Omega got pissed at Rouge, who normally knows better than to be outright nosy about her teammates, for constantly asking him what day he first came online.

(Subtle espionage is, of course, fine. Shadow has accepted at this point that Rouge will know more about the circumstances of his creation than he ever will, for example. This is par for the course and almost expected of her.)

He refused to answer her needling questions. Then one day, out of the blue, she shows up with a wrapped package.

"Happy birthday," she says as she sets it down on the counter in front of him, before walking off.

Omega stares at Shadow, who shrugs. Omega rips the wrapping paper and box open to reveal the newest album by his favorite metal band.

And he checks his memory banks. He's still never told Rouge the date he was first onlined. But then he checks his memory banks further, and recalls that this date was the day that Rouge found and released him from Eggman's servitude.

"THIS IS SUITABLE." Omega says, loud enough that he knows she can hear it. "EXPRESSING GRATITUDE."
