Why Commercialisation of Biocontrol Products Is Essential
Tumblr media
Commercialisation of biocontrol products is essential for the growth, development and sustainability of the biopesticide industry.
First, commercialisation of biocontrol products helps to increase the demand for the sought after technology. At present, there are various hurdles for the adoption and use of biocontrol products which include high cost of production, lack of awareness among farmers and other stakeholders, technical problems associated with biocontrol agents and limited understanding about potential benefits of using biocontrol agents in the crop production system. In order to address these issues, it is necessary to create awareness about the benefits offered by biocontrol products through marketing campaigns. This will help in increasing demand for biocontrol products, which ultimately leads to increased production and sale of these products.
Second, commercialisation at large scale will reduce the production costs by increasing volume sales. At the moment, high initial investment and slow rates of return are two major issues faced by the biopesticide industries, which ultimately affect the farmers who want to use organic pesticides as an alternative to chemical pesticides. In order to make biopesticides more accessible to farmers, it is important that these products be commercialised so that large quantities can be purchased at one time instead of small quantities from different companies.
Furthermore, commercialisation allows for the testing of new products in controlled environments before they are released into the wild. This ensures that any potential negative side effects are identified before releasing them into the environment, where they could cause harm or damage other non-target organisms or human beings.
Another reason why commercialisation is essential is that it provides funding for innovative research to come up with new technologies that will help improve biocontrol products even more than they already are. This means that there will always be new ways to keep crops safe from harmful pests.
We're very much concerned about the environment here at Bionema, and we aim to protect it through the commercialisation of biocontrol products for the horticulture, turf amenity and forestry sectors. We're constantly striving to improve our products, so you can rest assured that when you choose Bionema as your partner in protecting the environment, you'll have access to some of the most innovative solutions on the market today.

How To Integrate Microbial Bio fungicides Into Your Crop Management Program
Tumblr media
Microbial bio fungicides have been used for decades to control plant diseases in horticultural and agricultural production. In the past few years, many new products have been introduced, and the number of formulations available has increased. These improvements have led to higher efficacy, lower costs of use, and greater ease of application for bio fungicides.
When applied properly and at the right time, microbial bio fungicides can help crops fight off plant diseases. These treatments also help plants maintain their characteristic tolerance to disease, which can result in better quality and productivity.
Below we have discussed how to integrate microbial bio fungicides into your crop management programs in a few easy steps.
Knowledge is power:
Understand the potential of plant diseases that can affect your crops, their characteristics and cycles, so you can anticipate plant disease problems before they occur. Use these insights to select products that exploit pathogens' weaknesses and decide in advance when to apply these products in your crop management program.
Select the best manufacturers and  distributors to add value to your operations:
Manufacturers and distributors of microbial bio fungicides should be able to help you formulate the product correctly. The way the product is produced, formulated and applied can have a big impact on its efficacy, so manufacturers with in-house expertise in fermentation and formulation are important. The quality of your product from batch to batch may also be ensured by choosing a manufacturer that offers technical support.
Choose the right products and formulations for the pathogen(s), crop and crop environment:
As you plan your pest control program, talk with manufacturers, distributors, crop consultants, and extension specialists to learn about the correct products and formulations for each crop-disease combination.
Select the appropriate application method:
To get the most out of bio fungicides, you should consult experts to find the best application methods and rates, and use patterns for each pathogen and crop at each stage of development. Keeping application equipment calibrated is a good way to make sure that you're using the right amount of bio fungicides and not wasting them.
Prudently read labels for storage, handling, mixing, application requirements and limits:
When applying microbial biofungicides, take care to ensure that you maintain the viability of the living ingredients. Microbial biofungicides usually contain living microorganisms, so they need to be kept cool and dry, and you should not store them for long periods. Biofungicides are not water-soluble, so during application, you need to keep them mixed up by regularly shaking the container or stirring them with your hand.
