A lot of people want community, but they don't want to put in the work and effort it takes to build community
to be honest, I've considered that some people's concept of community tends to be aggressively one sided

These days, I have long debated what to write regarding Palestine-Israel, and questioned why I should write anything at all. The idea that celebrities and the loudest chronically online people you've ever met, blessed in their ignorance and indifferent to livehoods different than theirs, feel the need to opinate on social and geopolitical issues is absolutely insane. Most of the time, they do more harm than good—spreading misinformation like wildfire. Such opinions are what convinced me to ultimately talk about it.
Rest assured I'm not particularly qualified to talk about any of this, then again no one seems (or tries) to be. This is not a statement, simply questions about selected nuance. Full disclosure: I am of Palestinian descent. And I tried my hardest to be all-encompassing and empathetic; if I fail at any moment, my sincerest apologies.
All around social media I've seen only two kinds of posts regarding Palestine and Israel; they're either completely favorable to Israel and dehumanize Palestine or they treat Palestines as a footnote, in which it's made to assure its author doesn't endorse murder but also to point out that Palestine "deserve what's coming." There's a certain nuance required to support Palestine that's not asked when supporting Israel.
I've seen Jamie Lee Curtis reposting a picture of Palestinian children watching Israelis air strikes as if they were of Israeli children. There's no doubt it was a malicious-intended post considering she credited the photographer while deleting the original caption which explicitly explained who the ones pictured were. After being severely corrected in the comments, she simply deleted and made no mention of it. Guess children don't matter if they're Palestinian. I've seen way too many celebrities responding to the conflict with worries about how they might be affected by it, as self-centered and selfish as you can imagine.
I've seen a journalist claim that 40 Israeli babies were beheaded and multiple newspapers (many of them British, because what else can you expect from them?) and public figures reposting as a fact, only for the same journalist to later claim she actually "never said that" (she absolutely did). Also the IDF explaining they have no information confirming the allegations that 'Hamas beheaded babies'. I've seen people using statements from Sabra and Shatila massacre survivors and trying to rewrite Palestine, which were the victims of said crime, as the perpetrators. I've seen people using videos of Russian attacks as Palestinian ones. I've seen a British journalist fabricating a harmful statement from a Palestinian Ambassador to help dehumanize Palestine, and being proud of such. I've seen BBC using the nuances of language to their liking, reporting how Israelis were 'killed' while Palestinians 'died'. Always heard journalists avoid adjectives in favor of being unbiased. Again, guess that's unimportant when it comes to Palestine. Most of all, I've seen people equate supporting Palestine to anti-semitism.
If that belief steams that Palestine and Hamas are one-and-the-same, and the latter is a anti-semitism organization, then that's another concern I'd like to add the recently appraised 'nuance'.
Hamas first appeared during the first intifada, a Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation of the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem. The signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993 marked the end of the uprising—an agreement between Israel and Palestine meant to lay the groundwork for the formation of a Palestinian state alongside Israel. Instead, it has erased Palestine's recognition as a State. In its history, Hamas have equate the liberation of Palestinians with the destruction of Israel, likely the reason they're a highly divisive organization that has often been at oddens with more mainstream Palestinian politicians. However, Hamas backtracked on its aims in a 2017 proclamation, making it clear that what it wants is to end a “racist, anti-human and colonial Zionist project.” In its 16th topic, they state "Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion. Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine."
The description of the Israeli occupation as fascist most likely comes from the similarities of Palestine to an "open air prison". They have no control of their own borders (IDF controls who and what enters or leaves) and are deemed stateless. "In defiance of international law, Israel considers all Palestinians inhabitants of the occupied Palestinian territory as non-citizens and foreign residents." Meaning if they leave their territory, they won't be allowed back in. Their rights in the Arab World are uncertain, particularly in Lebanon and Egypt where they are denied rights to secure residency, employment, property, communal interaction and family unification. Procedures to allow non-residents to apply for naturalisation in Lebanon, Egypt and Saudi Arabia do not apply to stateless Palestinians. So while those asking for Palestinians to be evacuated for their safety certainly have noble intentions, I ask of you: where they will go? Can you imagine walking away from home knowing you're heading into nothing? What's the difference between living in the rumbles of their homes and being homeless in another country?
The ones who decide to stay (and the ones unable to leave) are likely not making it for much longer. According to the United Nations, roughly 6,400 Palestinians and 300 Israelis have been killed in the ongoing conflict since 2008, not counting the recent fatalities. Is it truly a war if one side is so overpowering in its resources and retaliations? I feel the need to point out these stats to question why the notion that "violence is never the answer" is only used now. When it has been the only response until now.
Then again, Hamas remains a polarizing force in Palestinian society. They're an organization that's slaughtering families and less than a third of Palestinians think the group deserves to represent them. There has not been an opportunity, however, for elections to change their representatives. Palestinians living in Gaza must endure an unstable political reality with an unrepresentative government implementing repressive policies against LGBTQ people and abusive policies against detainees. Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu purposefully propped up Hamas and there has been speculation that Iran has supported them. I've seen many post as if it's a fact, so I'd like to reinforce that it's speculation. In essence, Hamas is a terrorist group with questionable history and even more questionable allies. None of which has the Palestine's best interests at heart.
This has been overly long, and I still haven't touched on all topics I wished to address. Some I probably couldn't express properly since it's such a complex geopolitical issue. Then again, no one seems to try while all seem very comfortable in being as biased as they wish to be. So I thought I add my compassionate two cents in favor of Palestine and all the years of oppresion they've endured. I still hope you'll read this to the end, and extended to Palestine the same sympathetic hand you've rightfully extended to Israeli citizens.
My heart aches for the innocent people murdered, Palestinian and Israeli. Settlers aren’t innocent, but people who were born there didn't really choose to be one. Jewish people following matters of faith don't deserve to die. No one has (or should have) the right to take someone's life away. People at the Gaza Strip that are either just trying to survive or attempting to protect their homes also don't deserve to die, as flawed as their logic and actions might be, and many are missing that nuance. The denial of food, water, and medical aid, violates the Geneva convention. And it's a kind of retaliation that Palestine in its entirety will never be able to match.
Currently, the Israeli government is preparing a ground invasion of Gaza. An anonymous Israeli official said they would turn Gaza into “a city of tents.” A parliamentarian said that Israel should not concern itself with the safety of any Gazans who “chose” to stay in the Gaza Strip, as if every crossing hasn't been blocked.
Soon, the 'war' will end. And when it does, I can assure you Palestine won't be the last one standing. They've never had a real chance. I'd like to remember everyone that, despite Netanyahu's claims that they are "human animals", Palestinians are human beings. People. All of which deserve to live, deserve compassion and deserve protection. They also deserve to be remembered.

Do you think there's any reason for Hecatia being one of the strongest characters in the series? Someone from a religion that isn't believed in anymore being powerful, doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the series. If someone from a dead religion showed up in Touhou, the first question should be how they're even still alive.
I'm sure you could reverse-engineer some headcanon excuses, but my personal guess is that rather than any particular in-universe justification, once ZUN decided that he wanted to have a powerful, "independent" Hell goddess (outside the Ministry's hierarchy), it wasn't a long leap - if a leap at all - to "Okay, so let's make her more powerful than the Ministry".
I mean, I don't know what led him to go for specifically Hecate/Hecatia in the first place, so we don't really have any first principles to start from.
She didn't have to be especially powerful just to be an independent Hell goddess; could've just been someone from the middle or bottom of the pecking order. But the story of LoLK is about her and Junko clowning on the Moon, so the tone is pretty different depending on whether she's super powerful or some scrappy underdog (and DDC had just come out). I'm sure that like any other writer, a lot of the time ZUN just does things because the end result is what he wants, rather than every step following naturally from the previous one. Or hecc, maybe the only Greek goddess in the series just had some exotic prestige in his eyes that Japanese gods don't, I don't know.
If you really get into some weird... comparative mythology, you could make a decent argument for Hecate the pre-Olympian titan-killer (cherrypicking the best of all versions, as one does) to be more powerful than most of the gods we see in Touhou, but cross-mythological power level debates are probably even less fruitful than Touhou ones. The very question of characters that in human belief predate humanity and how they might come into being "retroactively", and what that actually means for their backstories or power levels, is a whole swamp I'm not gonna wade into. (This may include some Lunarians, but it's hard to say which - humans just kinda appear unannounced in Japanese mythology. In the Kojiki, they already seem to exist by the time of Izanami's death.)
Somehow the matter of fading faith and belief has never come up in relation to any characters outside Earth and Gensokyo, that I can remember. I can easily imagine that the afterlife itself and maybe the oni there still have enough belief in the present day for it to not be a problem, or that ZUN as the writer simply has other things to talk about whenever those characters appear. But whether the otherworlders are actually protected somehow or ZUN just doesn't bring it up, faith or lack thereof has never seemed relevant there on a meta level.

Usually there’d be some goofy ass art to go with an analysis of tf2 characters but art block is knifing me up right now so have headcanons which get a smidge too personal with the immigrant experience
The Defense class is my favorite out of the three, not only because of their in-game mechanics, but because of the potential they have for character. All of them are, in some way, more normal than the rest (or appear to be in the case of Engineer). Demoman’s just an alcoholic (nothing inherently wrong with addiction anyway), Heavy’s just real passionate about his job, and Engineer is, deceptively, rather level-headed. Just based on inference I like to think they are three people fundamentally damaged by the concept of the “American Dream;” to be religious and good and serve your country, no matter how bad it may treat you. On one hand, you’ve got two immigrants, and on the other, you’ve got a natural born Texan, raised in the Bible Belt, so of course said dream will impact them differently. Seeing both Demo’s and Heavy’s families, it’s safe to assume they’re both raised with a very collectivist mindset. With the Engineer, it is mere guessing based on the stereotypical image of a Bible Belt family. Being an immigrant in a country which doesn’t share your ideals is a rough integration process already, nevermind the potential discrimination their status as foreigners might lend them to (it’s the 70s cmon man). Hence they do not stay in America because they genuinely view it as home; they stay in America out of sacrifice; money is made for their families, be it in the Heavy’s case a necessity, or the Demoman’s, to please. Neither of their beliefs align with America’s, nor their physical appearance mimic that of a stereotypical American. Both of them have probably felt outcasted before- especially regarding their appearance- and this is no exception. The United States is but a well-paying prison. For Dell, though, it is, without doubt, his home. Bee Cave Texas basking in all its fine American  beauty. Regardless, it’s not as perfect as he was raised to think. (I’ve less to say on behalf of him, actually. I didn’t grow up in the Bible Belt, so lots of these ideas are mumbo jumbo from book and media portrayals.) He’s grown up in the perfect American family, a providing father, a loving mother, the face of every American cartoon and magazine. Good people with a faith in god, what more can he ask for? He didn’t exactly feel as though all the values he held truly represented him as a person. Maybe it’s a repressed homosexuality thing, or growing up as a little girl and deciding it wasn’t right for him thing, or generally realizing that his ideas were pretty outdated; especially when interacting with the rest of the Defense team. All three of them are from different continents, and still manage to find they have so much in common. MAN the POTENTIAL for CHARACTER (going insane. Truly the guys ever

Just wanted to share about what one of my brothers was saying the day before.
Gonna have to paraphrase here:
So I found out recently that my brother is an "Azula wasn't sympathetic" fan; and that was his exact argument, whereas I, of course, argued the opposite. The problem was that I'm so used to and sick of hearing that same old tired argument(s) that I at times struggled to explain my viewpoint in a respectable way and ended up insulting him (first?). He insulted me too but that doesn't matter, I guess (also that's beside the point).
I realized after that we both made good points and told him as much, but I don't think I was able to convey to him what I was trying to get at. I now think the reason why he just couldn't understand where I was coming from originally (and still technically am) is that we truly were basing our arguments on two different worldviews and I believe it may be the same with other anti-Azulas (for lack of a better phrase).
His argument hinged on the idea that how you act is all you deserve to be seen as. That what someone does or how they present themself to the world, dictates how much sympathy he/she/they deserve.
Mine however, came from a place of understanding and the belief that who you can be and who you were kept from being, matter more than who you currently are, as it pertains to the deserving of sympathy.
He also argued that the general consensus of the fandom is proof enough, but we Azula fans know that the general population doesn't just get to decide how everyone views someone or something. Outliers matter too, especially large outliers like the Azula fandom (that appears to grow more and more everyday ✨⭐️).
Although I eventually agreed, for example, with his assertion that Ozai preferred Azula over Zuko because she was more "ruthless" (or less compassionate when they were young children, as I saw it). I still believe that my original point that he actually preferred her because she was the superior bender, was true as well. I argued that he used her for that reason. My brother however, I guess didn't pay attention to the word "used". Being used by a parent is damaging to a child's psyche and teaches them from a young age that they exist to satisfy others, and be tools for others' glory.
Perhaps more importantly—beyond the fact that I pointed out she was only 14, was indoctrinated almost from birth and that Ursa was NOT afraid of her but actually scolded her (due to thinking Azula was inappropriate and perhaps un-ladylike, not "evil")—I also had in mind that Ozai's favoring her was a point against her childhood, not for it. There are still people in the world that think Ozai's preference for Azula was something to envy when that couldn't be further from the truth. The fact that Ursa favored Zuko and Ozai favored Azula is one of the, if not the biggest examples of and reasons for why Azula deserved sympathy.
Children need love, appreciation, encouragement and safety. Not favoritism, egocentric-interest, manipulation and fear.
(There were other things said while my other brother watched that I angrily disagreed with and that I myself may have been wrong to say/came across as overemotional because of, but I'll stop here. At least, for now.)
Edit: Small rephrasing.

Are the "deaths" of older Kirby characters unserious?
For all the Kirby characters that are believed to have "died", I wonder if the ones in earlier periods of the series are not actually seriously dead.
The newer, Kumazaki era Kirby characters that have died are much more legitimate. Sectonia is absolutely 100% dead without a doubt. Same for Max Haltmann and Star Dream, as well as Void Termina. I also believe Fecto Elfilis to be dead, since the Forgo half is gone and Chaos Elfilis absorbed into Elfilin. I'm sure that Elfilin will be all that's left of Fecto Elfilis, meaning the original unsplit creature is a goner.
But what about the pre-Kumazaki Kirby characters that are believed to have "died"? It appears they're much less certain. It's ambiguous.
Tumblr media
Marx looks like he died at the end of Milky Way Wishes. That impact onto Nova absolutely looks more than enough to kill Marx. How could he have survived that? He also doesn't appear for a very long time after Super Star and its remake. He's been absent in a lot of Kirby games, which can also lead to the belief that he died after MWW.
Although he does appear in Mass Attack... but I have doubts on its canonicity.
... And then he comes back in Star Allies! Seemingly out of nowhere. It's kind of funny that the lore never explains how the hell Marx survived his encounter with Kirby and just randomly comes back, now deciding he wants to team up with Kirby to stop Void Termina.
I get the sense that HAL didn't really think much of Marx's "death" like they thought of Sectonia's death. Marx came from an era where lore wasn't really a thing, so it's harder to take his death seriously.
It's still funny to think how the hell he survived the Nova impact, though. I guess he was just really durable? And I mean, Kirby does survive big impacts, such as Star Dream's explosion after destroying it, so I guess if Kirby could survive them, Marx probably could as well.
I can, of course, bring up my headcanon that Marx was barely durable enough to survive the Nova impact, but he was gravely injured. The only reason he survived is because Magolor and the Lor Starcutter showed up at the right time to save him.
Also, didn't it look like that Dark Meta Knight died at the end of Amazing Mirror when the mirror got shattered? It kinda did. But just like Marx, he also comes back out of nowhere for Star Allies with no explanation as to how he survived and got to the point of helping out.
I'm aware he also appears in Triple Deluxe's Dededetour, but I've always been incredibly loose about considering side modes as canon. Or I guess it's extra proof that older character "deaths" are unserious.
What does this mean for other pre-Kumazaki Kirby characters that may have "died"? Such as Nightmare, the many leaders of Dark Matter (Blade, Zero, Zero-Two) and Drawcia? Are they still alive?
If Marx was thought to have "died" but then survived and is still around, who's to say that couldn't also be the case for Nightmare?
Nightmare has not appeared for a long time after Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. In fact I'm pretty sure the only other appearance he's made in the series is... a parallel version of him in Super Kirby Clash, and I think that's basically it.
But Marx was similar! He didn't show up for a bunch of games after Super Star. And then he just randomly shows up in Star Allies lmao.
Maybe Nightmare is still out there, recuperating for a long time after Kirby kicked his ass. Perhaps he could be planning his next attack as he tries to become much, much, much stronger than he was before.
And maybe Dark Matter could make a return. Maybe one of the Dark Matter leaders in the DMT games could be recuperating and planning a new attack, or a brand new Dark Matter leader could exist.
I think it'd be awesome of Nightmare or Dark Matter were to come back as villains in future Kirby games. There's huge amounts of potential for how powerful they could be in the Kumazaki era. They could easily expand on these villains' powers and motivations.
Imagine if Nightmare grew stronger and, instead of making only Dream Landers have nightmares, what if he was able to make multiple planets or even the whole universe have nightmares? They didn't really push his potential far enough, in my opinion. And Dark Matter could be a lot more ferocious and scary in the Kumazaki era.
HAL didn't really seem to confirm Nightmare's or Dark Matter's deaths the same way they did for Sectonia and Haltmann. Maybe they could still be out there. And maybe they could attack again?
Just a cool thought, in my opinion.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

My Guess on Chart System Purposes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🏵 Whole Signs:
How I see myself. How I want to be seen. My ending and outcome. I heard that Whole Signs maybe better to use for predictions and after the age of 30. I believe it's because at 30, we start to show our true self to the world clearly and confidently. This is our true self we had been finding and discovering 30 years earlier. After 30 years, you know what path makes you shine the most and feel the best.
🏵 Placidus:
How everyone actually sees me. How I actually come across, sometimes even without my control (external conditions like genetics and environments). My strategy I've learned and developed in childhood. My everyday behaviors. My storyline and process. Because of the involvement of external conditions, Placidus maybe better to use before the age of 30. It's a combination of how you see yourself and how everyone sees you. It gives me Neptunian vibe as you still rely on the external validations to view yourself. After 30 years, you are much less controlled by the external conditions, so Placidus affects how people view you less. In another way, Placidus is a realistic tool to achieve Whole Signs. You learn and master Placidus to achieve Whole Signs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🏵 I will use some placements of my chart as an example. I have Neptune and Uranus in the 1st house in Placidus and Neptune in the 1st house in Whole Signs. Well, I can't control my appearance other than plastic surgeries. No matter how I feel, Neptune makes me look innocent and vulnerable in people's eyes. I still relate to Uranus in the 1st house I guess since Uranus also trine my Sun and Mercury and I'm a Uranus dominant.
🏵 I have Sun and Mercury in the 9th house in Placidus and Sun and Mercury in the 10th house in Whole Signs. I relate to the positions of Sun and Mercury in the 10th house in Whole Signs more. To be honest, I also have Sun Conjunction Midheaven, so it also explains how I feel. Now Sun and Mercury in the 9th house is how I come across, at least before the age of 30. I am philosophical, open-minded, and big picture. I think it's due to the realistic condition I was born into. I was born with Saturn in the 4th house. This position urges me to explore the world besides my own country. I've developed my own belief systems rather than what everyone told me. I come across this way in people's eyes without my control. But who I actually want to be seen or achieve no matter how I was born into is as an authoritative figure, hence Sun in the 10th house.
🏵 With Moon in the 10th house in Placidus, I come across as feminine and gentle in people's eyes without my control (due to my look and behaviors). It's my strategy to handle social contacts. But deep down, I want to be seen as the Sun in the 10th house. Eventually, people will realize behind my friendly behaviors is a masculine, ambitious, and confident person.
I still comtemplate on this thought. Let me know what you think.

ok i am gonna share that nightmare i had yesterday actually. tw for a variety of topics including cults, attempted murder of a young child, kind of barely an age gap relationship between a younger child and a teenager, gun violence, listen it was crazy i have no idea what my sleeping brain was cooking. i should not have to say this about a nightmare i had while unconscious but to be clear i don't ENDORSE any of these topics IRL or some bullshit like that
also this nightmare involved pokemon horizons characters for some reason so if you watch the pokemon anime and don't want to hear about hypothetical nightmare scenarios of very AU things happening to them i would also avoid
so i'm setting the stage here. as far as i can tell i was just normal me in this dream (notable because i am usually Not "just me" in my dreams) but i was a teenager again instead of a 24 year old. i was living in a large multi-story house with the main cast of pokemon horizons (everyone on the brave asagi), and like a few other people not from horizons but they don't really matter. the dream timeskipped through a lot of years of me living there, like i had been there for a while.
despite me saying the cast of horizons was there my brain was very pick and choosey with what actual character traits or recognizable features remained of these characters other than their names/general appearances. importantly liko was a good bit younger than her anime appearance, not sure of her exact age but like, elementary school. she was Extremely chronically ill with some sort of undefined illness my brain made up, i guess. she lived in the basement of the house and was totally bedridden Most of the time, as to survive she had to constantly be hooked up to a somewhat bulky machine. she could be off of it for very brief periods but to get around anywhere, that machine had to come with her. she was generally way more timid and also way more woozy and relied on everyone for care.
Tumblr media
^ like imagine her but even smaller and very sickly constantly. if you have never watched pokemon horizons lol
Tumblr media
^ the main other person i interacted with was amethio who was probably the most recognizable - similar personality, though it was probably what i'd imagine him to be like after a hypothetical redemption arc, still irritable and brooding but like, he has a soft side. me and him were around the same age here (14?) and we were the main two watching after liko. he was like?? in love with liko??? my brain really never acknowledged the age gap here it was just normal and no one thought anything of it. that being said that's not something he expressed directly to her and they weren't in a relationship
anyway so the major thing here is that this household was pretty much a small cult. isolated from the outside world, general actual cult shit, but also we had some sort of belief we were all indoctrinated into by the higher up adults that liko had to Die at a specific time and date, i don't remember if it was for sacrificial reasons or if a reason was even provided in the dream at all, but tldr me and amethio were expected to unplug her life support stuff without her knowing and let her die with the assumption that she would be too woozy or confused to do anything about it herself. after a lot of implied bonding with her i was expected to pretty much murder a child. suffice to say this was horrifying
we actually did the deed and like halfway through watching liko's energy fade i started thinking like. wait. why am i doing this. i know that liko is supposed to die, but is she really? am i really doing the right thing? watching her die is awful. i've cared for her so much for years and i don't want her to die. so in the middle of all of this i take amethio aside (he was off in another room because he didn't want to watch liko suffer, i was taking the role of making sure it happened) and i'm like. amethio why are we doing this. you love her right. you love liko so you don't want her to die. i don't want to kill her. and he's like. Fuck you're right this is insane i don't care about the past however many years i cannot let liko die. so we agree to plug her life support stuff back in and confront the rest of the house
after ensuring liko was hooked back up and starting to recover, i made my way upstairs to confront the adults in the house while amethio worked on getting her out of there safely, and like. holy shit.
Tumblr media
NEVER THOUGHT I'D HAVE ANY SORT OF DREAM/NIGHTMARE WHERE FRIEDE FROM POKEMON HORIZONS TRIES TO LITERALLY KILL ME, but i GUESS this is the life i'm leading now. i was like dude why are we killing liko you can't just make me kill a child i'm sorry and his positive demeanor quickly turned sour and the rest of the dream devolved into a blur of confusing violence, one because i was being chased after multiple fully grown adults in the body of a teenager, both by violent pokemon and like, literal guns, i was being shot at, and also because from here on out the dream started heavily deteriorating, like it became more weird and less linear and stuff that didn't make sense was happening. i never knew what ended up happening to amethio and liko because in a particularly close bout of violence i suddenly woke up sweating/shaking/heart pounding. and then after i caught my breath and realized i was awake i was just like. HELLO???????? WHAT THE FUCK?????
idk the last time i had a dream this vivid much less one this off the walls. i keep thinking about it cause like, due to Reasons if i'm dreaming about liko, especially as someone in such a vulnerable and awful position, that probably means something/pertains to my personal real life trauma, like the general aura of this dream read as a ptsd nightmare to me, but fuck if i'm gonna be able to parse all that today i have no idea what the fuck any of this means. i'm just losing my shit. especially because i went back to sleep afterwards and had another dream about pokemon horizons characters but it was literally just cute shit where i was liko and in a relationship with dot high school AU style and we were hanging out after class. like the complete tonal whiplash is so fucking funny. why on earth did my brain make the most wildly contrasting pokemon fanfictions of all time while i was asleep. helpppp

alright folks
i found this buried somewhere in my notes app and im 87% sure i wrote it bored out of my mind during english class. so have some crudely written 2000 or so words of Starman Headcanons (somewhat) (1/3)
metallic shell, organic insides (mostly)
some sort of affinity for magnetic fields. maybe how some grow spikes? like a long time exposure to strong magnetic fields makes them grow spikes. i can see it
born without their shell, forming it throughout childhood. it's the part that regenerates the fastest, but wounds or shell damage is still highly dangerous because it may make it grow in undesirable spots, such as inside your body, and the boosted growth endangers you even more. kinda like those boars with tusks that can pierce their own skull. and corals
speaking of corals. that's how they form the shell. just as giegue's species, starmen come from an aquatic planet with a shit ton of metallic matter suspended on it? is that the word? whatever its like ferrous water. they use it to build the shells like corals do. underneath it they bear resemblance to giegue's species if they were like tailless and earless and all
oh yeah both of those share a common ancestor. yea they're from the same planet. yea that strange camaraderie is part of why giegue's species allow the starmen to use PSI. ill get back to this later maybe
also giegue's species is a mouthful so im gonna call them gamers now
starmen reproduce mainly asexually through fragmentation. like starfish. why? i said so.
do they reproduce sexually too?? who the FUCK knows man but if they do it sure isn't internally
are they vertebrates? invertebrates? ¯_(ツ)_/¯ (probably invertebrates, or an alien version of that)
unlike popular belief their earth name isn't starmen because of them being aliens. it's because the one who named them was really into starfish. saw one's detached arm regenerating and was like "holy shit… it's like that weird ass fish i saw the other day"
everyone else understandably so didn't catch onto this because why would you and went with "ouughh Man from Stars.." which is succint and understandable but it's boring as hell. let me have this.
their sheer psychic prowess makes them highly sought after as mercenaries. modern starman society is somewhat shaped around this and ESPECIALLY around their gamer relatives
space mercenaries babey!
coming back to their shell. ghosts of starmen, aka starmen elders, have begun their decaying process and are losing their affinity with magnetic fields. can't regrow or renew shell anymore. die of normal causes like disease or regular Old Age typically but if not that aint saving them because they die for lobster reasons too.
however, they're still highly valued and sought after, not just because of their overall rarity compared to juvenile/younger starmen, but because they have untold years of skill and experience in conquest and battle. AND sheer psychic power even if they're slowing down a lil
this includes so-called ghosts of starmen (who are named for their ethereal physical appearance and not actually because they're ghosts, although that would be cool as hell i do think they at least deserve a break in the. afterlife. for aliens? they deserve a rest), starmen deluxe, and final starmen, these last ones having the highest demand (high skill and strength while still being relatively young)
starmen's shells can be branded with crests to show/pledge allegiance. many have or have had several crests at once. starmen with a single crest are choosing to display ultimate loyalty to a single power which sure as fuck means something to the cosmos. ALL those civilizations you could get hired by, and even among the nations who are allied/have peace together some still refuse to get more than one, which is seen as. rude as hell like what the fuck man we're pals
starmen nationalism??????? i GUESS????
not sure if that's the exact word, but whatever man english isn't my mother (heh) language
a starman without crests… ohh man. they know the system sucks ass and are also seen as kinda. dissidents. and pests because ???? you're a starman asshat what else are you good for. man i did not like writing that

Unexpected Ch 85 Theory Post
Spoilers under the cut
*deep breath*
HE KNOWS
HE KNEW THE WHOLE TIME
I FUCKING KNEW IT
okay so i don't actually have any definitive proof or substantial evidence beyond this and almost 20 years of an obsession with this character's personality specifically
HOWEVER
Chapter 79
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Key Points:
Shikamaru checks in immediately after seeing the weirdness and asks about what happened "when they were attacked by Boruto".
The translation might be a little weird here, 'cause I don't completely understand Eida's response - which is a shame because I think most of the analysis works better when you can grasp the nuance. Anyway, lol.
She starts off saying "Nothing really" - there's a pause where Kawaki tells her to tell Shikamaru that the Hokage's dead. So, jumping from, "Nothing, all good" to "oh shit actually the Hokage is dead, my bad" is maybe slightly suspicious.
Chapter 80
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Key Points:
Eida says rather bluntly that the Hokage has been killed by Boruto, but she's under duress with Kawaki's hand to her throat, so maybe she's not sounding like she usually would. Just a guess.
"There's a very high possibility" is not the same as "The Hokage has definitely been killed". I don't think Shikamaru 100% believes Eida, but I do think the possibility is upsetting enough for him to act on it regardless.
Shikadai is actually the main reason I am fairly confident Shikamaru knows something is up because this kid sees all this weird shit that doesn't add up and you know he talks to his dad about it.
Shikadai sees Sasuke take off with Boruto and you think he's not going to go to his dad like, "hey what the fuck?"
They're Naras, y'all. Come on now.
Chapter 81
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Key Points:
Shikamaru is the Hokage now, apparently.
Okay, that's actually a huge factor to consider as well because I don't think he would take that position if he didn't believe Naruto was still alive and able to take it back as soon as he was found. Shikamaru doesn't want to be Hokage, are you kidding me?
"The sanctions against Boruto were in accordance with regulations." "It's also the will of the Hidden Leaf's citizens." "No matter what I order, it won't convince them."
These are not comments that come from someone dead set on hunting down and punishing a criminal that murdered a political leader. This is the kind of thing you say when you're like, "listen, yes, but also bureaucracy is a bitch and I've gotta keep up appearances or someone else will actually hunt Boruto down and kill him".
He's less worried about the fact Sarada is trying to protect Boruto and more worried about how she's doing it. In my opinion. This is not a fact, I just wanted to point it out, lol.
Again, Shikadai hears Naruto's daughter, and who is currently perceived as being Kawaki's sister, say she wants to protect Boruto who supposedly killed her dad. She also said she feels like he's alive somewhere, and I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that is something a lot of other folks, including Shikamaru, feel as well.
Shikamaru's reaction to when Boruto arrives pretty much solidified my belief that he knows something is up and he doesn't think Boruto killed Naruto, or at the very least that Naruto could still be alive and there's more going on with this whole situation, so he's not eager to jump the gun and kill a child. Which is more than I can say for some of our pol- nevermind ignore this
Shikamaru's reaction to hearing Code is there and attacking people: Orders an evacuation and tries to figure out why Code is attacking, immediately concerned about the safety of the villagers.
Shikamaru's reaction to hearing Boruto just showed up: Prioritize Code and the claw marks, but keep tabs on Boruto without suggesting any kind of attack or restraint or anything like that. He's not worried about Boruto. But he is wanting to gather more intel on the situation as a whole, which makes sense, all things considered.
Chapter 82
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Key Notes:
Very intentional frame of Shikadai seeing Kawaki show up, Kawaki shouting for Himawari and Inojin to move out of the way so he can attack a claw thing, not worrying about their safety at all.
Himawari calls him "Big Bro" and Kawaki tells her not to call him that. Not very big brotherly. Again, Shikadai is there for this. Along with everyone else, so. You know, things are kind of weird. These are weird dynamics that are not matching up with their false memories.
Chapter 83
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Key Points:
Shikamaru, again, wants Kawaki to focus on eliminating Code - who is an actual threat - and pretty much ignores Boruto because he's not a concern.
Focuses on getting rid of the claw things even after Code has run off, prioritizing keeping him away and protecting the villagers instead of "trying to bring a Hokage killer to justice" or whatever the fuck people are trying to do with Boruto.
Chapter 84
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Key Notes:
What Shikamaru took away from Kawaki's breakdown of the situation was that Boruto only came to the village to deal with Code. Meaning that Boruto was never a threat to the village, and there's no reason to worry about him, but it also probably indicates that there is something worth doing more digging into to figure out what the fuck is going on with all of the discrepancies in his memory that I'm sure are pissing him off.
"It better not be someone in the sensory unit."
Kawaki doesn't trust Shikamaru, and probably not anyone else in Konoha. That's not a very "Naruto's son" kind of attitude to have. The fact Shikamaru doesn't seem phased by that distrust means he's either been dealing with it for three years already, has been suspicious of Kawaki this whole time, and more likely both of those things.
Also, what the fuck, that sounds threatening? Ino would kick Kawaki's ass. I'd love to see him try though, lol. No I wouldn't, don't do that please.
Weird tensions between Kawaki (supposedly Naruto's son) and Sarada (Sasuke's daughter). If it were a rivalry, that'd make sense. But the hostility between them? Nah, that don't track.
Sarada basically confirming that Boruto was after Code and most likely trying to find a way to save the people who have been turned into trees. A very "Naruto's son" kind of attitude.
Chapter 85
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Key Notes:
BOY. IF AMADO KNOWS, SHIKAMARU HAS KNOWN THE WHOLE GOD DAMN TIME
His face is hidden and he's not surprised or saying anything because if he's been trying to figure this shit out without tipping anyone off WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU SAY
Especially if he doesn't want Eida to know that he knows, because jesus christ her powers are scary and he's probably not eager to have to add that into the mess of variables he's already tangling with.
In Summary
Main Points
Shikamaru has been suspicious of this shit since omnipotence went off and fucked with people's heads.
Shikadai has been privy to some strangeness around Himawari, Kawaki and Boruto at the same time, and I can't imagine that he hasn't asked his dad about it or something. So whatever Shikadai has seen, I assume Shikamaru is somewhat aware of or we'll see a scene where something Shikadai saw or something he says makes it all click into place when his dad hears about it.
Shikamaru's language and attitude around Boruto have been intentionally vague and avoidant. It's the "will of the village", following the system's rules, etc. etc.
Shikamaru's more concerned with Code as a threat than with tracking down Boruto, which conveniently gives him an excuse to not pursue Boruto and prioritize the safety of the village at the same time.
Amado knows? Then Shikamaru has known. No doubt. There was a whole ass chapter where Shikamaru outsmarted Amado. Narratively speaking, we've got a point of reference for why there's a parallel here with Amado talking about this out loud and getting to see Shikamaru's reaction - or in this case, lack thereof - to hearing it.
Conclusion
Shikamaru continues to be the coolest man alive. Thank you for coming to my TED talk, byyyeeee

Shinichi's Perfect Rival?
spoilers for Chapters 350-354 (Episodes 266-268), and very minor spoilers for Chapters 981-983 (Episodes 885-886) and 1039-1042 (Episodes 1024-1025)
There are many potential rivals to Kudo Shinichi in the Detective Conan universe. First, there's Hattori Heiji, the "Great Detective of the West" to Kudo's "Great Detective of the East". There's Kaito KID, who's the modern-day Lupin to Kudo's modern-day Holmes. But of all of the characters, there is one person who would be an even better rival than Heiji or KID. Someone who mirrors Shinichi as a detective, while also being morally at odds with him. That someone... is Ooka Momiji. Yes, the rich girl from Kyoto. Let me explain.
Okay, let’s start with the first piece of the puzzle: Momiji’s detective skills. In one case, she is implied to have come to the right conclusion before Shinichi, Heiji, and Rei while not even being in the same city as them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Neither Shinichi or Heiji has shown much ability to solve cases without being present at the crime scene itself. The best comparison I could make to Momiji's feat would be the time when Kudo Yusaku was reading the newspaper on a murder and figured out the solution to a case.
Tumblr media
This isn't the only time when Momiji demonstrates her detective prowess, though. It's just the most clear. Another time, she gives a hint in the middle of a sentence which gives Heiji and Shinichi the needed information to solve the case.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the case where the code is solved by 'adding' and 'subtracting' different parts. Now, this leaves a lot up to interpretation, and I definitely didn't see this scene as Momiji being a really good detective when I first watched it, but if you really think about it, there was no reason for her to say "add" and "subtract". She could have just as easily said "The restaurant should make the food cheaper since the lines are so long." Which, now that I'm thinking about it, makes zero sense since that would only increase demand and make the lines even longer. So, my guess is that she was looking for a time to smoothly give the "add" and "subtract" hint, and found the perfect opportunity to say it.
(She did act surprised when they came up with the answer, but I'm just pegging that up to excellent acting. Wait, is she both of Shinichi's parents at the same time?)
Now, if Momiji solved the code before even talking to Heiji and Shinichi, that leaves a big plot hole. Specifically, why doesn't she just... go to the area herself (where she knew the guy was supposed to be) and potentially stop a murder from happening?
Well, the answer is actually very simple. Momiji is a brat who cares more about marrying Heiji than the life of an innocent person.
In the cases she appeared in she showed little to no interest in solving the case, instead usually pursuing Heiji. Even in the Cafe Poirot case, her motive is purely to 'help Heiji'. Despite being brilliant at it, she just does detective work whenever she feels like it. Also kinda like Yusaku, now that I think of it.
Anyways, I’m getting sidetracked. Let’s talk about Shinichi’s beliefs. Shinichi, unlike Momiji, actively pursues justice, that being the main reason he fights against the Black Organization for the same reasons. His moral compass even guides him to save the lives of people who attempt to kill others, just because he sees that the life of a person - any person - matters, even going out to say:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, you have a detective who pursues justice and values his moral compass, and a detective who completely acts in her own self-interest. Seems like a perfect basis for a potent rivalry.
Now, why does it have to be Momiji? Why not his father, Yusaku, since he holds a lot of similar traits and has a closer connection with Shinichi already? Well, Yusaku is Shinichi’s superior, and Momiji is his peer. Shinichi might begrudgingly accept the fact that Yusaku is better than him and doesn't pursue the truth, but he most certainly would not accept Momiji being either of those things. And Momiji, who expects respect from others, would react very poorly to this.
If Momiji learns about Shinichi’s secret identity as Conan, she might blackmail him to be supportive of her advances on Heiji or something, causing him to hate her even more. As is, Shinichi would be poised to see her as a disdainful rival, but might try to blackmail her back to have her help him hide his identity.
However, putting Momiji at odds with Shinichi would do more than create tension against each other. It could easily give Momiji some more character dynamics. Currently, her only real dynamic is the love triangle with Heiji and Kazuha, but if she was rivals with Shinichi she would be able to have more interesting relationships with Shinichi, Ran (if she sees the rivalry happening), maybe even Heiji and Iori. And character dynamics lead to character growth. Spending more time with Shinichi could let her mature and become less selfish and spoiled.
For Shinichi, he gets a rival that is also a detective, but also ideologically opposes him for more than five seconds (Heiji, I love you, but you moved away from rivals to friends with Shinichi... very quickly.) And this conflict with Momiji can make Shinichi rise to become a better detective, and could give him a new ally that could help with the takedown of the Black Organization.
Who knows, maybe they develop into friends after a long time. Maybe they never develop a respect for each other. Either way, I believe that Momiji would be the perfect rival for Shinichi: they are both very skilled detectives (and if I had to give one an edge I'd give it to Momiji), but they have different priorities and goals which cause them to butt heads.
So... I hope you enjoyed reading this essay as much as I enjoyed writing it, and have an amazing rest of your day.

hi! im gonna say seiga or miko for the ask game!
seiga was just done over here but she's about to come up soon :P ! so that toyosatomimi...
General opinion/How much I care about them: i love miko... 🎧 i mentioned before about coming to love the td crew as a whole over a long time of reading doujins featuring them and Miko is obviously a big part of that too. she and her crew are such a fun addition to gensokyo's worldbuilding and Miko herself is amazing. zun's historical rpf version of prince shotoku who became a hot girl wizard and wants to take over the world and is super charismatic about it? that's unmatched.
...that said, kind of a tangent here, her premise and deliberately kinda nationalistic motifs are only fun in touhou because she's contrasted with a bunch of similarly ambitious reglious leaders and their own groups, and that you know none of them would ever actually ever 'succeed'. They'll probably always be competition and waning in powers, but that consistent conflict is sort of its own kind of peace since gensokyo can always accomodate them.
A ship I love: hey guess what im not done talking about seiga because its seimiko time. just like seiyoshi i also have a really specific headcanon backstory in mind for them which i cant really get into all of it right now, but to try and sum up: Even if Miko knew Seiga's desires were only self-serving, she admired/respected/idolised/loved Seiga who appeared before her to answer all of Miko's greatest desires, and at some point decide it wasnt enough to just learn how to not die from her, but to also become a beautiful hermit who challenges the fate the world bestows them.
And it mustve been unexpected for Seiga to meet someone who managed to see her for everything she is (which includes defiling corpses and generally making an enemy of heaven every day), and not only not really care but also Gets Her.
thaaaaat all being said, in present day Miko knows Seiga has a Reputation and gets up to Antics that doesn't exactly paint hermits in the greatest light, so she's like always bouncing between two ends of a meter where she's begging her dear teacher to reign things in, or she's trying to explain to others why digging up corpses is actually not as bad as it looks 😰🥰
A non-romantic relationship that I love: it doesnt come up in my head often but her shared parenting of Kokoro along with Byakuren and Mamizou is both sweet and extremely funny. Miko taking it upon herself as a matter of pride to guide the menreiki thanks to her role in their creation is really good, and its also really funny that despite that connection she still basically has to compete with others over her, and she probably loses to the tanuki more often than not??
also does 'ex-romantic' count because i absolutely adhere to belief that in her and okina's former lives, they absolutely were a thing, bonded over a shared love of art and beauty, created a whole bunch of noh masks together... But then Miko started caring about all that a whole lot less when a certain hermit hailing from China entered the picture, and the rest was history 😌
The NOTP: call me miss no fun but it might be miko/byakuren. i do actually really love the rivalry between miko and byakuren, the back and forths, the varying hypocrisy, the thematic parallels, and the ways they do manage to work together for a common cause! I just. have yet to see a way to turn it romantic that works for me.
also on that note if you're gonna do miko/saki (which will always just be for jokes to me and never anything i sincerely consider), saki has to be the one putting a saddle on miko 🤠
My biggest headcanon about them: everything above was kinda it 😆 maybe more will come to my mind in the future...
An idea for a fanfiction I would like to write/read about them: she'd be in the seiga backstory fic too since their first meeting is kinda vital to both characters. but as for another idea... Adventure Game type story where to earn points with the people, she susses out some random people's desires and goes to find the most quick and expedient way to fulfill them n_n
Something that makes me think of them: one time in pokemon xy i thought of naming an espurr after her because i knew meowstic kinda reminded me of her 🐱

The one thing holding me back from drawing SW until then is because I am not an expert at drawing realistically like the show or semirealistically, so SCREW IT, if I want to draw all the ideas I have for it I will have to use my own style. I am usually not a fan of this because I love using a media's artstyle instead both to pay hommage to it and to train, but I do it when it's either live action or on the contrary pixels. Guess for realistic drawings too lol
Starting with young Baron Dark and young Dr Cyborn before actually being a "Dr". Baron Dark being a noble regularly came to the science elite students in the royal school to see who he could hire and trust for his family's secret centuries-long scheme, and he got very interested with that scrawny young man who felt much smarter and more interesting in his explanations than the lot to him and unlike the others did not want to bootlick and seemed to hold a certain darkness, hate for society and the regime he couldn't helo but admire. As for Cyborn, no matter how much he tried to push that brainless rich privileged playboyish noble away because he kept bothering him in his work and he didn't want to abandon his anti-nobility beliefs, couldn't help but find him extremely attractive as well as genuinely love his compliments sincr it was the very first time in all his lonely life someone seemed to genuinely love his work and intelligence and complimented him over it and wanted to know more even if not necessarily understanding and at that didn't seem to judge him over his fangs and talons. Very soon, force of coming just to see him he potentially saw as the right one for his plan (all while genuinely admiring him!), Baron Dark would start to find him beautiful in his own way and Cyborn would start to greatly appreciate his personality and see how despite his appearances and exterior he too was a misanthropic asocial with darker thoughts. A mutual attraction that grew into more and more to the point that even when the new Doctor was offered to work alongside Ursak as royal scientists, he accepted to be there just part time and do part time with the Baron to have an excuse to be with him and happily hear about his plans for him

Well, it finally happened. After hoping that this would stay as an American thing, I came face to face with a personality test while applying for a job. Or, as I call it in my limitless eloquence, fucking bullshit.
Now, I already wrote a 400 word (in Finnish) reply to the request for my personality (and IQ as well) but I’m so incensed that I guess I’m going to write some more. Hold on to your anal cushions, it’s gonna get bumpy.
Tumblr media
So, personality tests and job search. These are bad. These should not go together. Why? At least two things: repetition and bias.
Repetition
What personality tests are designed to do is not “to enable everyone discover the job most appropriate for them”. No, what they provide for their clients, ie. the companies hiring, not the people wishing to be hired, is the chance to forever repeat their past. To always and forever, only hire the same person as in the past.
It’s no great secret that companies have some pretty firmly lodged beliefs about what makes a good person for certain jobs. And how do they know these beliefs are correct? Well, it has worked in the past therefore it will work, forevermore. And because the companies that provide these personality tests are also for profit, they will gleefully reinforce these beliefs.
Considering new options is anathema to big companies which is why they will never change and also why personality test companies will sell their snake oil to them, knowing that the more they sell it, the more companies will be convinced of their effectiveness. Because what they provide is in the end, more of the same the company would have done alone, but now with the spectacle and appearance of science.
And I’m certain companies don’t mind how these tests make them feel more and more like exclusive clubs, with only the cream of the crop allowed in. Well, unless your daddy or mommy is already on the board.
Bias
The funny thing about people is that although sympathy and empathy are one of our base abilities, we are communal animals after all, we are ever so bad and good at it. Good because yes, we can do sympathy and empathy by and large, but how we place ourselves in someone else’s position or sense their feelings is coloured by our own position.
So, how ever good one’s intentions, one has bias. And when you put together a lot of people and let them mill about for a quite a long while, you get cultural bias. And that bias tells us who is the norm and what is the ideal. And because of that, what someone does in a particular situaton can depend a great deal on a person’s cultural background, something that is otherwise invisible to them.
And as written above, companies want to copy their Ideal Employee. And when you look around Western culture and its regard for neurodivergence and other cultures (even when well meaning), you have to ask yourself: would, no, could these personality tests treat them as the “norm” or better yet, the “ideal”? Because these kinds of people could bring something companies would never in their wildest dreams want: change, new points-of-view to their structures and systems. Because that would not be repetition.
And although these tests are marketted as something that “make the hiring process more equal” (something actually in the request for me to do them), a sickening claim in my humble opinion, their sole point is to be exclusionary. Because as I said, companies like to feel special, and you don’t get much more special than by being a “special people only” club. So you add more hoops to jump through. And I will again remind that the personality test companies are selling a product, catering to the wants of their clients. They want to feed into this special boys club feeling, no matter what they say to the person trying get hired. You aren’t the customer here, remember.
And what is the result from these personality tests reinforcing bias and companies’ beliefs? Well...
Systemic Unchange
Just like so many systems in our world, companies can, in the end, only repeat themselves. Their internal systems are all geared toward maintaining themselves and looking at systemic problems has never been the strength of any system of power. Especially because rather often, systems cannot be rebuilt or corrected while the systems still stands. Sometimes, these systems have to be torn down to the ground, past the foundations, for them to be made into something better.
And what personality tests of this kind provide is exactly what companies want to hear: “No, you’ve been doing it right all along. Here, let us do it even more right for you.” No change required. In fact, anti-change is required. Just cement your positions. Look, we have a graph, produced precisely to sell you this product, that says you should.
And what about the people wanting to get hired? Well, worst case scenario, we start seeing certain kinds of people, those outside the norm and ideal, becoming unhireable. Sure, you can learn which answers are right, but that only highlights how purposeless the whole system is. It’s just another hoop you need to jump through or not get hired. Because companies don’t want to give you the job you will be the most happy in. They want you to give them the employee they’ll be the most happy with.
So, basically, personality tests in hiring something something bad. Many words.
And this is without even going into how this reeks of the worst excesses of paternalistic, “we know best for everyone” modernism.

So I actually went and Googled pictures of Minka before her plastic surgery (only because the one you posted I don't think is a good picture, but that's on the magazine), and while I see the difference, especially around the eyes, the chin and the nose, she wasn't unattractive to me. I think she was still so pretty then. But like you said, looks matter in Hollywood, especially back then, and I guess she saw plastic surgery as a way to up her appearance to be seen as more beautiful, and worthy.
This is just my take: I think we should also take into account the insecurities she must have been dealing with at the time. And we can't fault her for those insecurities, because we all have our own insecurities, and we all find ways to cope with or try to fix those insecurities, and for her, surgery was her choice. That's what it boils down to: it was her choice. Yes, people can disagree that it was a wrong choice based on their personal morals/values/beliefs, but still, it was her choice. She made it, it was years ago, I think we can all move on. Besides, we don't know what her current thoughts are on that choice she made back them, especially if she's been on a journey towards genuine healing and self-love. Maybe she'll talk about it in her book, who knows.
As for the discussion surrounding the looks of Chris' past and future partners: again, it's his choice. And I think what people should start to understand is that, though you are a fan of a celebrity, that doesn't automatically grant you a degree in knowing who is right for said celebrity based solely on looks. I think people get way too caught up in the superficiality of it all, and think just because a woman is "less attractive" based on the superficial, and completely unrealistic standards of Western beauty, that she won't be good enough for said celebrity. I understand that his exes had/have questionable morals, values and opinions; critique those. But going so low that the only you find truly "ugly" is how they look, then it says more about you as a person than it does them.
Besides, none of us know him personally. Let the man choose who he wants to be with, regardless of what you think of their looks. What matters is what he thinks. And at the end of the day, whoever his future partner will be, I think the fandom will be shocked, cause she'll be completely different from what they had in mind, and it will be HILARIOUS, and just another form of evidence that tells them they know nothing of this man and what he truly wants and desires in a partner.
This is a lot of really good food for thought, and I hope people read it fully.

hello! I would like a free reading, if you're willing, please
why do younger men usually are attracted to me even though I don't want them?
thank you :)
-S 💕
Hii, S! I'm more than willing actually!! 😁 Let's dive in! 🤍
The Empress (middle), 10oC (top x2), QoW, Hierophant (bottom), 6oC, Sun, 3oW. AoC, KoP advices.
It's funny because before grabbing my deck I intuitively picked up that those younger men are attracted to you because they see you as The Empress. And guess which card was in the middle when I cutted the deck in half and I didn't even started to shuffle the cards? literally The Empress! 😂 So, overall they see you as this Divine Feminine (important to remember that in Tarots there's no gender, we always talk about energies). The archetype of the Empress is the mother, so she makes you feel the power of love. Her world is natural, pure and ideal for fertility, abundance and the creation process, creating the world in which she wants to live. You may even remind them of their mother (no matter your age) as we have 6 of Cups in the spread which is the card of nostalgia, memories, inner child. You may bring them to their childhood whether consciously or unconsciously. That's what they see in you. Could be your personality or physical traits.
I feel like they see you like this accomplished woman (indeed we have the 3 of Wands), who is very focused on her goals who has no time for love or other trivial things that do not serve to her higher purpose, they do not align with her true self.
I see you being happy on your own with The Sun or people may see you like that. I feel like you're the type "I need no man wasting my time" however it's going to be another story if you fall for 'the one'. I see you becoming more sweet, soft and available. However those younger man already see you with this beautiful bright energy, indeed The Hierophant tells me they are deeply attracted to it, you convey this nurturing, traditional, "motherly" energy to them - see how mentioned mother for the nth time? I feel like that's the main trait of you which attracts them. They admire your values and beliefs. They see you as a mentor or adviser figure that provides people with guidance and wisdom to face the challenges of life. Consequently they think you would be the perfect partner, you basically embody their ideal partner with the 10 of Cups who appeared two times on the top of the deck. They may even fantasize about a future with you, even if it's just a dream (as you may not be interested).
Here we have another powerful feminine figure the Queen of Wands - not as much as the Empress though. Therefore, I get again the message that they see you accomplished with a strong motivation, confident in your own capacities and probably aware of your own weaknesses and they want to be exactly like you. I feel like this is another important reason why they are attracted to you, because what you are is what they lack and want to be. Usually what we search in a person it's what we need and will find within us.
You have this nurturing, compassionate, accomplished/confident energy just like a mother, but could also be another nurturing figure who took care of them when younger. I know you may be disappointed but that's a great thing actually. And "you have a wonderful energy" is the best compliment someone could ever tell us.
I asked for one card more for an advice and instead two cards jumped out of the deck, Knight Of Pentacles and Ace of Cups. KoP suggests you should keep doing what you're doing without paying too much attention to those younger men or they may become a serious distraction for your goals. Remove any stuck energy that sits in the way of you and your dreams. Show pride in your progress. On the other hand something tells me that you may even like if you tried to talk to them, AoC is a big indicator of forming new relationships whether on the romantic or platonic front. Who knows maybe they have something to teach you despite their younger age and viceversa.
Now, I know what you may think but it doesn't have to fully/resonate with who you actually are, it's the energy I'm picking up from you which attracts those men (Hierophant - they love your (spiritual) energy) And it's been known that people perceive us differently from what we are, it's the type of energy we convey to the them consciously or unconsciously.
I'm not sure about your gender, so I apologize if the pronouns I used weren't correct.
Hope I gave you some clarity anyway. Any kind of feedback will be highly appreciated. All the best!! 🤍🤍🤍
