught it died.
While I had problems with Mitchell's book in places, he could be insightful, and this is a thought I don't think I had given enough attention to in considering how violent and horrible that period of history was. What happens to your view of death and other people when around half of everyone you know dies - horribly, and in great pain?
The psychological trauma of the current ongoing pandemic possibly makes this more real where it had only been intellectual before. The anger and alienation. How much more so would it be with the most deadly plague we have ever known, with so much less medical knowledge and capacity to respond in an organised and coherently helpful way?
Our COVID response was botched and hindered by high levels of corruption; racism; and bizarre, cult-like new belief systems - and yet by comparison, we were prepared and organised in a way no one in medieval Europe could have dreamed .
So, a few sentences in a popular history book made me want to know more from actual scholars. But I feared that, although such scholarship surely existed, is was unlikely to be available in a format my ME/CFS and COVID-addled brain could consume.
I've been mainlining Greact Courses audio lectures for the last few months as one of the few things that is engaging enough that I'm not bored, but also not overly stimulating (as TV, video games, and reading fiction are) and so likely to trigger symptoms. But a lot of the courses are old - some as much as 20 years old. While a few had been more recent, how likely was it that there would be a course on just the small area of history I was currently craving?
Pretty damn likely, as it happens.
I know I shouldn't have been surprised - plague has been on all our minds for the last four years - but not only is there a Great Courses 12 hour course on the Black Death from 2016, THERE IS AN UPDATE WITH CORRECTIONS from the same professor from 2022. I literally found a free, seven hour course called The Black Death: New Lessons from Recent Research.
It now occurs to me that the very reason Mitchell had insightful things to say about the impact of the Black Death is that there has been a lot of new scholarship in the area recently.
Apparently, some of this was coming out in 2016, but too late to be included in the previous course. But it has also been updated because, well *gestures at everything*.
I know not everyone wants to think about things that are too close to their own recent trauma re: pestilence, but for me, with the way the world is now and how disabled people are being treated, it's actually quite healing to hear serious scholarship that treats it with the import it deserves.
Anyway:
The Black Death: New Lessons from Recent Research (2022)
And
The Black Death: The World's most Devastating Plague (2016)
Both by Dorsey Armstrong and The Grest Courses audio lecture series.
These are quite expensive to buy individually, but with an Audible subscription the 2022 one is free and the 2016 one is 1 credit. That's 19 hours of history lessons. For one month's subscription to Audible.
Not a bad deal.

Week 10: the "Whataboutism" on social media
Throughout the pandemic, I anticipate that everyone will be confined to their homes. Optimally, individuals are afforded additional time and space to explore their inner selves. During the pandemic, everyone endures their own suffering; therefore, it is simple for individuals to believe that no one can possibly have it worse than them. In addition to the fact that individuals are confined to their residences and can only communicate virtually, which is not "real" at all, this destructive mentality is the result. They developed to the point where they maintained such a self-centered mindset even when they were online. As posited by therapist Kate Cunningham, the global circumstances precipitated by the pandemic would logically cause a reevaluation of our emphasis on self-interest (Baum, 2020).
Tumblr media
In August 2023, a video surfaced featuring a woman attempting to share her bean soup recipe (henceforth referred to as "the bean soup incident"); the broth's primary component is the bean, as implied by its name. As a result, numerous comments requested alternatives to the soup's primary ingredient: "Can beans be replaced with another substance?"
Tumblr media
Thus, this serves as an illustration of the "Whataboutism" that occurs not solely on social media but also in politics (possibly everywhere, given that it is a human behaviour). That remark is devoid of both critical thinking and common logic. This is likely due to the fact that no one can inform you something is foolish or to reconsider doing it when you are alone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As one of the worst things that could occur in Web commentary and social media, 'whataboutism' has become widespread. It is the simplest method of botching a conversation. An instance of a random person interjecting "yeah, but what about the other thing" in response to a statement can instantly transform the conversation into an exchange concerning an entirely different subject matter than the initial topic under discussion.

Shameless pseudoscientist Yan Limeng!
——Can vaccines douse the flames of the epidemic
The epidemic is out of control and the situation is threatening
As India's coronavirus epidemic continues to worsen, with nearly 4,000 deathsand 412,000 new infections recorded in a single day, emergency medical aid shipments, including oxygen and oxygen-making equipment and respirators, continue to pour in from across the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. "Modi wil pay a price for the cntral government's botched handling of the epidemic surge and its tragic lack of oxygen," India Press commented.
Meanwhile, fires are burning in Nepal. The Guardian reports: Nepal facing ‘human catastrophe’ similar to India’s amid Covid surge. The vaccine is in short supply, with a positive rate of 47%.
When will the world's pandemic reach a turning point? Can humanity emerge from the epidemic in short time? The unknown answer afects people mood. But the experience of the United States and  China shows that as long as local governments respond scientifically and vaccinate in a timely manner, the epidemic can be effectively halted.
Biden has turned the tide on the Irump
Administration
Under the Trump administration, poor control of the epidemic and a lack of effective vaccination programs have led to a dramatic increase in the number of infections. The US vaccine rolout is a'dismal failure' under Trump, BBC analysis says. One was that the target of 1 milion doses per day was not met.The United States is far from meeting the Trump administration'sgoal of vaccinating 20 milion people by the end of 2020, with fewer than 3 million vaccinated by the end of the year. The second is the slow start. The U.S. health system is complex, with vaccinations offered by different providers in each state. Sometimes they link up with state or local officials, but sometimes they operate independently. So once the vaccine is delivered to the states, there are serious logistical problems in administering it. "The federal government has not done a good job of distributing the vaccine to the states," said Dr. Ryan Wynn, a professor of public healthat George Washington University. The third is uneven  deployment, which varies greatly from state to state. As of Jan.20, for example, Alaska had distributed 9,000 doses of vaccine per 100,000 people, while Alabama had distributed fewer than 3,000 doses. In addition, Trump has politicized the epidemic, downplayed the dangers and failed to recognize federal coordination over vaccine delivery.
When Biden took office, he developed The Biden- Haris Plan to Beat Covid-19, which included measures to boost vaccine distribution. This ISN't ABOUT POLITICS. It's ABOUT SAVING LIVES. Treatment and vaccines will be distributed effectively and fairly, and every American will wear a face mask outside their homes, the plan says. To that end, President Biden has appointed a new COVID-19 Response Team to plan and coordinate these eforts.
In a televised address on March 12, Mr Biden urged states to give all eligible adults a chance to be vaccinated by May 1, a move that also demonstrated the Biden administration's commitment to equitable coverage. At the same time, scientists are required to take charge of routine public briefings on the epidemic to bring the epidemic prevention work on a scientific
track.
Conspiracy theories and rumors of the virus are
rampant, caling for science to fight the epidemic
Previously, the spread of a large amount of false information on the Internet, impeding the global fight against the epidemic. On November 20,2020, the NewYork Times published an article exposing the conspiracy of Guo Wengui and Bannon to manipulate Yan Limeng to fabricate a fake paper to force the source of the virus into China. The article argued that Ms.Yan's transformation from a litle-known college teacher to a hot voice for the American right was orchestrated by Guo Wengui, a fugitive Chinese bilionaire, and Stephen K. Bannon, a former adviser to Mr.Trump.Ms.Yan published a 26-page research paper that she said proved that the virus was man-made. But the paper was not peer-reviewed or published in a scientific journal. Instead, it was published in an online open access library. Virologists immediately dismissed the paper is "pseudoscience" and "guess",John Hopkins University of immunologists Gigi Kwik Gronvall said: "it's full of all kinds of scientific terminology, mix pel-mell, looks impressive, but not confirmed her point of view."
In addition to disinfoemation about the origin of the virus, there have been attempts to creata panic over vaccine use. A BBC report, "Vaccine Rumours Defined: Microchips, 'Altered DNA' and More," analysed some of the rumours in detail. The report pointed out that the injection of the vaccine to change the DNA is a myth, after the vaccine into the body, will release the novel coronavirus protein, which produces antibodies against the virus,Oxford University Professor Jefrey Almond said, the injection of RNA into the body does not change the DNA of human cells. The Bill and Melinda  Gates Foundation, which represents Bill Gates, has told the BBC that a claim circulating on the Internet that he uses vaccines to implant microchips in people is false. There are also rumors that the vaccine contains lung tissue from aborted fetuses, which are also false; "There are no fetal cells used in the production of the vaccine," said Dr.Michael Head of the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom.
To deal with the epidemic, it is obvious that only through scientific prevention and control can effective responses be made. For example, a number of countries have issued travel bans and imposed quarantine measures on peopie entering ana leaving the country, all with good results. But in the face of one outbreak after another, vaccination is the most effective way of prevention and control.
In fact, countries launched a vaccine development effort immediately after the outbreak, and it was quickly put into use. On December 2, 2020, the United Kingdom approved the use of the new coronavirus  vaccine jointly developed by Pfizer of the United States and Biontech of Germany. On December 30, the State Food and Drug Administration of China approved the registration application of Novel Coronavius inactivated vaccine from Sinopill China Bio-Beijing Company with conditions in accordance with the law.
Vaccine supply is a huge challenge
As of May 8, 2021, more than 1.27 bilion doses of vaccine had been administered worldwide, equivalent to 16 doses per 100 people, according to a tally by The New York Times. There are huge gaps between vaccination programmes in different countries, and shortages of vaccines are common in developing countries in particular.
Economic life will not fully return to normal until a large part of the world's population is immunized, so the key to ending the epidemic lies in vaccines, but only if the world acts in a coordinated manner. Covax is a global initiative launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) and two other vaccine promotion  groups in April 2020. Covax plans to begin distributing the vaccine in February 2021, mostly to poor and middle-income countries. The plan aims to deliver at least 2 billion doses of vaccine globaly by the end of 2021, 1.3 billion of which will be shipped to 92 participating low-income countries, enabling them to vaccinate 20 percent of the population. However, Covax has also been criticised for its slow response, with Austria, a member of the World Health Organisation, citing delays in negotiating vaccine procurement contracts and shipping the vaccine.
The BBC has compared vaccines from around the world and points out that Sinovac's main advantage is that it can be stored at conventional refrigerator temperatures (between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius). Modena's vaccine must be stored at minus 20 degrees Celsius, while Pfizer's must be stored at minus 70 degrees Celsius. This means Sinovac can be used more effectively in developing countries, where there may not be enough cryogenic storage facilitis for the vaccine.
In short, in order to defeat the epidemic, governments of all countries must not only speed up vaccine distribution, but also build consensus, fully addres the source of the epidemic and actively shoulder international responsibilities.Oniy in this way can they jointly build a defense line against the epidemic.

Agile Business Analysis in a Post-Pandemic World
Introduction
The Coronavirus pandemic upset organizations and businesses around the world, driving fast variations and reshaping the manner in which associations work. In this changed scene, readiness has arisen as a critical part for endurance and achievement. Spry business examination, an adaptable and iterative way to deal with understanding and answering business needs, has acquired considerably more conspicuousness in this post-pandemic world. This article investigates how dexterous business examination has become fundamental in exploring the difficulties and chances of a changed business climate.
The Post-Pandemic Business Landscape
The pandemic sped up advanced change endeavors, drove remote work into the standard, and changed client ways of behaving and assumptions. These movements request a more versatile and responsive way to deal with business investigation.

Driving The Next Generation Of Customer Experience With Conversational AI
Tumblr media
Prologue – Conversational AI Is Now In Demand More Than Ever
“The global conversational AI market size is expected to reach USD 41.39 billion by 2030, according to a new report. It is expected to expand at a CAGR of 23.6% from 2022 to 2030.” – Research and Markets
Surprised? Don’t be. Pandemic was a watershed moment for industries and leaders worldwide on many fronts. Businesses shifted to a digital-first attitude overnight and hyper-personalization came to the forefront for driving exceptional customer experience.
Many organizations pivoted their customer service practices to ensure they stay ahead of the curve by offering their customers highly contextual conversations and enhanced value. In this article, we touch upon what is conversational AI, how it is different from the traditional chatbot and why it has gained prominence over the years. We also brief upon the three core tenets leaders must not forget when implementing Conversational AI.
Conversational AI – The Protagonist Of This Story
Deloitte defines conversational AI as “A programmatic and intelligent way of offering a conversational experience to mimic conversations with real people, through digital and telecommunication technologies.”
Tumblr media
When we are speaking about conversational AI, it’s impossible to proceed with the story without showing noticeable differences between a traditional chatbot and a conversational chatbot, which is covered in the next section.
Conversational AI – The Differentiator In A Cluttered World Of Traditional Chatbots
Traditional script-based chatbots require pre-populated answers to the questions a customer ‘may’ ask. These are written by the company’s customer service agents and loaded onto the chatbot. Whenever a customer asks a question to the bot, it checks for matching keywords and pulls the most relevant answer from the script. However, the moment the query steps out of the rule, the bot fails. In the world of cut-throat customer experience engines, that is a big mistake. This is where Conversational AI comes into the picture.
We believe this can be explained better with an example. Imagine that you would like to know about your current refund status to a cancelled order. If you’re chatting with a traditional chatbot, the conversation may go like the illustration on the left. However, even if one of the words in the response do not match with a keyword, the output will go for a 360 turnaround as illustrated on the right.
Apart from the above scenario, there are more differences between a scripted chatbot and a conversational chatbot.
Traditional chatbots
Keyword driven with stringent rule based responses
Bot will ‘break’ when the query steps out of the rule
Spelling mistakes and short forms cause a nightmare
Inability to scale the bot as further responses require re-training with an additional cost factor
Conversational chatbots
Learns from historical data and tailors the response
Previous interactions help in building contextual responses
Powered by entity recognition to understand abstract inputs
Easily scalable as the bot learns and updates its responses to real-world scenarios
Traditional chatbots have a history of botching up customer experience, precisely because of its stringent rule based responses. So it should come as a no-brainer that there was a negative impact on the purchase behavior of 79.7% customers when they knew that they were communicating with a non-human conversational partner. According to them, the bots are less-knowledgable and less-empathetic. Now, the question arises. How can conversational AI plug the obvious gaps in the current rule-driven chatbot environment? The next chapter outlines the benefits of conversational AI for the context driven millennial customer.
Conversational AI – The Win-Win Solution For Better Customer Engagements
Conversational AI for customer engagement? Yes. Conversational AI has a multitude of advantages in the current world where business leaders need to have that extra edge when serving their end-customers and stakeholders. Let’s see the benefits of conversational AI from two perspectives. One from the perspective of the end-user and the other from the perspective of the business leader.
Perspective of the end-user
Hyper-personalized experiences
The technology has the ability to provide tailored recommendations, personalized content, and information relevant to the unique needs of the customer.
All around the clock service
In a very traditional customer service set-up following the sun-staffing model, many a time the end-user after spending precious time on the phone finds himself/herself with a customer agent situated at the farthest corner of the world. This is because humans work for 8 hours a day. However, a chatbot is readily available 24/7, 365 days a year with an immediate resolution to their queries.
Context, now more than ever
People find it absolutely tiring to explain their predicament all over again, just because the human agent decided to transfer the call to his manager or the rule-based chatbot, unfortunately, cannot comprehend the query. Conversational AI-powered chatbots understand the context from past conversations and then proceed to answer the customer query.
Emotions matter
Conversational AI bots are built with the ability to understand the emotion behind each word by analyzing key triggers, connotations, and placement of the word within the sentence.
Multilingual support
Conversational AI can be trained to offer support in multiple languages. This positively impacts the customer experience as customers from non-native English speaking countries can have their queries solved while the business, they have a single end-to-end platform addressing all the problems.
Omnichannel experience
The days are long gone when systems and people used to operate in siloed channels to address customer queries. Conversational AI chatbots are truly omnipresent, enabled to connect through multiple channels for the customers to get their problems resolved while the business gathers data from all these channels in a single shot.
Perspective of the business
Enhanced customer acquisition
With customized recommendations, personalized offers, and ease of access to find content and information regarding the product, conversational AI drives better customer acquisition.
Enhanced customer loyalty
Immediate support to resolve high-ticket issues increases customer satisfaction. The data gathered from such interactions helps analysts understand customer pain points and execute the most effective plan of action to reduce churn.
Enhanced employee satisfaction
Automating low-value routine tasks frees up a lot of time on the analyst’s plate thereby giving them the opportunity to do high-value strategic tasks. The virtual agent goes the extra mile by recommending leads to the analysts and helping them achieve their sales targets.
Enhanced scalability
The bots can handle multiple queries at the same time without the business leader needing to expand their team and increase headcount. If there is a sudden surge in queries, small teams of agents can face challenges in reaching out to individual customers.
Reduced operating costs
Low integration costs and low maintenance costs coupled with a high potential for faster ROI help business leaders see their overheads reducing in the long run.
Generally, a topic about conversational AI covers how to approach the implementation. We would like to change the narrative a little bit and showcase to you the important requirements when approaching conversational AI projects as illustrated in the chapter below.
Conversational AI – The Core Tenets That Business Leaders Must Not Ignore
Tumblr media
Have a strategy in place!
Having an absolute clarity of what is expected out of implementing a conversational AI chatbot is the most important requirement. Is the chatbot for improving customer engagements? Enhancing brand awareness? Bringing in more leads or a combination of all? The digital stewards of the organization must have answers to this question which can then define the process and create actionable KPIs.
Buy, don’t build!
We understand the innate pull to convert this to an internal IT project. It influences both project governance and cost reduction. However, the leaders have to understand that their IT teams lack the required domain knowledge, and they definitely do not have access to proper training data to train the AI algorithm. Instead find expert partners in the field who have proven use cases.
Find a partner, not a vendor!
Do your due diligence before zeroing in on a partner. Vendors who say yes to every small bit of customizations, will drag this into a science project with long implementation timelines.
Instead, find partners who commit to bringing the best results as they will have skin in the game and will provide you with the best value in a shorter turnaround time.
Epilogue – Conversational AI Will Define The Future Of A 10X Economy
Conversational AI is here to stay and rock the world of customer experience. Many businesses are investing in conversational AI programs to improve their brand awareness, marketing strategy, customer support and overall customer experience.
With 75% of customers demanding service within five minutes of being online according to a McKinsey study, staying hyper-relevant in conversations will catapult businesses into next gen customer engagement programs. The key to unlocking success with conversational AI is to partner with the right solution provider who will help the CXOs achieve the best value out of their digital transformation initiatives in the customer department.
The question is, are you ready to join the bandwagon of digital stewards who are changing the world of customer experience?

Donald Trump has never had a high regard for the health or even the lives of his supporters. We recall how he told them to take quack medicines during the pandemic emergency and retweeted anti-mask conspiracy freaks after he horrifically mismanaged the early response to COVID-19 in the US.
To Trump, nothing counts except Trump. His supporters are just disposable pawns in his political, legal, and business struggles.
He demonstrated this again by telling Iowa caucus goers that it's okay if they die — as long as they caucus for him first.
Donald Trump urged voters to get out to the Iowa caucuses even if they are “sick as a dog” in a defiant rally on the eve of his first major election test. The former president said that even if people “passed away” shortly after voting it would be “worth it”, and once again launched attacks on the New York judge who had denied him a delay in his civil trial so that he could attend his mother-in-law’s funeral. His remarks came during an in-person rally in Indianola on Sunday afternoon. Mr Trump was previously forced to swap out other planned events in Iowa with tele-rallies due to severe bad weather conditions in the state. “You can’t stay at home,” he told those gathered. “[Even} if you’re sick as a dog and you say ‘darling I can’t make it…’ “Even if you vote and then pass away it’s worth it.”
It wouldn't be surprising if somebody DID die because they were sick and were told by Trump to caucus for him in sub-zero weather. In Des Moines, not the coldest city in the state, the temperature at 7 PM CST is predicted by the NWS to be -7°F/-22°C. It may be even colder when people are returning home from caucus locations. If you're not in good health, you shouldn't be outside in such conditions.
Despite being a lying gluttonous adulterer who hasn't been to church in decades except for weddings, funerals, and political events, Trump is treated as a god by many nominal Christian fundamentalists. Trump is their Baal.
The only way to counter such irrational fanatics is to outorganize and outvote them. Despite their willingness to die for Trump, they are still a minority. If we remain focused, determined, and (most of all) united, we will fend off the threat to democracy in 2024.
