born 2 draw and be consumed by harvey thoughts, forced to write a 7-page book review of a Zimbabwean novel utilizing the matrix of oppression as a tool to understand how colonialism and gender impact the development of each character
#for legal reasons this is a joke#okay maybe not legal but ethical#moral perhaps#it's disingenous to suggest that I didn't absolutelty lock into that essay and it wasn't necessary to ref the matrix of oppression at all#I LOVE sociological theory. I will be graduating at the end of April with a BA in sociology#wish me luck

my final ever thesis proposal for this darn degree has been approved!!! with adulation and excitement on the part of the professor & advisor!!!!
#I'M EXCITED#it's outside of my usual area of research but i'm very interested!!!#it's my big boy. it's my 20+ pager goodbye BA paper#!!! AH#i'm so happy#also a bit sad as this is very much the beginning of the end#i finish this degree in april then immediately fly to england for a month#i will be graduating in absentia. as any autistic scholar should#unless i do end up scoring highest gpa in my graduating class. then i have no choice. unless i beg them. which i will#i hate formal anything!! fuck ceremonies!!!!! plus it's $200 to rent the clothes. ridiculousness

I’m temporarily freed from my perfectionism in school! The only condition for my admission is getting Cs or better in my remaining classes. Plus, transferring means my GPA is reset.
I’m not going to slack off, but I’m certainly going to stop worrying so much about my logic class.
#honestly the transfer might break my perfectionism. I didn’t get the scholarship or an offer for the honors program#and I’m only doing my BA & hopefully a minor. all I have to do is get a reasonable GPA to graduate.#it’s definitely less pressure which is good!#I’ve been super down all day bc I didn’t get the scholarship. trying really hard to think of reasons why I’m better off not getting it 😔😭

#it will keep me stuck here even longer but#i am so tempted#i don't even have to graduate from that like. what if i just signed up and took the courses i'm interested in#go sit in the lectures without taking the exams in the end#it's not like i need the title anyway i already have one BA#who cares if i finish a 2nd one or not#it would be purely for personal interest#airenyah plappert#yeah it's one of those nights where i'm having a crisis about my future career#i need to go work in theater and/or film so fucking bad#that's the only thing so far that has felt SO RIGHT#like dgmw i have fun working with adobe programs and i have a huge passion for language and culture#but neither graphic design as a job#not what we've been doing in my translation classes#has really called out to me as a career#on the contrary. it all makes me wanna scream "I DON'T FUCKING WANNA BE DOING THIS AS A JOB THIS IS A HOBBY TO ME''#but when i'm at rehearsals? even when i'm super overwhelmed bc i'm doing the shitty assistant director's job as a fucking hospitantin#it just doesn't feel like work to me at all like. i constantly have to remind myself that i have to say things like ''i'm at work''#or ''i can't i have to work'' bc i keep forgetting that it is in fact work#i have so much fun making sure everything is in order and i love taking care of my actors#and i'm GOOD at it. it's easy for me#god can june just fucking come around i just wanna start rehearsals already#screaming into the void
