Asura Appreciation Week - Day 1

Talk about one of your asura OCs! Who are they? What's their Deal™? @asura-appreciation-corner

For this, the first day in our esteemed Appreciate the Rats week, I'd like to present the smuggler queen of Lion's Arch, the harbor shark herself, proprietor of the Hammerhead Salon, Lady Makko (featuring some older but accurate art from the talented @idaidaart I got a while back).

Coming into power not long before the Personal Story began, it didn't take long for a recently recovered Makko to make a name for herself in a city of pirates and brigands. She had watched her old boss, Scrimm, work the smuggling rings for years, making a modest living but never living up to the potential he could've had if he just played his cards a little bit more carefully.

So she took it all away from him.

With a keen mind for business and ruthless efficiency, she stole away her old boss's clients one by one. And though he tried to kill her in vengeance, Makko only came back stronger, sporting an elaborate pair of hand carved basalt golem prostheses and a pistol meant for Scrimm.

Though no one outside the Salon knows what happened to Scrimm - he just vanished one day - Makko knows full well he became food for the sharks that make up so much of her aesthetic. And he became a warning: she wasn't going anywhere.

In the years since, her power has only grown, and though she spent some time out of the city following Scarlet Briar's ill fated attack, she came back tougher than ever.

These days, those with an ornate basalt pin, inlaid with orichalcum and rubies, know exactly where to go to find luxury goods that may be… otherwise more difficult to obtain. A flash of a lapel and a door swung open… welcome to the underground world of Lady Makko. The salon itself is run by her "employees," but the woman herself is never far. The salon deals heavily in "difficult to obtain" luxury goods, and she prides herself on keeping well stocked, working out deals with pirates and smugglers to ensure only the finest items for sale.

Few but her most important patrons and partners have ever seen her face, but those that know her well know her as wary but straight forward… you can always expect a dagger from her in the chest, should you earn it.

Asura Appreciation Week Day 1 - OC Talk!

I cannot start off this week without talking about my man, the myth, the legend and my main for so many years, Oort the Truncheon! (and also the old namesake of this blog). Here is an (extremely simplified) history lesson (big post incoming and no read more EXPOSITION OR DIE): Born and raised in the outskirts of Rata Sum as an only progeny, his parents were prestigious researchers and scholars and were overachievers, accepting nothing less from their son. He had the best education possible and was accepted into the College of Dynamics, but he had become disillusioned with the whole system and asuran society in general and had no interest in being stuck in a lab or as he put it "a toady to the witless." He was always brilliant at metallurgy, fabrication and golemetric construction but he cared little for his studies as college wore on and he became unruly and a hard student to handle for his professors and his parents. He switched majors to Statics, coasted through before eventually dropping out right before he could graduate. His relationships with his parents and faculty and many of his peers shattered, he took up residence in the Undercube for a time and made a name for himself as a laborer and blacksmith, albeit with a foul and dangerous temper so had few friends. He ended up getting mixed up with a mysterious asura that won his trust before eventually blackmailing him and framing him for crimes she had been committing and revealing herself to be Inquest to boot. He ended up serving a stint in prison in Peacemaker HQ as a result.

Once out of the clink, Oort wasted no time in distancing himself from Rata Sum. Carrying not much more than his toolkit, a warhammer he forged himself and the clothes on his back he struck out for one of the furthest places away from Metrica he could manage: Hoelbrak. There he at least got along with more norn than he ever did with fellow asura and met who would become one of his closest friends and adventuring buddies. They traveled the length and breadth of the Shiverpeaks, Ascalon, the Steamspurs and the coastline of the Sea of Sorrows. She eventually joined the Priory, he the Vigil. Oort at this point had a bit of a reputation as being a competent but ruthless adventurer and his superiors were nervous he'd be a loose cannon but he quickly proved his mettle and reliability (though still hotheaded and with a habit of back talking), eventually earning the title of Warmaster. Though he himself is not the Pact Commander, he was present at all of the major campaigns and events that would transpire right before and after the forming of the Pact: Claw Island, the assault on Orr, the Fall of Zhaitan.

Over time and through the war in Maguuma, Warmaster Oort was renowned for his unwavering courage, ferocity, tactical mind and uncanny ability to survive things that would fell lesser individuals. Despite the conflicts and death and harrowing life he lead, he had time to fall for a powerful necromancer and would eventually marry, though sadly this relationship would also end badly for him later on. He would continue to serve in the Vigil with the events of Path of Fire into the Crystal Desert, collecting kills, scars and world weariness as he went. It wasn't until his worst near-death experience during the fight with Kralkatorrik in Thunderhead Keep and being buried under rubble and knocked into a coma for a week where he started to seriously evaluate the direction his life was taking. After Dragonfall, he declared he'd be going into semi-retirement from the Vigil.

This marked another low point for him. His wife had up and left, finding new ventures in an enclave in the Mists. He, knowing only conflict and battle now and being constantly on the move, was adjusting badly to a more peaceful life. He struggled for a time with the monumental trauma he had been carrying for so long but with the support of his new partners and the friends he had made over the years (whether he realized this or not), he would pick up the pieces of his broken self and built a homestead in Timberline Falls and find new purpose as a grandmaster weaponsmith and metallurgist, the passions he's had for his entire life finally realized.

That being said, his story is far from over. He still goes out and helps his partners Penny and Jaxxu with missions abroad, and he's been known to be convinced to help adventurers with especially dangerous ventures. And who knows what direction SotO will take and what sort of involvement he'll be in? (for those of you who read all this and stuck to the end, thank you so much for letting me ramble about one of my favorite and nuanced characters I've ever made.)

"High up in the Inquest, he moved from field recruiter up the ladder to a prominent researcher into holographic and teleportation technology with a side interest in studying the Mists. After an unfortunate accident where he lost quite alot of his body, Manikk prefers to spend his days doing paperwork and chasing up loose ends. Once bright and full of ambition, Manikk is rather content with his status, less of a bright shining star within the inquest and more of a silent black hole humming in the background His days of field research far behind him, Manikk now heads up a Krewe dedicated to 'asset retention and recovery' for the Inquest, specialising in hunting down asura that don't want to be found and managing difficult recruits. He is Relentless in his pursuit, and despite keeping things mostly cordial Manikk is known to hold venomous grudges."

Little less to write about Manikk he's idk Big Boss Energy (tm) He's also the rest of my inquest asura's boss so I guess there's that too! He's also got personal history (tm) with Nhimm and is currently hunting him down

Asura Appreciation Week 2023 Day 1

Talk about one of your asura OCs! Who are they? What's their deal?

I decided to talk about Gliaster (they/them but any is fine) since they're my most developed asura, AND also my player character! (not Commander, just player character)

Here they are in ~1331 AE:

Who are they? Ex-wife of Joko! What's their deal? Love!

Basically, a necromancer obsessed with necromancy who read about Joko in a book in Divinity's Reach and became obsessed with him too. They travelled to Elona to learn necromancy from him but in the process they also fell head over heels for him. Dated, then married for 10 years, Joko's death shook Gliaster to the core, but instead of taking revenge on the Commander and Aurene, they decided to disappear from the face of earth and write books about him to preserve his memory and knowledge. Many years later, books published with great effort, they're now ready to culminate their expertise as a necromancer and become a lich; however, the power overwhelmed and somewhat corrupted them, causing them to ignore all their past ideals. They're now hellbent on getting revenge on not only the Commander and Aurene but the entire world. Lo and behold! The next supervillain in a never-coming future expansion who causes the next cataclysmic event in Tyria. <3

Asura Appreciation Week - Day One "Talk about one of your asura OCs! Who are they? What's their Deal?" [hosted by @asura-appreciation-corner ♥]

of course im going to bring up my favorite little rat, Liifa!

Just a funky mischievous little guy, carrying a book of demons and shuffling his tarot cards in weird places!

Originally from Quora Sum before its fall, yes he's old and yes he has very special feelings (derogatory) about Primordus. He also managed to gain a personal, mutual vendetta with Joko. He spent the majority of his 'normal' life in the Crystal Desert with the Sunspears, and after accepting a book of Demons associated with Abaddon (the Binding, in my headcanon!) he was promptly, you know, kicked out!

He had a little bit of a pirate stint before taking to the life of wayward traveling. He's done a lot of odd jobs over the years and very often sticks himself into situations that he has no business actually being in - especially larger happenings, like the Pact's Campaign!

he's very normal, i promise, he absolutely totally definitely didn't accidentally make himself a lich while reviving his sister from a fatal wound -- don't mind the fact that he's been alive for over two centuries, he's definitely not a lich! :) prommy. (obligatory sarcasm tag; he's absolutely a lich and hides it from everyone lol)

He ends up stuck in Gandara with Eliana, a plant girlie, for most of LWS4, and after getting out thanks to Joko getting turned into a dragon fruit snack, they stick with the Commander's team! So per my personal AU, he's gotten to see Primordus up close again :) he hated it a lot <3 and thanks to his experience with demons, he's definitely getting dragged into SotO! ♥

Asura Appreciation Week - Day 3

DAY THREE - AUGUST 22nd Does your OC have a krewe? What do they specialize in? How do they get along with each other? @asura-appreciation-corner

A bit late with this one because y'know, new expansion launch and all. And I'm dumb and didn't prepare any of these posts in advance

The story of Tenakk's little band of misfits is going to be a bit of a long post.

So I'll start with the first three:

Tenakk Aside from the krewes he was a part of during college, Tenakk never really had a krewe of his own for a while. He was content to work alone most of the time, which was part of the reason he ended up joining the Durmand Priory later on. Aside from his research into destroyers, he was also a really talented artificer, which he used to earn a little extra income.

Milo Milo was raised by humans, and so his mannerisms and world view is quite different from the average asura. His first visit to Rata Sum didn't go so well, and he struggled to understand and fit into asuran society. This is where he met Tenakk for the first time, and they became good friends. What Milo lacks in fighting ability, he more than makes up for it with his talents in healing magic and crafting medicines. He is very sociable, and has many contacts from the medical work he carried out around Divinity's Reach. If Tenakk ever needs a particular item or information, Milo probably knows someone who can provide it.

Sparxxi A typical Dynamics student; she likes tinkering with machines, and creating gadgets to tinker with more machines. She used to be part of a krewe in Lion's Arch, creating festival decorations and organising fireworks displays. When Scarlet's attack on the city destroyed everything she knew, she was left sitting around in one of the refugee camps with no home or friends. She noticed Milo and Tenakk helping out some of the refugees, and she pretty much latched onto them, refusing to go until they gave her a job. Tenakk eventually relented and offered her a job as an assistant.

For a short time, the three of them worked together in Tenakk's workshop/makeshift lab. They didn't consider themselves an official krewe at the time, it was pretty much 'Tenakk and Friends' doing odd jobs and projects.

And then Sparxxi heard about the Pact forces mustering in the Silverwastes, preparing to go to war against an Elder Dragon. She really wanted to get a closer look at the airships, and ended up sneaking aboard one of them. Just before the fleet set off into Maguuma to fight Mordremoth. Oops.

About two years later, Tenakk recieved a letter from her which essentially read: "Hey I found these awesome Mists researchers, you should come join us! Also, I'm alive!"

Which leads us on to the next three:

Tenkatt One of Tenakk's best kept secrets is his failed experiment with the Infinity Ball; a device intended to show a glimpse of a possible future. But unbeknownst to him it did kind of work, and an alternate future version of himself materialised. But unlike the in-game story character of 'Grand High Sovereign', this alternate Tenakk has no desire to conquer the world, he just wants it to not fall into Void as a result of killing Elder Dragons. So it's safe to say he's not a fan of the Commander.

He stayed out of sight for a while, and joined up with the Aetherblades to poke around with their Mist portal technology. He had no interest in working for Scarlet, so when the 'Blades ended up trapped in the Mists after Scarlet's death, he took the first opportunity he could to steal one of their airships and escape the Mists long before the others figured out how to do it (he's done this before). Problem is, the portal he opened up just happened to lead right into the middle of the battle between Pact forces and the Mouth of Mordremoth in the jungle.

Here he crossed paths with Sparxxi, and her reaction was basically: "Wow, Tenakk has a twin brother!" She offered to fix up his airship and persuaded him not to go after the Commander. Many of the events he had witnessed were different from the ones he knew from his alternate reality, so he decided to stick around to see how things play out.

He and Tenakk often bicker about the best course of action, and he still doesn't agree they should be helping the Commander. The one thing they seem to agree on is that cats are great. And if anyone asks: they really are brothers.

Trellia Not actually an asura, but an inquisitive Mist creature that Tenkatt encountered while stuck in the Mists (if you're a GW1 fan, basically like Razah). Technically genderless, but has chosen to take the form of a female asura in an attempt to blend in. Trellia is a skilled Chronomancer, and also seems to have the ability to detect and manipulate some Mists-related anomalies without the need for technology.

Mellu (The hat isn't canon, it's just the best screenshot I have right now) Mellu is a seasoned Mist Warrior who seems to have lost all memory of her life outside the Mists. She often ventures out into the Mist War and returns with a variety of resources ranging from useful materials to odd/bizarre trinkets.

Special mention: Fluffy

Fluffy was adopted as an adorable griffon chick under threat by Icebrood monsters in the Shiverpeaks. He allows the krewe to go places where an airship would draw too much attention (or can't reach). He likes griffon races, fish, and Aurene.

(sometimes I call them the Infinity Krewe because I still can't decide)

Officially formed in 1331AE to track and deal with the rifts left by Kralkatorrik's rampage through the Mists, although they had been tracking other anomalies prior to that event. They often collaborate with the Commander to collect data and send help to citizens affected by creatures which have escaped from the Mists. I guess you could call them a first response & rescue team specialising in Mists-related events and disasters, though they often take on side-projects in general Mists research.

asura appreciation: day two

leikkya (again)

her involvement with the inquest started young - so young in fact, that she cannot remember a time before. she lived inside a large inquest facility, that was home to the majority of their long-term experiments on live subjects. as such, the focus ranged from medical research to social and psychological studies, some projects lasting decades. this meant, that a large number of of their prisoners weren't expendable and it was expected of all scientists to keep their subjects alive and well (within project parameters of course) until the conclusion of all experiments they were a part of.

as it was crucial to some studies, the prisoners were allowed to have their own small society - although all under heavy monitoring of a specialised inquest krewe, with set conditions and rules that were to be obeyed at all times and their schedules being micro-managed to hell and back. many, who, like leikkya, were raised within that system, couldn't see the issues with it, as they never knew anything different.

leikkya herself was a subject in a few different projects, most notably in one researching the impact free unbound magic exposure had on body and mind, if given at a steady rate over long periods of time. she was lucky to be among the group given only small doses and didn't have notable lasting difficulties from it.... aside from her elemental magic deteriorating to the point of having 'dried up' completely at the age of 12. although examined and researched thoroughly, no way to reverse that change had been found by the scientists in the complex.

not long after, the facility got taken down by peacemakers, despite it's sheer size and high security. through the fearless tenacity of a group of journalists, the public had been made aware that in order to keep up with the demand for subjects, the acquisitions krewe of the complex had started kidnapping asuran progeny in recent years (as opposed to simply taking 'donated' unwanted children and orphans of the poorer districts). the public outcry in rata sum was immense and spread far too quickly among the population - the arcane council and it's eye couldn't simply shove this under a rug.

luckily for them, the identities of the many prisoners were kept secret and not even a single holo was revealed to the public unless the individual chose to do so themselves. where possible, people would be returned to their families or given back to their respective government. these efforts were hampered significantly by the fact that very little data on biological relations was kept for this exact reason. many chose to go to free cities like lion's arch. children like leikkya, whose family couldn't be found, were often given to foster families or put up for adoption where possible.

she went through many different foster families, rarely staying anywhere for long. some were actively abusive, others simply not equipped to deal with the immense amount of trauma simmering inside this tiny girl. at 15 she joined dynamics while living with one of the worst foster families to date. a teacher noticed and raised concern over her health and well-being, and so she was once again moved from that 'home'. after about three years of many such failures, she was given up on by her social worker, marked as a lost cause and allocated a small dorm room on an orphan's stipend.

life outside the complex had been tough for her; she never quite managed to fit into regular society. being used to strict and absolute regulations ruling over everything left her unable to really understand the rather complicated social cues and unspoken norms the regular population abided by. additionally there were very little people who cared about her (and even fewer who did so without ulterior motives), no contact with the other survivors and subpar overworked therapists.

life did take a better turn for her when she ran into one of the inquest scientists from the facility. he'd always been fond of her and sometimes slipped her sweets or aquired books. through many complications, him and his wife manage to adopt her and she moves to thaumanova with them. she gets involved with the inquest there again through her parents, shadowing them on their work where possible and making some connections through their friends and colleagues. she formally joins the inquest on her 18th birthday: the day the city - and once again her world - was wrought with destruction and chaos.

i'll stop monologuing about her for now. but there's no end in sight for the brainrot

ASURA APPRECIATION WEEK - Day 2 Inquest OC

I have no current asura in the inquest though Widdigit was a former inquest member. Back in the day he was a young inquest intern applying to get full membership until he was caught in the Thaumanova Reactor meltdown. He was found by the rescue krewes near death and healed over the next few months back to full health.

Though he lost vision in one eye and had to have a damaged arm and leg amputated to prevent infection. Over the years after the event that changed his life he traveled the world finally ending up in cantha getting hold of a jade tech replacement for his arm ...maybe a leg prosthetic soon Anet? plz

Asura Appreciation Week - Day 2

Do you have an Inquest OC? How did they end up in the Inquest? (If you don't, what college did your OC attend?) @asura-appreciation-corner

I have several, but I'm going to talk about my number one terror, Rhenn! Rhenn is the son of Overseer Prikk and Inspector Mili, of the Inquest Ethics Committee. Though he was born and raised in the Inquest, Rhenn did attend the College of Synergetics at his father's behest, but he was kept fairly cloistered outside of that, and he didn't live in the dorms.

Part of that was a terrible secret Rhenn didn't learn until many years into his time as the commander.

Rhenn himself was custom designed, grown to infancy in a test tube after dozens of failed attempts: Prikk and Mili's attempt to create the perfect asura. The perfect pawn. Rhenn is hardier than most asura, heals quickly, and on the very rare occasions he gets sick, he bounces back with startling quickness.

Among other "enhancements" Prikk added on through extensive, invasive experimentation as Rhenn grew up. Of course, all of this was while Rhenn was kept very sheltered. If you don't know you're the lab rat, how can you complain about the conditions?

It was just parr for the course in the Inquest.

After the horrific death of Commander Tebb on Claw Island, then, Prikk got an idea. Why not get some good PR for the Inquest, and get some up close and personal research on the dragons and their minions in the process?

Beyond the unknown horrors of his childhood, Rhenn is brilliant young asura, a golden child up and coming within the Inquest, charismatic and easy to talk to. He was sent to volunteer himself to help the Priory in figuring out a way to take back Claw Island, along with some "insurance" - a chained charr mesmer named Iuno. Originally, they okayed it because he was Inquest... if he died, it was no skin off their back.

But Rhenn didn't just survive, he thrived. He remained through the death of Zhaitan, and when Scarlet Briar began wreaking havoc in Tyria, Rhenn was sent out again. There have been a fair share of naysayers unhappy with, or just plain distrustful, of a member of the Inquest serving as Pact Commander, but Rhenn has done his job with surprising efficiency.

Outside of his parents' circle of control, however, Rhenn has begun to learn more about himself. About how he was born. How the experimentation he endured as a child was not normal. How Iuno was kinder than anyone he knew in the Inquest. He made friends with Rox and Braham, started to see the young prodigy Taimi like a younger sister, and grew close to a young Priory combat medic named Kippa.

And maybe he was starting to realize he didn't know who he really was after all.

Asura Appreciation Week - day 4,5,6

Who's your favourite NPC asura? Why?

Well, that's a though question! My fav used to be Gorrik, in PoF. I was a total fangirl, i even adjusted one of my asura oc on his entomology thing because i loved the idea! I really loved Gorrik's nerdiness and lack of leading morale. He was an inquest after all and oh, i love inquests if you still didn't notice! xDD Buuut in EoD Gorrik has taken a bit too much the comic/macchietta role and i don't really appreciate it :/

So what about now? I'm still unsure about Zojja since i'm still playing soto where she's got a bigger role and, well, i still don't know what she's going to do. I love her sassy-ness and the fact that despite being a good person, she also got the asuran morale.

Special nominee: Snaff! Blish <3 aand Zinn! I love reading about Zinn XDD I dunno, it's hard to decide and I feel like they all deserve to be named in here while no one is really winning my heart!

Do you admire any Asura OC from other people on Tumblr?

Well, YES! While i don't know many people&OCs around here, i really can't help but being a fan of @bookahlogy's Pirrx (but not just him from the family) who's the cutest thingie ever aaand @eisbee's super stilysh Agent B who's the perfect proof that the dark side has cookies! >u< Well I'd shout at Una_Marmotta's wonderful OC Mantis (who's absolutely my fav) too but she's not around Tumblr yet e.e'''

Do you have any headcanons about Asura as a society?

Yes. I do believe they're the smartest race on Tyria and i can't stand the canthan "superior technology". I haven't seen anything in Cantha that Asuras don't have. It's just.. canthan have done very human-typical tech metropolis while Asuras have this more tribal-Inca style which could be confused for a society less permeated with tech and more with magic. But it's not. Tech, magic, science are all parts of the Alchemy and Asuras whole lore revolves around being big minds. My headcanon is: asuran society wouldn't stand this canthan thing as well, they would quickly send some envoyees to scan Cantha's tech and magic and they would return to Rata Sum and make some big progress thanks to jade and inspiration. It wouldn't be a big deal for them, too. In less than one year they would come back as the most tech advanced society of Tyria, again.

ASURA APPRECIATION WEEK 2023

DAY ONE - AUGUST 20th (I am LATE whoops)

I'm late to this cus I have potato for a brain orz

So, for the first (belated) day of Asura Appreciation Week 2023, here's a brief summary of my best boy, Zyffre!

Zyffre's a member of the Durmand Priory. In fact, he was born there in 1300AE, to Magister Luura and Councillor Ardjin. He was fascinated with Elder Dragons and the properties of their magic, and that's the field he went into studying.

In his youth, his mother would take him along on her expeditions with her team. He was raised by her and her team, as well as being babysat by Steward Gixx (his grandfather) when Luura was on more dangerous expeditions.

When Zyffre came of age to enter the Colleges, he went into Synergetics. After graduating, he went on his first expedition with his first krewe to Mount Maelstrom. He crossed paths with Kuda and fell head-over-heels for her. He was then inducted into the Inquest and worked at the Infinite Coil Reactor, as well as becoming Kudu's apprentice. He also knocked up Kuda and had a daughter with her.

The Infinite Coil Reactor would have been Zyffre's dream job, had it not been for the horrible experiments that went on there. Eventually, he left the reactor before the events of Crucible of Eternity occurred and returned to the Priory. He continued his research on the Elder Dragons and became a professor at the Priory.

He was later sent to aid the Pact when Jormag and Primordus began to stir. He teamed up with Taimi and Gorrik to help the Commander(s) deal with the situation.

After all is said and done, Zyffre continued his studies with the wild magic Aurene was purifying, and he'll be involved with the upcoming forces that are making themselves known.

FUN QUICK FACTS!

Nhimm alledgedly holds a double degree. In what? Good question!

Went from Inquest Employee of the month to in the top 10 Inquest most wanted with one weird trick!

Way too invested in his necromancy research, would rather die than hand it over (but he also doesn't want to die)

Had to go to a human dentist after a run in with the inquest, ended up with perfectly straight freakish teeth for an asura

Slicks back his hair to look more 'professional' but really has an unruly tangle of hair (the humidity in Maguuma does not help)

"Nhimm is questionably a Dr at best, and at worst is an unethical maniac, willing to sell anyone out to further his own research. He started out starry eyed as a young Medic within the Inquest out to save lives and help people, but too many close calls with death left him with questions about the mortal world of flesh that normal science couldn't provide answers to. Time turned him jaded and cynical, the cycle of life, death and resurrection his play things. He'll experiement on you! He'll experiment on your dog! He'll experiment on himself if it furthers his understanding of necromancy. Nhimm is quite lazy in nature most of the time, everything an effort unless his interest in engaged, sleazy and loose with his morals and work ethic, he wasn't the model employee but for what he lacked in efficiency he made up for in slap dash sparks of brilliance. Despite the extensive monetary support from the Inquest for his research, Nhimm longed and craved the freedom to do whatever he wanted without constant progress reviews and eyes watching his back. So he decided to quit, absconding with all of his dark research and the entirety of the funds allocated to him by the Inquest. Now setting up research facilities, freelancing here and there as a medic Nhimm is perpetually on the run from the Inquest, which while troublesome for him at least has kept life interesting. Most likely to be found around the outskirts of Rata Sum, or hiding out somewhere in the winding alleyways of Lion's Arch"

(Yall might remember him as one of those asura designs i did years ago, well suprise i decided to keep him and he worm his horrible little way into my heart lmao. Also i end up playin wvw on him quite alot so i am so sorry to whoever has run into me on there lmao)

DAY ONE - AUGUST 20th Talk about one of your asura OCs! Who are they? What's their Deal™?

Widget is an extremely skilled Golemmancer and engineer. At the time of WLB she is 24 years old

Although she was an accident to her two parents, Zydeco and Kuda, they still loved her deeply. Shortly after she was born, Zydeco realized that she would have a horrible life in the inquest, especially due to Widget developing asthma so soon after her birth, xey tried to convince Kuda to leave with them but Kuda refused. Eventually, they left Kuda behind.

Since she was young, Widget showed great promise and intelligence, even through her struggles with ADHD and asthma, and crafted an infinity ball as one of her first inventions. At college she met Taimi, Gorrik and Blish and became close friends with them.

Eventually, her mentor was called to help prepare on the war against Mordremoth, and she decided to join up too, where she met up with Taimi again, and ended up sneaking away from her mentor to help the commander and thus changing her life. And even letting her meet her mother for the first time since she was a babe.

Widget specializes in holograms and golem mainly, but is eager to pick up anything that interests her in the slightest.

Arkk!!! My beloved!!!

My fractal obsessed ass loves him to death; I love his story a lot, his fight (CM especially beloved), and his voice! I love entering his fractals and just muting everything else so I can listen to him, haha. I don't want to spoil anything for people who haven't played fractals yet but god, please play them. Chaos->Nightmare->Shattered Observatory. You'll thank me later.
