I dreamed I lived in a mountain village until a stranger joined us. My mountains started to change. Our farms became picked clean. Houses became occupied. Time passed. I spoke to the stranger. “Why are you changing my home? What is your purpose here?” They had no voice, but they spoke anyways. They said to me: one day, this place will be beautiful, and you will be gone. And the dream ended.

I just wanted to talk about the moment right before Wille's speech at the end of episode six.

Because this scene (or rather, the bits right before) is usually mentioned as proof that Wille hates public speaking, that he’s got severe anxiety over it, and that he overcame it in this moment.

But look at him. LOOK AT HIM.

Look at Wille. That is not an anxious boy who overcomes his fear of public speaking, that is a confident crown prince flexing on August, again, and bigger and better than ever before. It is, if you’ll allow me the pun, his crowning glory.

Because Wille knows, as we all do, what will happen when he doesn’t speech. August will take over. And Wille knows, as we all do, that August wants that, and he wants it really badly. He’d love nothing more than the chance to show the Queen that not only is he up for the task, he will do it better than Wille, who doesn’t take his role seriously and is generally more of an embarrassment than an asset to the Royal Family (as per August’s opinion).

And Wille gives it to him.

He tells Jan-Olof he’s not feeling up to the task of speeching. Jan-Olof talks to the Queen. August is informed there’s a change of plans. His moment is near, his chance to shine-

And Wille takes it away.

And honestly, for all the shotgun-talk, this is the cruelest I’ve seen Wille act. He even lets August get up, lets him make it almost to the stage before he gets up and overtakes August, making it look like it’s AUGUST who misunderstood the program, rather than Wille going offscript (already).

He humiliates August in front of the entire nation and he doesn’t even bat an eye.

Wille told Felice “I’m gonna take away everything he cares about - (…) being a prefect and the team captain, and the power.”

And by god he DID.

i will say that with fr bringing in baby skins we should get another way to obtain gems. more and more aspects of the site are becoming dependent on having a steady income of gems and if you aren't an active skin/accent maker it takes an incredibly long time to accumulate enough gems to afford the more "fanciful" items unless you're willing to spend actual money on the site.

On the last weekend of summer, the family heads to the drive-in theater. But there's more than just a movie lying in store. August is surprised to find Uncle Alejandro - and he's not alone. He's brought his boyfriend Elías back from Selvadorada with him. At first, August isn't sure what to think of this unexpected interloper. He doesn't like the idea of competing for Alejandro's attention. But Elías seems to understand how close August and Alejandro are and even gives up his seat so the two of them can catch up. As they all settle in for the show, any sense of discomfort quickly vanishes, and they quickly start to feel like one big happy family.

I had a lot of ambitions for this arc of my legacy that didn't end up fully panning out. However, I always envisioned it ending with this scene at a drive-in movie theater. I'm not sure how or why that popped into my head, but it did. I was so nervous about delivering on it, though, that I ended up putting it off, but in the end I'm glad I waited. I have lots of plans percolating for August's future that I can't share much about yet, but I want to pick back up in his teen years. I'm sure there will be some scattered updates in the meantime, though!

IT’S SYNESTHESIA POSTING TIME but as a reblog game 👀

I experience synesthesia, where your brain links two or more of your senses together so that experiencing one of them will invoke the other, either in a quasi-hallucinatory way, or more like an involuntary imagination (the way I experience it).

There’s a lot of ways this shows up in my life:

-> when I hear sounds, I “see” shapes

-> when I see motions, I “hear” sounds

-> when I hear words, they show up like captions

-> I have an often-comorbid condition called “Visual Snow”, which causes permanent static in my vision

But the one that’s most important for this post is connecting concepts to color! Every digit and math symbol, every letter and word, every person in my life, days of the week and months of the year, they all have their own colors to match.

And this is where you come in! Reblog with up to 3 of your F/Os (or S/I’s) names, and I’ll tell you what color they are!

As a bonus, some people in my life get assigned colors that match their *personalities*, not their literal names (so I might know a “green Jack”, because the name Jack is green, but I might also know a “blue Jack”, because his personality is blue). If they have one of those colors I’ll let you know what personality it matches!
