Hi buddy! I'm sending another round of questions for Sunday Writeblr Ask-A-Thon! My question to you is: Have your ocs ever brought someone back from the dead by either necromancy or going to heaven, hell and the like?
You double-sent me and I WILL indulge! >:)
The answer is, of course, yes.
The easy answer would be Eve from Unfinished Business, who's technically undead. They're not still around because of necromancy, though. It's just a function of the DMV Afterlife system.
The less-easy answer has to do with Rory Skiff. I set up the characters in The Saints of Beaverboard Bridge with specific motifs tied to specific local deities that Rory then totally fucks with. Rory was originally tied to the Queen of Beasts but, in freeing her brother from his role as Mikil's prophet, also took on his whole role as the chosen herald of the god of rot and decay (though she doesn't give in until a key point). Unfortunately, it isn't so easy to take Sloane away from what she's destiny-bound to: tragic death and drowning. So Rory does a bit of necromancy to bring her back as entirely human, and then has to reap the consequences of having given Sloane the entirety of her life force and now being undead.
The easiest answer of all is Almiel resurrecting Bloodsaw. Unlike Esther, she died in a way that was in fact compatible with the forces of the universe that granted her divinity. So when the universe resurrects Esther, that's not really necromancy. It's fate. When Almiel resurrects Bloodsaw, though, that is a form of necromancy, and this is something referenced by both Tiff in MLSG and The Agent in the first chapter of Tiff's Haunted Adventure (actual name pending).

”Plot To Free 4 Convicts Fails,” Border Cities Star. December 21, 1931. Page 1. ---- Welland Jail Under Guard --- Doomed Slayer and Trio From Niagara Falls Watched --- ‘Tip' Balks Scheme ---- Police Surround Building; One Prisoner Had Cut Cell Bars ---- By Canadian Press WELLAND, Ont., Dec. 21 - Plans for a sensational jail- break were foiled here at an early hour today when acting on information received from an anonymous source. Police Chief George T. Crowe, of Welland, threw a cordon around Welland Jail an thwarted the attempts of Basquale Ferrati and Louts Gatto and Vito Delveccio, all Italians of Niagara Falls, to escape.
DOOMED MAN INCLUDED It is also believed the plans also included the liberation of Nick Kozub, Beaverboard, sentenced to hang Dec. 30. Gatto and Ferrati were sentenced to life imprisonment at the fall assizes. here for attacking Vito Perri of Niagara Falls, while Del Veccio was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment for wounding Perri with intent to maim. Chief Crowe was informed at 11 o'clock last night of the escape plans and he immediately enlisted the aid of provincial officers from Welland City and county and together with the city police formed a cordon around the jail.
CELL BARS CUT Cars drove past the jail at frequent intervals but didn't stop. At 2 am. Sheriff Davidson visited the cells to make sure everything was in order and found Ferrati sawing through the bars in the corridor window leading to the jail yard. He had already sawn his way out of his own cell. He submitted to the sheriff without a struggle and was placed under heavy guard. A rope made of bed sheets was lying be- side the window and three saws were found in Ferrati's cell.
Outside aid would have been necessary for Ferratti to get to the street and it is believed the police cordon thwarted those on the outside who were to assist in the get-away.

The Man
The age flies by like a mad jet plane, containing a man hell-bent on suicide
he just doesn’t want to terminate himself but all around him, to diffuse the pain to as many as possible.

Name: unknown, 1952
Artist:  Zdzisław Beksiński
Method: Oil on beaverboard
This piece by Beksinski
Beksinski’s piece makes me wonder what this creature is, what the world it is in means. The piece features a chaotic and apocalyptical setting. With a grotesque creature walking on all fours. The creature’s face is covered with a cocoon like shape and almost resembles a dogs movements. The piece to me shows despair, chaos, isolation and sadness. The piece to me shows the chaos of life and what can happen inside it and how dark it can be in someone mind.
There isn’t much known about the context of this piece or any definitive inspirations but it is known that he tried not to use inspiration from other artists to create his art trying not to create things similar. Although he was interested in artists Artur Grottger,  Paul Klee, Picasso and Henry Moore. He has credited music to be one of his main inspirations, funnily enough his art has been used for multiple music covers.
It isn’t just the piece that captivates me only but the story of Beksinski, he lived a very hard life, he lost his son to suicide and also lost his wife a year later and along with that was killed in is own home over $100.

Hi buddy! I'm sending another round of questions for Sunday Writeblr Ask-A-Thon! My question to you is: Do any of your characters have any favourite media, real or stuff you made up?
Hello again, Athena!!
The answer is yes, of course.
In terms of real media, we definitely see certain characters engaging with music and movies they would like. Tiff Sheridan canonically listens to real-world bands like Mommy Long Legs, Skating Polly, and Bratmobile; she also idolizes to the in-universe Gunk Shot And The Scream Queens. Likewise, Mikey Marks from Impish listens to Paramore in the first chapter (and is obsessed with Tetris?), and I think I mentioned Rory Skiff (STG) listening to The Dollyrots? (That one might have been Sloane. I would check, but my editing document is mocking me.) That's to say nothing of Roux (Impish) and their obsession with classic monster movies.
There is, of course, a lot of in-universe media for various things. Bloodsaw's favorite movie is the in-universe version of a two-part Slasherflick game we played on Re:Roll. It's called Camp Bloodshed. It's a classic summer camp slasher, but with robots. (This is where the "OJ Simpson was the Terminator" thing comes from. The canon was that, because Arnold Schwarzenegger was playing the killer robots, OJ Simpson got the role.)
They really looked up to Zero as a character, even though she was the first counselor to die (she was set up as the protagonist but the director, who was also gay, hated women or something); and there's a little thread they have of comparing Tiff to Blake (which makes more sense if you remember the lost second part of that series, where Blake steps up and also gets his wizard robe stolen, and also that they both, like Rory Skiff, love Ray Bradbury).
In contrast, we've seen that Tiff prefers movies about mad scientists and particularly about reanimation. When I played her in This Godless Endeavor, I had her dressed like Tiffany Valentine under her lab coat for a reason, and I've definitely mentioned things like Re-Animator and Frankenstein Created Woman as some of her favorites.
Gunk Shot is also a big thing, since I have plans to bring them in for something I'm writing. It's another one of those "the real story, as opposed to the story you heard" kind of deals. They were a feminist punk band from the mid-2000s with a horror gimmick. Every member was supposedly murdered. The truth is, Elektra Lennix, their keyboardist, is now undead. Obviously the music still lives on; I keep referencing their Bucket album, which has to do with eyeballs.
I know I mentioned Mikey liking Tetris. (That's because it's my favorite video game and Tetris was the thing distracting me from finishing that novel, by the way.) I'm trying to think of what Eve's favorite things were in Unfinished Business, but I'm coming up blank. I referenced The Smiths a couple times, so I would imagine that's what her favorite band was?
Honestly, like-- horror movies and music are the two big things.

Lawren Harris (1885 – 1970) was a Canadian painter, best known as a leading member of the Group of Seven who asserted a distinct national identity combined with a common heritage stemming from early modernism in Europe in the early twentieth century. He played a key role in art in Canada, both as a catalyst and as a visionary of Canadian landscape art.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
Lawren_HarrisHarris was absolutely committed to abstraction and to what he considered an experimental approach, but his classic winter and northern landscapes remain his most significant and resonant works. Harris’s sparse iconic landscapes of the north shore of Lake Superior, of the Rocky Mountains, and of the Eastern Arctic remain haunting and clear statements of an individual striving to go beyond the surface to a more profound reality.

I match you with ... Sugawara Koshi ♡

Your relationship song : Loverboy (A-wall)
“This one looks weird…” you state, nose scrunches up and eyes squinting.
Sugawara stifles a laugh, your bluntness almost catching him off on guard. He should be used to it tho since he’s been with you for a while now.
“And why is that?” he asks you, glancing at the painting in front of you both.
“I don’t know… Something is off tho, that’s for sure.” You state, crossing your arms. Even if Sugawara doesn’t have the answer he asked for, he take your hand and leads you to another painting. “Alright, what about this one? Do you like it?”
You check the plate under the painting, the one where the information on the painting are : American Gothic. Grant Wood, 1930, oil on beaverboard.
“The guy totally looks like he’s going to murder someone with his pitchfork.” You comment, pointing the character on the right. Sugawara nods, adding his own comment “And the lady helps him choosing their victim. They probably discuss about their plans during dinner.”
You laugh, agreeing with him. “She also looks the type that like to stand by the window and gossip all day long. Look! you point at the window of the white house behind the two characters. I’m sure she just stands behind her curtains and observes anyone walking in the street.”
Sugawara meets your gaze and that’s enough to make both of you laugh hard, catching the attention of some of the tourists and people visiting the exposition. When you both calm down, you drag your boyfriend in another room, not wanting to be kicked out because you were laughing too loud.
“Wanna do it again?” Sugawara asks you. You tilt your head, not quite catching what he meant. “Make up stories about a painting?” he adds. You nod, squeezing his hand with yours. “Sure!”
This is the beginning of a new routine for each of your visit at a museum.
