Upon receiving confirmation that his girlfriend was going to come over for a Feel Good night, Denki had decided to put his all into preparing her the absolute most romantic dinner and sad nest that she had ever seen. He could picture it perfectly in his mind: Kyouka would come in and there he would stand, just in front of the most gorgeous feast she had ever laid her eyes on. Despite all the work and effort he’d done over the last few hours, he would look suave and handsome in his apron-covered suit, not a single wrinkle or crease in sight. She would fall into his arms and together they would gorge themselves on Denki’s wondrous cooking, and Kyouka wouldn’t have to think about Shockwave’s disgusting words or disgusting face. It would be perfect.

Which…

Uh…

To put it lightly, is not what happened.

Ignoring the fact that Denki had literally no idea how to cook (there are recipes for a reason), he’d had to run nearly all around the city trying to find all the ingredients for the huge feast he wished to prepare, which meant he had a little over an hour to cook everything he planned for.

And at the time, he’d thought no biggie! After all, Kaminari Denki was no stranger to strife and challenge. He could handle a little scrunch time with some food. He would just have to tweak the cook times and temperatures. How hard could the recipe be anyway?

And as it turned out, it could be pretty fucking hard.

Honestly, he didn’t know what happened. One minute, he’s perfectly fine, with his stove full of pots and pans and his island full of knives and cutting boards and what have you; the next, everything’s on fire.

There’s smoke everywhere, fires blazing in the pans, the pots are overflowing, and somehow every single vegetable that wasn’t on the stove has ended up on the floor.

It’s a fucking disaster.

Kyouka arrived somewhere between him shoving the last of the ruined food into the garbage and frantically fanning the smell and smoke out of his kitchen window. He didn’t know how long she stood there until he finally noticed her, half out of the window as he tried to catch a fresh breath of air and save what little he could of their Feel Good night. “Uh… hey, babe, what’s up?” He tried going for nonchalant, but he knew deep down that ship had sailed.

There’s silence between the two of them as they hold eye contact for a full three seconds before Kyouka bursts out laughing.

She doubles over, her bags dropping from her arms as she grasps at her stomach, expression bright and teary-eyed. The sound nearly echoes in Denki’s apartment and while he can feel the burn of embarrassment on his face, nothing beats the musical sound of his girlfriend’s happiness.

“Uh huh, go on, laugh it up!” he complains fakely, a wide grin pulling at his lips. “I was trying to do something nice for you, but sure, make fun of my failure!”

“Oh—Oh-hoh, this is way worse than failure, Denki!” she laughs, finally straightening up. She wipes tears from her eyes and grins brightly at him, face pink and so incredibly beautiful. “You careened right into disaster town!”

“Yeah, yeah, okay!” he whines as he walks to her, his arms open. She readily accepts the hug even as her frame continues to be wracked with giggles.

After a moment, Kyouka breathed in deep and became boneless in his arms. “Joking aside,” she whispered. “Thanks for trying. It’s really sweet.”

“Of course, babe,” he said. “Anything for you.”

“You wanna order some pizza? Make fun of some bad romcoms?”

“Always.”

Shigaraki Tomura/Shimura Tenko:

✋He will procrastinate until the last second to get gifts. Then he scrambles together things he likes and think the other person would like. He doesn’t pay attention to most people, so only his datemate and maybe Kurogiri and All for One would really get anything well thought out. He will pay attention to his Datemate at all times when they are around, so picking up on something they like comes naturally. Now, remembering exactly what that little thing in the shop on second street, that’s another thing…

🖐He would love to receive material gifts, like a new game or candy. He’ll accept your affection, but he does want some sort of gift. Brightly wrapped or not, he just likes getting new things. The recognition of getting a gift also gets to him, so just get him s o m e t h i n g.

✋He might grin like a giddy kid when you give it to him. If it’s wrapped, he’ll rip the wrapping paper off instead of disintegrating it. He never got things like this as a kid, so he’ll sigh and hold the item close to him, “Thank you.”

Himiko Toga:

💉 She will give you things that make absolutely no sense. In her brain, she just thinks it makes absolute sense, but in reality it’s still the severed head of a council representative.

💉 She wants your love and nothing less. More, though? She would love some new, cute clothes or makeup. She’s girly at heart, and maybe a new palette of eyeshadow and a skirt would be perfect for her.

💉When you give it to her, make sure it’s sometime before Christmas, because it’ll take a day or so for her to open it. She wants to build up the hype, her excitement already spewing out. When you give it to her, she’ll gasp and hug the gift, her smile permanent as she then throws the gift onto a nearby table and hugs the daylights out of you, “Thanks (F/N)!”

Dabi:

🕶 He actually pays attention to what catches your eye, getting a general idea of what you like and saving up a lot of money for either a one big gift or many smaller gifts. Even if you agree not to get each other something, he’ll get it anyways. The smirk on his face is evident on Christmas day as you wake up to see the originally barren tree alive with presents and the like under it. He might get a side gift that that pleases the both of you, though, so beware.

🕶 He isn’t expecting anything from you, but honestly something to feed his kinks works well. Maybe a cookbook since he can’t take care of himself all that well. The cookbook he needs, but a new jacket is optional. Despite what some people think, he does have multiple jackets, he just uses the rings as aesthetics/some material purpose I do not know of.

🕶 If you got him that jacket or sweater, he might expect or hope that you got a matching one. He loves matching with you. If not, he’ll ask where you got it from and get you one the same day. He’s overall mellow on the inside, but he secretly is so happy and honoured that you got him something. He’ll hug you, closing his eyes and slowly swaying to the Christmas music, “Thanks, babe. Thank you.”
