Excerpt from the historical novel: 'Memories of Recurrent Echoes' by Anton Sammut
“The twins spend their second day in Paris at the Louvre.
''... Really great geniuses, eh Fritz? One could barely call them human beings.''
'' As a matter of fact, I don't think they were... just superior beings from some other planet... perhaps from the same one that gave us Mozart and Plato, for it's impossible that a mere human being create such monumental works.''
''Wonderful...”

I think the difference between how people talk about harry and taylor's love lives is the perfect example of misogyny because the same points are brought up for both usually but only one is shamed for it and is seen as a bad thing. Thats why when people were like taylor is slutshaming harry in iion i was like it doesn't work the same way first of all she wasn't slut shaming him to begin with but men and women are treated differently even with the same actions
EXACTLY like especially during the time, they were doing the same shit but only one of them was being shamed for it (which is what slut! is about and what's alluded to in is it over now). also why she isn't slut-shaming him, because 1) she can't, you can't slut shame a man the same way you can with women because there's inherent systemic biases and power dynamics that affect how they're treated, and 2) the whole point is that she was also doing the things she talks about him doing! she was just the only one getting publicly blasted by the media and the GP
but it is worth noting that while a lot of this still exists for taylor specifically (less so now that she's in a long-term relationship again so it's died down a bit), it doesn't as much for the new generation of female artists (and younger women in the public eye in general) which is also kinda what clara bow is about but that's a separate conversation
