Commander Henri
Heehee she's my main,,, a harbinger gremlin
Story !
Henri was a necromancer, alchemist and a student in the college of Dynamics, later becoming an assistant in a lab. She was as snooty and snobby as any other Asura (but even more brilliant, she says), especially passive aggressive and always reminding everyone of her genius. She would always swear up and down that she'd become the boss of everyone in that lab soon.
However, on one unfortunate day, there was an 'accident' at the lab. Some were killed, the rest were injured and escaped. Henri managed to escape as well, only to realize that her entire left arm was missing. It was a long recovery, more mentally than physically. Henri was left-handed and, even as a chaotic Dynamics student, never once anticipated that her pristine lab would end up as nothing but rubble, let alone take her dominant arm with it. Because of this, she was now considered useless, and couldn't get any work anywhere at all.
That 'accident' really bothered her. She was a very diligent and meticulous lab worker and kept things in tip-top shape, how could there be any accident at all? And she (generously) assumed all of the other Asura there were competent. Through some obsessive investigation on her own, and not much to her surprise, the Inquest had targeted the lab. Henri went back to the ruins of that lab and searched for any Inquest hideouts nearby.
Once she found it, she trashed the entire place with her necrotic minions and deadly elixirs. She tore off the arm of a golem, and tuned it into a prosthetic arm. Even if it was a crappy substitute, it still was better than nothing. It made her feel a little better, but she hides the arm by wearing a long sleeve and a full glove. Of course, she trained herself to do things with her other arm. Even while having a prosthetic, there are endless scenarios that could end horribly with it.
Losing her arm gave her a new perspective of things, realizing how quick Asuran society discards you for any little reason, your fault or not. Her Asuran arrogance fizzled out mildly, and she stopped using terms like 'Bookah'. She has a new boundless hatred for the Inquest, and laughs in the face of chaos and danger. She decided to go off on her own, distancing from Rata Sum. That made her perceived as a 'weirdo' and outsider, now that she finds more comfort being with the other races and other outcasted Asura.
With the threat of the Elder Dragons becoming more prominent every day, Henri became a commander in the Pact and later on joins Dragon's Watch even before its creation.

i know its for like... the sake of the players being able to understand everything, and i guess anet not wanting to make other entire linguistics systems, but i still find it kind of weird that All Of the races in the game speak new krytan 100% of the time. like. including ones who had their own pre-existing languages (asura) or ones that are extremely isolated or simply have no reason to need to (largos, djinn, tengu, etc). or charr just seamlessly going over to using a human language with no issue??
i want to see more lore about their own original languages!! it'd be really fun if we had more like, original asuran words or such-- it's always struck me as strange that bookah is apparently the literal only asuran word thats still in use!

Some random NPC decided it would be appropriate to yeet my low level ascalonian ass into an endgame hub. I am thrilled to announce I spotted my first asura there.
He greeted me with the words "Oh great another Bookah." It was nice to meet you too, Wukk. Your ears are of impeccable shape.

Tell me a little (or a lot) about mozzerela!
Mozzerela my darling little Mozzerela. Ingame she's a thief Deadeye atm
I gave her a new outfit recently on my NA account. New fit alert
BUT YEAH MOZZERELA LORE
Little Mozzerela made a lot of her experiments to help people and make their lives better, whether that be the form of a helper golem or studying pets to research how to improve their diet. Nothing groundbreaking though. She used to work alongside Ioxxi, who at the time she had a small crush on, Ioxxi devolved further and further into unethical experiments which Mozzerela couldn't stand, and they got into a big argument when Mozzerela finally mustered up the courage to put a stop to it. Ioxxi got kicked out of Rata Sum, and Mozzerela was slapped with a bunch of warnings and her information on the subject seized. Mozzerela considers the best possible outcome given what happened. However, after all her time in Rata Sum she'd come to the conclusion there's way too much corruption within Rata Sum, and people can be way too mean with their experiments! Just because you're smart doesn't mean you've gotta be horrible about it!
She then ditched the experiment angle, and decided what Rata Sum would really benefit from was some ethics and kindness. She's on a campaign to promote a healthy working enviroment in Asuran culture! No more calling your assistants Bookahs, no more intellectual supremacy, and fellow Asurans: Stop with the god complex! Did you know, worker performance can be greatly boosted with positive feedback instead of critical? This corrupt meritocracy is hindering!
She's tried taking it to the councilors more than once, but has just got laughed at and called naive. She's not giving up anytime soon.
She's doing her best to make the world a bit nicer a little bit at a time

🍓 [STRAWBERRY] How do they feel about 'cute' things?
cute animals will make them soft very easily and (especially when both were younger) taimi or aurene being adorable can break their resolve any day. things intentionally designed to be cute like clothes, stationary etc aren't their thing though because they seem gaudy.
🧅 [ONION] What is surefire to make your OC cry? Who knows of this information?
not a lot, that's for sure! but one thing above all else is coming home after being away on important Saving The World business. seeing their dad and everybody from the village puts them at ease like nothing else. there, they don't need to be The Commander, they're just mazin's little one. they'll cry quietly in their room at night to let out all the stress, making sure no one hears. mazin knows anyway because he raised them but he also knows to leave his daughter to it.
hanni will forever deny it but they'll always get a little misty eyed seeing everyone from dragon's watch alive after tough spots. they all know it and nobody is really above teasing them a little about it. but it stays within the guild.
they've also had their fair share of breakdowns over the various traumatic experiences they've had, but that's mostly between them and jamie (plus, on one very awkward occasion, meena and logan).
🍏 [GREEN APPLE] How do they differ from the norm and how are they punished for it?
they were bullied a lot when they were younger by their classmates for being adopted by a bookah, entering college late and thus being older (and obviously inferior in intellect).
absorbing some of balthazar's magic (and thereby going from brown hair and blue eyes to the fiery orange they’re sporting now) wasn't exactly well received by the public, ranging from wariness to outright hostility. it tapered off after a while and became just one more thing on the long list of grievances to be had about The Second Commander.
🥔 [POTATO] What do they have that others see as a flaw, but they don't care about?
they definitely possess a certain amount of self-sacrifical desire to help people, which causes their guild no small amount of grief. but hanni genuinely likes being helpful and fixing things and they feel like they owe it to toxx to do what he can't anymore.
physically it's the unnatural colour of their eyes and hair, which, at first, they weren't too thrilled about either but they've made their peace with it.
