I've been watching more ev stuff lately.

You know, it's a shame that Arcimoto is advertising to the wrong market completely.

If they'd kept their price around $13k - $15k and honestly marketed it as a low cc electric trike with a roll cage, seat belts, and storage then they could have focused on people that can't afford a car and are already debating the merits of a motorcycle vs an e-bike for commuting and errands.

That's the crowd they should have targeted.

They're sort of doing it now in a round about way by trying to focus on commercial sectors and security but like.

They're asking almost NEW CAR price for an electric trike which means only rich people that want a new toy are going to buy it, and those rich people generally don't want the Arcimoto. They'd rather have the Aptera that looks way more sleek/elegant, has A/C, and drives like a normal car.

It's not for rich people that want to look cool, it's not for people that love motorcycles for their speed and tricks/manueverability, it's for people that are considering a motorcycle as a commuter vehicle for price and highway speed but are afraid to pull the trigger because of injury and fatality rates of motorcycles.

The insurance on Arcimotos (and autocycles in general) is so low and they cost almost nothing to charge (at home) from what I've read that it would be an amazing commute vehicle. But with the limit on electric vehicle rebates being in the 1k to 3k ballpark for most states that's just not going to cut it.

It's not worth a whole car payment for 45% of an electric car. Especially one that doesn't have fast charging.

I keep thinking about how fast charging and air conditioning could save it but that would still jack the price even higher.

It looks like a really awesome product but they're so focused on selling it to exactly the wrong people that I don't think they'll get anywhere.
