Top 10 Most Prominent Black Celebrities On Social Media
Tumblr media
Analyzing Instagram and Twitter followings and engagement rates, a new study reveals the most influential black celebrities on social media. According to the study conducted by Black lifestyle brand That Sister, more than 20 of the most popular Black stars were categorized according to their social media influence score. Overall, the score was calculated based on the number of followers each celebrity has on Instagram and Twitter and the engagement rate of their audiences on each platform. 1. Kylian Mbappe French footballer Kylian Mbappé has the highest social media influence score of any black celebrity on social media, scoring 93.18 out of 100. Currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1, the 24-year-old has a staggering 97.1 million Instagram followers and 11.7 million Twitter followers. Compared with other celebrities on the list, he has the highest Instagram engagement rate at 12.09% and the second-highest Twitter engagement rate at 2.43%. On either platform, this is well above the average engagement rate of 0.98% for Instagram and 0.04% for Twitter. 2. Zendaya In this ranking, That Sister reports that Zendaya comes in second place with a social media influence score of 85.95 out of 100. According to Instagram, the 26-year-old actor and singer have 166.8 million followers, while her Twitter has 21.2 million followers. Zendaya is the youngest two-time acting winner of a Primetime Emmy and has been featured on numerous other most influential lists, including Time Magazine’s 2022 list of the 100 most influential people in the world.   Her career has also established her as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. She has appeared in numerous movies and television series, including Disney Channel's Shake It Up, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Euphoria. 3. Khaby Lame With a social media influence score of 85.24 out of 100, TikTok sensation Khaby Lame ranks third. In 2020, the Senegalese-born Italian became viral after posting TikTok videos mocking overly complex 'life hack' videos. For example, a video of him looking before opening the car door was posted in response to an ad for a car rearview mirror. This video garnered 34.1 million views. Additionally, 37.8 million views have been accumulated by a video where he peels bananas with his hands rather than using a chef's knife to slice them. TikTok ranks him the most followed user on the platform as of February 2023, with 79.7 million Instagram followers and 369,681 Twitter followers. 4. Mohammed Salah Mohammed Salah is ranked fourth on the list of most influential black celebrities on social media, with a social media influence score of 83.41 out of 100. Currently, the Egyptian footballer enjoys a following of approximately 56.5 million on Instagram and 17.9 million on Twitter. In addition to playing for Liverpool FC, the 30-year-old captains the Egypt national football team and ranks among the world's best players. In his first season at Liverpool, Salah became the Premier League's highest-ever goalscorer in a season, scoring 32 goals. He also became the first African player to achieve ten goals in the Champions League in a single season. 5. Rihanna We should expect to see this celebrity on the list. Rihanna's social media influence score, 79.78 out of 100, placed her fifth place. 140.3 million followers follow the singer, actress, and entrepreneur on Instagram, while 107.8 million followers follow her on Twitter. Among the best-selling female musicians of all time, the Barbadian singer stands second behind Madonna, with 70.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify. 6. Paul Pogba According to That Sister, sixth on the list of most influential black celebrities is Paul Pogba, who scored 78.61 on the social media influence scale. Currently, the French footballer plays for Juventus and the French national team. In addition, he has an impressive following of 57.1 million followers on Instagram and 10.6 million followers on Twitter. 7. Cardi B Seventh on the list is American rapper Cardi B, whose social media influence scored 77.18 points out of 100. Initially rising to fame on Vine and Instagram, the Grammy-winning rapper, songwriter, and actress has 151.5 million Instagram followers and 18.4 million Twitter followers. Cardi B is known for her witty, outspoken persona and outspokenness on social and political issues. Moreover, she won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and top charts in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. 8. Beyonce Moreover, Beyoncé comes in eighth on the list of social media's most influential black celebrities, with an influence score of 75.86 out of 100. With 294.7 million Instagram followers and 15.7 million Twitter followers, the American singer-songwriter recently broke the record for the most Grammy awards won. With 32 Grammy awards, Beyoncé was honored as the most Grammy award artist of all time at this year's awards. 9. Barack Obama As per That Sister, a social media influence score of 71.96 out of 100 goes to former United States President Barack Obama, ranking him ninth on the list. Despite having 133.3 million followers on Twitter, President Obama ranks lower on the list due to his inactivity. He is remembered as the first African-American president of the United States, a famous orator, and a Democratic campaigner. 10. Drake Last, Canadian-born rapper Drake appears tenth on the list, with a social media influence score of 71.04 out of 100. While the "On BS" rapper has 130.8 million Instagram followers and 39.9 million Twitter followers, Twitter engagement is low. On Spotify, approximately 68.5 million monthly listeners listen to Drake's music. He contributes by popularizing singing and R&B sensibilities in hip-hop. Among the ten other celebrities included on this list are Nicki Minaj, Lebron James, Michelle Obama, Lil Wayne, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, Oprah, Alicia Keys, and Wiz Khalifa. Message From A Spokesperson For That Sister In response to the data, a spokesperson from That Sister stated, “In honour of Black History Month this February, this study highlights the accomplishments and global reach of celebrities within the Black community. “It places a particular focus on social media, given its growing significance in today’s world and its unique capacity to amplify the cultural achievements of Black people, advocate for inclusion, and unite Black people in the US and the diaspora.” Written by Nikiya Biggs Twitter | Instagram | Pinterest Follow and like FMHipHop on Twitter, Instagram, Spotify, YouTube, and Facebook! Hi there anon, of course I can! It was a little difficult to match to his canon ethnicity but I have listed BIPOC Faceclaim’s only.

redstreakrps presents: fc suggestions!
i don’t know about you guys, but i am sick of seeing matthew daddario used as the fc for alec lightwood. yes, he played alec in shadowhunters, but keep in mind that matt is 32 years old and alec is supposed to be between 19-23 in the books/show/film, which is a big difference. now, if you’re playing alec post-mortal instruments, using matt would work because alec lightwood canonically was born in 1989. but if you are playing alec during the events that take place in mortal instruments/shadowhunters, he’s most likely in his early 20s. if you’re looking to play alec lightwood for a rpg or an indie, but don’t want to use matt and would rather use a younger fc, i’m gonna list some suggestions for you guys! keep in mind, these are based purely on the kind of personality the character has and the vibe/previous roles of the fcs:
ehren kassam, b. 1997, best known for degrassi: next class (tanzanian)
alex fitzalan, b. 1996, best known for the society (white/australian)
aubrey joseph, b. 1997, best known for cloak and dagger (african american)

eli goree, b. 1994, best known for the 100, ballers, and riverdale (unspecified black)
froy gutierrez, b. 1998, best known for teen wolf and light as a feather (mexican/caxcan, european)
mason gooding, b. 1996, best known for love victor (african american, african barbadian, european)
gavin leatherwood, b. 1996, best known for chilling adventures of sabrina (irish, english, welsh, german, spanish, unspecified native american)
rudy pankow, b. 1997, best known for outer banks (unspecified white)
