This is a frame from a russian TV report from Avdiivka, a town destroyed by the russian army.
The inscription reads: "The Russian world saved the Donbas"
They came and razed entire cities to the ground, killed a lot of people and left even more homeless. All for the sake of placing the USSR flag on the background of the lifeless ruins and calling it liberation.
They really are proud of it.
could not sleep. could not get the pictures and videos of all the dead and wounded, of the ukrainian prisoners shot with their hands tied together, of the russians celebrating wiping out another part of ukraine, out of my head. filled with rage and despair.
may the russian state, which has nothing to offer but pain, destruction and lies, meet its end quickly and violently.
Battle of Avdiivka (Battle for Donetsk suburbs) On February 17. 2024
by hunmapper
On February 17. 2024 Russian forces captured the city of Avdiivka after the Ukrainian forces retreated. The victory is both a strategic and symbolic blow for the Russians as the siege of the city began back in February 2022. Battles for Avdiivka took place between Russian-backed separatists and Ukrainian defenders between 2014 and 2017. Throughout the years Avdiivka became a symbol of brave Ukrainian resistance as the Ukrainian units held the city for years in a very difficult situation. The retreat was necessary to avoid the encirclement of the city. The Russian Army has been concentrating its forces for months around Avdiivka. Do you think the Russians will keep on focusing on this sector of the front or regroup elsewhere?
This is Raisa Ivanivna, a retired Ukrainian language teacher from Avdiivka. Her beloved cat Mashka sits on her back.
Currently, the Russians are trying to surround Avdiivka, erasing the city from the face of the earth in the process, as they have already done with many other eastern Ukrainian cities.
There are still civilians in Avdiivka, mostly elderly people, who refuse to evacuate and leave the ruins of their homes. Russian propagandists on state TV urge not to feel sorry for those who stayed in the city and to raze Avdiivka to the ground, because "the lives of Russian soldiers are more valuable". And compare the residents who remained in Avdiivka with the Germans of Berlin, whom "no one felt sorry for in 1945 either."
For those who still believe Russian propaganda: this is the Donbas, Avdiivka is a city in the east of Ukraine, with mostly Russian-speaking population. These are the "people of the Donbas" whom Putin supposedly "protects and liberates". This is russian liberation.

P.S. In the 604th day of the war, Russian war criminals have surpassed all previous records of their idiocy: the Russians have managed to lose 55 main battle tanks, 120 armored vehicles and about 1380 casualties in one day...
i wish for that all of russian cities would look exactly like Adviivka does right now after years of nonstop terrorist shelling from mentioned earlier russians.
Avdiivka - Donetsk region - is now fully under russian control years of heroic withstanding.
