So I always understood that 2007 Mikey quit his job at the end of the movie. Because of the moment where he wants to get rid of his big Cowabunga Carl head. It seemed like, just like Raph, he wanted to leave behind that part of his life and go back to how things were with Leo back.

So how were things before? Did Donnie and Mikey get jobs because Splinter is less physically able to scavenge than he used to be? And if so, does Mikey quitting mean he’s looking for a different job? Will Donnie also quit? Who’s gonna make the moneys in this household?

All kinds of answers could work, and with 07 I tend to be really inconsistent with headcanons, but here are some general thoughts

I like the idea of Mikey quitting. It’s evident he doesn’t enjoy that job. Same thing with Donnie. But here’s the issue: what job can they get while staying disguised? If there are other options, will they really be much better?

Leonardo or Raph or both could get jobs. But like. What jobs?

Possibly Raph and Mikey could trade off on birthday party duty. They’d be able to take more gigs and feel less overwhelmed that way. I think it’d be a really sweet gesture from Raph, and he’d be better at it than Donnie or Leo. I also think he would hate it, though.

Another possibility: Donnie could work for April. Possibly Mikey and Raph could too? The main problem here is, what could they do and how much could she pay them? If she’s trying to do this all herself I think it makes sense she’s need tech support, especially if her company does well. But she’s not necessarily in a position to be hiring, especially hiring someone she can’t put on her records. Ya know?

And Leo could be a ghostwriter (no I’m not just taking all opportunities to make ghost puns about 07 Leo what are you talking about). After his time away I think he’d find it useful to write stuff down, and as he sees his brothers struggling it makes sense he’d pivot that to try to help with income.

Mariel is the type who apologizes to inanimate objects when she bumps into them and Axtapor is the kind who materializes from nowhere seconds later to ask, "this guy botherin' ye?" this frazzles her and often leads to her having to "hold him back" but he gives up the act pretty quickly because he thinks her worried face is cute and can't help but laugh

he also runs into things with alarming regularity when she's around, esp if she's focused on him because "she's so cute wow i can't believe she likes me"
