It has been found to be rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins that fight against disease and digestive enzymes, amongst other nutrients. Bovine colostrum supplements are made by pasteurising colostrum obtained from healthy, grass-fed cows. This formula is dried out and then made into powders or pills. These supplements are easy to procure and can simply be mixed into a liquid to consume.Bovine colostrum has been described as a slightly yellowish product that has a taste and smell that is similar to buttermilk. To reap the best benefits of this formula, it’s important that the source of bovine colostrum supplements be grass-fed cows rather than those raised with artificial hormone supplements.Bovine colostrum is not recommended for those who react badly to or are intolerant to cow’s milk. Do consult a physician before adding it to your prescribed supplements. It should also be noted that colostrum powders and pills may also contain common allergens like cow’s milk or soy. Sourcing bovine colostrum from a safe, reputable outlet is extremely important as it must be properly pasteurised.

• Morningstar minerals rejuvenating spray : Feels incredibly refreshing, its excellent for your skin in the long term, and you can spray it absolutely everywhere, even on your hair. Its a nice way of replenishing minerals in your body

fostering cats in beijing was really good for my mental health and it put me in touch with a community of animal lovers. taikoo lives paris and mango's forever home is in the UK. so when the opportunity came up to earn a little extra money in pet care, i thought it would be really nice to have animals in my life again.
now i'm house-sitting / dog-sitting for a family who is on summer vacation in europe (they're european). they have a 3 year old french bulldog named pavlo. this experience is teaching me that as much as i love dogs, i'm a cat person at heart and my lifestyle is more conducive for a cat. pavlo is a pandemic puppy and has never been left alone before so a major stipulation and why it was so hard to find someone is that i have to stay in their house. they also live quite far out in queens (like past the last stop on the 7 train). it actually works out since i'm a short enough distance where it's convenient for me to still stop by my apartment every 2 to 3 days.
french bulldogs are ... notoriously high needs dogs bc they're brachycephalic. i believe he already has had surgery for BOAS. he was the runt of his litter, has a merle coat, partial heterochromia in both eyes where each eye is half blue and half brown, apparently his snout is not as pushed in as it should be (i cannot imagine what other difficulties breathing he would have had if his snout met the breed standard bc he is struggling as is) and the pink nose he was born with didn't turn fully black.
he only drinks bottled european mineral water from a natural spring and after his walks, his paws get wiped down with baby wipes and he gets a spoonful of greek yoghurt to cool down, his favourite treats are freeze dried single ingredient salmon. his meals are a concoction involving his 100% human-grade ingredients pre-portioned fresh dog food and his supplements (like bovine colostrum ??) and dog-safe bone broth and fish oil. he needs eye drops consistently, doesn't know how to use the stairs so i have to carry him up to bed every night, has immense separation anxiety where i can't go to the bathroom or take a shower by myself (i do understand they've been selectively bred to be entirely dependent on their owners) and most terrifying of all for me is when i take him on walks, he sounds like a pig and i'm afraid he might get heat stroke / asphyxiate any moment.
understandably they have cameras around the house - which i thought was for me but then i realise the level of sight they were at and they were for the dog. the dad of the family told me that once he rushed home from his work day bc the cameras didn't detect any movement from pavlo all day - turns out he was just stuck on the stairs trying to go up them looking for his owners who were just out of the house at their jobs.
taking care of him brought this article to mind... i have complicated feelings about how much care this dog needs and the ethics on this breed's existence considering what it takes to give him the best quality of life he can have due to all his medical problems. the interesting thing is when i take him on walks, everyone he approaches says one or both of these things 1) he is so cute 2) does he have asthma ? is his breathing okay ? ... and i awkwardly smile and say he's okay, just excited but it really troubles me that ppl can really look at him and feel such endearment when i feel more distress and pity.
he is still a very sweet, loyal and cuddly dog and i'm glad for his sake that his family found someone he clicked with.

Went to see Amba again. She is doing ok. Her kidney enzymes came back fine, so she was started on the oxytetracycline yesterday. She did have diahhrea, though. She also had no hay so I asked for a hay net to be put up, and sent an email in the evening asking if she could please have free choice hay like at home.
Unfortunately, she cannot be turned out with the catheter right now. With her spooking at everything and looking like she was thinking about trying to hop the fence of the outdoor arena the other day, there’s just too high a risk that it can get ripped out. I’m hoping this will change if the antibiotics kick in and the spooking decreases. She’s been stalled at night before, but never 24/7, minus 2 days last year when the pastures were covered in black ice. And she didn't really take it well; she started violently head tossing when I let her run around in the indoor. Today she was good, but she’s lethargic.
I was going to go to tractor supply to buy her some stall toys (because I foolishly gave away the ones I had bought for Cannoli), but luckily they already had some and put them up. I’m curious to see if she will play them, because she’s never been particularly playful, which is quite possibly a symptom of the lyme.
There is a little indoor arena, so when I see her I groom her then walk her around in there for an hour. I feel really bad for her because there’s only 1 other horse there and she can’t see him even though he’s stalled next to her.
I am aiming to have her stay a month, provided she doesn't react too badly to the meds.
I need to figure out my game plan for boosting her immune system. I will reach out to that lady from the video I posted yesterday to see if she can recommend more specific herbals. The vets here aren’t against herbals by any means, but they also aren't holistic specialists so they didn’t really recommend anything targeted. I absolutely plan on keeping her on probiotics and colostrum supplements permanently at this point. But I also just want to make sure the ones I’m using, probiotic wise and immubiome, have a long shelf life and can withstand the stomach acid. In the human world so many supplements are scams since they’re unregulated, and I’m sure the situation is even worse with animals.
Maybe I should add vitamin e as well? Both she and Cannoli had levels that were fine when I tested them, though. But I know it protects neurons. If the vets think it may help I will add it. It doesn’t wind up in urine like vitamin c so maybe extra will help.
I was looking into her diet as well, but don’t necessarily think there’s anything that should be changed. She gets 1 scoop of Sunshine Plus ration balancer, 2 scoops of alfalfa pellets, 1 scoop of probiotic wise, and one scoop of immubiome am and pm. Technically, the sunshine plus is not the absolute best since it does contain molasses, but it does have yeast culture as the 4th ingredient, and also has MosPlus probiotics and bioavailable vitamin e & se. So while it wouldn't be great for a laminitic horse, for Amba with a weak immune system and microbiome that’s probably destroyed at this point, I feel like it’s a good choice. The other ration balancers that I’m aware of either don't have probiotics, or don't have them as high on the ingredient list.
I’m feeling quite depressed over this situation. But it’s a different type of depression and feeling overwhelmed lately that is not my typical seasonal, holiday, or grief-related variety. It is more a feeling of, “everything feels like BS so what is the point?” It just seems like such astronomical bad luck to have to send 2 horses to a clinic for nuero issues just a few months apart. Only 2 horses in 2014 had EDM like Cannoli. And while many more have lyme, most don’t have to get IV oxytetracycline. And there’s other things going on, too. Like my boss of many years got fired by the historical society. I wrote a post on Facebook about it and over 100 people bombarded the historical society and town board with emails supporting him in response, but they still haven't hired him back, or even bothered to find a replacement for him. So there will no longer be a farm.

10 Little Things I'm Loving Right Now
I finally feel like spring is in the air and I’m so ready! I’ve been reading new books, using new products and buying a few new things for my wardrobe and home! I’m sharing 10 things that I’m truly loving right now…I hope you enjoy this post and get a few ideas! This is the first of a monthly series so please let me know what you think!
French Kande has been one of my favorite jewelry lines for some time now! The pieces are unusual, gorgeous and really make a statement! Above, I’m wearing two necklaces from French Kande as well as a beautiful jewel encrusted bracelet! There are so many pieces to choose from on the website and they have just released their new Rue de Bac collection for spring, so be sure to check it out and find a little something to wear with your new spring clothes!
I am hosting book club at the end of this month and we read The Magnolia Palace which was a story that wove historical information with fiction to tell a story about two interesting lives at two times in history that revolve around The Frick Museum. I absolutely loved this book and read it so quickly! It’s not a heavy read, but definitely a page turner that I think you’ll love as well! Have your read The Magnolia Palace?
I am influenced by influencers every day, but I don’t shop everyday…just sometimes! Well, week before last was one of those times - I saw one of my favorite Instagrammers, Rose Hayes, post these shoes and knew I had to have them! I ordered them immediately and then checked the front porch everyday until they came! I have seriously worn them everyday since I got them and feel very good about this purchase! These shoes by JW Anderson weren’t inexpensive, but sometimes, you have to consider the price-per-wear and I have a feeling that I’ll consider these shoes to be free in the near future. I wore them with white jeans, a black tee and denim jacket to the airport yesterday and felt cute, put together and kind of trendy! And, in case you’re wondering, they are very comfortable! They come in several other colors and I’m obsessed with all of them!
I was gifted this ZO Facial Scrub by the company recently and used it up very quickly! It’s a mild exfoliant that really makes my face feel clean after I take my makeup off at night! It’s kind of like a smoother, scrubber and moisturizer all in one! I take my makeup off with my regular cleanser and then while my face is still wet, I use the ZO Scrub and then proceed with my retinol and moisturizer! I’m ordering two of these at a time from now on because I don’t want to run out!
I cannot say enough about this book from Brianna Wiest! The Pivot Year contains 365 snippets - one to read every day and it’s such a great way to start off your day! Buy one for yourself and everyone you love!
I just purchased this two piece set from Amazon and it’s my forth one! It comes in so many colors and is the most comfortable thing ever! I have it in light blue, a dark tan and a light tan! It washes well and I put it in the dryer. You’ll reach for this over and over again and at $56, you can’t beat the price!
Baldy had a little help with my stocking this year at Christmas and was given advice to buy this body oil from Necessaire! It was the best advice! I keep it in the shower and slather it all over my body while I’m still wet! It’s just so luxurious!
This three wick Grapefruit Nest Candle sits on the table in my entry and I burn it everyday! It’s such a fresh scent and works any time of the year!
I’ve been taking this Armra Colostrum for a little over a year now and love it! I haven’t read a bad review yet and it seems to much better for your system than collagen. I’ve actually stopped taking my liquid collagen and soley taking Armra now. I do take other supplements, but this is one I don’t ever forget! I love that it comes in convenient packets for travel as well as a bulk container to use at home! I add it to yogurt and mix it with my Goop Vitamin C Powder in the mornings.
This is the only item on the list that I don’t own yet, but it’s in my shopping cart! Veronica Beard is one of my favorite brands and I think this little knit jacket will be perfect for spring and go with nearly everything! I love that it’s somewhat unstructured, but also easy to dress up or wear with jeans and a tee!
I’m sitting in the sun on my porch at the Ritz Carleton in Naples Florida as I write this post! I’m getting ready to head to the gym and then to the pool! I hope you all are having the best day and thank you for reading today! I hope you find a little something you’re loving right now!

At Sleep Baker, the lactation consultant Sydney team helps educate the newborn’s parents, especially mothers about breastfeeding and its importance. They also provide a support and guidance to the first-time-moms on a wide range of issues relating to breastfeeding until they get the hang of it. Breastfeeding consultation and help for new mothers is provided immediately after their delivery by lactation consultants.  Breastfeeding comes naturally to a mother after they give birth to their newborns, but it is not true for every single mum. It gets even more difficult if the mother or the baby is separated for immediate health concerns or medical care. But as the beginning of this journey is difficult, it gets easier for a mother when she learns the tricks easily. Breastfeeding is a tiresome job. It tires the mother both mentally and physically. Healthy diet and healthy supplements plus ample sleep are the core to a happy baby, happy mother and happy family. If you are a forts time mother and have things going on in your mind regarding breastfeeding give us a call.
Tumblr media
The lactation consultant Sydney team at Sleep Baker has spoken about the many myths surrounding breastfeeding. If you have any queries about breastfeeding, your lactation consultant will be able to answer them. Some people think that breastfeeding is hard to deal with for women who have smaller breasts because they cannot produce enough milk. This is also a myth if a woman has inverted nipples it would be difficult to feed the baby. But the fact is for a newborn’s mother it is completely normal to produce enough breast milk and feed the baby to its fill as compared to a normal breast size. Colostrum, the first milk after the baby is born if fed to the baby works wonders for the baby. They have the best source of antibacterial properties, pro-biotic, gut improving enzymes, immunoglobins and highly nutritious for the baby. It protects the baby from every possible infection while nourishing the baby. According to a myth breast milk’s colour apart from white may not be good for the baby. The fact is breast milk can be in different colours. Lesser known colours of the breast milk are green, pink and blue.
The lactation consultant Sydney team at Sleep Baker supports breastfeeding for more than a year if it is possible. It is advantageous for the mother and the baby, both. For women, longer period of breastfeeding can reduce the rate of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, ovarian cysts etc. To talk to our consultants reach out to us at https://sleepbaker.com/ and schedule an appointment with us.

Please correct me if you've answered this before, but do you know any natural ways to cure heavy menstrual cycles/cramping? I'm on the fence to take birth control, any supplement/herb recommendations? Thanks!
Hi!
Magnesium reaally helps with cramps, as for the heaviness, adequate nutrition is your best ally : carbs protein and fat every 4 hours max. High quality ingredients : grass fed, pasture raised, organic, and free range. Your body wants you to feel good, it always seeks harmony and balance, you just have to provide it with the right amount of fuel for it to do its job. So eat well.
Reduce stress and regulate your nervous system : yoga (there are yoga videos on youtube to do according to your cycle), prayer, qi gong, processing your emotions and letting them flow through you instead of resisting, EFT tapping can be a great tool for that. Womb meditations are also wonderful to do a few times a week if you can.
And for supplements other than Magnesium, I recommend : Beef liver, Bee pollen, Colostrum, Chlorophyll, Nettle infusions and Hibiscus tea.
I really hope this helps!

NOT ALL MOTHERS HAVE THE COMPLETE SET
In some of the most recent work, looking into the wonderful world of the human microbiome, a strange phenomena has arisen.
About thirty of the two thousand different gut bacteria, have been discovered to prefer particular prebiotics. The prebiotics are foods that are mostly fibre and need these bacteria to complete the final breakdown.
In other words, these are things like the vegetables and fruit, nuts and whole grains that are always advisable as part of a balanced diet.
And here is the interesting discovery, one of them seems to have disappeared from people from wealthier parts of the world such as the USA and Europe. Wealthier, may be the wrong word. It's mostly countries that eat too much ultra processed food.
Scientists discovered the missing bacteria by noticing the difference between babies poo from all over the world. The women from the USA and Europe generally had babies that have a runny mess, and other parts of the world generally have slightly more solid stools.
After analysing gut microbiome from many thousands of women, the missing bacteria turned out to be bifidobacterium longum infantis.
The purpose of this particular bacteria is to eat the unusually rich glucose content of colostrum. This is the immensely diverse, super fat rich first milk from mothers. It's super- strength bioactive milk that delivers protein, sugars, fat, along with antibodies to fight bacteria and viruses. It also delivers digestive enzymes.
In other words, it gives the baby the best chance of surviving the first few weeks of life.
It's no problem that this bacteria is missing from some new mothers as it simply means that there is nothing to eat it, and it will therefore just pass naturally.
There are a very small number of cows that have never been inoculated with the usual hormones and anti-bacterial drugs, that produce colostrum commercially. The supplement most commonly found is Colostrum (organic-120 capsules) and is popular with athletes.
Tumblr media
It is legally accepted as it is a totally natural product and is not considered to enhance ability.
Colostrum is also at the heart of the immune system. The immune system is about as well-researched as gut microbiome. In other words, there is still a great deal to learn.
Another point made by recent research is almost stating the obvious. But the more we harbour of those super-useful digestive bacteria, the stronger our immune system.
And stress is made upon the importance of variety in food to keep those bacteria busy and multiplying. When nutritionists bang on about five or ten fresh fibre products every day, whether fruit or vegetables, they should not be ignored.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of gut microbiome is further development in the connection between all those trillions of creatures and our brain. This connection is so strong that many professionals consider the two to be as one.
The health of the gut and brain are complimentary. If one isn't happy, it follows that neither is the other.
